I’d been wanting to visit for a long time, and I was finally able to stay this time. Unfortunately, because of the rain there was no goat welcome, but I enjoyed a champagne welcome drink in the lobby and headed to my Room feeling excited. The Room was very spacious and impeccably clean, so I felt comfortable throughout my stay. The fog was quite heavy so the view wasn’t very clear, but I was told you can see Mt. Fuji on a clear day. I also really appreciated the complimentary free-flow drinks in the refrigerator. I requested refills of various items such as half bottles of champagne and water. The bath is an Onsen, with a faint sulfur scent and just the right temperature. It wasn’t an open-air bath, but opening the window made it feel wonderfully airy. It was also my first time staying in a Room with a sauna (with cold plunge), and it was a great experience—I worked up a good sweat and truly enjoyed it. Dinner was thoughtfully prepared across every dish and absolutely delicious! The wine pairing was excellent as well, and I had a wonderful time until the very end. For a late-night snack, we were served conger eel sushi—far beyond what you’d expect for “late-night,” truly authentic. I enjoyed it with another refill of champagne. For breakfast we chose in-Room dining; the pork miso soup was especially delicious, and being able to have seconds left me completely satisfied. Above all, the staff were courteous with just the right sense of distance while still being incredibly attentive—checking on drink replenishments in our Room and more—which made for an excellent stay. I would love to return for another stay. Thank you very much.

As the property is relatively new, the building, Facility, and amenities were all new and spotless. The appliances were thoughtfully selected too—I liked them so much I wanted to use them at home, and I even bought some after returning. Since it is set a little back from the road, we were able to spend our time in peace and quiet. We also encountered wild rabbits and deer, which made it feel like a true getaway. Despite the typhoon’s impact, we still enjoyed a barbecue! Our dog seemed to have a great time as well. We would love to stay again.

We had seen a Review saying the pool temperature was low, and since it was a chilly day we were worried, but it was comfortably warm. The first-floor flooring is also not slippery, so I think it’s dog-friendly. If possible, it would have been even better if the second-floor flooring were made of similarly non-slip materials. The quality of the free-flowing Onsen water was great as well, and it was a wonderful Accommodation that makes not only dogs but also people want to come back.

While Accommodations with Onsen and breakfast and dinner included are wonderful, we were hoping for a stay that felt more like living locally. We stayed as a couple, and the simple layout—kitchen, dining area, bedroom, toilet, and shower—was impressive and made for a very comfortable stay. The owner’s mural was gentle and blended beautifully with the interior, creating a lovely atmosphere. We were told that in winter all rooms have underfloor heating so you can stay comfortable even in short sleeves, so we’d love to visit again in another season. There’s an OGINO supermarket nearby as well as a butcher shop; we enjoyed basashi and relaxed with Yamanashi wine (the kitchen knife wasn’t very sharp, but honestly it felt safer that way). Partway through our stay, the owner stopped by to check on us and shared stories about life at Lake Yamanaka—more than anything else, that became our favorite memory and made us feel at ease. It was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

We arrived by car, and even in the heat we were greeted before we even reached the entrance. Sometimes you’re welcomed after arriving at the entrance, or staff are stationed at the entrance to greet you—but this time they were already waiting out front. Isn’t that almost too wonderful? The welcome drink was delicious as well. This time we chose a lower grade and stayed in the Residence building. Getting from the Main building to the Residence requires walking a short distance outside, so it might be a concern on rainy days. There are also a few stairs, but staff will carry your luggage, so it shouldn’t be an issue. There is a private Onsen along the way, so for those who plan to use it, staying in the Residence may actually be more convenient. The Room was spacious enough. Our pre-requested baby cot, diaper bin, baby bath, etc., were already set up in the Room, so families with babies can stay with peace of mind. The indoor bath is an Onsen with free-flowing natural spring water in the Room. The temperature was perfect—absolutely wonderful. The BVLGARI amenities were also great. Breakfast was delicious, and the portions were just right—more than enough. As for the cuisine overall, I think the chef’s skill is outstanding. At dinner service most guests dress neatly, so for men it’s better to wear something with a collar to match the atmosphere. On our first stay last time we didn’t know what to expect and dressed too casually—lesson learned. Shorts and a T-shirt would probably still be fine; this is simply about maintaining the overall ambiance. The outer-side seating likely has better views, but if you have children I recommend sitting on the lobby side—you don’t have to worry as much about others there, which really helps. If your baby starts crying hard nonstop (as babies do), you can simply step out. I’m very interested in dinner as well, but with a baby we couldn’t use it considering the atmosphere—hopefully someday. The evening ambiance is wonderful. Service is excellent as expected—from checkout through seeing us off was superb—and I honestly wonder if there is any Accommodation that surpasses this one. Given today’s times I imagine staff training must be challenging everywhere, but this Accommodation’s hospitality stands out as truly exceptional. Thank you to all staff members and chefs alike. We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip. From the moment we arrived until the very end, we truly had a wonderful time. The Room was spacious and spotless, with thoughtful attention to every detail. It was so comfortable that we honestly wished we could stay there forever. We were also delighted to receive a Room upgrade this time—thank you so much. Above all, the meals were beyond words—absolutely delicious. Every single dish was outstanding, and the dining experience itself became a special memory. Because it was our anniversary, you even prepared a surprise dessert plate for us. We were deeply touched by your unexpected kindness. All of the staff were warm throughout our stay, full of attentive care and hospitality, and we found ourselves thinking again and again how glad we were to have chosen this place. The Room, the meals, the Onsen, and especially the staff’s thoughtfulness—everything was exceptional. We couldn’t be more satisfied with our stay. We have stayed at many Accommodations over the years, but this is without a doubt the best one we have ever experienced. We are truly glad we chose “Hakone Gen” for such an important anniversary. When we visit Hakone again, we would love to stay here again. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time and unforgettable memories.

We had another wonderful stay. No matter which Fufu Accommodation we visit, we are always delighted by the consistently heartfelt hospitality and the truly careful, delicious cuisine. At Fufu Hakone this time as well, we were soothed by the warm welcome from all the staff and were able to enjoy a relaxing, luxurious time. An Accommodation that makes you want to come back—Fufu is still number one for me. This time, we also made use of a wonderful IKYU benefit, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I am truly grateful for this special opportunity. We will do our best in everyday life and look forward to coming back to Fufu again. Thank you very much.

We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. It was our first family trip with the puppy we had just welcomed home, and we had many worries, but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the well-stocked amenities, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. And above all, the meals were delicious!! We had both breakfast and dinner, and both left us completely satisfied—full in body and heart. The Onsen in the large public bath was wonderful as well. The open-air bath in our Room is not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing. Our family has already been saying how we want to come back again soon.

This was our first stay here. Although we originally planned to come by car and had to switch to the train at short notice, you still picked us up at the scheduled time. The Room was just the right size for two people, and we also appreciated how clean it was. There were plenty of amenities and many complimentary drinks, so we were able to relax and take our time. Each dish was carefully prepared, and combined with dining in a private room, it felt truly luxurious. Everything tasted excellent. We enjoyed the chocolates served at the end of dinner during our morning coffee time. The late-night snack was also refined and delicious. The bath required adjusting the temperature, but that actually allowed us to set it exactly how we liked it, which was great. As it is a sulfur hot spring, there was a faint scent that lingered after bathing, but it wasn’t too strong—just enough to feel its benefits. Breakfast was also delicious: kamameshi cooked with dashi with slightly indulgent side dishes, all thoughtfully prepared. Overall, we were truly satisfied with our stay.

We stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary trip. Every meal was delicious!! The in-room open-air bath was wonderful, and we were able to relax in the Japanese-Western style Room, which we were very satisfied with! They even prepared a celebratory plate during dinner—it truly made for a happy one-night stay! Thank you very much. We were also happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary! We would love to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

Meals were served in the Room, so we could relax without worrying about other dogs. The seasoning was excellent, and we enjoyed freshly cooked rice—it was truly delicious. The amenities were well stocked, and we were happy to have jinbei instead of yukata. Every staff member was friendly, and we had a wonderful vacation. We would love to visit again.

Although the weather in Hakone was unsettled, we had a wonderful stay as always. From our scenic Room, the drifting clouds and mist felt truly magical. The meals were carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious. Breakfast was also excellent, and we enjoyed an elegant morning while sipping a mimosa. In a relaxing and refined setting, we received excellent service and had a great stay. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

From the moment we boarded the elevator to the Ryokan from in front of Sounzan Station, it was an exciting experience. The Accommodation and all the staff welcomed us with a warm atmosphere, and everything—the Room, the carefully prepared meals, the Onsen, and the views—was wonderfully soothing. We were able to spend a slow, quiet, luxurious time. Thank you very much.

For dog lovers, traveling can be a challenge. This time we chose an Accommodation where our dog could stay too, and it was a great success. The Room was spacious enough to spend time comfortably with a small dog. The Room was very clean, and the property had lots of Japanese art—like a small museum. We enjoyed the indoor bath, open-air bath, sauna, and cold plunge while admiring the stunning tile murals on the walls. And the biggest highlight was the meals. We upgraded our plan, and it was truly excellent—beautifully prepared and delicious. We did feel that beer and other drinks were a bit pricey. The service was polite, and even the international staff were attentive, so we were very comfortable throughout our stay. This is an Accommodation we will definitely return to.

From the front desk with a panoramic view of Hakone’s great natural scenery to the Room with a private open-air bath, everything was excellent! The food was also very satisfying. The incense service and drink service were plentiful and much appreciated. The staff were very kind as well. We’ll be back!

This was my second stay. When I called in advance to ask about setting up an oxygen concentrator, the staff responded very kindly and courteously, which made me feel at ease about my visit. On the day, they thoughtfully arranged a first-floor Room for me, and I truly appreciated their attention to detail. The Room itself was spacious, and I was able to relax comfortably throughout my stay. Thanks to their warm hospitality, it was a wonderful stay. I would definitely like to stay here again.

I stayed here with my wife for our wedding anniversary. The Room and the in-room bath were very clean, and we were able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious no matter what we tried, and we were truly impressed. All of the staff were kind, and greeted us every time we saw them, so even though it was just a one-night stay, we felt very comfortable throughout. If we have the opportunity, I sincerely hope to stay here again. Thank you very much for providing such a wonderful experience.

This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

We are always very satisfied with the pleasant hospitality, delicious meals, and relaxing Onsen. This time, we chose the teppanyaki dinner course for the first time, and it was delicious and very satisfying. It made us want to visit again right away, so as soon as we returned home, we promptly made our next Reservation. We look forward to staying with you again.

We usually travel as a couple a few times a year, mainly to Hakone, but this time we stayed one night at “Rinpo Kiryū” for our first family trip, including several celebrations. We have had the chance to visit many Accommodations, but we have never encountered one as wonderful as this—everything from start to finish was truly moving. We arrived about an hour before check-in time, yet we were warmly welcomed without hesitation. From the lovely commemorative photos for our celebration to the heartfelt message card with a photo, we were touched by the surprise hospitality and thoughtful care. We are genuinely grateful to have made so many unforgettable memories for our family trip. Thank you very much. Above all, what deserves special mention is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. From greeting us on arrival to seeing us off at the end, every moment was outstanding, and we were able to spend a truly relaxing time. Our assigned staff member was incredibly kind and always smiling; we enjoyed chatting with them, and our whole family was impressed by their attentive care down to the smallest details. The guidance around the property—like a paradise far removed from everyday life—was also thorough and considerate, and everyone we met greeted us with warm smiles that put us at ease. The Room was very spacious and kept beautifully clean. The bed was also ideal for us—comfortable without sinking in or feeling overly soft. (My wife is quite particular about beds and rarely says this at other Accommodations; I was surprised when she said she wanted to stay another night and didn’t want to go home yet.) During our stay, there was a private open-air Onsen bath exclusively for our Room with free-flowing water from 100% natural source spring water—no added water or heating—from the rare Dogashima Onsen source said to be “legendary,” so we could enjoy an Onsen soak anytime we liked. In addition, there is an indoor hinoki Onsen bath, a private sauna, and even a pool, which allowed our family to enjoy many different experiences together. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious; each dish was beautifully presented with great care and full of creative ideas from the chef. There were also many staff members on hand—the service felt perfect. In my experience so far, it’s rare to find an Accommodation where service is this attentive in every respect. More than anything else, being able to stay at “Rinpo Kiryū” became a wonderful experience for our family. Thank you again very much. We would love to visit again.
