My sister and I planned this trip to make my elderly parents’ wish to “come again” come true, and we returned for the first time in three years. My father, who has limited mobility, was hospitalized a few times during those three years, so we were truly happy that we could all visit again together. In the barrier-free connecting room we stayed in this time, you had already prepared the same items as last time—such as a dining table and shower chair—before we even asked. Thanks to that, my father was able to relax and fully enjoy the hot springs he loves, and we had a very comfortable stay. Every dish over both nights was delicious, with so many courses that we enjoyed them with our eyes as well. Thank you also for your thoughtful celebration—it became an unforgettable memory for our family. We are grateful for everything: the cheerful and attentive care from the staff member in charge of our room, the warm hospitality from all staff, and the station pick-up/drop-off service with a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. This parent-child trip was only possible because of Aoyama Yamato, and we were able to spend peaceful time with my parents again after so long. This is an inn where we feel safe returning again and again. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

Three days before our stay, my son suddenly decided to join us, so I called to ask if it would be okay to increase the number of guests. You kindly accommodated the change, which was a great help. Once again, the meals were delicious. We took our time choosing from the menu, and everything we selected was excellent—everyone was very satisfied. I was also happy to see that improvements had been made so the cypress bath in the large public bath is less slippery. We were able to have dinner served in our room again, and we truly appreciate all the help from the staff member in charge. This inn is highly recommended—you can fully enjoy both the hot springs and meals thanks to everyone’s warm hospitality. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

We stayed again because we loved the meals and the baths at Powell. The food was even better than before, both in quality and quantity, so we wanted to stay again and checked the rates during our stay. It felt like it went from a very satisfying place you could stay for just over ¥10,000 to a good place in the high ¥10,000 range. If possible, we’d appreciate plans to fill last-minute vacancies so we can stay at a slightly more affordable rate.

Ito Kowakien is a place I was taken to as a child. I visited again for the first time in 30 years, this time with my wife, and every staff member we encountered was wonderful—their smiles, their words, and their service. After returning home, it made me want to be kinder to others. Thank you for continuing to be here just as you always have. I hope to visit again on another special occasion.

The Room, the bath, and the private bath were all great. The food was also excellent. There was a fireworks festival, and it was close to the venue so we could see it well. We will stay again.

The Onsen was simply wonderful! Since we were traveling as a couple, we used the private family bath, and we slept soundly afterward. It was also lovely to soak in the footbath while watching the koi. Depending on the day of the week, there’s almost nothing around nearby, so you may want to have dinner at the Hotel or eat elsewhere in advance so you can relax. Also, I understand the eco-friendly approach with fewer amenities, but it would be very helpful if at least facial lotion were provided. Still, breakfast was delicious, and overall I’m truly glad we stayed!

To satisfy my hungry junior-high grandson, I looked for a place with a delicious buffet. My husband had stayed here twice before and said the Room was spacious, so we chose it. In reality, the roomy interior let each of us relax at our own pace, and the services—like the drink bar and after-bath ice cream—were excellent. My grandson was thrilled. We enjoyed playing in the pool and the Onsen pool, and we also had fun at the evening festival stalls. All of the staff were very kind, which left a great impression. This is a Hotel that makes you want to come back. Just one thing: it was disappointing that it felt hot inside the elevator.

I usually stay at Itoen Group properties, but this time I tried staying here with a breakfast-included Plan! There are various shops nearby, so not having dinner included was no problem at all. I came by motorcycle, and it was raining quite heavily on the day of checkout, so when I told them I wanted to extend my stay, they looked into options and arranged it for me. The staff were very helpful, and I had a very satisfying stay. Next time, I’d like to try the Plan with dinner included.

This was my first stay here. Although it was listed as “limited availability due to exterior construction,” it didn’t bother me at all. (The view from the large public bath was more than enough!) The Japanese-style room was spacious, and I felt truly pampered. The 15 m pool was small but still very satisfying, and the hot-spring public bath and sauna were excellent. I love walking around town, so I explored the covered shopping street from Ito Station on the way—and it felt like, “Wait, I’m already at the hotel?” I’d like to make this my regular place to stay whenever I visit Ito.

As dinner is not included by default, you can relax and enjoy your stay at your own pace with no time constraints. Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the baths. With private reservable baths and a large public bath, this is highly recommended for hot spring lovers.

The Accommodation itself is compact, but the detached annex is impressive and offers plenty of space. The meals were distinctive yet delicious. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared.

I have stayed here many times. At a typical Ryokan, I’m a light eater, so the meals served are often more than I can finish. For that reason, wherever I go, I stay without meals included. I eat at nearby restaurants and order only what I want and can finish. It’s cheaper and makes for a more relaxed trip. From that perspective, Kameya Rakkan is the best Hotel. Of course, the staff are kind as well, and I appreciate their attentive service. I will stay again.

The Room did not have a private bath, but it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets had a wide variety of dishes, and everything tasted great. There were chairs in the smoking area as well, so I was able to relax comfortably. It was a Hotel I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

As a middle-aged guest who loves Itoen Hotels, I had always wanted to stay at the main building in Ito. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. The biggest highlight was the Onsen. The free-flowing hot spring water felt like a luxury. Even in Ito Onsen, where the volume of hot spring water is abundant, I believe there are only a limited number of Accommodations that offer true free-flowing baths. The clear, gentle water was easy to soak in and warmed me through. Regarding the Room, mine was on the third floor up a staircase. As this is an older Hotel with many stairs, it may be challenging for guests with limited mobility, but it also gave me a chance to reflect on an era when things were likely less convenient than they are today. The riverside view from the Room I worked hard to reach was charming and atmospheric. As for meals and drinks, there may have been fewer options than at other Itoen group Hotels, but it was more than enough for me. The sashimi and local dishes were especially good. I also appreciated that they offered several types of sake. Another great feature of this Hotel is that guests can play the grand piano. Many Hotels have pianos but do not allow guests to touch them, so I was impressed by this service. Unfortunately, the available playing time was short and overlapped completely with dinner hours, so there was practically no time to play. To make matters worse, one male guest monopolized the piano all evening without leaving it once. It felt unfair to see many other guests lingering around the lobby who likely wanted to try it or take photos as well. Still, that issue lies with the guest rather than the Hotel—I hope they continue offering this service. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

The three-building hot spring tour was absolutely amazing! We visited all of them—the Main Building, Annex, and Matsukawa-kan. Only the Main Building had a sauna, but each one had its own charm. They’re only about a 2-minute walk apart, so you can easily go around without getting chilled. With the men’s/women’s bath swap times included, we got to enjoy lots of different baths, and that alone made us very satisfied. The courtyard was also beautiful. Personally, my favorite was the open-air rock bath at Matsukawa-kan. It’s true the facilities are old, but everything is properly cleaned, and it still has the atmosphere of a classic high-end ryokan—so at this price point it felt like a great deal. Dinner was also a pleasant surprise—the fried food fair was delicious!! It reminded me of kushikatsu places like Kushikatsu Tanaka; the sauce was great and I couldn’t stop eating.

We are a couple in our 50s and 60s. Last week, we stayed in a room with an open-air bath. It was a nice oceanfront room, but it was disappointing that we couldn’t see the sunrise over the horizon. The bathtub was large and there was plenty of hot water, so we enjoyed it four times. We had both dinner and breakfast at the dining area; it felt comfortable with semi-private seating and pleasant music, and everything was delicious. Buffet-style dining is nice too, but if you want to enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace, this style is better. We checked in at 3:00 PM and checked out at 10:30 AM the next day. We were able to relax and were very satisfied. We would like to stay again.

This is a hotel run by an elderly couple. The parking lot is a little far away, but they will guide you properly, which was helpful. If you only need a place to sleep and a shower, there’s no problem. Also, it’s better to bring your own hair dryer.

This was our first stay as a couple in our late 40s with our 2-year-old Maltipoo. Just as the reviews said, it completely changed our idea of what a guesthouse can be. The hot spring water was even better than at many luxury ryokan, the meals were delicious, and above all, the staff genuinely adored our Maltipoo, leaving us feeling truly refreshed in both body and mind. The building has some age to it, but it has been thoughtfully renovated in places—so it’s not only clean, but also stylish and full of good taste. The amenities and loungewear were well prepared and made for a very comfortable stay. Our room had an en-suite toilet and washbasin area; the simple interior design, large tasteful mirror, and spotless cleanliness made it so impressive that we found ourselves thinking we’d love to have a toilet like this at home. The room size was just right, and the bed’s size and firmness were perfect—very comfortable. We were initially worried about having a shared refrigerator, but it actually worked out better: it was more convenient (and cheaper) than going back and forth to vending machines with coins. The other guests—perhaps many are repeat visitors—greeted us warmly as if passing each other on a mountain trail. We also appreciated the free drinks in the shared space; I ended up spending late nights reading with coffee in hand. The night view from the terrace was amazing. That evening we could hear taiko drums from Ito town echoing through the mountains—it felt wonderfully atmospheric. Usually we’re exhausted on the way home from trips, but this time my husband said for the first time that he wanted to stay again—and we completely agreed. On our way back we happened to see festival floats in Ito town; while watching them, one of your staff members spotted us during their shopping run, stopped their motorbike just to say hello—it made us so happy. And we went ahead and booked our next stay already. We’ll work hard until then—we can’t wait!

The interior is a bit dated, which felt pleasantly nostalgic for our generation. The staff were not rigidly formal or by-the-book, but offered warm, traditional hospitality. The bath was very relaxing, and the meals were fresh and thoroughly satisfying. Thank you very much for your kindness during our stay. We would love to visit again.
