From check-in, we had a very positive impression, and the rest of the staff were equally wonderful. The dining staff were all from overseas, but they served us with smiles and great dedication, and it was clear they are well trained. The food was delicately seasoned and served at just the right time to enjoy it at its best, and at breakfast we appreciated the thoughtful touch of having warm tableware. The bath was also spacious and very relaxing. We visited in midsummer this time, so we would love to return in a different season.

This was our sixth stay, and every time we have enjoyed a fun and comfortable visit. All three private open-air (and semi-open-air) baths are available to use as often as you like. Both dinner and breakfast are generous in portion size, perfectly seasoned, and always leave us completely satisfied.

I’ve stayed at various Vacation Villages, but Retreat Azumino Hotel was completely different from any of them! This Hotel is too good to enjoy in just one night. It made me want a Multiple Night Stay. It’s quiet, spotless, and I have nothing to complain about.

The full-course dinner in the evening was our child’s first experience, and it was a wonderful one. Everything at breakfast was delicious. The restaurant staff were warm and attentive, which really impressed us. We would definitely like to visit again.

We stayed as a family of three. It was an Accommodation with about 10 Rooms, where we could spend a very relaxing time. Depending on the time of day, the Onsen felt like it was reserved for private use. It was great to be able to choose from six types of shampoo. The food was also very delicious.

We stayed here in early October with our 1-year-old son. The spacious hinoki cypress hot-spring bath was especially relaxing and wonderful. The breakfast rice with wasabi and the coffee were also delicious. Every area of the room was clean and roomy, and the appliances such as the washing machine and coffee machine came with clear, detailed instructions that were easy to follow. Even with a small child, we were able to stay comfortably and with peace of mind for the following reasons: - Unlike a hotel, it’s a private space where you don’t have to worry about noise. - There are toys and books for a wide range of ages (from wooden cars and trains for little ones to Othello that adults can enjoy too). - There are beds, but you can also lay out futons in the tatami room, so there’s no worry about falling. (Since the tatami room has shoji screens, we placed a table and unused pillows as a precaution to prevent mischief.) We stayed for one night this time, but it felt like a place where we’d love to relax longer next time. We would definitely stay again when traveling to Azumino.

We stayed with a group of six and were very satisfied! The space was great, and the bathroom was excellent!

I had a wonderful holiday. I would love to stay here again.

I was able to relax in the Room while looking out at the lush green trees and enjoy a soothing, restful time. The meals were also delicious; I took my time enjoying the course dinner, and for breakfast I had a Japanese set meal. Both the presentation and taste were excellent.

This was our second stay, and this time we enjoyed a three-night Multiple Night Stay. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the amenities and bath facilities were excellent. The Room was spacious and spotless, with beautiful interior design. Thanks to the thoughtful care shown to guests, we had a truly comfortable trip—thank you. Whenever we visit Azumino, this is the Accommodation we choose.

I had used the Onsen several times as a day trip, but this was my first time staying overnight. The toothbrush provided in the amenities was a bit hard, but that’s easy to solve by bringing my own next time. Other than that, I had a comfortable stay with no complaints. My Room had a view of Mt. Jonen, but since I arrived at night I couldn’t see it then. I enjoyed Mt. Jonen the next morning, but I left in a hurry and couldn’t take my time to fully appreciate the view, which was a bit disappointing. Next time, I plan to check in while it’s still light and enjoy everything properly. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a twin Room, and I wish it had been a bit more spacious. Other than that, I was able to spend my time comfortably, so it was good.

After sightseeing in Kamikochi, we drove and enjoyed a relaxing Onsen as a couple. The open-air bath in the special Room was located in a spacious garden, allowing us to spend time at ease. The Room was also large with beautiful decor, providing a comfortable stay. We would love to visit again.
