It’s been a while, but this was our third visit. With prices rising these days, we arrived with both hope and a bit of worry—would it still feel as satisfying as before? Those worries disappeared the moment we arrived at the Accommodation. Being greeted in the parking area, the welcome drink in the lobby, and being escorted to our Room—every interaction was so pleasant that we immediately felt at ease. The interior remains simple and impeccably clean, which is always refreshing. At dinner, when I asked for tissues, they brought them together with a small trash container. I thought it was such a thoughtful touch—and even though breakfast was served in a different location the next morning, tissues had been prepared there as well. Everyone working at Nagomino is wonderful and attentive down to every detail. Our stay made us truly happy. Thank you very much—we would love to return again.

The full-course dinner in the evening was our child’s first experience, and it was a wonderful one. Everything at breakfast was delicious. The restaurant staff were warm and attentive, which really impressed us. We would definitely like to visit again.

From check-in, we had a very positive impression, and the rest of the staff were equally wonderful. The dining staff were all from overseas, but they served us with smiles and great dedication, and it was clear they are well trained. The food was delicately seasoned and served at just the right time to enjoy it at its best, and at breakfast we appreciated the thoughtful touch of having warm tableware. The bath was also spacious and very relaxing. We visited in midsummer this time, so we would love to return in a different season.

At first, the entrance felt quiet and almost lonely, but it seems the Accommodation is designed so guests don’t often cross paths; once you get used to it, it’s very comfortable. The baths were great, and the meals were excellent—showing the chef’s attention to detail and offering a wide variety of dishes. All of this was made possible by the warm hospitality of every staff member. It was a wonderful Accommodation.

I’ve stayed at various Vacation Villages, but Retreat Azumino Hotel was completely different from any of them! This Hotel is too good to enjoy in just one night. It made me want a Multiple Night Stay. It’s quiet, spotless, and I have nothing to complain about.

We stayed in a private cottage with an exclusive dog run! The cottage was very clean, quiet, and extremely comfortable.\nDinner was catered in the Room, but there were no drink services, so we went to a convenience store in the evening to buy some. We strongly felt it was necessary to bring our own items in advance.\nThe reception was far from the Room, and the guidance felt a bit rough, so we rated it 4 stars. However, we were very satisfied with the Room and found the hinoki bath soothing. We will stay again!

I used public transportation and the Shuttle Service. When I realized our cottage was the farthest from the Hotel where check-in takes place, I was worried, but they kindly provided a Shuttle Service to the cottage. I truly appreciated it. The person who greeted us at the entrance during check-in had a wonderful smile. The cottage didn’t have air conditioning in the bedroom, so we laid futons in the tatami room and slept there, and it was very comfortable. All of the staff were excellent, and we had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much. If it could be improved so that calls to the front desk don’t go unanswered for such a long time, it would have been even more comfortable. (I couldn’t get through for about an hour…) I understand it may be difficult since Reservations can be made through various sites, but for guests using public transportation and the Shuttle Service, it would be helpful to assign a cottage as close as possible. If that isn’t possible, it would be great if guests could arrange a Shuttle Service Reservation to their cottage in advance. Truly, all of your staff were courteous and made our stay wonderful. This stylish A-frame vacation home is in a very quiet location. It’s far more spacious than staying in a Hotel Room, and even our family of five could truly relax without feeling cramped at all. Thanks to the baby amenities you provided, our stay was genuinely comfortable and very helpful. We sincerely appreciate your thoughtful attention to detail. The Onsen is fed directly from the source, so it may feel hot at first, but you can quickly adjust it by adding water and enjoy an exceptional soak.

From the reservation stage, the owner made various thoughtful arrangements to accommodate food allergies. The hotel interior features a rare piano, paintings, and beautiful furnishings, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. Each dish was prepared with care and was both gentle and delicious. In early July during the rainy season, four of us visited by car from Tokyo and stayed for two nights. The location was convenient, with Shinshu soba restaurants, the Daio Wasabi Farm in Azumino, and museums nearby. We bought fresh local vegetables, meat, and sake at a roadside station and at Super Tsuruya, then enjoyed making dinner together. It was also nice to relax on floor cushions at the low table rather than a dining table. On the second day we decided to head to Kamikochi. The mountains were hidden by rain, but we hiked through beautiful nature all the way to the sacred Myojin Pond. At night, soaking in the Onsen water in the hinoki bath soothed our tired legs. The next morning, we toasted apple pie from Nishitoya Sanso’s shop in Kamikochi and took our time enjoying it with the provided specialty coffee while looking out at the garden. Despite the rain, this Accommodation gave us a rich getaway we could never have in Tokyo—an extremely satisfying stay with friends! On our way home we stopped by Setsuro Takahashi Memorial Museum (about 15 minutes away by car); both the architecture and exhibits were wonderful, as was the garden—highly recommended.

Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day! The Facility is old, but the toilets and washbasins were new, and the Room’s air conditioner was also new, which was great. Breakfast was excellent—the rice was exceptionally delicious, the pork soup (made without miso) was wonderful, and the other side dishes were also tasty. This is an Accommodation I would love to stay at again next time. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay. We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. Thank you for your advice on our plans, which turned out to be spot-on. The owner's warm personality made a great impression, and our family was already discussing on the way home when we could visit again!

With fewer guests, I was able to enjoy a relaxing soak in the lukewarm radium Onsen. Meals were served at the restaurant, likely due to the large number of day-trip group visitors. While some dishes, like the okra tempura, were a bit too hard, overall they were delicious. We chose a slightly small Japanese-style room for our stay; however, my elderly mother would have appreciated having a chair. Although there were moments where staff shortages seemed apparent, our requests were accommodated and we had an overall satisfying stay at this accommodation.

We stayed here last year with our dog, and this year we stayed again for two nights. We went out during the day, so we mainly just used the Accommodation to sleep. The first night was very comfortable because we were the only guests, but on the second night there was a family with a small child in the Room next door, and the voices and crying were quite loud. Our dog reacted by barking and couldn’t settle down... It would have been perfect if not for that. The hostess was friendly and easy to talk to, and we said, “See you again next year!”

There is an accommodation on the eastern hillside of the basin. Even if you call out from the greenery-surrounded entrance, it seems that the staff focused on cooking in the back cannot hear you. The surprised owner kindly carried my heavy luggage effortlessly to the second floor. The twin room on the second floor feels like staying in a friend's attic room, decorated with floral patterns. It is a bright room with a great view, offering a wide panorama of the Alps. The bathroom has no separate washing area and includes a toilet and bathtub together. Dinner starts precisely on time, featuring dishes made from handmade ingredients accompanied by detailed explanations—truly gourmet cuisine. At night, it’s quiet; only the sound of water flowing from a nearby stream can be heard. The night view of Azumino Plain combined with an expansive and clear sky full of stunning stars seen from the terrace is breathtaking. Morning also begins punctually. The terrace overlooking mountain ranges was very comfortable. Everything at this auberge seems to revolve around prioritizing cuisine, reflecting the passionate dedication of its owner-chef to their craft—it’s truly impressive!

I was able to relax in the Room while looking out at the lush green trees and enjoy a soothing, restful time. The meals were also delicious; I took my time enjoying the course dinner, and for breakfast I had a Japanese set meal. Both the presentation and taste were excellent.

After sightseeing in Kamikochi, we drove and enjoyed a relaxing Onsen as a couple. The open-air bath in the special Room was located in a spacious garden, allowing us to spend time at ease. The Room was also large with beautiful decor, providing a comfortable stay. We would love to visit again.

This was my second stay. It’s so quiet that it feels like having the place to myself, so I choose it when I want to relax alone. As it’s a twin Room, it’s more than spacious enough for one person, and there’s also a microwave, so even with takeout you can enjoy a warm meal. They also provide complimentary bottled water. Since I love Onsen but don’t do well with large public baths, I really appreciate being able to soak in an Onsen bath in the Room (I used it three times). The breakfast wappa bento and miso soup were delicious, and the portion size was just right. I’ll definitely stay again when I feel like unwinding.
