This was our first stay because it’s a Hotel where you can stay with pets. Unfortunately it rained, but there was an indoor dog run, which was great. Our dog wore a diaper inside the Hotel, but some dogs in the dog run were not wearing diapers and had accidents there, so I wish diapers were required in the indoor dog run. There were also pet toilet sheets available, so it would have been nice if they used those. Dinner was fully booked so we couldn’t eat there, but breakfast was delicious. The corn soup was especially good. Our dog also seemed to enjoy the “wan-burg” and finished it all. The staff were very dog-friendly and kind. It would have been even better if the Hotel had an Onsen. We’d like to stay again next time.

I felt it was a classic, charming old Japanese Hotel. The building’s presence, the restaurant, the guest rooms, and the interior were all wonderful. I stayed on a Plan with breakfast and dinner included. The food was just as delicious as what you’d find at Hotels in Tokyo, and they kindly accommodated my dietary dislikes so I could fully enjoy the meals. All of the staff provided excellent service, and I felt everything throughout my stay was great. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

We traveled as three generations with my mother and my 90-year-old grandmother. The meals and the service were very reassuring—just what you’d expect from a Hotel that also hosts weddings. The bath had a sauna, but it would have been even better with a cold plunge pool. At night we went stargazing, and in the morning we took a walk to SAWAMURA. I think it’s a great Hotel that all ages can enjoy. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay. True to its classic exterior, the hotel’s interiors and décor are refined, creating an elegant atmosphere. The building itself seems to have some age, but it has been renovated and is impeccably maintained—everything was very clean. The staff were polished and professional. What impressed me most was dinner. I’ve had French cuisine in many places, but the food here was exceptional: a wide variety of fish dishes, excellent-quality meat, and outstanding sauces. I would love to visit again.

The hotel and our room were very clean. All the staff were very friendly, and it’s a hotel I’d like to stay at again. Although the weather was bad during our stay, they lent us a dog stroller and a rain cover, which was a great help. Thank you very much. We didn’t get to meet the resident Golden Retriever, so we’d love to stay again.

I visit Karuizawa every year and usually stay at a Hotel that costs a fair amount, but this was my first time staying at this Hotel. In conclusion, it was excellent (great value for money). Key points were: 1) Great location. It’s an easy walk to both Karuizawa Station and Old Karuizawa. 2) The Room was better than expected. I reserved the largest Room, and it was very comfortable. The bath was also a large jacuzzi tub, so I could really relax. 3) Great meals. We stayed three nights with both breakfast and dinner included each day; everything tasted good, the portions were just right, and we didn’t get tired of it—very enjoyable throughout. 4) Great Facility and service. The free-flow drinks and various rental items were well stocked, which made it feel like a great deal. There weren’t many downsides—if I had to mention something, I’d say it would be nice to have a large public bath; the foreign staff member’s explanations of the dishes were sometimes a bit hard to understand; and the restaurant could be a little brighter. I’d definitely like to stay again if I have the chance. I just hope it doesn’t become so popular that the Accommodation Fee goes up too much.

This was my first stay here, and it was a truly comfortable, relaxing, and wonderful hotel. All of the staff were very kind and pleasant as well. The room felt clean and cozy, with a great view. It also had a lanai where I could enjoy coffee and unwind. Above all, the hot spring baths and breakfast were amazing. The hot spring water was excellent, and the breakfast buffet used plenty of local ingredients—it was truly delicious. It really was a fantastic hotel. Thanks to you, I had a fun and memorable trip, and I’m very grateful. Thank you so much. I’d love to visit again.

I had been looking forward to my stay at Manpei Hotel, but after arriving I became unwell and developed a fever over 38°C. Even so, the staff were incredibly kind—lending me a thermometer and promptly bringing an ice pack and ice. They also kindly changed all of my meals to room service, allowing me to rest and eat comfortably in my room. Although my long-awaited stay turned out differently than expected, I truly appreciated the thoughtful care and warm hospitality, especially while I wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, I ended up spending most of the time in the room this visit, but my husband was very pleased and said the in-room hot spring bath was wonderful. While I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the hotel in perfect health, the kindness of the staff is what stayed with me most. Next time, I would love to return when I’m feeling well and take my time enjoying this historic hotel and its dining. Thank you very much for everything.

Our family of four stayed for two nights. From check-in onward, the Hotel staff were wonderfully welcoming, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. What impressed us most was the outstanding hospitality of everyone on the team. Not only the person who assisted us at check-in, but also the staff during meals were consistently courteous and attentive. It never felt like formal or scripted service—just genuine care that made dining as a family truly enjoyable. The Onsen was also fantastic, and we were able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. Spending two nights together as a family made for a truly wonderful trip. There are many reasons to choose a Hotel—Facilities, location, and more—but what really makes you want to come back is the warmth of the people who work there. We were all very satisfied. When we visit Karuizawa again, we would love to stay here again. Thank you for such a lovely time.

This was my first stay, and it was an excellent property. It’s a new, sophisticated hotel, and every area of the facility—from the sense of vertical space to the way shadows are used and the carefully designed indirect lighting—made me want to stay there all day. The dining experience was also wonderful, with well-spaced seating, thoughtful staff check-ins, perfect timing of service, and clear explanations of each dish. I would love to return in a different season. Thank you to all the staff.

The room was clean and well maintained. It was a bit disappointing that we had to take a bus to the hot springs, but since check-out is at 12:00, we were able to go after breakfast and relax. I didn’t know you could play the golf course at such reasonable rates, so I’d like to use it next time.

This was my third stay. It’s conveniently located near Karuizawa Station, making it easy to go anywhere. There’s a convenience store and a small supermarket right in front, so you won’t have any trouble with quick shopping. The Room is always clean and well maintained, and I had another very comfortable stay this time. The front desk staff provide calm, understated service, but they are very kind and keep a pleasant sense of distance. The lounge offers coffee, tea, and more, and you can relax in the spacious area. It seems a bar has recently opened as well, so I’d like to try it next time. I think this Hotel is easy to use for both solo stays and family trips. My elderly mother also really likes it and says she wants to stay at this Hotel again on our next visit to Karuizawa. Considering the location, cleanliness, comfort, and Accommodation Fee, I’m very satisfied. I think it’s a great value Hotel. I’d love to stay again.

Close to the station, with an outlet mall just nearby, so the location is very convenient. Also, since we have children, we signed up for Picchio’s animal tour and insect tour within the Hotel and joined in. The guide explained everything carefully, and we enjoyed it a lot, so I highly recommend it. The Hotel grounds are vast, and shuttle buses run until late between Karuizawa Prince West, Animal, Hot Spring, and the outlet mall, which was very convenient. We woke up early and took a walk around the Hotel grounds. The fresh air was wonderful, and the sun filtering through the trees was truly soothing. The Onsen was great as well, and above all, all of the staff were very kind and pleasant—it really felt like they are well trained. I will definitely stay at this Hotel again.

The complimentary drinks in the lobby lounge, the Room, the Onsen, the parking service, and access to the shopping mall were all excellent.

I stayed for one night with my parents. The room was very spacious and stylish, yet it felt calm and relaxing. We enjoyed the sauna and unwound in the large bath. The bed was wide and very comfortable. I had read in a Review that breakfast portions were small, but for older guests it was more than enough, and we really enjoyed the delicious freshly cooked rice. I would love to stay again.

I stayed here because of its convenient location for enjoying a concert at Ohga Hall. This Hotel has a quiet atmosphere that lets you feel Karuizawa’s history. Thanks to the kind and attentive service from the staff, I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. Thank you very much. However, I felt that seniors should be careful of the step in the bathroom.

In early autumn in Karuizawa, I was able to enjoy delicious cuisine in a quiet setting. I arrived a little early, before 3:00 p.m., tired from the drive, but the welcome drink was nicely chilled, and the florentines left in the room were crisp and delicious. Although it was close to central Karuizawa, it was a lovely auberge with an attractive exterior, surrounded by forest and offering a calm, peaceful atmosphere. Inside, while the doors, windows, and other fittings had a classic style, everything was kept clean and there were no issues with usability; the furniture and small decorative touches were also charming. The lighting fixtures had a lovely lamp-like design, but they were somewhat dim—I would have appreciated an additional light for reading. For dinner, I was disappointed that one of the two restaurants (Pyrenees) was closed, so I chose French cuisine at the main building instead. It was a French course with subtle Japanese influences and priced on the higher side at ¥22,000. The main dish was duck (a bit early for the season), though there may be room for improvement in its arrangement; however, the wine pairing selected for us matched beautifully. Dessert consisted of two carefully crafted dishes using seasonal fruit. Considering this attentive service as part of the experience—and given that prices have risen everywhere over the past year—I felt it couldn’t be helped. The bathroom had a Western-style tub along with a separate shower booth and was well equipped overall; however, as someone with a smaller build (and over 70), I found it slightly concerning that the tub floor felt slippery and deep/high without anything to hold onto when getting in or out. I would appreciate consideration for elderly guests. Overall, it had an elegant and relaxing atmosphere.

It was a hotel where you could truly feel the unique atmosphere of Karuizawa. Surrounded by trees—including some with autumn leaves—it felt like walking along the tree-lined streets of Karuizawa’s villa area. Just looking at the scenery was relaxing, and it also had a luxurious feel. At night, everything was beautifully illuminated, and we walked to the spa building while enjoying the view. The dinner was thoughtfully crafted and could be enjoyed in a calm setting. The breakfast was also delicious across the board. It’s a hotel that made me want to stay at Indigo again when I visit Karuizawa. Thank you very much.

It was a rainy day, so it was helpful that the Hotel was close to the station. All of the Hotel staff were pleasant and welcoming. For breakfast, I had salad, bread, and soup, and everything was delicious and satisfying. There were board games in the free drinks area, which we enjoyed. It was a great Hotel that I would like to stay at again.

You can walk to both Karuizawa Station and Kumoba Pond. It’s a slightly retro Hotel, with no elevator, and the shower and hair dryer are standard. That said, it has a nostalgic charm that I really liked. Meals were served at seats overlooking the garden greenery, and it was comfortable even when dining alone. Of course, the food was delicious. The staff were also very pleasant.
