Everyone at the Ryokan was very attentive and provided excellent service, so I felt completely at ease during my stay. The meals were also kaiseki cuisine, and both dinner and breakfast were filling—I was very satisfied. The indoor bath also had a wonderful atmosphere and was great. I would love to visit again. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The Facilities, the staff’s atmosphere, and the meals were all excellent. It was clear that each staff member truly loves dogs and enjoys working here. We would definitely like to stay again.

We traveled with our 3-month-old baby. With breakfast and dinner served in the Room and a private bath, we were able to relax and take our time. The staff kindly laid out the futons early and spoke to us gently, and their warm hospitality was truly comforting. The meals at the restaurant were excellent—we even had seconds of rice. Both the Room and the garden were beautifully maintained, making our stay very pleasant. We had wondered if it would be an issue without an open-air bath, but the in-Room bath was more than enough for us to enjoy.

The Onsen, the food, the service, and the Room were all beyond our expectations, and we were able to truly relax. It had been a while since we stayed in a Japanese-style room; lying on the tatami and gazing at the garden, we enjoyed the luxury of doing absolutely nothing. The only disappointment was that while the private bath has a wonderful ocean view, there is an apartment building directly in front of it, and I was quite concerned that the washing area might be visible from there.

Surrender to a serene space and listen to the sounds of the gorge as time passes quietly. The in-room Onsen, kept at a gentle temperature, invites you to soak slowly as body and mind unwind. This timeworn wooden building lives on, its age transformed into beauty. Every corner of the Accommodation is carefully maintained, and its presence carries unmistakable elegance. And then—clear dashi broth, the richness of local fish, and the fragrance of matsutake mushrooms. Each ingredient’s character is brought out with care, with thoughtful attention to layered flavors, lingering finishes, and the flow of each kaiseki course. An Accommodation where you can come close to the essence of beauty.

This was our second stay, and everything—from the facilities and cuisine to the service—was excellent. The room was spacious and well equipped with no inconveniences at all, impeccably cleaned, and the open-air bath was also generously sized, making it wonderfully relaxing to use. The meals made great use of quality ingredients while incorporating thoughtful touches, and everything was delicious. The truffle rice at dinner (maybe it was just my imagination) seemed even more fragrant with dashi than last time—it was so good I felt like I could eat bowl after bowl! All of the staff were courteous and attentive, allowing us to enjoy a comfortable stay from start to finish. We truly felt glad we chose to stay again. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for a maternity trip and to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We were impressed by Atagawa’s charming entrance and the refined elegance of the interior. The hinoki indoor bath, stone open-air bath, and luxurious amenities such as Sekkisei and Acca Kappa made our stay feel truly indulgent. Walking through the quiet stone garden to the dining venue, “Donkon,” we found an atmosphere so sophisticated it would suit a stylish wedding ceremony. The cuisine was lavish and beautifully prepared, and we enjoyed every moment. Two things especially moved us during dinner. One was the proprietress’s warm personality—graceful yet friendly—and she kindly explained highlights of each dish. The other was their thoughtful accommodation for pregnancy. When making our Reservation, I didn’t request any changes, thinking it would be easier to have my husband eat anything I couldn’t. However, upon arrival, the staff proactively offered an alternative and changed my sashimi to miso-grilled spiny lobster. It was delicious, and we were deeply touched by their consideration. We would love to return once our baby is born.

It was a relief to see the people who had taken care of me before. Set on a quiet hill with great views, the staff were all cheerful and courteous, the Room was clean, the Onsen was relaxing, and the full-course meal was delicious—more than enough to be fully satisfied. Unfortunately it was raining when I left, but at checkout they lent me an umbrella and told me to take it home, which really helped. This is an Accommodation I would like to stay at again.

I visited for my birthday. I highly recommend coming here for any special occasion. The service is excellent.

I stayed at Fujitaya, a historic ryokan in Yugawara. What stood out first was the beautifully preserved historic building, which is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. The atmosphere of a traditional Japanese inn can be felt throughout, and despite its age, it is meticulously maintained. It didn’t feel simply “old”—it felt like a place that has been carefully protected with respect for its history, creating a truly charming setting. The highlight of this stay was the food. Dinner was served in the room as kaiseki cuisine, and every dish was delicious—I could really sense the high quality. I’m a slow eater, but the attendant kindly adjusted to my pace until the very end. They were considerate about when to bring each course, and in particular, our attendant chatted with us warmly between dishes, which made the meal even more enjoyable. It reminded me that staying at a ryokan isn’t only about eating well—it’s also about these personal interactions. I truly appreciated being able to enjoy dinner slowly along with such pleasant conversation. That said, because it is in-room kaiseki dining, staff will come in and out frequently to serve dishes and clear them away. I personally appreciated the attentive service, but for guests who prioritize privacy or quiet time in their room, this may be something to keep in mind. The hot spring baths were also excellent—especially the quality of the water. Soaking slowly in such good onsen within a historic building felt like a luxury unique to an established ryokan. It is not an inexpensive place to stay, but considering the delicious kaiseki cuisine, high-quality onsen water, and above all the thoughtful hospitality, it was more than satisfying. A wonderful ryokan that carefully preserves its historic architecture while never compromising on food or service—an experience that reminded me of what makes long-established Japanese inns so special.

The staff’s attentive hospitality and thoughtful care were truly wonderful, and I was able to spend a very comfortable stay from check-in to check-out. The interior of the property and the room features a calm Japanese-modern design in greige tones, with impeccable taste in decor. It was exactly my kind of style, so I found myself simply gazing around and feeling soothed. The rooftop lounge offered an abundant selection of juices, alcoholic drinks, coffee, Atami’s famous sweets, and light snacks. I couldn’t believe I could choose so freely—can I really have any of these?—and I got genuinely excited. Sipping drinks, enjoying sweets, soaking in the foot bath… it was such a luxurious time taking in the views of Atami. The staff also maintained the perfect level of attentiveness—providing towels to dry our feet and preparing drinks—so considerate in every way. I’m truly grateful. What especially impressed me was the full-course dinner. Each dish was beautifully presented—not only a feast for the eyes—but also had deep flavors with sauces crafted down to the finest detail. I was genuinely moved. Even now, looking back at my photos brings back that lingering feeling: how beautiful it was and how delicious everything tasted. Everything—the room, the meals, and the hospitality—was perfect. It was a place where I could truly refresh from the heart. I feel fully recharged; I’ll do my best day by day and hope to return again someday. Thank you very much.

We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The meals were truly delicious, and I was especially happy to see my mother—who usually eats lightly—enjoy so much. Even while you were busy serving, you were very attentive, and when we shared how impressed we were with the dishes, you kindly explained the ideas and techniques behind them. It made for a wonderful time. We felt refreshed by the pleasant Onsen and your thoughtful hospitality. My mother is already excited to come back next time with her friends. We stayed here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. As soon as we drove up to the entrance, the staff—already waiting—welcomed us with amazingly smooth, attentive service. I was nervous in an unfamiliar place, but before I knew it I was in the lobby with Bach playing softly, looking out at the sea and enjoying a chilled glass of champagne, my excitement building. The space was spotless and warmly appointed, and the selection of sweets, drinks, and amenities showed impeccable taste. The toothbrush was the most comfortable I’ve ever used. Above all, the bath was outstanding. With the window open, listening to birdsong and gazing at the ocean—and because it’s free-flowing—I even tried skipping a rinse-off and body cream afterward, yet my skin stayed moisturized without drying out! At dusk, the view from the lounge was beautiful. The British ginger lemonade was delicious, and we’re especially grateful to the elegant and attentive female staff member who made the lounge so wonderfully comfortable—thank you as well for preparing an orange liqueur for us at the end. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent; not only did everything taste wonderful, but the ingredients and presentation were beautiful too. That said, I couldn’t stop eating bread and butter and ended up too full by the time we reached the main course! Even so, it was cooked perfectly and tasted superb—I finished it all. Next time I’ll pace myself so I can fully enjoy everything through to the main dish. The young service staff were also highly professional and impressive. Even without mentioning that it was an anniversary—and even as first-time guests simply dropping by—we received consistently thoughtful hospitality throughout. Thank you very much.

This was my second stay—last time with my family, and this time with my mother and siblings. The ocean is right in front of you, the Room is spacious, and the hot spring source is just behind the property. The number of dishes, the staff’s service, and everything about the Onsen—its quality, cleanliness, and variety—are all just right. It’s a truly wonderful Accommodation. It seems like New Year’s holidays are decided by lottery, but I’m hoping we get selected.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The ocean was right in front of us—what a wonderful view!! The staff were all smiles and the service was excellent!! We were very satisfied with the delicious meals while enjoying the scenery. It was also great to relax on the terrace. Above all, we had been looking forward to watching the sunrise from the open-air bath in our room, and we were truly moved to see the sun rise directly over the horizon of the sea right in front of us. We had a wonderfully relaxing time. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

The Room was spacious and had a veranda-like deck called the Tsukimidai, with a nice view and the ocean visible in the distance. Meals were served in the Room, and every dish was delicious—we finished everything at both breakfast and dinner. However, it was disappointing that the drinks in the refrigerator were expensive. The Onsen also felt very open; while I did wonder if it might be visible from somewhere, I was still able to bathe comfortably. Another bath area was spacious, and the water in the roofed open-air bath left my skin feeling moisturized like lotion. Inside the building, it seems to have been expanded many times over the years, so some areas are a bit confusing, and many guests seemed to get lost. There were only a few souvenirs for sale, and there were no Facilities such as karaoke or table tennis, but it had an old-fashioned Ryokan atmosphere that we really enjoyed.

All staff members who supported us were incredibly hospitable, and it made our trip truly wonderful. Our whole family was very satisfied—thank you! The facilities were up to date, and the security was excellent. The Ryokan was also very clean and hygienic. Both dinner and breakfast were delicately and elegantly seasoned, everything was fresh, and we enjoyed every dish—it was all delicious. This is a Hotel we would definitely want to stay at again! Thank you as well for preparing surprise plates for us on two consecutive days!

Everything was amazing. Since we traveled by train, it was close to the station, and the location was great—we didn’t get wet in the rain even without an umbrella.
