From arrival to departure, the staff provided attentive and thoughtful service throughout. My plans before check-in took longer than expected and I arrived late for my spa appointment, but they kindly adjusted the schedule for me. The spa was wonderfully relaxing, and I was able to unwind. Dinner in the room was a delight for both the eyes and the palate, making full use of seasonal flavors and local ingredients. The bath I had been looking forward to met my expectations, and the open-air bath in the room felt refreshing; I also enjoyed it at a leisurely pace in the morning. They were truly supportive with everything, including arranging a taxi and advising on our next sightseeing plans. I would love to visit again when I have the chance.

On a business trip to Akita, I was driving from Tokyo and wanted to stay one night around the halfway point, so I chose Oyado Mori no Ne. What stood out first was how bright and spotless the property felt. The entrance was beautifully maintained and open, and there was a relaxing lounge area with a fireplace, so I felt at ease from the moment I arrived. Check-in wasn’t just a quick procedure at the front desk; I was guided while seated on a sofa, which left me with a strong impression of thoughtful hospitality. The room was more spacious than expected, with a great view from the window. After a long drive, having such a comfortable space to unwind in was truly appreciated. The hot spring bath was also excellent. By chance there were no other guests when I went in, so I could enjoy the large bath all to myself. The water felt relatively light, yet my skin felt smooth afterward—an extremely pleasant onsen experience. The highlight for me was the food. Although it’s a ryokan, dinner wasn’t the typical traditional kaiseki; it incorporated Western elements as well. The presentation was beautiful and enjoyable to look at, and every dish tasted wonderful too. You could really tell everything had been prepared with care, making it an exceptionally satisfying meal. I booked through Ikkyu.com and received one bottle of wine as a member benefit. Being able to enjoy it with dinner meant there was no need to order additional alcohol, which felt like an extra bonus. I originally chose this place simply as an overnight stop on my long drive from Tokyo to Akita, but it turned out to be much more than that—a stay worth enjoying in its own right. From the atmosphere and rooms to the hot spring baths, meals, and service, everything exceeded expectations. I would gladly stay again if given the chance.

I arrived after work, so unfortunately I was on a no-dinner plan. But there was an okonomiyaki restaurant just a 1–2 minute walk away, so it worked out! At check-in, there were quite a lot of people in the lobby, but the baths weren’t crowded at night or in the morning, and I was able to relax and enjoy the hot spring. The exterior and lobby feel like a traditional hot spring inn, while the rooms are more like a business hotel. Breakfast was served in a very large room, with tables prepared by group and spaced apart from neighboring seats, so even solo travelers could eat comfortably. Rice, miso soup, and drinks were buffet-style. The menu was made up of standard breakfast items, but I was satisfied. The only disappointing thing was that there were two rice cookers side by side and both showed “1 hour.” I would have liked freshly cooked rice—ideally they could have been offered at staggered times. Still, I felt everything necessary from a guest’s perspective had been prepared at a minimum level, which was impressive. All of the staff were pleasant as well! When I stayed here over 30 years ago it felt like an old hot spring inn, but it has become very clean and updated. Thank you for taking care of me.

Because we moved our trip home forward at short notice, we ended up making a Reservation the day before. From welcome to farewell, everyone at the Accommodation greeted us with warm smiles throughout. The meals—both dinner and breakfast—were just the right portions for us as a couple in our 60s, and everything was delicious. We especially enjoyed the local cuisine, steak, local sake, and local wine—it was wonderful. The younger staff also chatted with us while explaining the dishes, and our Room was quiet and relaxing, making it a great memory. If I had to mention anything, it would be nice to have two Room keys, and I would have preferred a lighter down comforter. Thank you very much.

I booked dinner mainly for the beef sukiyaki, but every other dish was delicious as well. Breakfast was also great, and I had an extra serving of rice. I also appreciated the complimentary coffee. Both dinner and breakfast were generous portions, and I was very satisfied. The Room is a bit old, but it is clean and comfortable. There is no toilet in the Room, but there is a sink, so it didn’t feel inconvenient. The bath was relaxing too. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made me feel truly happy. I would love to visit again.
