We stayed right up to the last minute from check-in to check-out. Since the Shuzenji Onsen area itself doesn’t have many sightseeing spots, we focused on fully enjoying the Accommodation instead. There were plenty of staff members around the property, and it felt like an easy place to ask for help. We were also happy with the many complimentary services. The Room felt relatively new, and it was great that a full set of Sekkisei amenities was provided.

[Room] The Room was very spacious and clean. There were five of us (two adults and three children), and we stayed comfortably. There were two beds, and we laid out three futons in the open space—there was still plenty of room. Amenities were available in the lobby to take as needed, and it was nice that we could also take tea, coffee, and even snacks in addition to toiletries. [Staff & Service] All staff members greeted us with a smile and were very kind. We also appreciated them helping carry our luggage from the car at the entrance. The dining staff were energetic and efficient, quickly clearing empty plates. [Baths] The large public bath and open-air bath were very spacious and relaxing. We could also choose from different shampoos. There were seven types of private family baths, and my wife and children tried several of them. Best of all, all seven can be used for free when available—amazing! It didn’t seem overly crowded either. The water in the cold-water dispenser in the public bath area didn’t feel very cold. I wanted to use the massage chairs, but they were busy so it was hard to get a turn, which was disappointing. Also, the foot area on the massage chair was dirty and felt a bit unhygienic; it would be great if it could be checked regularly. [Dining] The buffet had a wide variety of options and everything was delicious. We could make our own seafood rice bowls with sashimi, which was excellent. Thoughtful touches like buffet carts and bands to keep yukata sleeves out of the way were wonderful. [Facility & Amenities] The entire Facility was extremely clean. Shoes are not allowed on any floor, but walking barefoot never felt uncomfortable at all. We also appreciated that indoor socks were included in the Room towel set—a nice touch. You can choose between yukata or samue loungewear; many guests wore samue, including our family. Free welcome drinks and complimentary ice cream after bathing made everything feel wonderfully generous. There are plenty of kid-friendly areas such as a play space, family game corner, and table tennis—our children had an absolute blast.

The Room, the cuisine, and the garden were all wonderful, and we had an amazing time. The staff member in charge of our Room explained everything clearly and provided attentive, excellent service. Her lovely smile was truly comforting—thank you very much. We would definitely like to stay again.

This was our first time visiting on a family trip. Thanks to the staff’s heartfelt hospitality, we felt comfortable throughout our stay and are truly grateful. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we had a relaxing, well-cared-for stay. We would love to stay again next time as well. Thank you very much for everything!

The front desk staff were very pleasant, and their explanation of the Room was clear and helpful. The Room and the open-air bath had a wonderful atmosphere, making it a relaxing and calming day. This has become my favorite Accommodation, and I’d love to come back for another leisurely stay!

I arrived 30 minutes early, and I really appreciated you opening up for me, especially since it was raining due to the typhoon. Thank you as well for accommodating my allergies. The property is barrier-free, so I was able to get around easily in a wheelchair. There was also an Onsen in the Room that I could use 24 hours a day, which allowed me to relax and enjoy it at my own pace. All of the staff were kind, and everything was excellent. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for my mother’s birthday. I had arranged a fruit platter as an optional gift in advance, and there was also a thoughtful photo frame and message card in our Room, which made my mother very happy. Thank you for helping make it such a memorable birthday. Thanks to the proprietress’s many considerate touches, we had a comfortable and enjoyable trip. It was a truly wonderful Accommodation in every detail. The food and baths were excellent, and we were able to fully enjoy Shuzenji.

This was our first trip to Shuzenji, and staying at Goyokan made it a truly wonderful journey. Thank you very much to all the staff. The building has a charming Showa-retro atmosphere, and the stairways are decorated with goldfish paintings throughout. A staff member told us about the fun of spotting hidden telescope-eye goldfish, so we enjoyed exploring as we walked around the property. The Room was also spacious, and we were able to relax from the moment we arrived. Since our Room faced the road, next time we would love to stay in a river-side Room. We used two of the three types of baths. The open-air bath felt great in the nice weather, and the rock bath was spacious and very relaxing. The meals were delicious as well—sukiyaki for dinner, and dried fish and black rice porridge for breakfast. However, since we both have small appetites, we feel sorry that we couldn’t finish everything. Everyone on staff was truly pleasant, and they chatted with us in such an enjoyable way that it made our time even more special. Thank you very much.

Stayed for one night with my beloved dog on a December weekend. This was my second visit, and this time I stayed in a Japanese-Western Room. The spaciousness of the room is great, and the raised tatami area separating the Japanese and Western styles is a nice touch. The lounge food was even more delicious than last time. The public bath, which was lukewarm before, was slightly hotter this time, which suited me perfectly. At the dog run, we had fun playing with other dogs as well. The customer service remains excellent, and both the breakfast buffet and made-to-order omelets were delightful again this time. My dog seemed to enjoy it too—completely satisfied! I’ll likely visit again.

The Room was spacious and clean, and the private open-air Onsen bath had a great view and was wonderful. The property is large and the route to the front desk was a bit hard to find, but the phone support was helpful and we arrived without getting lost.

Conveniently located near a bus stop with easy access from Shuzenji Station. Convenience stores and restaurants are also nearby, making it very convenient. We enjoyed strolling through the charming streets of Shuzenji and relaxing in the Onsen, spending a peaceful time. Thank you very much.

The spacious grounds are surrounded by greenery, with numerous facilities that exceeded my expectations in size. The service was attentive, the food was delicious, and I felt the cost performance was excellent. This time I stayed alone, but next time I would like to visit with my family.

We enjoyed the Reservation-only open-air bath, the cave bath, and having them privately. We expected it to be crowded during Obon, but we were lucky to enter the cave bath smoothly. In the morning, the large public bath also felt like we had it all to ourselves—another lucky moment. The meals were enjoyable both dinner and breakfast, with a wide variety of dishes. The eel was delicious. The Room was spacious and comfortable. One thing: both beds squeaked a lot, which surprised us. The mattress and bedding were comfortable, so that was disappointing.

Since it was a weekday, we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. We were able to relax in peace and were very satisfied with our stay. The location is right in the middle of the Onsen town—Shuzenji Temple next door, a pudding shop nearby, Hakuyu Bathhouse across the street, and the illuminated Bamboo Forest Path was wonderful. We also enjoyed gyoza and beer at a local Chinese restaurant recommended by the Accommodation staff. Since we stayed for hiking, it was reasonably priced and more than enough for us! There is a shared refrigerator you can use freely, cutlery, mineral water, and hot water (a bit lukewarm) in the kettle. The Accommodation is a little dry, so having a humidifier would make it perfect—but that might be asking too much… It may be a good idea to bring a moisturizing sleep mask. We would love to stay again.

This Accommodation offers self-catering and a great value stay with an Onsen. Last time we had bunk beds, but this time there was also a Room with two standard single beds. Since it was a cold season, the draft from the window felt very cold. Other than that, I think it’s an excellent value Accommodation.

Located in the heart of Shuzenji, it offers easy access to local sightseeing spots. The hot spring bath is a little on the hot side with free-flowing natural source water. Breakfast and dinner are served in generous portions. It is an Accommodation that feels like coming home to your family house.
