I’ve stayed at several Accommodations that welcome dogs, but this was the first place where I never once felt restricted “because we have a dog.” Surrounded by nature, it’s a truly soothing space for both people and dogs. I was amazed by the huge 1,200-tsubo lawn garden and even a pool where people can swim too. I was genuinely happy to be able to relax and let my dog roam freely. And I was surprised to be able to enjoy an Onsen in Chiba. What’s more, our Room had a luxurious open-air bath carved from a massive stone! Being able to enjoy the Onsen at any time without worrying about others was the best. Another great point for us was having a two-bedroom layout—an absolute must for our family. I never imagined traveling with our dog could be this comfortable, free, and luxurious… It truly was an amazing time. A wonderful Accommodation where both dogs and people can forget everyday life and fully unwind—we’d love to visit again.

We stayed one night at Den-en on a dinner-and-breakfast plan. The traditional house has been beautifully renovated and was very comfortable. Each room has its own distinct character, so simply moving from one space to another changes the mood—you can relax without ever getting bored, even while staying indoors. As other guests have mentioned in reviews, it is true that despite the large bathtub there is no reheating function, and the water flow from the tap is low, so it takes time to fill—this is certainly a drawback. However, they had already filled it to some extent for our check-in, so it wasn’t too inconvenient. We also used the sauna; it faces the spacious garden and felt wonderful. Using the sauna may help offset the bathtub issue to some degree. Given that “lodging and dining” comes first in the property’s description, food is clearly an important point—and true to its title as an auberge, everything was delicious. The wine pairing provided also complemented both the meal and the atmosphere of the old house perfectly, making for a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience until the very end. Lastly, the staff’s hospitality was excellent. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and felt refreshed. We would love to return if we have another opportunity.

We came back for a second try to see the fireflies after missing them last year. Perhaps thanks to the good weather and temperature that day, we were able to enjoy a breathtaking display of fireflies like a sky full of stars—it was truly moving! Being welcomed by the cats was also very soothing. We’d love to visit again next year.

I have stayed at vacation rentals several times, but this was the first time I experienced such a private space. The unique experience of being surrounded by bamboo was extraordinary and felt like an escape from everyday life. However, perhaps due to the winter cold, the sauna did not reach a high temperature, which might be unsatisfactory for those who prefer it hotter. Additionally, there was a hole blocked by bamboo on the other side of the bath that felt unsafe. For this reason, I rated the Facility slightly lower. Other than that, it is a place I would love to visit again and highly recommend!

My sister and I stayed here the night before a golf trip, and it was amazing! From the outside it looks like a castle, so we wondered what kind of Hotel it would be, but the Room was spotless, the bath was spacious, and the front desk staff were truly wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was exactly to our taste... It was such a great place that we even promised each other, “Whenever we stay the night before again, we’ll definitely choose here!” We caused trouble by making various mistakes and even getting locked out of our Room, but you handled everything so politely without showing any annoyance—thank you very much. You also helped us with a forgotten item for a separate matter, and we can’t thank you enough. We look forward to staying with you again!
