We stayed in the detached “Rijin-kyo” villa. Beautiful paintings and decorative pieces were displayed throughout the property, and simply looking at them was a delight. The Room was nothing like today’s typical “Japanese-modern” style; instead, we were able to fully appreciate refined Japanese aesthetics. At the same time, we were impressed by the thoughtful touches everywhere that made our stay so comfortable. Gazing at the meticulously maintained garden from the veranda felt as if my mind was being cleansed. The cuisine was also full of seasonal character, and each dish moved us again and again with both its flavor and presentation. Our room attendant provided truly exceptional hospitality, and her subtle attentiveness was deeply soothing. The semi-open-air bath in the Room was very comfortable, allowing us to relax and enjoy the Onsen while looking out over the garden. It was a stay that made us sincerely glad we had chosen this Accommodation. As I noted in the title, it felt like a Ryokan where staying here becomes the purpose of your trip. We are grateful to Tendo-so for giving us such a wonderful time that enriched our hearts. We would love to return in another season. Thank you very much.

Thank you again for everything. This Accommodation is outstanding in every way. Since it was May, we enjoyed a variety of mountain vegetable dishes. Even vegetables we’re not used to at home were delicious. The young bamboo shoots were truly amazing... my husband and I were so impressed. They’ve made it into our “dishes we want to eat again at Matsunoyu” ranking. (Number one is the zunda-dressed Rokuta-fu—absolutely exquisite!) Our child also said on the drive home, “I want to go to Torachan’s Onsen again,” so we’ll be back in summer. We’re really looking forward to it.

I love Yamagata’s Onsen and have visited many different places. I’ve been to almost all of Tendo, but the staff’s hospitality and the meals here were truly outstanding! The food was so delicious it ranks among the top one or two in Tendo!! We stayed in the annex, and it was perfect for us as a couple who prefer a quiet setting. Everything was very clean, and the gentle hot spring water in our Room felt just like Tendo—wonderful. This is an Accommodation I would definitely recommend. Thank you very much.

Although it is located in the city center, it was quiet, and we fully enjoyed the Onsen in the open-air bath attached to our Room. Meals were served in a private dining area directly connected to the Room; it can be locked, and during service it is separated from the guest Room, so our privacy was protected and we could relax with peace of mind. The food was also very delicious.

From the welcome pineapple cider, beer, and simmered yam konnyaku to a feast of Yamagata specialties, we were completely full! Dinner was served in beautiful dishes that made everything even more appetizing. The post-bath lounge had a wonderful atmosphere, the massage chairs were very comfortable, and we really appreciated the complimentary drinks and snacks. Of course, the baths were spacious and very relaxing! In the morning, the breakfast ramen was delicious. I chose rice porridge instead, and with so many side dishes I was very satisfied. The watermelon was sweet and tasty too.

This was a Hotel I definitely want to stay at again! Not only were the amenities and play area great, but the private family bath was surprisingly easy to use when we wanted, and we were able to relax and enjoy a bath together as a family. Free laundry and drying were also available, which was a huge help—especially with our 2-year-old, when we ran out of spare clothes and started to panic. Meals were buffet-style, so we ended up eating quite a lot and couldn’t make it for late-night snacks, which was a shame—but next time I’ll plan better (haha). Just one thing: the kids’ meals didn’t change much between breakfast and dinner, so our child got a bit bored. It would have been nice to have a little more variety.

We stayed here before and returned again a few years later, and it was still a wonderful Accommodation. The property was clean, the food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The large public bath is available from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, so I was able to enjoy the Onsen many times at different hours. Both dinner and breakfast were nourishing and truly delicious. Ryokan meals can sometimes be heavily seasoned, but here nothing was surprisingly salty, and I enjoyed everything. In the guest lounge, there were treats like dadacha-mame ice cream and Onsen manju, plus DIY Onsen eggs—these little services were a lot of fun. I also appreciated that soft drinks were unlimited. The garden is lovely, and there are also amenities like spa treatments, table tennis, and a large shogi board, so there’s plenty to enjoy inside as well. I had a luxurious time soaking in the Onsen, enjoying great food, and relaxing at the Accommodation. I would definitely love to visit again.

Whenever I return to Tendo, my wife and I stay here. The Facility feels a bit dated, but the staff’s hospitality—from their greetings to their thoughtful care—has never changed. The meals are delicious, and even amid rising prices, you can feel the commitment to maintaining your service. For me, “Comfort Hotel Tendo” is truly indispensable. Please keep up the great work, everyone.

There is only one elevator, which can cause some congestion during the morning and evening hours. Other than that, there are no issues at all.

There are an Onsen, a waterwheel soba restaurant, and a yakiniku izakaya within a 3-minute walk from the Hotel, so we had a very comfortable stay. The staff were also extremely courteous, and it made for a relaxing holiday. However, when we checked in and entered the Room, it was completely dark and we couldn’t find the light switch. We would have appreciated it if the blinds had been left slightly open.

We left Tokorozawa IC around 12:30 and arrived in the evening. Since it was a weekday after Golden Week, the parking lot was not crowded. Everything could be handled on a smartphone, the amenities were well stocked, and having a lounge and a bath was great for relieving travel fatigue. We used it as a stopover between trips starting the next day. The price was also reasonably low (it varies depending on the stay dates).

The exterior and facilities, including the elevator, feel dated like an older Hotel, but the Room was very clean and spacious. The toilet also had plenty of space—something you would usually only get in a higher-grade Room at a newer Hotel. I was very satisfied. Great value for money. The parking area at the back is uneven, and the second parking lot is a bit far.

I stayed here for a one-night trip to Tendo. Perhaps because of the construction for a newly built large public bath, I was able to stay at a very reasonable price in the 3,000-yen range per night. After reading the Reviews, I felt many were quite harsh, but honestly the standards seem too strict—I didn’t find those points particularly bothersome. At the front desk, everything was explained very politely, including what to do with the key when going out, which left a good impression. I heard it used to be Tendo Rich Hotel and has since become Livemax; while it is an older Hotel, renovations have been done. I chose a No Meals Included Plan, but there are restaurants along the road nearby, so having dinner and breakfast there works well. There isn’t a convenience store within walking distance, so you’ll need to drive. Regarding the bathtub: there is nearly a 20 cm step up from the Room floor into the bathroom area, so please be careful. With unit baths this is unavoidable due to plumbing underneath. As for shower temperature, mixing hot and cold about half-and-half felt comfortable. Using only one side sometimes resulted in only cold water coming out, making temperature control difficult. This may be fine in warm weather but could be tough in colder seasons. Given how many requests there seem to be about bathrooms, that’s probably why they decided to build a large public bath. For the air conditioner in the Room, around 20°C felt comfortable. The highest outdoor temperature during my stay was 28°C. The key is not linked to power or air conditioning controls, so even when I went out the Room did not heat up. The TV supported online streaming services; being able to watch movies was nice. Wi‑Fi is 5 GHz only and may not work on some laptops. Bringing a LAN cable or using smartphone tethering is essential. Having a microwave in the Room is convenient. The refrigerator is fairly spacious and can store drinks easily. There are two pillows—one firm and one soft—and I slept very well. Because it’s by the road you can hear traffic noise somewhat, but noise from neighboring Rooms didn’t bother me. Overall I was satisfied. It’s probably best not to worry too much about harsh comments about this Business Hotel. I had a relaxing time here. If I have another chance after the new large public bath opens, I’d like to stay again and try it out.

The Room and meals were both satisfactory. I would like to use it again if I have the chance.

I stayed on June 18th for a business trip. The front desk service was excellent. The Room was clean. Breakfast was very delicious. It was my first time trying Yamagata's Imoni, and the flavor was wonderfully rich. I would love to stay here again if I come back for work.

The Onsen was excellent. Reasonably priced and the meals were decent, it's a Hotel I would like to visit again.
