Each villa has its own indoor bath and open-air Onsen, so even elderly guests were able to relax and enjoy it at their own pace. The Room was very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. The garden and reflecting pool were also beautifully maintained and a pleasure to look at. The meals were excellent in both ingredients and preparation, and everything was delicious. The dashi was rich in flavor, and we were truly impressed by the chef’s careful work. The staff welcomed us with wonderful smiles and kindly assisted our elderly guest with luggage, meal service, and more. We felt refreshed both physically and mentally. Thank you very much. Top-rated in every aspect that defines a Ryokan—Onsen, dining, comfort, and views. Truly one of the very best Ryokan in Kyushu. Next time, I’d like to stay for two nights.

I first learned about this Accommodation in a travel magazine and had wanted to visit for years. From the moment I made my Reservation, the staff reached out several times with thoughtful messages, which felt truly warm and welcoming. I’m grateful for their kind advice on transportation as well as nearby recommended spots and restaurants. Set on a vast property, the Accommodation offers wonderful views, and I was thrilled to encounter deer while strolling around. The Onsen had excellent water quality, the Facility was well maintained, and I was able to unwind and soothe my fatigue while enjoying the scenery. A local regular I spoke with in the bath said they stay here every month—I couldn’t help but envy them. It was an outstanding Accommodation where both mind and body could fully relax. I would love to visit again. Every staff member was gentle and attentive, and their hospitality made it possible for me to truly feel at ease throughout my stay—each day felt happy. The moment I entered the Room, I was soothed by the aroma of tea incense—Kirishima tea truly lives up to its reputation. The hot springs, a local specialty, are in an open-air bath just outside the in-room bath. The sulfur spring left my skin silky smooth—I was very satisfied. They kindly adjusted the meals to accommodate ingredients I don’t like, and everything was delicious. I was also impressed by the staff’s thoughtful hospitality. It was a highly satisfying one-night, two-day trip. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to visit again.

We stayed in a private two-story house with a Barcelona sauna. We were satisfied with everything—the Room, bath, and Facility. Above all, the Onsen water was silky-smooth, the temperature was just right, and it was amazing. Everything provided—from the hair dryer and facial lotion to the shampoo—was excellent. It was the best Accommodation we have ever stayed at. We would love to stay again someday.

Perched on a hilltop in a very quiet area of Kirishima, the Room offers distant views of Sakurajima. Surrounded by mountains and tea fields, you can enjoy a peaceful stay away from the crowds. The Room is equipped with a spacious open-air bath that can comfortably fit around five people, a sauna for about three, and a cold plunge pool. Being able to use these Facility amenities as much as you like at any time you prefer truly feels like a luxury. Meals are served in a private dining room, with staff providing prompt service. We thoroughly enjoyed dishes featuring abundant local ingredients from both the mountains and the sea—refined without being overly elaborate, and well suited to Japanese tastes. There is also an extensive selection of Kagoshima shochu (far more than we could even recognize), along with sake, wine, and non-alcoholic options to enjoy freely. The staff were also extremely kind and attentive. If I had to mention one drawback, it was that the bathroom sink is located in the bedroom area of the Room, which felt slightly inconvenient. For those who want to fully enjoy the sauna, Onsen, meals, and location, I highly recommend a Multiple Night Stay. We would love to visit again.

There are three types of Onsen: a private open-air bath, a family bath, and a large public bath—all of which were very satisfying. The meals were also delicious. We were able to spend a quiet, relaxing, and happy time.

We stayed in the detached Akiseian. It had a large open-air bath attached to the Room, and since the weather was nice, we enjoyed it many times. The hot spring water was slightly silky and felt wonderful. The food was delicious, and there was a wide variety of sake to enjoy. It seems other detached Rooms also have large private baths, so we would like to stay again in a different season.

Everything was great except that the Room was so hot I could barely sleep. There was a fan in the Room, so I should have turned it on, but I couldn’t be bothered to get up, plug it in, and switch it on, so I just endured it until morning. After taking a bath in the evening, I enjoyed 4 of the 12 kinds of complimentary shochu in the lounge. Then live music started as well, and it was such a lovely time relaxing on a comfortable sofa. For the shochu, ice, cold water, and hot water are provided, so you can drink it however you like. As is often the case with buffets, it was quite crowded at mealtime, but there were also Kagoshima local dishes, which made it fun.

The Accommodation’s heartfelt hospitality was evident from check-in onward, extending through dinner, the Onsen, and every aspect of your stay in the Room.

At the end of the year, I stayed with my elderly parents. Since my mother needed a walker, I was a bit worried due to the lack of barrier-free information in the facility, but prioritized having a private bath and an onsen in the room due to the influenza outbreak. As a result, although the property was not barrier-free, the staff provided such considerate care that it was a very pleasant stay. The parking lot is several tens of meters away, but they offered valet parking for my mother and assisted us in areas with steps. The quality of the onsen was excellent, and our family felt warm and cozy. Although the building is old, it has been renovated and was thoroughly cleaned.

I don’t usually write Reviews, but this Accommodation was so wonderful that I really wanted to leave one. Although it faces the street, the moment you open the door and step inside, it feels like a different world. The first thing that catches your eye is the beautiful garden. The carefully chosen furniture was also truly lovely, and I heard that each Room has a different interior style. The Room was extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed a relaxing stay with the Onsen and sauna. The amenities were more than sufficient—everything felt high quality, and we could sense thoughtful attention to detail throughout. Drinks were available free of charge, including beer, soft drinks, tea, coffee—and even shochu and whisky. As people who enjoy alcohol, we were thrilled with the selection. The scent in the Room was also very pleasant; there was a lovely aroma diffuser provided along with original oils from the Accommodation. We liked the fragrance so much that we bought the oil at the Accommodation—and after returning home, we even purchased the same diffuser (laughs). Dinner (Italian) and breakfast (Japanese), served about a 5-minute walk away, were both excellent, and we could really feel their commitment to using ingredients from Kagoshima. Not only was the food outstanding—we were also deeply impressed by everyone’s hospitality. On the way to the restaurant there’s a beautiful river and nature scenery; being able to see Kirishima-Jingu Station in its different morning and evening atmospheres became a great memory as well. The in-room Onsen can be adjusted to your preferred temperature by adding water to fresh spring water from source—something I especially appreciated since I’m not good with very hot baths. Even so, you can still clearly enjoy that distinctive spring aroma, and my skin felt wonderfully smooth afterward. Everyone at Kasumi-san interacted with us at just the right distance—attentive without being intrusive—so we felt comfortable throughout our stay. Thank you as well for taking time to chat with us even after check-out. It truly was a happy stay. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

The original Onsen temperature was a bit high, so adjusting it each time was slightly inconvenient, but having both indoor and outdoor baths at this price is amazing. Truly luxurious! I also appreciated the massage chair. I had requested amenities and towels in advance, and they prepared plenty for me, including body lotion, which was very helpful.

I stayed here alone on a day when I split up from my friends during our trip. The chef and all the staff were very friendly, and we had great conversations. The food was delicious, and I ended up drinking more than usual... The Onsen with an open-air bath felt completely private both at night and in the morning, as my time never overlapped with other guests. It was raining, so I couldn’t watch the dog run or spend time with the dogs, which was a shame—but instead, I bought a dog neck pillow to take home.

This Accommodation left a strong impression with its attentive hospitality and warm smiles, and the meals were truly delicious. The tasty, well-balanced dishes were a delight at both dinner and breakfast. If I have the chance to visit Kirishima Onsen again, I would love to stay here again. This Accommodation was satisfying in every way—Onsen, meals, and hospitality. It was great that the sulfur Onsen I came for was available anytime whenever I wanted to use it. The Kurobuta pork shabu-shabu at dinner was incredibly delicious, with both the broth and the meat tasting wonderful. The manager and the dinner staff provided excellent service as well, so I had a very pleasant stay!

We found this Accommodation because it allows dogs to stay, so the three of us—my mother, my dog, and I—stayed here. The toasted marshmallows were amazing. Meals were served in our Room, and everything was delicious; both my mother and I were very satisfied and happy. Unfortunately, it rained due to the start of the rainy season, but when we went for a walk after the rain stopped, we enjoyed a peaceful view of people canoeing, and our dog was thrilled as well. This is an Accommodation we would love to use again next time. Thank you very much.

This time, we used the Kagoshima Travel Discount and made a Reservation for a Room with a private bath. Since we already knew from our previous stay that the food would be excellent, we looked forward to the day with excitement. The bubbles in the in-room bath were far more impressive than expected—what a surprise. We were told it’s possible precisely because the tub is compact. The large public bath alone is satisfying, but if you want an even more memorable experience, I highly recommend reserving a Room with a private bath. The food was outstanding again this time, and we were truly satisfied. This is an Accommodation we’d like to save up for and visit again. I stayed on Friday, July 11. That day, due to the eruption of Shinmoedake and news reports saying that Kirishima City was experiencing a water outage, many Reservations at Ryokans and Hotels in Kirishima City were reportedly canceled. However, in reality there was no impact at all, so I felt the reporting was overly alarmist—this is exactly reputational damage caused by rumors. Kirishima Hanamurasaki offers a very comfortable Onsen, and the food is absolutely delicious. In addition, the hospitality is outstanding. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.
