From the welcoming staff to the front desk team, Room guidance, and dining staff, everyone was courteous and made us feel truly comfortable. The Room was clean, and both the indoor bath and open-air bath were very relaxing. Each dish was beautifully prepared—from seasoning to presentation—and everything was delicious. Thank you for giving us such a soothing time on this trip with friends. Next time, we would love to visit again with our family.

We stayed in the “Japanese-Western Style Room with Open-Air Hot Spring Bath.” It’s not cheap, but it was absolutely worth it—an incredibly satisfying stay! ■ Room & private open-air bath The room was beautifully luxurious, and the view from it was outstanding. It had both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and I loved that you can adjust the water temperature yourself in the outdoor one. I set it a bit lukewarm and enjoyed a long soak while taking in the scenery. There were also various complimentary drinks in the room, and spending time on the balcony with a drink while admiring the view felt like pure luxury. ■ Spectacular public bath (a must!) The in-room baths are amazing, but please make sure to visit the large public bath as well! I’ve been to many hot springs, and the view from this one is among the best. There are two baths with separate hours for men and women, so I highly recommend trying both. The daytime views are incredible—but nighttime is something else. Everything around you is pitch-black, to the point where you can barely see anything at first. As your eyes adjust, mountain outlines begin to emerge with an almost overwhelming presence—like giants looming closer. Just when you think “This is scary,” you look up… and there’s a sky full of stars! It had been so long since I’d seen stars that beautiful that I honestly wished they would turn off all the lights. ■ Dining & service Every dish was refined and delicious. That said, younger guests might find the portions a little light (though perhaps that’s fine if you’re mainly drinking—my spouse and I don’t drink). Also, I would have loved to have had a big pickled plum at breakfast. The staff service was excellent throughout—we were impressed from start to finish. ■ Access / other notes - The roads on the way there and the parking area are spacious, so even larger vehicles should be fine (we drove a BMW 2-door coupe about 5 m long). However, if it snows in winter, it may be tough since snow likely doesn’t melt quickly there. - It’s surrounded by nature, so insects do appear. My wife said that “Check-in at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM isn’t enough time to fully enjoy this place!” She looked genuinely sad to leave. For me, Hita used to be just somewhere we passed through—but thanks to this inn, it has become a destination in itself. We will definitely return!

The main building's bath was spacious, and the annex's open-air baths were also large and numerous, which was amazing. I felt very relaxed. The meals were a luxurious buffet featuring plenty of local specialties, which left me completely satisfied. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

Perhaps because it is a lesser-known Onsen, I felt the price was reasonable. The meals were carefully prepared and delicious. The baths in the Ryokan are simple, but the riverside open-air bath at an affiliated Facility let me truly enjoy nature. Time passes peacefully here, and it is an Accommodation I would recommend.

Although the exterior looks old, the Room is well cleaned and the service is attentive. Above all, the bath is outstanding. Breakfast was a buffet, but I gave it 4 stars because it was disappointing that the only dessert was sweet red bean soup.

The staff's service was excellent. I appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as a single fresh flower in the room, and the breakfast was delicious! I didn't use the large public bath, so I rated it three stars. It was an accommodation I'd love to visit again.

I stayed during Golden Week. I expected it to be crowded, but I was glad I could spend a quiet time. The meals were so filling that I felt they could have been a bit smaller, as I’m in my 60s. The sunset was beautiful while looking out over the Mikuma River, and it felt very pleasant. All the staff were kind and welcoming. I would like to stay again.

I was looking for a Ryokan about an hour’s drive from Hakata where I could enjoy a sauna and great food, and that’s how I found this place. It seems this long-established Ryokan has been renovated into a Ryokan with saunas in every room. The Japanese-modern style was wonderful. There are few shared spaces, so it’s perfect for a relaxing stay-in retreat. The staff were very kind. It has the unique charm of a Ryokan—different from the service style of foreign-owned Hotels. The meals reflected the local flavors of Kyushu and Oita while also trying new ideas, and everything was delicious. Dinner was excellent, of course, but having hitsumabushi for breakfast was a first for me and felt refreshingly new. One of the condiments was yuzu kosho with grated daikon—another great new way to enjoy it. And of course, it was domestic eel! The sauna let us adjust the temperature, connect via Bluetooth, and the relaxation space was very comfortable. Since this is a Ryokan suited to an immersive stay-in retreat, I would have appreciated slightly later check-in and check-out times. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this Ryokan. Thank you!

They kindly accommodated a same-day change in the number of guests, and we all had a great time. The Room and kitchen were very clean, and the free-flowing natural hot spring bath was truly amazing. I would love to stay again.

This was my first stay in 15 years. For breakfast, you can enjoy freshly cooked rice made in a traditional kamado stove. Along with beautifully prepared small dishes and miso soup, it truly made me happy from the morning—the rice was absolutely delicious!! What’s more, the proprietress remembered that I had stayed before, which really moved me. It’s conveniently located near Hita Station, with many shops nearby. Everything is kept very clean, and there are two private Onsen baths that you can use anytime when available, 24 hours a day. It’s a wonderful Accommodation with a great atmosphere. In any case, from the meals to the proprietress and all the staff—everyone is so lovely that it’s an Accommodation you’ll want to stay at again and again. I’ll visit again someday!! I stayed here because it was advertised as free-flowing hot spring water. On the day of arrival, the temperature was just right and very comfortable, but the next morning it was extremely cold. I waited until just before check-out for it to warm up, but it didn’t get hot and I had to bathe while it was still lukewarm. I wanted to enjoy it at a comfortable temperature. The Room was very stylish. Even though I arrived early, you allowed me to use the Room, which was a great help. Thank you very much.

I visited Hita on a touring trip, bought a bento, and stayed without meals. The room was so spacious it felt like too much for one person, and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot springs—an open-air bath and a private family bath the next morning. There were two restaurants nearby, so I plan to try them next time I stay.

Conveniently located near the station, with a convenience store within walking distance. There is also a large public bath available from evening until late at night. The Room is clean and comfortable.

We stayed at this Hotel looking forward to seeing fireflies and the starry sky. We saw far more fireflies than we imagined, and it felt like a magical world. The sky became cloudy from the evening, so we couldn’t see the stars at all. The Hotel was wonderful and helped us forget our everyday busyness. We would like to stay again.

This was my first stay. The front desk staff were very courteous. There were complimentary drinks on the first floor, and the ice-cold draft beer was excellent. The Room was spacious and had a massage chair, so I could relax, but I couldn’t adjust the air conditioning—when I tried to operate it, it turned off. I filled the in-room Onsen right away and enjoyed a very pleasant bath, but my parent, who has difficulty walking, said the step was high and felt scary. Since everything is flat around it, I thought a handrail would make it safer. I understand this may be difficult as it is not barrier-free. I was looking forward to dinner. Everything was delicious, including salt-grilled ayu and chicken hot pot, and even the white rice was excellent. The children’s lunch plate was also generous in portion size, and my child happily bit into a big fried shrimp. However, there was one thing that concerned me. My child’s dessert (a mousse-like item topped with fruit) that came with the lunch plate was taken away partway through for some reason. Since I happened to be on the phone at that moment, I wondered why. After that, as if nothing had happened, the removed dessert was served to an adult instead, and jelly was placed for my child. I assumed it had been a mistake, but I believe an explanation should have been given. Taking something once served to one person and then serving it to someone else seems inappropriate etiquette-wise. At the very least, some explanation when bringing out the jelly for my child would have been appreciated. Overall it is a wonderful Accommodation; only the dinner service response bothered me. Thank you very much.

I stayed at Tsuetate Onsen for the first time. Despite being in a region where space along the river is limited, the parking lot was conveniently located nearby. The staff's hospitality was excellent, making my stay very comfortable, and the meals were absolutely delicious. The accommodation's bath was spacious and impressive, but the highlight was "Kissho no Yu," an outdoor onsen with five open-air baths nestled in the forest—truly a relaxing experience. I would love to stay at this accommodation again!

Stayed for the Yamame trout and wild boar dishes. The Yamame was prepared in various ways, but the sashimi was exceptionally delicious! According to the hostess, for sashimi, they prepare live Yamame within an hour before serving. It had a refreshing and firm texture with a rich flavor—truly delightful! The facility shows its age to some extent. However, it seems like the bath has been recently renovated and is very clean. There’s an adorable white cat on-site, so you might get lucky and have a chance to interact with it!

The breakfast rice balls were incredibly delicious, and the coffee was great too! The price with breakfast included offers excellent value for money. A microwave is available on the second floor, and there are vending machines on each floor, which is convenient. While the combined bath & toilet setup is understandable, the water pressure of the bidet was low. The sunrise view from the guest room was beautiful.
