Every summer vacation, we stay at this seaside Hotel. The Rooms in the East Wing and the amenities are truly wonderful, and we always look forward to them. One small disappointment was that last year there was a bottle of water by the sink in the bathroom, but this time it wasn’t provided. Also, the staff’s service was excellent. In the morning, when my child and I were swimming in the sea, I’m not sure if it was a staff member or a volunteer, but someone was carefully picking up litter on the beach. It was wonderful. Thanks to that, there wasn’t any trash at all on the beach in front of the Hotel, and we could swim comfortably. We’ll be back again next year. We hope it will be even more upgraded—haha.

I visited again after three years to enjoy the full tiger puffer course. It is delicious every time, and I never get tired of it. The hassun, soup dish, and takikomi rice were also excellent, and I ended up drinking quite a lot again. Of course, the ara course and other courses are also very tasty, but I still think Yoyokaku’s tiger puffer course is the best. The staff and everyone at the Accommodation were very pleasant, and the building and garden felt spacious and relaxing, so I was able to unwind once again. Thank you for upgrading us to a wonderful Room.

Family stay After check-in, we could relax in the lounge. All-inclusive—plenty of snacks, too! Dinner had wonderful Kyushu flavors. Saga beef, sashimi, desserts, and even turban shells at breakfast. We ate so much, and the pancakes were amazing. After the bath, there was a soothing relaxation area with amazake available—it was truly calming. It made us want to come back again.

This was not just a clean Accommodation, but a place that felt like a “second home,” filled with warmth and thoughtfulness. In every corner of the Room, we could feel the host’s care and affection, and throughout our stay we felt comfortable and genuinely welcomed. The meals were also truly outstanding. Each dish was prepared with great care and sincerity—delicious, and an unforgettable taste. We had a truly wonderful time and are sincerely grateful. We would love to visit again.

This was my first stay here (visit date: August 17), and it far exceeded all expectations—it was truly wonderful. I arrived around 4:00 PM, and the staff welcomed me warmly with genuine smiles. Even before check-in, I could already feel the exceptional hospitality. When showing me to my Room, they thoughtfully told me the sunset time for the day. I took a walk along the beach right in front of the Accommodation before sunset, and the refreshing sea breeze was the perfect way to unwind. After my walk, I enjoyed a bath in my Room with a beach view. The sunset over the Genkai Sea from there was simply breathtaking—an unforgettable view! I also bathed at night and again in the morning; spending that time surrounded by clear ocean scenery and soothing waves was pure relaxation at its best. Dinner—the sushi kaiseki “MURASAKI”—was outstanding from start to finish, with incredible attention to detail throughout. Highlights included lightly seared locally caught isaki (chicken grunt), steamed kué (longtooth grouper) custard-style, and overnight-dried ayu sweetfish whose charcoal aroma stood out beautifully—each dish made the most of seasonal ingredients. The main course of Saga beef grilled on magnolia leaves with miso, a comparison tasting of three types of tuna, and tilefish served with citrus vinegar were all exquisite. Even dessert—Karatsu milk and cheese pudding—was deeply satisfying. Breakfast surprised me even more. Beautifully arranged in two-tiered jubako boxes, every dish was delicious; it went beyond “breakfast” in both luxury and quality. Thanks to the staff’s attentive yet comfortable service throughout, I started my day feeling genuinely happy. With its location, spectacular baths with stunning views, exceptional cuisine, and warm hospitality—all perfectly delivered—this is an outstanding Accommodation. I will definitely return.

This was my third visit to Itoshima, the first in two years. Last time, after heavy rain the day before, it suddenly turned into a midsummer day, and the breathtaking sunset—changing moment by moment against the vast ocean—was truly moving. I enjoyed delicious food and the relaxed pace that only an all-inclusive stay can offer. This time had a different atmosphere and some changes. Arriving in a downpour with luggage, I climbed the stone steps to check in. What surprised me right away was “10:00 checkout”! I never expected it to be an hour earlier—maybe a pitfall of being a repeat guest? I was told it was changed because lunch service starts at 11:00 with reservations… but 10:00 still feels far too early. Since we spend about four hours round trip for an overnight stay, we want to relax as much as possible. If possible, I hope you will consider setting check-in to 16:00 and returning checkout to 11:00—I would be glad if this request from repeat guests reaches you. This time we dined while watching the post-rain evening scenery, and the food was just as delicious as ever—I was very satisfied. The soup course in particular had wonderful Japanese dashi flavor and was deeply comforting, and the tempura made from fresh squid (prepared after sashimi) was especially appreciated; as someone who loves cooking at home, having a professional fry dishes is a real treat. It was also disappointing not to see any of the staff members from previous visits. The photo shows “Itoshima Bay—an evening view after the rain.”

Stayed at Karatsu Kimura Chaya to try squid The squid was very fresh and delicious. The simmered fish head, abalone, and sea bream chazuke for breakfast were all excellent. The view from the window was wonderful, and seeing Karatsu Castle while having breakfast—along with the cherry blossoms in full bloom—made it an unforgettable trip to Karatsu.

The dashi, seasonings, ingredients, tableware, and hospitality came together in perfect harmony to create dishes that truly warmed the body and soul. We were able to fully enjoy the Karatsu-yaki ceramics. The seasonal flowers displayed throughout the Accommodation were graceful, and the garden pines stood proudly—immaculately maintained. This is a culinary Accommodation where you’ll want to savor every last drop.

When we ordered extra squid, the Yobuko squid was truly delicious.

The sea was beautiful, and the Room was clean, so we had a comfortable stay. The teppanyaki dinner was excellent in both quality and portion size, and my elderly mother finished everything. My nephew loved watching the chef cook right in front of us and said he wants to go back to see the chef again (laugh). We were able to spend a wonderful time.
