We had a comfortable stay in a spacious, clean Room. The BBQ dinner was very satisfying, with paella and acqua pazza in addition to BBQ. Even after checkout, we were able to play plenty at the pool and indoor play area at Rurikei Onsen, and our 4-year-old and 1-year-old grandchildren were delighted. On the drive home, they kept saying, “Take us back to Rurikei,” haha. Haha

I’ve stayed here several times, but this was my first time at Kobushi. ○ There is a gap at the bottom of the Room door, so outside noise carries in easily. ○ Because there is no door to the dining area, food smells spread throughout the entire floor. Also, dinner time is set at 90 minutes, and the next dishes come slowly. When dining with a child (one-plate meal), they finished early and it was difficult. These two points were drawbacks. Everything else was perfect. You can enjoy yourself from morning until late afternoon the next day! You can play a lot and relax, and everyone from children to adults will be satisfied. No matter how many times we come, my child says they want to stay again. Regarding meals, I’d appreciate it if the serving pace could be faster for guests with children—once they finish eating, they have nothing to do.

The staff were very courteous. It was raining, but we managed to have the BBQ under the tarp. However, the tarp leaked in several places and water dripped down, so we had to choose our seats carefully. I guess that’s somewhat unavoidable with a tarp tent. The BBQ meat was very well seasoned and delicious. The vegetables were fresh and tasty as well. The French toast for breakfast was also great. We stayed in a Comfort Tent and it was comfortable. It was cool enough that we didn’t really need air conditioning, but because of the rain it was very humid, so we used the AC to dehumidify. Even with that heavy rain, we still had a good time—this really felt like glamping at its best. There were deer near our tent late at night—we truly enjoyed being close to nature.

Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day. We felt even more relaxed than at a relative’s home in the countryside and enjoyed spring in the satoyama. We thoroughly enjoyed a hearty breakfast, and the Goemon-style bath as well. We’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

We visited as a group of four—my grandparents, my mother, and me—to celebrate my grandmother’s 80th birthday. My grandparents love traveling and have visited many places around the world, including Japan, but they said this experience was truly exceptional. In particular, the concierge who assisted us was wonderful—thank you very much for your thoughtful care and attention. Dinner at the Italian restaurant SEME was also a fantastic experience; both the owner’s warm personality and the food were outstanding. Next time, we would love to visit again with my father as well, who couldn’t join us this time. It was a truly wonderful one-night, two-day stay. Thank you very much.

The Room was simple and thoughtfully designed for ease of use. The drink service in the lounge was satisfying. The adjacent roadside station "Ajimu no Sato" was convenient for shopping and dining.

I stayed at Oito Bettei. Preserving the atmosphere of a historic merchant house, the accommodation has been beautifully renovated with tasteful interiors and well-equipped facilities. Once inside, it was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, offering a relaxing stay that felt like living there. The kitchen was fully equipped with stylish tableware and utensils, including two types of coffee beans, allowing us to enjoy freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Although we didn’t cook dinner as there was a delicious Chinese restaurant nearby, we prepared snacks using local black soybeans (just released that day), persimmons, sweet green peppers, muscat grapes purchased during our stroll through the castle town. Paired with wine we brought along, it made for a leisurely evening in a quiet environment without TV—perfect for unwinding from daily life. The provided tableware was also elegant; simply tossing fruits and cheese we brought with olive oil and salt available at the accommodation created an effortlessly chic dish. The facilities were excellent—the bathtub allowed for stretching out comfortably; toilets and sinks were available on both floors; hairdryers were conveniently placed throughout—making preparations stress-free. If I may suggest one improvement: providing amenities such as cleansing products, face wash, or lotion would be appreciated. There are no convenience stores within walking distance and shops close early in the area. It’s advisable to prepare your shopping beforehand. However, this slight inconvenience added to escaping daily busyness and enjoying simple yet extraordinary moments. The staff were incredibly kind and offered various suggestions for how to spend our second day or places to visit nearby—making it an enriching experience overall. Tamba Sasayama is filled with delicious food alongside its serene townscape and warm-hearted people—a truly wonderful place. This is an accommodation I’d love to stay at repeatedly—a perfect base for exploring Tamba Sasayama! Thank you for such a lovely time—I’ll definitely return!

Thank you for allowing us to spend a relaxing time. The wonderful Room had a wood stove, and the dinner was a boar hot pot that was more than we could eat. The next day, it turned into a beautiful snowy landscape, becoming an early white Christmas. Even our shy dog seemed to warm up to the owner. They are a gentle and kind person.

The Room (building) was spacious and very clean. I was impressed that the dressing room in the separate bathhouse also had air conditioning installed. It is a perfect place to enjoy a quiet garden, drink alcohol, and stargaze at night.

Everything was so wonderful that I hardly know where to begin. The meat, sausages, eggs, rice, bread, coffee, juice—everything was unbelievably delicious. The amenities such as shampoo and lotion were excellent as well; the Japanese-style room smelled lovely, and the garden—with its many trees and plants being grown—also seemed truly impressive. I’m not very good with words, so I can’t fully describe how amazing this place is—sorry. All I can say is that you definitely won’t regret staying here. I highly recommend it.

My wife’s favorite. A wonderful Accommodation that makes you want to come back again and again. This was our third stay, including Reservations made by my wife. This time it was a gift from me. It’s truly exceptional every time, so I wanted to leave a Review. Our usual way of spending time here is enjoying authentic organic coffee brewed with the espresso machine in the Room. Sipping coffee while looking down over the terraced rice fields through the large window of the tatami room, we both forgot about our phones and were able to relax for the first time in a while. Breakfast was also outstanding: rice harvested from the terraced fields right in front of us, cooked in a clay pot. The miso soup made with additive-free black soybean miso and dried-sardine broth felt gentle on the body, and this simple yet carefully prepared meal is something we truly appreciate. Although the sky was unfortunately cloudy this time, the earthy scent after the rain and the lush, misty view of the terraced fields were beautiful—we could have watched it forever. At night, a few fireflies drifted softly through the air, and my wife and I were moved by how magical it felt. Another great memory was chatting casually with the landowner who came by to check on the rice paddies; we learned about local life and culture. It warmed my heart to realize that this beautiful nature is preserved thanks to such careful stewardship by people in the community. A staff member told us that “the Milky Way in July and even midwinter starry skies are beautiful,” so next time we’d love to visit in another season with stargazing in mind.
