This is a small luxury Hotel with 55 rooms. As a result, the staff paid close attention to every detail. They greeted me by name whenever we passed, and kindly listened to casual conversation—this is a Hotel that makes you want to come back again and again.

I stayed here as a birthday gift for my sister. We were amazed the moment we entered the Room—not only did you prepare a Room with a view of the five-story pagoda, but you also gifted us sparkling wine to celebrate. My sister was absolutely thrilled. In the lounge, we enjoyed a wide variety of drinks and alcohol, along with visually stunning sweets and carefully crafted dishes. At night, we dined at the rooftop bar while taking in Kyoto’s night views. For breakfast, I chose a conger eel hot pot—something rare for a Hotel breakfast—and truly savored Kyoto’s summer flavors. We were also able to visit Kiyomizu-dera early in the morning when it was quiet and uncrowded, which made us very happy. It seems it became a wonderful memory for my sister as well. This was our first stay with the VMG Hotel group, and we made a Reservation because we were drawn to the location and breakfast at Heian Shrine. With only three Rooms, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Even though we may have caused some inconvenience with two children, everyone at the Hotel was truly kind and helpful, making our stay very comfortable. They also handled an issue pleasantly and professionally, for which we are very grateful. As for the Room, it was a bit inconvenient that there was no luggage rack like many Hotels have. Also, since the bathroom, toilet, and sink were all in one unit, it felt slightly inconvenient for five people across three generations (as two-bedroom or connecting Rooms often have two bathrooms/toilets). That said, the Room was spacious and spotless; we could hear the bell from Kodai-ji Temple and even catch glimpses of people passing along Nene-no-Michi—full of charm and atmosphere. Thanks to the great location, we could walk to many sights. Gion at night and Ishibe-Koji Alley were also wonderful. Breakfast at Heian Shrine was a special experience as well—this stay truly made us glad we chose this Hotel. Highly recommended.

The Hotel staff, cleanliness, and meals were all outstanding. About 70% of the guests seemed to be international visitors, but the team provided warm, attentive hospitality. Breakfast was delicious as well. Both Japanese and international guests can feel at ease—more than that, I think you’ll have an amazing stay. Highly recommended.

I stayed here with my husband while I was pregnant. One morning, we woke up unusually early and took a walk together to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The location is excellent, and I think it’s ideal for sightseeing. The lounge was also very comfortable. I recommend staying in a Room with a large bath!

This Accommodation was even more comfortable than we expected for a trip with three adult female friends. What made us happiest was that each of the three of us could have our own Room. At night, we could relax in our own space, sleep well, and feel refreshed for sightseeing the next day. There were also two toilets, which made getting ready in the morning smooth. Both the Rooms and the water areas were kept very clean, and the amenities were well stocked. Since most essentials were provided, we were glad we could pack lighter as well. The bath was spacious and spotless. Soaking and unwinding after walking around Kyoto felt wonderful. There were plenty of plates, glasses, and cutlery too, so we could buy what we liked at a nearby supermarket and enjoy it leisurely in our Room—another great plus. The location was convenient for walking to sightseeing spots, and it was nice to be able to return to the Accommodation quickly when we got tired. If you want to fully enjoy sightseeing while also relaxing at your own pace at the Accommodation, this is a perfect place for an adult women’s trip to Kyoto. We would definitely like to stay here again when we visit Kyoto next time.

This was my second stay when attending a performance at Minamiza. The location is excellent, and it was also convenient for visiting Uzumasa Koryu-ji Temple. As with my previous stay, the attentive service was much appreciated. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, with a different menu each day.

I stayed for one night last autumn and it was amazing, so this time I stayed for two nights. For both breakfast and dinner on the first and second days, they prepared different menus each day. Everything was absolutely delicious! The Ai Room was spacious, and the fresh flowers were adorable and beautiful. After dinner, floating yuzu in the cypress bath and soaking slowly was a blissful moment that made me forget everyday life. The yuzu served with the meals and in the bath were large and impressive. It’s in a prime location in Kyoto, right next to Yasaka Shrine, with an excellent atmosphere. Transportation is convenient, making it an easy base for sightseeing. It makes you want to stay again and again! I’ll be back!

We had a wonderful, elegant time. The space itself reminded us of Japan all over again.

I realized I had left something in the Room and called immediately. The staff responded promptly, and the item arrived the next day with careful packaging and a list of contents. It was very helpful. The staff who answered the phone were also kind, which I greatly appreciated.

1. The first impression: All the staff provide excellent service, both international and Japanese staff equally. 2. The second: The cuisine—crafted with incredible dedication by the head chef. 3. The third: The Room—so impressive that words can't do it justice. I was deeply moved by these experiences. Looking forward to visiting again next month! It would be great if you could arrange a partnered parking lot as well.

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay on my own and was able to relax. The texture and feel of the Room were outstanding—truly wonderful. It was a Room that made me want to take lots of photos. Room service and turndown service were handled promptly, so there was no stress at all. Also, the restaurant I visited at night, Omo no Ma by SingleThread, was delicious and a lot of fun. If you stay at this Hotel, I highly recommend it for dinner. The only disappointment was the view from the Room. I chose a Room with a view of Kennin-ji Temple, but for Japanese guests it may not be that impressive. That said, given the location it can’t really be helped, and this is still a Hotel that offers satisfaction far beyond that.

We stayed here on a family trip to Kyoto. Despite its prime location along Nene-no-Michi, which connects Kodaiji Temple and Yasaka Shrine, once you step inside you’ll find a quiet, refined space away from the city bustle—it truly impressed us. The building is said to be 120 years old, yet the interior and Facility are beautifully maintained and very clean, making it extremely comfortable. Thanks to the spacious layout (multiple bedrooms and two bathrooms), we were able to relax at our own pace while still enjoying quality time together as a family. In particular, the view from the second-floor living room with its mini bar was wonderful. Our favorite memory is spending a slow evening there with tea or drinks in hand, chatting as a family. We’re also grateful for the staff’s thoughtful and warm hospitality. It was a special stay that both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed. This is an Accommodation we would absolutely love to return to on our next visit to Kyoto.

We stayed for three nights. Located near Yasaka Shrine, with sightseeing spots such as Chion-in, Kodaiji, and Kiyomizu-dera within walking distance—perfect for a morning stroll. There are also plenty of buses, so we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. The Room was lovely, and I was truly impressed—thanks to the Repronizer hair dryer and Bamford amenities, my hair became so soft and fluffy! There isn’t a bath chair in the Room, but they kindly lent us one when we asked. Although it’s listed as no meals included, the lounge available from 7:00 to 24:00 is exceptionally well stocked. In the morning I especially loved the chocolate bread and yogurt; at night, the beef prosciutto and canelé were my favorites—I ended up having them almost every day during our stay. The drink selection is also great, with unique beers, sake, wine, gin, and whisky, plus plenty of non-alcoholic options. The sparkling water made by Kizakura using Fushimi water was incredibly delicious—I kept drinking it throughout the day after mixing drinks with it (haha). You can also borrow a tray and take lounge food and drinks back to your Room. The only downside was that the laundry facilities are about a 9-minute walk away. Since we often do Multiple Night Stays as a family, having laundry in the Hotel would be helpful—but this is an Accommodation with only a small number of Rooms, so perhaps we should just be grateful there’s one within walking distance. Overall—especially considering what’s included in the lounge—the value for money is excellent. The staff were kind and approachable as well. It was a very comfortable Accommodation where we felt at home. We’d love to stay again.

I stayed here twice shortly after it opened, and this time I returned for the first time in seven years. Back then, I felt the service didn’t quite suit us, but this time all the front desk staff were friendly. Perhaps because it was early in the morning, the large public bath was also very well cleaned, and I had a comfortable stay. The Room is not large by any means, but considering this location in Gion and the level of service for this price, I was very satisfied. If possible, I would appreciate having bath towels available in the bath area or an extra set of towels placed in the Room. Reusing a wet towel multiple times isn’t pleasant. Also, I would like a “Do Not Disturb” sign for the Room. Even if housekeeping is not expected to enter, mistakes can happen. For security reasons as well, I strongly hope you will consider this. If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. Thank you in advance.

Stayed at the accommodation after a long time. The quality of the room, the garden view from the window—everything was truly wonderful. The location is also excellent. Additionally, it felt like the service has improved significantly compared to before. I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. I was delighted to receive a stollen for Christmas as well. Convenient access to Kiyomizu-dera, Yasaka Shrine, and Yasui Konpiragu Shrine. The private house rental made our children very happy. The customer service was excellent. Thank you!

The building, interior design, amenities, hinoki wood bath, lighting, and even the washer-dryer were all understated yet high in design and quality, allowing us to have a truly wonderful time. Located in Miyagawa-cho, it is an extremely convenient spot for walking, sightseeing, and shopping while being in a very quiet location where we could enjoy a relaxed Kyoto stay as if living there. My husband and our two 15-year-old sons all unanimously said from the moment we arrived until departure that they would love to live here. The handmade bagels, scones, and cookies at the lovely café on the first floor were absolutely delicious and brought joy to my sons. The manager was incredibly thoughtful yet laid-back; they introduced us to Kyoto's craft beers and dining spots while also engaging in delightful conversations with us. We are deeply grateful for their hospitality. We would definitely like to stay here again during our next visit to Kyoto!
