We stayed here to see the crystal-clear “Lake Biwa Blue,” and this hotel exceeded our expectations!! From the courteous service by the male front desk staff to the moment we entered our lake-view room—we were truly moved. The view spreading out before us made us gasp in delight. The room was spotless, and the bed-making was truly five-star quality. With amenities like a massage chair, we could relax comfortably just staying in the room. Dinner featured a wonderful selection of dishes that were clearly not pre-made—each one reflecting the chef’s refined sense of aesthetics. We also enjoyed the seasonal tableware at a leisurely pace. After dinner, we took a walk along Lake Biwa, soothed our tiredness in the private family bath, and went to bed early. The next morning, we watched migratory birds flying over Lake Biwa and admired a beautiful sunrise, starting the day feeling refreshed. This is a hotel we would definitely love to visit again!! (Thank you very much for your thoughtful consideration during our stay despite our circumstances.)

The staff’s hospitality, the quality of the meals, the atmosphere of the Room, and the surrounding environment all exceeded our expectations. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy a truly special getaway, and our dog was stress-free as well. Thank you.

Thank you for coming out to the car in the rain to help with our luggage. We were able to enjoy dinner at a relaxed pace in a calm atmosphere. I’m a light eater, so I’m very sorry for not finishing everything. When we visit Shiga again, we would love to stay at GUZU.

The Room was spacious and comfortable with individual air conditioning, and the front desk staff were kind and attentive. The large public bath was also very relaxing, with an open-air bath and a sauna. The amenities were well stocked, and I have no complaints at all. If I’m in the area again, I will definitely stay here again. I can confidently recommend it to everyone.

A gourmet Accommodation offering breathtaking views from the bedroom and dining room, along with a peaceful atmosphere where you can faintly hear the sound of the waves. The sweetfish, carp, and freshwater shrimp were all delicious, and not only dinner but breakfast was also exceptionally high quality. On the way back, we stopped by the Kohoku Wild Bird Center and were able to see a birdwatching paradise through a telescope.

We stayed as a couple in our 50s. Rather than a Hotel, it feels more like a charming pension-style place, which suits it well. The front desk gave the impression that they may be operating more efficiently than before, and that’s perfectly fine. The staff were all ladies older than us, so the pace was a bit relaxed—but in an endearing way. It felt warm and comfortable. The Room was spacious, with Lake Biwa stretching out beyond the window. Since this area tends to feel cold, even in April they had a heater and blankets prepared. We chose the Omi beef steak course. From the photos I wondered if it might not be enough, but it was very filling and satisfying. For breakfast, we were happy to be able to choose either Japanese or Western style. The curry was especially delicious! The bath is not an Onsen, but it was kept very clean. We went to see the Osaki cherry blossoms by the inlet. Next time, I’d love to visit again during the season when the metasequoia trees are at their best.

This time, we stayed as a group of four, including my parents. The location was very quiet, with the Room right in front of Lake Biwa—an absolutely stunning view. The amenities were well-prepared, and the pajamas were fluffy and very comfortable to wear. However, the bathtub didn’t fill up much no matter how many times we tried, and for some reason, the water was lukewarm. We set it to 47 degrees and added hot water from the faucet. Still, the view from the bath was amazing, and we could relax while soaking in it. We look forward to staying here again.

We really enjoyed having a private space just for ourselves. Thank you. We felt that with a Multiple Night Stay, we could relax even more without feeling rushed.

The hostess was incredibly kind and engaging, which made us very happy! Thank you for chatting with us so warmly and cheerfully! The room had a retro and charming atmosphere, complete with records that delighted my friend who loves vinyl. This accommodation is simple and not the type to offer luxury, but its simplicity was incredibly comforting. Staying in this traditional house was an exciting experience that we thoroughly enjoyed! As for the meals, they were filled with fresh vegetables, freshwater fish, mackerel, meat, and fermented foods—all of which were absolutely delicious! The breakfast salad and jam were also amazing. It was a meal that truly revitalized our bodies! We had such a wonderful time enjoying delicious food that we definitely want to visit again!

Very satisfied! We stayed with children, and the property was thoroughly cleaned and had a sense of cleanliness. The kitchen utensils and tableware were well-equipped, so we could cook properly by just bringing ingredients. If I had to say, the bathroom and washroom felt a bit small (all amenities were provided). There were video games, board/card games, and even a hammock, which made the kids happy to play. The surrounding area seemed like a residential neighborhood, so it might be better to avoid being too noisy late at night. It was a cold snowy day, but the air conditioning was turned on at check-in time, so the room was warm and appreciated. The owners were very kind; they called us about parking and departure in the snow and even came to help us get out of the snow in our car the next morning so we could leave safely. We are very grateful for that. This was our first time renting an entire property like this one; we had some concerns but are really glad we chose this place. The interior is cute and well-equipped; it's also close to ski resorts as well as Lake Biwa (Biwako), making it great value for money. We created wonderful memories with our family here. We would love to use it again! Thank you very much!

The thoughtful touches and Facilities were provided naturally and without feeling overdone, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you very much.

We stayed here on a trip with our family and our dog. When traveling with a dog, the number of places you can stay is limited, and you often have to compromise—but this place was very clean and exceptionally well equipped. There was also an open-air bath, and we were impressed that it was a natural hot spring. This was our first stay, but we would love to return when traveling in the Shiga area again.

We stayed in a cabin. The facilities were new, very clean, and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked not only with tableware and cooking utensils, but also with consumables such as paper towels and plastic wrap, which was very helpful. In the central plaza, we could borrow items like a frisbee and giant badminton set from the front desk and play. The kids were able to play to their heart’s content and were very happy. As an aside, our whole family loved the scent of the provided hand soap, so we found ourselves washing our hands often.

The hostess was incredibly kind and attentive, and the meals were delicious and exceptional. I had such a wonderful experience that I plan to stay here again.

Beautiful Lake Biwa was truly just steps away, and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace! The bath is shared, but it was spacious and very relaxing. The Accommodation staff were kind, and it was fun chatting about various things. Next time, I’d love to stay here for a Lake Biwa cycling trip!

We stayed with a Biwako Hakodateyama Ski Resort lift ticket and meals included. We chose a Room in the main building, and it was clean, spacious, and very nice. The bath was under repair, so we had to go to the annex building, which was the only disappointing part. The bath itself was clean and good; it was just inconvenient to move. The meals were delicious, and breakfast was also great with plenty of side dishes. Considering the lift ticket included, I think it was excellent value for money. Thank you very much.

It was very comfortable. We stayed in a loft Room on the second floor of the main house, and it was spacious enough for two people even without using the loft. The private bath we reserved for one hour was also clean and roomy. The sukiyaki dinner and the breakfast bread were delicious. Next time, I’d like to try the cottage as well.

We stayed in Cottage Building B. There isn’t a private dog run, but there’s a large dog run right in front, which was actually better for our dog. Our first time trying the pool took about 20 minutes for our dog to get used to the water, but then he paddled desperately toward the edge—our bath-hating pup managed to swim 1 meter. At night, the stars were incredibly beautiful and we could see the Milky Way! It said “unit bath,” but it’s a shower. With four people, laying out the futons was a bit of work, but it was enough for us. It was a relaxing, dog-first vacation. Thank you very much.

The building was new and comfortable. However, the location was not ideal.

The room was clean, and the futon was fluffy and very comfortable! Watching YouTube on the projector felt fresh and out of the ordinary! There was an outdoor bath with adjustable temperature, which felt unique compared to other places! It was great to be able to cook with new kitchen appliances! One concern was that while I thought the 24-hour pool would have its trash and insects removed regularly, it stopped being cleaned midway. Bugs started coming out from the suction area, so I had to remove them with a net, which was quite troublesome. During summer nights, there were so many bugs in the pool that it made it difficult to enjoy swimming at night. That part was a bit disappointing. The BBQ grill had some sticky residue on it; I wasn’t sure if oil had been applied or if it came from previous users’ cooking, so I decided not to use it. I also struggled a bit with figuring out where some of the light switches were located for turning them on and off. Overall rating: very satisfied—4 stars! The amenities were especially impressive with plenty of sparkling water, regular water, tea bags, and instant tea options available—I loved that part!! We used this place for our anniversary this time around—thank you very much!
