Thank you as always. This time, we stayed in the annex. We came mainly for the fireworks festival, and we truly appreciated the Shuttle Service as well. We also enjoyed using the lounge. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and very satisfying. Thank you to all the Facility staff for your kindness, as always.

We visited with our dog to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthday. The staff were kind, and the Ryokan was welcoming to both people and dogs. We were very satisfied with the meals! The Room and the in-room bath were spacious and very comfortable. Thank you very much.

The building is old, but it felt clean. There were paintings displayed everywhere, which was lovely. The Hotel staff were also very courteous. However, after checking out, I stopped by again in the evening because I decided there was a souvenir from the Hotel that I wanted to buy. When I told a man at the front desk—someone I had not seen before—that I was not a guest with a Reservation for that day, his attitude felt a bit cold, so I deducted one star. The female front desk staff were all polite and helpful. Thank you very much.

The moderately American-style Room decor feels thoughtfully different from a typical Business Hotel. It was a new, clean Room. I was surprised that the bath and toilet were clearly separated. (The bathtub and shower felt like something you’d have at home.) The lighting in the Room is well designed, there are plenty of outlets, and it’s highly functional—overall, the hospitality far exceeded expectations for this price. Breakfast was also very satisfying in quality, and the other guests gave an elegant impression. There were a couple of moments when I noticed the soundproofing, but it was quiet at night.

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday. The sashimi came with daikon carved into a crane, and there was also sekihan (red rice). Everything looked beautiful and tasted great, leaving both our stomachs and hearts full. All of the staff were wonderful and very considerate, which made our time here truly enjoyable. Thank you very much.

I stayed here for sightseeing. The rooms are slightly larger and more comfortable than a typical Business Hotel. There is also a large public bath, so you can stretch out and relax. Breakfast is buffet-style, with a good variety for a Business Hotel. Free parking is available, which is convenient if you are traveling by car. Since this Hotel is best suited for guests with a car due to its location, I think it would be helpful to have recommendations for restaurants in a wider area.

Stayed here while traveling to Hikone Castle. It is located in a love hotel district, and the Room has a love hotel-style layout. Because of that, both the Room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The morning service offered a variety of options and was delicious. There is also a large shopping mall nearby, so we could spend time there until check-in. If you use it as a base for exploring Shiga, you can enjoy your stay.

The bath and Room were clean and comfortable, and all the staff were very kind. Both dinner and breakfast had just the right seasoning and portions, and everything was delicious. It would be perfect if breakfast included a small dessert bite and after-meal coffee. This was a Ryokan I would definitely like to stay at again and recommend to friends. I made a Reservation after seeing this Accommodation featured by a YouTuber. The property was clean and airy, and the view from our Room was wonderful. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and we felt completely at home—overall, we were very satisfied. Most of all, we were impressed by how kind and thoughtful the staff were in their attentive greetings. We stayed as a family of three with our 11-month-old baby. Upon request, they provided a baby crib and a diaper disposal bin in the Room, and we could also enjoy the heated pool together, so we felt comfortable even with a small child. At dinner, they prepared a private dining room for us, which allowed us to relax without worrying about disturbing other guests when our daughter became fussy. It was an unhurried course meal that lasted nearly two hours, but every time the staff came in they spoke gently to her; even though she is shy around strangers, she stayed happy and smiling throughout. Thank you as well for warming up her baby food. Traveling with a child can be tiring in many ways, but thanks to the Facilities and the warmth of the staff here, we were able to take things at our own pace and truly relax. Thank you very much. The afternoon tea and light meals are excellent, so I recommend having a lighter lunch before your 3:00 PM check-in.

We stayed as a group of six across four generations, from age 88 to 3, to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. Thank you for the celebratory message card in our Hotel Room and for gifting us a special dessert plate during our meal. It became a wonderful memory. We would love to stay again.

The Hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. They contacted us the day before to Check Reservation, and their support at check-in and friendly greetings whenever we passed made us feel truly cared for. The view of Lake Biwa from the bath was also wonderful, making for a fantastic stay.

This Accommodation offered excellent value for money. The paid open-air baths at the neighboring Yumotokan were wonderful—especially the one farthest from this Accommodation. You get a panoramic view of Lake Biwa. I recommend enjoying it both while it’s still light out and again for the night view. It was fun visiting different baths around the property. I had seen a Review saying there was no elevator, so choosing the second floor was the right call. I couldn’t help eating the ice cream in the lobby. The meals were delicious as well. I didn’t have time to use the recreation room, but it had manga, massage chairs, a table tennis table, and more—it looked like a lot of fun. When I first entered the Room, there was a slightly unusual smell, but once I turned on the Plasmacluster air purifier I stopped noticing it. The Room was clean, so maybe it was related to the plumbing? The staff were pleasant, it’s great value for money, and I highly recommend it.

We chose this Accommodation because it offers views of Lake Biwa. The scenery throughout the property was exactly as shown in the photos on the website, and we were captivated by the refined design and attention to detail. We booked a Plan that included breakfast and dinner, and every dish made generous use of local ingredients and was truly delicious. We would love to return, and we would also like to recommend it to someone special. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

At the time of Reservation for a Multiple Night Stay, the second night was in a different Room, but when we arrived we were told there had been a cancellation, so it was easy and convenient to stay in the same Room.

It was a Hotel with an outstanding view and location overlooking Lake Biwa. We made a Reservation for two twin Rooms for our family, and they even connected the two Rooms internally—service beyond what we expected. Although there are limited hours of use, the panoramic bath on the 7th floor was also great. The Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we had a very pleasant stay.

This was my first time staying here. The rate was JPY 10,000 per person for one night with two meals (JPY 20,000 for two people). The room was a fairly spacious twin, and we were able to relax comfortably. We were also satisfied with the meals. If I have the chance, I would like to stay again. The bath is available from 10:00 after check-out the next day, so we could only use it on the previous day. It would have been nice if it had been open from the morning as well.

Many of the staff are from overseas, and I was truly impressed by how carefully and thoughtfully they worked. Both the Room and the bath were clean, and I felt they provided perfect service despite limited space, staffing, and pricing. The curry was delicious! Thank you very much!

I have stayed at Hotels across the whole country, but this stay was truly memorable. What impressed me first was the hospitality of the staff. It wasn’t a formal, scripted service—each person conveyed a genuine warmth that made it clear they truly love this town and this Accommodation, and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. For dinner, we went to a restaurant called “Nao,” which the Hotel recommended, and it was absolutely the right choice. It wasn’t aimed at tourists; it let us experience local charm, and it allowed us to enjoy not only our stay but also the city of Otsu itself. I think this is a unique value that comes from a Hotel that treasures its connection with the community. In the past, I also stayed with a large group at Matsumoto Jujo, another property in the Jiyujin Hotels group (I organized that trip). Matsumoto Jujo was highly satisfying as well, but personally, HOTEL Ko Otsu Hyakucho left an even stronger impression. The reason is the space and hospitality created by making use of traditional townhouses designated as Registered Tangible Cultural Properties. Rather than simply staying at a Hotel, it felt like living in the town for a while. While preserving the character of these historic buildings, comfort is fully ensured, creating a distinctive sense of calm. It offered an appeal you can’t get from large-scale Hotels or luxury Ryokan. If you’re looking not for flashy services or extravagant Facility features but to enjoy local culture, streetscapes, and encounters with people, I highly recommend this Accommodation. It was one of those rare Hotels where staying there becomes part of the purpose of your trip.

It was convenient and easy to access from Otsu. The view was great as well. The bathroom was clean, which was very helpful. We traveled with two infants, and when we asked in advance, they provided baby items for us. There were three breakfast venues, so we were able to enter without waiting.
