The bath, the room, the sauna, the food, and all of the staff were outstanding. The goats were incredibly cute and so relaxing! My daughter was totally absorbed in feeding them and said on the way home that she definitely wants to stay again! We plan to visit again if we have the chance!

Recently, I had been staying mostly at foreign-owned Resort Hotels, but I was truly impressed by the outstanding balance and high standards in every aspect—service, cuisine, Room quality, and the Onsen. It reminded me of the exceptional level of Japanese hospitality.

This was my first stay. The welcome drink included alcohol, and it made a fantastic first impression. After checking in at the compact yet open and airy lobby, I headed to my room. It was efficiently laid out, spotless, and so well designed that it felt like my home had been upgraded. The semi-open-air hinoki bath smelled wonderful, the water temperature was easy to adjust, and I was able to relax fully at just the right temperature. The amenities were excellent, and I was especially happy to try a Kinujyo hair dryer for the first time. Dinner was a creative kaiseki course and truly outstanding. The Inaho dish had an addictive flavor, the apple gratin was delicious, and the hamo (pike conger) and duck dobin-mushi was exceptional. They kindly made rice balls from the matsutake rice I couldn’t finish, and even the late-night inari sushi snack was delicious—everything felt thoughtfully prepared with no shortcuts. The clam soup at breakfast was so good that I asked for seconds. I also appreciated that service at both dinner and breakfast was attentive yet unobtrusive—not overly pushy—which can be hard to balance. Check-out being at 12:00 allowed me to enjoy the hot spring again after breakfast. I had a wonderfully relaxing time enjoying both the hot springs and the meals, and I would love to stay again.

We stayed in a special Room as three generations during the Obon holidays this year. First of all, we were amazed at how spacious the Room was! The bath was also large, and our 3-year-old daughter was thrilled. Both the sushi kaiseki dinner we had been looking forward to most and the breakfast were truly delicious. We could enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace in a private dining room, and the fountain show was beautiful. The service was excellent as well. There isn’t a playroom for children, but our daughter seemed to have lots of fun feeding the koi in the garden, reading picture books in the library, and doing the stamp rally. The adults were also able to enjoy some relaxing time for the first time in a while. We’re already talking about how next time Italian would be nice, teppanyaki would be great too, and kaiseki was wonderful as well. We’d love to visit again. Thank you very much.

We are always very satisfied with the pleasant hospitality, delicious meals, and relaxing Onsen. This time, we chose the teppanyaki dinner course for the first time, and it was delicious and very satisfying. It made us want to visit again right away, so as soon as we returned home, we promptly made our next Reservation. We look forward to staying with you again.

We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. It was our first family trip with the puppy we had just welcomed home, and we had many worries, but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the well-stocked amenities, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. And above all, the meals were delicious!! We had both breakfast and dinner, and both left us completely satisfied—full in body and heart. The Onsen in the large public bath was wonderful as well. The open-air bath in our Room is not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing. Our family has already been saying how we want to come back again soon.

Because we had such a wonderful experience on our previous stay, we chose to stay here again. The hospitality of all the staff was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the carefully prepared kaiseki dinners and breakfasts. The various hot spring baths were very relaxing, and we also appreciated the artwork by Masami Goma displayed throughout the property. We had a truly restful time and would love to return again.

I stayed here because I wanted to visit Gotemba Premium Outlets again after a long time. The room was clean, and the large public bath was excellent. The well-reviewed breakfast was delicious, with many local ingredients from Gotemba on offer. It was so good that I wished it were available for dinner as well. I’d like to stay here again the next time I visit Gotemba.

It was a very comfortable stay. The French dinner was outstanding, and we were truly satisfied! The bread was also excellent. We hope you will maintain this level of quality. The bath and the room layout were well designed, and we felt thoughtful attention to detail from the guest’s perspective. We would love to visit again.

We had a relaxing stay as a couple. The service was excellent, and the property was kept very clean. The meals were especially outstanding, and we could really feel the care and passion of the kitchen staff. Everything was beautifully and thoughtfully presented, and the flavors were superb. I made a last-minute reservation two days before my stay. The front desk staff were very kind and attentive, and their friendly, approachable manner left a great impression. Even though I booked at a very low rate, they upgraded my room because there was availability. The room and bathroom were spacious, and my child really enjoyed it. I will stay here again when visiting the Gotemba area. Thank you very much.

We have stayed with our dog at many luxury hotels in Japan and abroad, and this was honestly one of the very best—easily competing for No.1 or No.2. If I were to compare it overseas, it’s hard to say which is better: this or the Manor at Capella Singapore. It was a truly outstanding detached villa suite that stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s top luxury hotels. We stayed for two nights from 9/20 with three family members and our dog. Because a typhoon was approaching, we arrived early, but the staff handled everything politely and smoothly and kindly escorted us to our room about two hours earlier than usual. Before our stay, I read every review on Ikkyu, and it felt like many of the past concerns had been addressed. I was also impressed by how sincerely you seem to take guest feedback. Since this two-night stay cost around JPY 1,000,000, I was slightly worried about whether it would truly feel worth the price—but the sense of exclusivity in the detached villa (No.100) exceeded all expectations. A dedicated parking space, an approximately 300 m² private dog run, a two-story/two-bedroom layout, in-room dining available only for this villa, complimentary champagne and drinks in the refrigerator, private dining rooms when using the restaurant—every detail felt thoughtfully elevated in a way that made perfect sense. The meals were especially exceptional—clearly a step above any hotel we’ve stayed at before. The matsutake course and clay-pot rice were superb, and on our second night you prepared an entirely different menu from the first. To truly experience RETONA at its best (ideally in this villa suite), I strongly recommend staying at least two nights. (I’m sure other rooms are wonderful as well.) It became an unforgettable three days worthy of my daughter’s 12th birthday and our dog’s 6th birthday. We are deeply grateful to all staff members for your warm hospitality—including your attentive email communication even before arrival. If I may mention just one small point: there was a spider web on the ceiling above the sink area. We fully understand that insects are common given the natural surroundings—and it was minor enough for us to remove ourselves—but checking higher areas as well would make everything even more perfect. Next time we will definitely return as a family to stay in the same room again—perhaps in spring or summer—to enjoy seasonal dishes in another time of year. This has become one of my favorite luxury hotels; thank you very much for everything.

We stayed here to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. The meals were even better than before—delicious and very satisfying. The view from the room was wonderful and truly relaxing. We stayed here to coincide with my husband’s refresh leave for his 5-year work anniversary. Because it’s in a quiet location and has only a small number of rooms, it was the perfect place for us as a dual-income couple to escape our busy daily routine and enjoy truly luxurious time together. The in-room bath was very spacious, and we could relax comfortably as a couple. Above all, the hot spring water felt wonderful and left our skin silky smooth. Since it’s a semi-open-air bath, we found it especially comfortable. At many other inns, private open-air baths or in-room open-air baths often have the washing area outside as well, but here you can simply open the window to make it semi-open-air—so we didn’t end up shivering while washing. During our one-night stay, we used the bath five times; even at checkout, we wished we could soak one more time and were sad to leave. The washbasin area was also spacious, so we could both get ready slowly in the morning. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious: sashimi with carefully crafted sauces, many bite-sized seasonal dishes served in a basket arrangement, and seasonal chestnut rice cooked on the spot. Breakfast was also very filling—the grilled fish and tofu were especially good. Yukata were provided as loungewear, but since I tend to get a cold stomach easily, I thought it would be nice if there were pants-style options like samue. Also, since this trip fell during our wedding anniversary month, I felt an anniversary plan would be appreciated. It wouldn’t need to be elaborate—something simple like an celebratory message on a dessert plate or taking a photo and gifting it in a small frame would make for a lovely keepsake. All of the staff were courteous and warm-hearted in their hospitality, which made this trip extremely satisfying.

With the golf green right in front of the Room, you can relax at ease in a refreshing setting. The Onsen is also spacious and very soothing. Perfect for enjoying “doing nothing.”

Since we reserved a detached Room, we were able to check in early and enjoy the open-air bath at the large public bath at our own pace. The Room was spacious and spotless, and above all, the charming open-air bath was outstanding. The meals were not only made with quality ingredients but also thoughtfully prepared with extra care, which we enjoyed to the very end. Every member of the guest room staff was pleasant, chatting with us in a friendly way while keeping a comfortable distance. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

Thank you for your hospitality. It rained that day, but on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji straight ahead from the lobby. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning; the homemade yogurt and dressings were made with quality ingredients and were delicious. It was a continental breakfast, but we left feeling very full. The bath was clean, and we could see the night view of Gotemba from the open-air bath. On a clear day, you can also see Mt. Fuji straight ahead. The staff were polite and welcoming with warm smiles. This time, we requested a Room on the Mt. Fuji side and stayed on the second floor. Because it was labeled “Mt. Fuji side,” we assumed we would be able to see Mt. Fuji from the window, but in reality we could only see forest. In that case, I feel there was no need to make a Reservation for the more expensive Mt. Fuji-side Room. In any event, it was a very nice Hotel overall. Thank you very much.

This was my second stay. Just like last time, I was very satisfied. Each dish was well seasoned, and the freshly fried tempura was delicious. The sushi was slightly dry, but still acceptable. Since it was a buffet, empty plates were cleared quickly, so I could go back for seconds comfortably. I would like to come again.

From the moment we arrived, the staff’s courteous service made us look forward to a wonderful stay. The Room felt open and airy, with lush greenery visible through large windows, and the layout was thoughtfully designed for ease of use. The very spacious semi-open-air bath was at just the right temperature, so we ended up soaking for a long time; perhaps thanks to the spring quality as well, we felt warmed through to our core. The meals used a wide variety of ingredients, were clearly explained, and offered delicious dishes with plenty of variety. Given our age, there was more than enough in both quantity and quality without ordering anything extra, and we were very satisfied. Because it is not a large Accommodation, getting around was easy and stress-free without any chance of getting lost, which we also appreciated. Even at departure they took great care in seeing us off—an Accommodation that left us with a pleasant afterglow. The total cost can vary widely depending on food and drinks (wine), but this time we felt it was an excellent value for money. We have one more favorite Accommodation in Hakone now.
