The staff’s attentive hospitality and thoughtful care were truly wonderful, and I was able to spend a very comfortable stay from check-in to check-out. The interior of the property and the room features a calm Japanese-modern design in greige tones, with impeccable taste in decor. It was exactly my kind of style, so I found myself simply gazing around and feeling soothed. The rooftop lounge offered an abundant selection of juices, alcoholic drinks, coffee, Atami’s famous sweets, and light snacks. I couldn’t believe I could choose so freely—can I really have any of these?—and I got genuinely excited. Sipping drinks, enjoying sweets, soaking in the foot bath… it was such a luxurious time taking in the views of Atami. The staff also maintained the perfect level of attentiveness—providing towels to dry our feet and preparing drinks—so considerate in every way. I’m truly grateful. What especially impressed me was the full-course dinner. Each dish was beautifully presented—not only a feast for the eyes—but also had deep flavors with sauces crafted down to the finest detail. I was genuinely moved. Even now, looking back at my photos brings back that lingering feeling: how beautiful it was and how delicious everything tasted. Everything—the room, the meals, and the hospitality—was perfect. It was a place where I could truly refresh from the heart. I feel fully recharged; I’ll do my best day by day and hope to return again someday. Thank you very much.

I stayed with my elderly mother, my niece who had returned from abroad, and my daughter. They were very kind and attentive to foreign guests, and they accommodated our food requests exactly as asked. We are truly grateful. Unfortunately, it rained heavily both days so we couldn’t do much sightseeing, but Hakone Shrine was within walking distance for a stroll. The next day the roads were closed and it was quite difficult, but the staff informed us early in the morning, which helped a lot and became a good memory for my nieces as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

We were thoroughly satisfied with the many delicious, beautifully presented dishes that captured the transition from summer to autumn. We enjoyed them in a private dining Room with a waterfall right in front of us. We stayed in a detached suite called Suirei, where a small stream runs through the Room. From the spacious open-air bath, there is another smaller open-air bath just down a few steps; each has a different temperature, so you can soak for as long as you like. The garden was also expansive, and we were able to fully enjoy summer and feel refreshed. Thank you very much for celebrating our 60th birthday with us. I hope to visit again even when I’m a grandmother.

Everyone at the Ryokan was very attentive and provided excellent service, so I felt completely at ease during my stay. The meals were also kaiseki cuisine, and both dinner and breakfast were filling—I was very satisfied. The indoor bath also had a wonderful atmosphere and was great. I would love to visit again. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The Facilities, the staff’s atmosphere, and the meals were all excellent. It was clear that each staff member truly loves dogs and enjoys working here. We would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. As soon as we drove up to the entrance, the staff—already waiting—welcomed us with amazingly smooth, attentive service. I was nervous in an unfamiliar place, but before I knew it I was in the lobby with Bach playing softly, looking out at the sea and enjoying a chilled glass of champagne, my excitement building. The space was spotless and warmly appointed, and the selection of sweets, drinks, and amenities showed impeccable taste. The toothbrush was the most comfortable I’ve ever used. Above all, the bath was outstanding. With the window open, listening to birdsong and gazing at the ocean—and because it’s free-flowing—I even tried skipping a rinse-off and body cream afterward, yet my skin stayed moisturized without drying out! At dusk, the view from the lounge was beautiful. The British ginger lemonade was delicious, and we’re especially grateful to the elegant and attentive female staff member who made the lounge so wonderfully comfortable—thank you as well for preparing an orange liqueur for us at the end. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent; not only did everything taste wonderful, but the ingredients and presentation were beautiful too. That said, I couldn’t stop eating bread and butter and ended up too full by the time we reached the main course! Even so, it was cooked perfectly and tasted superb—I finished it all. Next time I’ll pace myself so I can fully enjoy everything through to the main dish. The young service staff were also highly professional and impressive. Even without mentioning that it was an anniversary—and even as first-time guests simply dropping by—we received consistently thoughtful hospitality throughout. Thank you very much.

This was my second stay—last time with my family, and this time with my mother and siblings. The ocean is right in front of you, the Room is spacious, and the hot spring source is just behind the property. The number of dishes, the staff’s service, and everything about the Onsen—its quality, cleanliness, and variety—are all just right. It’s a truly wonderful Accommodation. It seems like New Year’s holidays are decided by lottery, but I’m hoping we get selected.

We stayed in the Karaku Room. As we were traveling with my elderly parents and needed some assistance, I was a little anxious before our stay. I consulted with the property in advance, and every member of staff responded warmly and attentively, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy our trip. The ocean view from our room was breathtakingly beautiful, and at night we could see countless stars—an unforgettable sight. From the proprietress’s welcome matcha tea and sweets to each staff member’s thoughtful care and kind words, we felt genuine hospitality throughout. Every dish was truly delicious, and my parents finished everything to the last bite. In addition, the manager—who is also a sommelier—carefully listened to our preferences and selected a glass that was exactly what we were looking for. It paired wonderfully with the meal and made dinner even more special. Most of all, what stays with me is my parents’ happy smiles. When traveling with elderly parents, being able to spend time with peace of mind is essential. At Karaku, we received not only that sense of comfort but also time in which our whole family could feel truly happy. Seeing my parents smile made me think from the bottom of my heart, “I’m so glad we were all able to come here together.” Beautiful scenery, delicious food, and above all, genuine warmth from people. This time spent together as a family has become an irreplaceable memory we will never forget. I am deeply grateful that I could share such a wonderful time here with my parents. It was a truly outstanding inn—one we would love to visit again. To all the staff: thank you very much for giving our family memories we will never forget.

I traveled with my elderly parents and my daughter. The hotel had very high ratings when I researched it beforehand, so we arrived with high expectations. It truly was an outstanding hotel that more than lived up to them. We were moved by the panoramic ocean view from our room. Everything was spotless and very clean. For dinner, we chose the seasonal kaiseki course; the restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere, and we enjoyed a relaxed evening savoring delicious dishes at our own pace. Each item was carefully prepared—beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious. My daughter and parents were especially impressed by the toro-taku. My parents are older and have weak teeth, but the wagyu steak was so tender that they could enjoy it without any trouble. They usually don’t eat much, yet they finished everything, which really surprised me. We used the large public bath, and the view from there was also incredible. The next morning, I woke up early with my parents and watched the sunrise from our room’s terrace; seeing how moved my father was made me feel deeply emotional as well. Breakfast was a buffet with Japanese and Western options plus a few Chinese dishes, so everyone could choose what they liked—we enjoyed it very much. The freshly made fluffy omelet and freshly squeezed orange juice were especially delicious. After check-out, the staff kindly assisted us all the way to the station, for which we are very grateful. I was able to give my parents a wonderful trip full of great memories. Thank you very much! We will definitely return again.

This was our second stay at Sekiyo. We were upgraded from Taikan and were able to stay in Kangetsuan. It was our first time in a detached guest room, and it was very quiet. From time to time, small birds came to the tree by the window, and my spouse and I were able to relax at a leisurely pace. We also fully enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. The meals were wonderful—there were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all, and everything was delicious. The attentive service from the room attendant was excellent as well, and we would love to visit Sekiyo again.

We stayed here on a three-generation family trip. They kindly lent a wheelchair to my mother, who has difficulty walking, and the staff member in charge took wonderful care of us. Our whole family became a fan of them. (Thank you very much.) The hospitality was outstanding, and the baths were very clean. We were able to relax at our own pace. Every dish was delicious, and because meals were served in our room or in private dining rooms, we hardly ran into other guests inside the property. It was quiet and very comfortable. The Scandinavian chairs, reading materials, and small decorative items placed throughout the building were lovely as well—the sense of style was truly exceptional. It’s an inn that makes you want to come back. We would love to visit again in a different season.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The ocean was right in front of us—what a wonderful view!! The staff were all smiles and the service was excellent!! We were very satisfied with the delicious meals while enjoying the scenery. It was also great to relax on the terrace. Above all, we had been looking forward to watching the sunrise from the open-air bath in our room, and we were truly moved to see the sun rise directly over the horizon of the sea right in front of us. The food was truly delicious! Not only dinner, but also the vegetables at breakfast were excellent. The restaurant where we enjoyed the welcome drink and the guests-only lounge were both very comfortable, and we had a wonderful time. The bath felt a little small, but it was clean and pleasant. We were impressed and would love to stay again.

Surrender to a serene space and listen to the sounds of the gorge as time passes quietly. The in-room Onsen, kept at a gentle temperature, invites you to soak slowly as body and mind unwind. This timeworn wooden building lives on, its age transformed into beauty. Every corner of the Accommodation is carefully maintained, and its presence carries unmistakable elegance. And then—clear dashi broth, the richness of local fish, and the fragrance of matsutake mushrooms. Each ingredient’s character is brought out with care, with thoughtful attention to layered flavors, lingering finishes, and the flow of each kaiseki course. An Accommodation where you can come close to the essence of beauty.

The staff’s attentive service and the cleanliness of the room were excellent, and the room layout—especially the flow—made it very comfortable to stay in. The meals and hot springs were also wonderful. We will definitely stay again. P.S. We would appreciate it if the in-room bath tub could be a bit larger.

This was a return visit, and I was delighted that you remembered me and greeted me. Once again, it was a stay that made me want to come back. The free-flowing hot spring water was wonderful, and I stayed warm long after my bath. I also truly appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the proprietress kindly offering extra yukata and towels. Every dish was genuinely delicious—not only the sashimi and simmered dishes, but even the rice left a strong impression. I was told it was “Milky Queen glacier rice,” and it was sweet and pleasantly chewy; the rice itself felt like a feast. The dried fish at breakfast was also grilled to crispy perfection all the way to the head, and I ended up eating it neatly to the last bite. I’m grateful for such a delicious meal. Being able to have dinner served in the room is one of this inn’s charms. This time, since I wanted to get some work done in my room as well, I chose to dine in the dining area instead. In that spacious room with large windows—without turning on the TV—I found it incredibly relaxing to take my time and focus on each dish. The chair and table placed in the sunroom area of my room were also perfect for light work and very comfortable. It’s also nice that plenty of coffee and tea are provided. The flowers in the alcove were beautiful and lifted my spirits. The futon bedding was fluffy, too—I slept very well. If I could make just one request, having a power strip in the room would be even more helpful. Other than that, everything was excellent. I’d love to return again for the hot springs, wonderful food, and warm hospitality.

Blessed with beautiful weather, we had a wonderful stay in an elegant sukiya-style setting. The welcome drink—Alain Milliat juice—was so delicious that we couldn’t resist having a second glass. The hotel’s signature lemon cake was also excellent, and we bought one as a souvenir. From both the room and the dining area, we enjoyed expansive ocean views stretching out to Hatsushima and Izu Oshima, creating a wonderfully open atmosphere. Dining while taking in such magnificent scenery was truly exceptional. My husband enjoyed the wine pairing, and thanks to the staff kindly adjusting my course portions to be smaller, I was able to savor every dish through to the end. They also packed the final dessert for takeaway in an adorable box, which was a thoughtful touch. The bath in our room felt like an open-air bath when we opened the window; with perfect weather, it was incredibly relaxing. With stunning views, delicious cuisine, and attentive hospitality throughout, it was a memorable stay that left us feeling refreshed. We would love to visit again.

We chose the Anniversary Plan as it coincided with my husband’s five-year service refresh leave and the month of our wedding anniversary. On this Hakone trip, we used the free pass and hadn’t realized the hotel was on higher ground, so we quickly arranged a taxi to get there. After the hassle of getting there, I briefly wondered if we’d chosen the wrong place—but that concern disappeared as soon as we arrived. From the large lobby windows, we had a clear view of Lake Ashi, and it was immediately obvious this is a hotel with an outstanding view—scenery you can only get from an elevated location. Our room’s balcony also faced Lake Ashi and had a comfortable table set and an open-air bath. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, so we made coffee right away and enjoyed it on the balcony with the complimentary fruit while relaxing together and taking in the lake view. There were two types of coffee. I appreciated that one was decaf—perfect for evening so caffeine wouldn’t affect sleep—while in the morning there was a richer option to help you wake up. It felt very thoughtful. The bathing setup was also excellent: there was an indoor shower room, so we didn’t have to worry about getting cold while washing up, and then we could simply enjoy soaking in the open-air bath out on the scenic balcony. The hot spring water felt wonderful; I soaked many times and my skin felt silky smooth. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious, but especially memorable was the meat: thick yet incredibly tender, with enough fat to be flavorful while still tasting light. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had meat that good before. The tableware was also beautifully chosen throughout, making each course visually enjoyable as well. The staff were all polite and attentive. One newer staff member seemed possibly mixed heritage; her explanations were sometimes a little hard to catch, but her sincere effort came through clearly and left a great impression. Although we only told them about our anniversary on check-in day, they not only prepared a celebratory message plate but also took photos for us at short notice and presented them to us at breakfast the next morning—it became a wonderful keepsake. The next morning, lake fog covered all of Lake Ashi’s surface, creating an incredibly beautiful, dreamlike scene. We made coffee again in our room and enjoyed it together on the balcony—it truly felt like a luxurious time.

This was our second stay, and everything—from the facilities and cuisine to the service—was excellent. The truffle rice at dinner (maybe it was just my imagination) seemed even more fragrant with dashi than last time—it was so good I felt like I could eat bowl after bowl! There is a fully equipped grooming room, and the high-quality shampoo and conditioner were excellent—we were very satisfied. The view was disappointing due to dense fog and rain, but we had a great time playing in the covered dog run. We also received plenty of treats and food for our dogs, so we will definitely be back.
