Everyone at the Ryokan was very attentive and provided excellent service, so I felt completely at ease during my stay. The meals were also kaiseki cuisine, and both dinner and breakfast were filling—I was very satisfied. The indoor bath also had a wonderful atmosphere and was great. I would love to visit again. The staff’s attentive hospitality and thoughtful care were truly wonderful, and I was able to spend a very comfortable stay from check-in to check-out. The interior of the property and the room features a calm Japanese-modern design in greige tones, with impeccable taste in decor. It was exactly my kind of style, so I found myself simply gazing around and feeling soothed. The rooftop lounge offered an abundant selection of juices, alcoholic drinks, coffee, Atami’s famous sweets, and light snacks. I couldn’t believe I could choose so freely—can I really have any of these?—and I got genuinely excited. Sipping drinks, enjoying sweets, soaking in the foot bath… it was such a luxurious time taking in the views of Atami. The staff also maintained the perfect level of attentiveness—providing towels to dry our feet and preparing drinks—so considerate in every way. I’m truly grateful. What especially impressed me was the full-course dinner. Each dish was beautifully presented—not only a feast for the eyes—but also had deep flavors with sauces crafted down to the finest detail. I was genuinely moved. Even now, looking back at my photos brings back that lingering feeling: how beautiful it was and how delicious everything tasted. Everything—the room, the meals, and the hospitality—was perfect. It was a place where I could truly refresh from the heart. I feel fully recharged; I’ll do my best day by day and hope to return again someday. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay at Sekiyo. We were upgraded from Taikan and were able to stay in Kangetsuan. It was our first time in a detached guest room, and it was very quiet. From time to time, small birds came to the tree by the window, and my spouse and I were able to relax at a leisurely pace. We also fully enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. The meals were wonderful—there were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all, and everything was delicious. The attentive service from the room attendant was excellent as well, and we would love to visit Sekiyo again.

Surrender to a serene space and listen to the sounds of the gorge as time passes quietly. The in-room Onsen, kept at a gentle temperature, invites you to soak slowly as body and mind unwind. This timeworn wooden building lives on, its age transformed into beauty. Every corner of the Accommodation is carefully maintained, and its presence carries unmistakable elegance. And then—clear dashi broth, the richness of local fish, and the fragrance of matsutake mushrooms. Each ingredient’s character is brought out with care, with thoughtful attention to layered flavors, lingering finishes, and the flow of each kaiseki course. An Accommodation where you can come close to the essence of beauty.

All staff members who supported us were incredibly hospitable, and it made our trip truly wonderful. Our whole family was very satisfied—thank you! The facilities were up to date, and the security was excellent. The Ryokan was also very clean and hygienic. Both dinner and breakfast were delicately and elegantly seasoned, everything was fresh, and we enjoyed every dish—it was all delicious. This is a Hotel we would definitely want to stay at again! Thank you as well for preparing surprise plates for us on two consecutive days!

The Onsen, the food, the service, and the Room were all beyond our expectations, and we were able to truly relax. It had been a while since we stayed in a Japanese-style room; lying on the tatami and gazing at the garden, we enjoyed the luxury of doing absolutely nothing. The only disappointment was that while the private bath has a wonderful ocean view, there is an apartment building directly in front of it, and I was quite concerned that the washing area might be visible from there.

I stayed at Fujitaya, a historic ryokan in Yugawara. What stood out first was the beautifully preserved historic building, which is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. The atmosphere of a traditional Japanese inn can be felt throughout, and despite its age, it is meticulously maintained. It didn’t feel simply “old”—it felt like a place that has been carefully protected with respect for its history, creating a truly charming setting. The highlight of this stay was the food. Dinner was served in the room as kaiseki cuisine, and every dish was delicious—I could really sense the high quality. I’m a slow eater, but the attendant kindly adjusted to my pace until the very end. They were considerate about when to bring each course, and in particular, our attendant chatted with us warmly between dishes, which made the meal even more enjoyable. It reminded me that staying at a ryokan isn’t only about eating well—it’s also about these personal interactions. I truly appreciated being able to enjoy dinner slowly along with such pleasant conversation. That said, because it is in-room kaiseki dining, staff will come in and out frequently to serve dishes and clear them away. I personally appreciated the attentive service, but for guests who prioritize privacy or quiet time in their room, this may be something to keep in mind. The hot spring baths were also excellent—especially the quality of the water. Soaking slowly in such good onsen within a historic building felt like a luxury unique to an established ryokan. It is not an inexpensive place to stay, but considering the delicious kaiseki cuisine, high-quality onsen water, and above all the thoughtful hospitality, it was more than satisfying. A wonderful ryokan that carefully preserves its historic architecture while never compromising on food or service—an experience that reminded me of what makes long-established Japanese inns so special.

We were satisfied with everything—the free drinks, dinner, and breakfast. There were also five types of private open-air baths, and the instructions were easy to understand, which was wonderful. Most of the staff are from overseas, but everyone spoke Japanese very well, so we had no trouble at all and enjoyed a comfortable stay thanks to their polite service.

I traveled with my elderly parents and my daughter. The hotel had very high ratings when I researched it beforehand, so we arrived with high expectations. It truly was an outstanding hotel that more than lived up to them. We were moved by the panoramic ocean view from our room. Everything was spotless and very clean. For dinner, we chose the seasonal kaiseki course; the restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere, and we enjoyed a relaxed evening savoring delicious dishes at our own pace. Each item was carefully prepared—beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious. My daughter and parents were especially impressed by the toro-taku. My parents are older and have weak teeth, but the wagyu steak was so tender that they could enjoy it without any trouble. They usually don’t eat much, yet they finished everything, which really surprised me. We used the large public bath, and the view from there was also incredible. The next morning, I woke up early with my parents and watched the sunrise from our room’s terrace; seeing how moved my father was made me feel deeply emotional as well. Breakfast was a buffet with Japanese and Western options plus a few Chinese dishes, so everyone could choose what they liked—we enjoyed it very much. The freshly made fluffy omelet and freshly squeezed orange juice were especially delicious. After check-out, the staff kindly assisted us all the way to the station, for which we are very grateful. I was able to give my parents a wonderful trip full of great memories. Thank you very much! We will definitely return again.

We stayed here for a maternity trip and to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We were impressed by Atagawa’s charming entrance and the refined elegance of the interior. The hinoki indoor bath, stone open-air bath, and luxurious amenities such as Sekkisei and Acca Kappa made our stay feel truly indulgent. Walking through the quiet stone garden to the dining venue, “Donkon,” we found an atmosphere so sophisticated it would suit a stylish wedding ceremony. The cuisine was lavish and beautifully prepared, and we enjoyed every moment. Two things especially moved us during dinner. One was the proprietress’s warm personality—graceful yet friendly—and she kindly explained highlights of each dish. The other was their thoughtful accommodation for pregnancy. When making our Reservation, I didn’t request any changes, thinking it would be easier to have my husband eat anything I couldn’t. However, upon arrival, the staff proactively offered an alternative and changed my sashimi to miso-grilled spiny lobster. It was delicious, and we were deeply touched by their consideration. We would love to return once our baby is born.

We traveled with our 3-month-old baby. With breakfast and dinner served in the Room and a private bath, we were able to relax and take our time. The staff kindly laid out the futons early and spoke to us gently, and their warm hospitality was truly comforting. The meals at the restaurant were excellent—we even had seconds of rice. Both the Room and the garden were beautifully maintained, making our stay very pleasant. We had wondered if it would be an issue without an open-air bath, but the in-Room bath was more than enough for us to enjoy.

I gave my elderly mother, who can go anywhere on her own, a solo trip as a gift. When she returned home, she was truly delighted and spoke very highly of the wonderful service provided by the Ryokan staff. The meals were also delicious, and above all, it seems she was able to relax completely. Thank you very much. I plan to give her another trip as a gift once more within this year, and I would appreciate your kind support when that time comes.

The hot spring water is gentle and the temperature is just right. As others have mentioned, the private bath is easy to use and absolutely wonderful.\nOur child was thrilled to experience an open-air bath for the first time.\nThe alfonsino (kinmedai) was delicious—we ordered an extra portion and highly recommend it.\nThe service and hospitality were excellent as well!\nAbove all, we were amazed by the value for money—the quality of the meals and the hot spring water at this price in this area is truly highly recommended.

The in-room hot spring bath with free-flowing source water was wonderful. The view from the room was also amazing. I stayed in and worked as part of my job, and it went very smoothly. Thank you always for your wonderful hospitality. While many Accommodations have changed before and after COVID, I can truly relax with peace of mind knowing the quality here is consistently the same whenever I visit. The cuisine delighted my eyes, satisfied my palate, and deeply moved me. The hot spring was excellent, and the Room was exceptionally comfortable. This time, for the first time, I encountered deer and wild boar and felt the mystical power of nature as well. Thank you for such a wonderful escape from everyday life. The Room was spacious and had a veranda-like deck called the Tsukimidai, with a nice view and the ocean visible in the distance. Meals were served in the Room, and every dish was delicious—we finished everything at both breakfast and dinner. However, it was disappointing that the drinks in the refrigerator were expensive. The Onsen also felt very open; while I did wonder if it might be visible from somewhere, I was still able to bathe comfortably. Another bath area was spacious, and the water in the roofed open-air bath left my skin feeling moisturized like lotion. Inside the building, it seems to have been expanded many times over the years, so some areas are a bit confusing, and many guests seemed to get lost. There were only a few souvenirs for sale, and there were no Facilities such as karaoke or table tennis, but it had an old-fashioned Ryokan atmosphere that we really enjoyed.

This was my second stay this year, and I visited with my mother. My mother is nearing her 88th birthday, but she still has a great appetite and finished everything, even having seconds from the rice tub. I visited long ago with my mother and grandmother as well, so I feel truly happy to have an Accommodation we can return to across three generations—my grandmother, my mother, and me. Unfortunately it rained this time, but thanks to that the signature stones and garden trees were gently wet, letting us enjoy a different kind of beautiful scenery than usual. Thank you again for your warm hospitality. I look forward to visiting again.

Thanks to you, we had a wonderful trip. Spending a full day relaxing in complete privacy, without meeting anyone and without worrying about time, was truly a luxury. They upgraded our Room beyond what we had reserved, and we unexpectedly got to stay in a 120 m² suite. The suite with a spacious ocean-view balcony was simply breathtaking! The blue-themed interior was beautiful as well, and we enjoyed a truly luxurious stay. The restaurant food was excellent, and the freshly fried horse mackerel at the live kitchen and the roast beef really lived up to expectations. At check-in, they asked about the purpose of our trip; when we told them it was for our wedding anniversary, they surprised us with an anniversary dessert plate—an unforgettable Hotel stay from start to finish. They also offer Shuttle Service, so even without a car we were able to get there without any trouble. We would love to return.
