The meals exceeded our expectations. True to the auberge’s name, we were extremely satisfied not only with the flavors but also with the generous portions. For dinner, we enjoyed items such as angel shrimp and steak. For dessert, the chef served each portion at our table. Breakfast was also excellent, with homemade sausage, ham, ketchup, and more. We were also very happy with the homemade jam souvenir. The outdoor bath could be reserved for private use, so we were able to relax at our own pace. The mini jet bath in the Onsen was wonderful as well. In a quiet and spotless Room, we were able to spend a truly relaxing and fulfilling time. We highly recommend this Accommodation.

I can relax at a leisurely pace and enjoy delicious food, so I visit almost every year. This time, I came with a group of seven, including first-time guests. Everyone enjoyed the peaceful scenery of the white birch trees and Lake Megami along with the wonderful cuisine. We were all very satisfied, and everyone said they would like to come again next year.

We stayed in the new wing this time. The Room layout, design, and atmosphere were excellent, and we were able to spend both nights very comfortably. The meals were very luxurious, but since we had a Multiple Night Stay, the buffet was the same on both days—if the main dish changed by day, it would have been even better. Above all, there are amusement parks and a zoo nearby, and since we traveled with children, it was a flawless five-star stay. Also, the Onsen offers a mixed-gender style where swimsuits are worn, so our whole family could bathe together and our kids were thrilled. We would like to visit again around the same time next year.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days! On the evening of our arrival, we enjoyed a BBQ at the Glamorous Dining area. Everything was delicious—especially the bone-in pork, which was tender, flavorful, and outstanding. We also grilled the dessert apples and marshmallows perfectly, and they were very tasty. The Weber gas grill was large and easy to use; the meat grilled lightly as excess fat dripped away, while the vegetables turned out sweet and juicy. We truly enjoyed everything that makes a BBQ special. The weather was only good on the day we arrived, and unfortunately it rained for the remaining two days, so our pickleball plans were canceled. Instead, we took a trip to Matsumoto for soba noodles and enjoyed an Onsen, which made for a relaxing stay overall. The Facility is old, but the Room was spacious and easy to use. We’d love to come back again when the weather is better.

I love the calm atmosphere of Tateshina Tokyu Hotel and have stayed here several times. Its setting in the forest, the dignified yet unpretentious interiors, and the quiet time you can spend here offer a charm that is hard to find at other hotels. This time was no different, and it reminded me again how much I like this hotel. Also, though it’s a small thing, I really like the toothbrushes in the guest rooms. They’re comfortable to use, and I can feel the hotel’s thoughtfulness even in these details. I hope you will continue with the current ones. On the other hand, precisely because I’ve been coming for many years, there are a few things that disappointed me. The biggest one is that Japanese dinner has been discontinued since this year. On a Multiple Night Stay, we used to enjoy being able to choose “Western tonight, Japanese tomorrow” within the hotel itself. Especially for us—who prefer not to drive once we arrive and instead relax in the forest or inside—the option was very important. French cuisine certainly has its appeal, but having Western meals both nights makes it feel like a slightly different hotel than before. I would be happy if Japanese dinner becomes an option again someday. I was also sorry to hear that the garden pool, long loved by guests, has ended operations starting this year. I understand it was due to aging facilities (Facility), but combined with the end of Japanese dinner options (Facility), it feels as though some of what made Tateshina Tokyu special is gradually disappearing. One more thing I would love to see enhanced is the in-house library collection (Facility). This is such a quiet Hotel where you can relax while looking out at the forest—perfect for reading. The current selection feels lacking not so much in quantity as in curation quality. If there were more books that you’d want to pick up specifically because you came to Tateshina—on Shinshu’s nature and culture, mountains, architecture, travel writing, literature—it would make time spent at this Hotel even richer. I’m not asking for new facilities or services one after another. Rather, I hope you will continue cherishing and preserving what makes this Hotel unique. These comments come from someone who truly likes this Hotel—and I hope to keep visiting for many years to come.

We stayed here for a family trip. The property was very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. The food was delicious, and we were able to enjoy the main steak freshly grilled. Thanks to Oyama no Endo, it was a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for our family trip at the end of summer vacation. It was a special Room—the only one of its kind in the Hotel. It had the space of two Rooms plus a living area, and an exceptionally large bathroom—about the size of another Room—with a spacious bathtub where you can fully stretch out, as well as a separate shower room. The bubble-bath function had been removed, but features such as the marble flooring gave it a very luxurious feel. There were also private stairs, a ramp, and an exclusive corridor leading to this special Room, with outstanding attention to privacy. From the Room, we enjoyed breathtaking views over all of Lake Megami and the surrounding mountains. There were three large TVs, which delighted our children, and we could use the air conditioning as well, so we stayed comfortable throughout our visit. The public bath included an open-air bath and even two saunas, and the lockers were clean. From the open-air bath we could look out over Lake Megami and the mountains while relaxing in the Onsen. We enjoyed cooling off in the cold bath, watching clouds drift by, and taking our time to fully appreciate Tateshina Onsen. As it was peak season, both dinner and breakfast were buffet only; while there weren’t many items overall, each dish was truly delicious. The coffee did not seem to be freshly drip-brewed from a machine like those found at some buffets, so having a coffee machine would be nice. Next time we are very much looking forward to trying kaiseki cuisine at the basement-level restaurant as well. As an IKYU.com Diamond member benefit I requested late check-out; unfortunately it wasn’t possible due to peak season demand. Still, this is such a wonderful Hotel that we wanted to stay even longer—the Room was beautiful, spacious, and impressive in every way. Thank you also for the Diamond member gifts (a bottle of wine and souvenirs from Nagano). Since in Parking Lot No. 1 the wheelchair-priority space is shared with EV charging spaces, I think it would be better to separate them so that enough spaces can be secured to meet nighttime EV charging demand while keeping accessible parking available at all times. We arrived at 11:00 and completed check-in procedures first; the front desk staff were excellent. We requested early check-in but it wasn’t possible due to peak season; however when keys became available before 3:00 p.m., they were handed out in order of completion of procedures—so arriving early was worthwhile for us after all. We will be staying in this same Room again in the future as well; thank you in advance from our whole family for your continued hospitality. Thank you very much to all staff members.”

We stayed with two adults, one 4-year-old, and one 2-year-old. The meals were amazing! Great value for the price, all-you-can-drink alcohol, and they even lent us small forks—very helpful when traveling with kids. Also, when our child insisted on sitting at a table for six in the dining area, a male staff member wearing glasses kindly let us use it. Thank you so much! All of the other staff were pleasant as well. I think it’s more worth staying here than at a Hotel that is simply clean but overpriced! My back usually hurts from sleeping on futons in Japanese-style rooms, but this futon was thicker than those at other hotels, so it helped a bit. Since this is a historic Hotel, there were some areas like cobwebs in the Room and a slightly dirty sink, but I think the quality is more than sufficient for this price. We had no problems during our stay. We’d love to stay again!

I booked while feeling uneasy because some negative Reviews stuck with me. In the end, if you don’t expect too much, you can be satisfied. The sukiyaki catering was generous and very satisfying. Breakfast was served individually rather than buffet-style, so we could eat at a relaxed pace. Drinks, rice, and pork miso soup were self-serve with free refills. Since it was a cool day—almost chilly—our dog stayed in a crate in the car. Honestly, it was a hassle that check-in/out and breakfast were at a Hotel about 5 minutes away by car. You’re given a map for the cottage, but it’s extremely hard to understand. I wish they would place arrows or signs at key turning points on site to make it clearer. The roads are narrow, and at night you’ll definitely get lost. The short set of steps from where you park to the cottage is tough. With lots of luggage for both people and our dog, you can’t use a cart either. It probably depends on the Room, but there was a full set of kitchen items, which was very convenient. No seasonings are provided. The large fridge and having plastic wrap available were small but helpful touches. Tap water is drinkable as-is, but if that concerns you, it’s better to bring your own drinks. The fridge is empty. There was only one bath towel and one smaller towel (the size you’d take into an Onsen bathing area) per person, which was inconvenient—I’d love two of each. Also, please provide newer towels; the ones for dogs were fluffier and made me wonder which were meant for people. I was very concerned about dampness in the closet where the bedding is stored and in the connected wardrobe area. It would be better managed with a dehumidifier. The insects I worried about were within an acceptable range; given the surrounding environment it can’t really be helped, so if you can’t handle bugs you should look for another Accommodation. The building is honestly old, but the Facility has been updated and everything was kept clean. Because it’s a standalone house-style building, it was very quiet and relaxing. There are no loungewear pajamas and amenities are minimal—so it’s different from staying at a Hotel—but checkout is 11:00 so we could take our time and enjoy things at our family’s pace overall we were very satisfied. Choosing no meals might also be good: shop at places like Tsuruya or local supermarkets/roadside stations (michi-no-eki) and prepare things yourself. That way you can stay with your dog all day too.

It was wonderful to experience the atmosphere of a Swiss Hotel. We were glad we could reserve the bath for private family use, and we were able to use it without any waiting time.

After the Obon holidays, we stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights starting on August 17. We found this Hotel at the last minute the day before and were really lucky to get a Reservation. We didn’t have high expectations, but both the Shirakaba Lake area and this Hotel were very lively with many guests. We had heard it was an older building, but it didn’t feel that way much. It was well maintained, our Room had no unpleasant odors, and the toilet had a washlet, which was great. The large public bath was quite spacious, and there was also an open-air bath (the water was a bit hot). Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, so we could choose what we liked. Guests who enjoy alcohol were happy with the 90-minute all-you-can-drink option. The dining hall could accommodate many people and had a warm atmosphere. For summer vacation season, the price for two nights was reasonable and we were very satisfied and able to relax. We would like to stay again.

We stayed here on a ski trip to Kurumayama. There was no snow, so driving was not a problem. We arrived around noon and asked the front desk where we could change into our ski wear, and they kindly showed us. After that, we used the Shuttle Service to and from the ski resort. It was disappointing that a Reservation was required for the bus and that it only ran about once an hour, so we were told we needed to book in advance. We checked in in the evening, and our Room was a bit far away, but it was spacious and nice once we got inside. However, there were not enough hangers and the closet was small, so it was hard to find space to hang our ski wear (it was helpful that they added more hangers when we asked at the front desk). The meals were buffet-style, and even though it’s in the mountains there was sashimi; it was crowded but items were replenished quickly, so we enjoyed it. We went as a family and had a great time overall.

The Room was spacious, allowing us to relax and enjoy time with our grandchild. During the buffet, the staff interacted with us cheerfully and seemed to be enjoying themselves as they waved. The service from the lobby staff, café staff, and dining staff was exceptionally pleasant. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

All the dishes were very delicious, and every member of the owner’s family was pleasant and kindly answered our questions. The bath is an Onsen like a pool, and it was basically assigned a time slot on a first-come, first-served basis upon arrival; there was no second session, which was disappointing for someone who loves baths. The stairs were wet, perhaps because the previous guest didn’t dry off before getting out, which raised hygiene concerns. I understand that things like changing mats may be difficult, but some countermeasures might be worth considering. The Room felt clean, although the windows and other features show their age.

As always, I truly enjoyed our conversation and appreciate the delightful time spent together. I hope you managed to visit the dentist today as planned. Despite your husband's health not being at its best, I am always grateful for the delicious meals you both provide each time. Your warm and thoughtful care never fails to impress me. Though our conversations often revolve around health matters, they are still enjoyable moments that I cherish! The atmosphere was wonderful, and we truly felt the owners’ hospitality. We really enjoyed talking with them. The scent of wood in the dining room was soothing, and the Room was more than sufficient for us. Shirakoma Pond was a bit far from here, but we’re glad we chose this Accommodation.

The Room was spacious with high ceilings, and we could see the forest from the window. The windows were large too, giving it an amazing open feel! The welcome daifuku (handmade by your daughter, I heard) was just as delicious as rumored—perfect since I was a little hungry. I was the first to use the bath, and the changing area was very spacious and extremely clean, so I could relax and enjoy it comfortably. Every meal was made with such care and tasted wonderful! I ended up having three glasses of wine. I was traveling solo, but the host and hostess kindly chatted with me, which made dinner truly enjoyable. Even though it was my first visit, they treated me no differently from regular guests, which genuinely made me happy. Unexpectedly, I came down with severe muscle soreness from hiking downhill, and they prepared cold patches, Tiger Balm, and even magnesium for me. Thanks to that, I didn’t need to go to a pharmacy—and by the day I left, going up and down stairs had become much easier. I’m truly grateful for such a warm welcome. I will definitely come again! Next time, I’d love to try your hamburger as well! Lastly, the peach tart served two nights in a row was incredible! You said it was handmade from the crust up—the buttery pastry really stood out, and there were two kinds of cream inside the peaches. It was absolutely delicious. It turned into a truly wonderful stay. I’ll be back again—thank you so much!!

The dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The portions were generous, and we were very satisfied. The Room was clean, but it was disappointing that the toilet in the Room did not have a bidet seat. The shared toilet on the 1st floor had a bidet seat and was very clean. This is a pension we would like to visit again.

This trip was our first in 15 years as a couple. Our previous trip included our children, but now that they are grown and we've finished raising them, it was just the two of us. This time, we planned a journey along the Venus Line and chose this accommodation near Lake Shirakaba. The facility was clean, the staff were very kind, and we enjoyed dinner while overlooking Lake Shirakaba. To our surprise, there was an unexpected event at Lake Shirakaba that amazed us—it was incredibly beautiful and moving. It became a wonderful memory for us. If we still have the energy to travel from Kansai in the future, we would love to visit again. Thank you very much!
