This was my first stay here, and it was a truly comfortable, relaxing, and wonderful hotel. All of the staff were very kind and pleasant as well. The room felt clean and cozy, with a great view. It also had a lanai where I could enjoy coffee and unwind. Above all, the hot spring baths and breakfast were amazing. The hot spring water was excellent, and the breakfast buffet used plenty of local ingredients—it was truly delicious. It really was a fantastic hotel. Thanks to you, I had a fun and memorable trip, and I’m very grateful. Thank you so much. I’d love to visit again.

Every year, our family visits Karuizawa. This was our first stay here, and we truly enjoyed ourselves thanks to the warm, home-like hospitality throughout. The room was cozy and well soundproofed, so we were able to relax at night. We would love to stay again. Thank you for your wonderful service with such a lovely smile.

We were completely satisfied with both the facilities and the meals! On top of the mountain, we noticed a smoky aroma—it turned out to be a campfire. We toasted marshmallows, and inside there was complimentary champagne service. The French cuisine was delicious, and we really enjoyed the wine. We were especially impressed by how tender the main beef dish was. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. One small thing: it would be nice to have power outlets near the bed, and I also wished the mirror area were a bit brighter for easier use. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to stay again.

I stayed here again, as I did last year. This time, I split my stay into two parts: 2 nights and then 3 nights—first on the east side, and the last 3 nights on the west side. The west side is better. I plan to stay here again next year.

First of all, the staff’s respectful sense of distance was wonderful. I couldn’t book dinner at a convenient time, so I only had breakfast, but everything was delicious and I was very satisfied. The Serta bed was also very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well at just the right level, so I slept soundly. The large public bath was clean; although it’s an artificial hot spring, it was very nice. However, as noted in the warnings, the floor is very slippery, so you should be careful. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay here again.

The room was clean and well maintained. It was a bit disappointing that we had to take a bus to the hot springs, but since check-out is at 12:00, we were able to go after breakfast and relax. I didn’t know you could play the golf course at such reasonable rates, so I’d like to use it next time.

We had a wonderful time with our dog. The meals were delicious. The service was excellent. We were able to spend lots of quality time with our dog. We’d love to come again.

We stayed with 4 people and 1 dog. The Room was odor-free, and we barely heard any other dogs, making it very comfortable. It would be nice to have a few more amenities. There was a note about limitations on the bathwater, but it turned out to be fine. Thank you!

Affordable and clean rooms, and the front desk staff were polite and helpful! I’d stay again as long as the trip isn’t centered around the hotel!

We stayed to celebrate our dog’s anniversary trip. The Room was spacious and the garden was lovely, so we had a great time. We ordered an anniversary cake for our dog, but the staff said they failed to thaw it properly and it was mushy, so our dog didn’t eat it… However, they handled the situation appropriately. The disappointing points were that we were looking forward to the 6,600 yen anniversary cake, but it was small and the decoration wasn’t what we expected, so we don’t really recommend the dog cake. Also, there were a lot of weeds in the dog run and we couldn’t use it. Other than that, we were satisfied and had an enjoyable stay. Thank you very much.

The location is surrounded by nothing, but that also means it’s wonderfully quiet, and you can spend a blissful time surrounded by antique furniture. It’s a very distinctive Hotel with an outstanding atmosphere. Since the rooms are fully visible from the Lake Garden promenade, you may hesitate to approach the windows carelessly in light clothing after 9:00 a.m. Dinner is served at an affiliated restaurant in Kyu-Karuizawa, which also features a wonderful classical interior and truly delicious food.

This is our family’s favorite vacation rental. The owner is kind and attentive, and sharing local tips is always a big help. The Room and bathroom are spacious and well maintained, so we can relax and enjoy our stay. Even my elderly mother feels comfortable traveling here, so we stay at Shirakaba Terrace every year in early summer and autumn. We bring our two dogs each time as well; they’re used to it now, spending time freely in the garden dog run and sleeping soundly at night. We’d love to visit again in autumn to see the fall foliage.

We stayed for one night with three dogs to celebrate the New Year, and it turned out to be a highly satisfying experience. Considering the year-end traffic and the cold weather in Karuizawa, we opted for the bullet train this time. After exploring the outlet mall directly connected to the station, we took a taxi for about 11 minutes at a cost of approximately 3,500 yen. Later, we found out that Shuttle Service was available, so checking in advance would make things smoother. The property is very spacious—about half the size of Tokyo Dome by feel—and fully enclosed. It felt like an entire dog park, providing great peace of mind when traveling with pets. Although limited to one group per day, there are three tents available. For two people it feels luxurious; six people might strike a better balance. The dogs were relaxed throughout our stay and enjoyed their freedom without concern for others—a major highlight. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with drinks and used the sauna before dinner. The sauna allowed "löyly" (steam infusion) with around nine types of aroma oils provided. At about 90°C (194°F), it was perfect for working up a good sweat. While there wasn’t a cold plunge pool available, winter’s chilly outdoor air sufficed without inconvenience. The distance from the sauna to showers could be improved slightly; however, having a bonfire area right outside made outdoor relaxation part of its charm—I wish we'd checked in earlier! Dinner was BBQ-style featuring high-quality meats and vegetables along with delicious fish appetizers and soup as starters. A selection of wines including red wine starting at 5,500 yen as well as white wine and champagne were also offered. The BBQ venue had enclosures and heaters ensuring comfort even during colder seasons. The Room felt chilly due to exposure from outside air but came equipped with electric blankets plus heaters making sleeping conditions manageable overall—though stronger or additional heating units would enhance comfort further especially if you're sensitive towards cold temperatures; bringing extra warm clothing is recommended! Morning began again inside saunas followed by breakfast consisting thoughtfully prepared soup alongside Akagi beef shigureni bento boxes which delivered both satisfying portions & flavors alike! Throughout every interaction staff maintained pleasant professionalism striking ideal balance between attentiveness yet respecting privacy leaving lasting positive impressions behind too! Finally returning back via Shuttle Service ensured seamless end-to-end convenience concluding memorable stay altogether! Looking forward revisiting during spring/autumn seasons next time experiencing different scenery/atmosphere altogether anew!

Not only the Room but also the bath area was very clean, making it very pleasant to use. I have stayed here repeatedly, and the staff have always been very helpful, making my trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.

The facilities are new and the amenities are well stocked, and perhaps we were also lucky with the weather, but the open-air bath with a sauna was incredibly relaxing. Although we booked and visited at the last minute the day before, when we mentioned that it was for an anniversary celebration, they surprised us with a warm and thoughtful gesture. The food was excellent as well, and the dinner salad pleasantly exceeded our expectations. The lounge snacks felt a little limited, but there was a great variety of drinks and we enjoyed them. Even though this is a new property, the staff’s service was polished and truly outstanding. After finishing my early-morning run (a hobby of mine) and returning, I found several complimentary bottles of water at just the right temperature along with multiple towels in the reception area—an attention to detail that really impressed me. We also enjoyed hearing about their ongoing efforts to improve things and their plans for future expansion, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

A small Hotel located in Karuizawa Lake New Town, where the owner couple and staff warmly welcomed us. The Hotel features a charming medieval castle-like exterior, with carefully selected interiors, furniture, and tableware that create a delightful atmosphere. The owner couple also runs popular curry restaurants in Tokyo and Karuizawa, and you can enjoy their curry as an optional meal at the Hotel. Both the curry and breakfast were incredibly delicious. Nearby the Hotel, you can find Lake Garden, stylish cafes, grocery shops, and more—perfect for enjoyable strolls. I would love to visit again!

I made a Reservation because this Accommodation was reasonably priced and fairly close for sightseeing in Karuizawa. On arrival, there was welcome coffee from Mikado Coffee, and amenities were provided as well. Please note that pajamas are not provided. The Room was spacious and even had two TVs. I was also happy to find Mikado Coffee drip packs in the Room. A few things stood out: the Room felt a bit dated, I would have preferred newer slippers, and I saw a small ant while taking a bath—so it would be great if there were screens or something similar (it wasn’t so bad that it ruined the stay). That said, the breakfast included was very luxurious and exceeded the price! Since Karuizawa has stylish cafes, I think it would be nice to have a No Meals Included Plan as well. Thank you for your courteous assistance with parking and for contacting me about an item I left behind.

It was my first time staying at the updated Mori no Hanare. It took a little getting used to, but it was just as wonderful as ever. Thank you very much.

I’ve visited Karuizawa many times, but this was my first stay here. Although it faces a main road, we weren’t bothered by traffic noise, and the Facility was clean, so we were able to relax completely. Our dog was smiling the whole time! The only thing I noticed was that the small window near the kitchen didn’t have any curtains or similar covering—blinds would be nice. The location is great as well, so I’d love to stay again!
