I was impressed by the hospitality, the in-house services, the meals, and the breathtaking scenery that looked like a painting wherever I looked. I’m truly glad I chose this Hotel for my first stay in Hakuba. Next time, I’d love to visit this Hotel again during the autumn foliage season.

We stayed as a couple. We had been interested after seeing it on the website and social media, and our stay exceeded expectations—especially the meal at LA VIGNE DINING FÛDO, which left a lasting impression. Being able to savor dining at the Hotel at a relaxed pace made for a truly satisfying experience. The Room and interior spaces were beautifully designed, and we found the scent throughout the property and in the bath amenities very soothing. The bright Room also had a kitchen, which made it feel more like staying in a vacation home than at a Hotel. It was such a wonderful stay that we’d love to return. Highly recommended.

The view from the Room was amazing—we could see the ski jump. It was forecast to rain from that day, but we had a brief spell of sunshine, which made us feel refreshed. There was an Onsen and an open-air bath as well, and it was very soothing. The meals were a real treat for vegetarians. It was a very relaxing one-night stay, and the Room was clean, but it was a bit disappointing that there is a step up to reach the toilet; at night, it felt like something elderly guests could easily trip over. Other than that, it was a Hotel we were fully satisfied with.

It’s been eight years since our last stay, and this was our first visit back in a while. We returned because it’s one of our favorites, but here are a few things we noticed for next time: - We would like one more face towel at the washbasin in the Room, since two of us are staying. - Toiletries such as lotion are provided, but my wife said she would like emulsion/moisturizer as well. - A few dishes tasted quite salty to us—such as the breakfast soup, grilled salmon, and pickles. We had heard that Nagano Prefecture has been reducing salt recently. Despite these comments, this remains our favorite Accommodation thanks to the excellent hospitality of the staff. Thank you for taking care of us. We will visit again.

The lobster was incredibly delicious—I was genuinely surprised. I treated myself a bit by staying here, and many guests seemed to be regulars; the overall atmosphere was wonderful. I also appreciated being able to request Shuttle Service from/to Hakuba Station. This may have been just me missing it, but I would have appreciated it even more if makeup remover had been available in the Room or in the private bath.

Most of the staff are foreigners. The front desk staff speak fluent Japanese, but English is the main language at the adjacent café and restaurant. There wasn’t even a Japanese menu. I think completing online check-in in advance makes things smoother. The service was always friendly with smiles, so I had a comfortable stay. I booked a plan with dinner, and then suddenly received an email from a restaurant reservation site called TableCheck to confirm my dinner Reservation, which surprised me. When I called the Hotel, they said it was fine as it was for the Hotel dinner plan. I didn’t expect it to be a sushi restaurant, so it was a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent. The Room was lovely too, but if you’re expecting a traditional Japanese-style Onsen, you might be disappointed—there’s no open-air bath. It seems most guests are also foreigners, so it felt like being abroad in a good way.

This was a wonderful inn, just as the reviews said. Although the facilities are old, everything felt clean throughout, and it was very comfortable. The baths in particular were so good that they alone made me want to come back. The view of the Hakuba mountain range from the open-air bath was so soothing that I could have stayed there forever. Soaking in the indoor bath fed by natural hot spring water eased my fatigue, and I slept soundly through the night without waking even once. Breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with Japanese, Western, and Chinese options; not only did they cook beef steak and white shrimp tempura right in front of you, but there were also many dishes thoughtfully prepared using healthy local ingredients, which I really appreciated. I was also impressed by how quick-thinking and pleasant all of the hotel staff were. It’s a hotel I definitely want to visit again.

We stayed for one night after trekking to Happo Pond via the Happo Gondola. I had stayed here once about 20 years ago, and I still remembered how pleasant the bath was and how clean the Room felt. This time, I had the same impression. The building has aged, but the Rooms are still clean and the bath is just as relaxing as ever. Dinner may have improved now that all-you-can-drink alcohol is included. As for dinner, there were quite a few items that seemed like frozen foods (such as pasta and fried chicken), but for our eldest daughter—who is a picky eater—the flavors were reliably familiar, and she was happy that she could eat everything (lol). After trekking, being able to take a bath, have a meal, sleep in an air-conditioned Room on freshly washed sheets—and at this price—was extremely satisfying. It may not be ideal for those looking for a stylish highland resort experience.

While Marriott Hotels are often associated with polished service, perhaps because this is not a large-scale Hotel, the hospitality here was friendly and warm, and every staff member we interacted with had a wonderful smile. I’m sorry for the trouble we caused when my son’s Switch wouldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi. They even contacted a service provider to get it connected, and my son was truly grateful. The Room also felt very Hakuba—woody and simple, but exactly my taste. The ReFa shower head in the bath and the amenities were excellent as well. The meals were also incredibly elaborate and detailed; I was especially moved by the appetizer inspired by Hakuba’s scenery. I often can’t finish a full course meal, but this time I was able to enjoy every last bite. In winter, it seems we’ll be able to see a completely different landscape in many ways, so this is an Accommodation I’d love to revisit during ski season.

In conclusion, this Accommodation offered outstanding value for money! I had made separate one-night Reservations for different Rooms, but when availability opened up, I was able to stay in the same Room for two nights. I chose the Deluxe Japanese-style Room, and upgrading was definitely the right decision. The first thing I did after arriving was head straight to the Onsen. The water quality was incredible—silky and pleasantly smooth—and it genuinely felt like it left my skin refreshed. The washing area is spacious, and the indoor bath is more than large enough. The open-air bath is a bit smaller, but the water was so clean and soothing that it didn’t matter at all. I would happily come back just for this Onsen. The meals were also excellent. Although it’s a buffet, it wasn’t the typical “hotel buffet” with mass-produced dishes. Instead, each item felt carefully prepared. There aren’t countless options, but both the taste and quality were more than satisfying. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights, and the initial plated dish (separate from the buffet) featured different ingredients on each day—both were delicious. Some buffet items also changed on day two, so I never felt bored even with dinner twice in a row. The wood-fired pizza was especially good—I ended up eating too much on both days. Honestly, if you ate this dinner every day you’d definitely gain weight (in a good way). It was nothing like an ordinary hotel buffet that simply reheats frozen food. Breakfast was just as good. The view from the Room was amazing as well, which made me even happier that I chose the Deluxe Japanese-style Room. By luck I was on the top floor (5th floor), with a full view of Happo-One Ski Resort—including the ski jump—so it felt fantastic. I honestly think this Accommodation has one of the best vantage points in the area in terms of seeing over the entire resort and how close it feels to the mountains. Switching to two nights in this Deluxe Japanese-style Room was absolutely worth it. If you’re unsure which side to choose, I highly recommend a ski-resort-facing Room. The Accommodation itself may be somewhat older, but there wasn’t a single place where it felt old (or dirty). If anything, it feels very clean throughout. Even my window had been thoroughly cleaned, so I could enjoy their proud ski-resort view through spotless glass. All staff members were kind and welcoming with genuine smiles, which made my stay even better. I would absolutely like to stay here again.

We stayed here for my girlfriend’s birthday. Thank you for the special service! The room was exceptionally clean and beautiful, and we had a truly wonderful day. We would definitely love to stay again if we have the chance!!

We stayed with our dog. The Accommodation was very clean and spacious, and we were able to relax comfortably with our family. The only thing we noticed was that there was no partition wall for the shower, so water splashed out when using it, but everyone in our group, including our family members, was very satisfied. We would like to stay again. *Regarding hospitality and service, everything—including check-in and check-out—was handled remotely, so we had almost no direct interaction with staff.

We stayed at the accommodation on the last day of Obon with my wife, two daughters, and our beloved dog. We have visited many luxury accommodations that allow pets before, but this one is by far the best! The beauty and elegance of the building, the completeness of amenities, cleanliness, and excellent location were all top-notch. The owner was kind and had set up a comfortable temperature throughout the accommodation even before we arrived. Above all, everything was impeccably clean. My wife, daughters, and even our dog were absolutely delighted!

I love the scent of wood when you first enter. The Room felt very clean, the towels were fluffy, and I had a comfortable stay. The weather was great, and the forest view from the large window directly in front of the bed, along with the morning sunlight streaming in, felt wonderful.

The Facility and the bath were both excellent. I will stay here again.

A wonderful accommodation where you can fully enjoy the world of Finn Juhl. You can relax and unwind from daily life no matter where you are in the property. The furniture, which is often difficult to purchase due to its price range, offers a rare opportunity to experience sitting comfortably on such sofas and chairs, placing a wine glass or nuts on the table, and enjoying an extraordinary yet familiar moment. Even for those who are not interested in furniture or unfamiliar with Finn Juhl, this could be an excellent chance to discover the exceptional comfort and design of his creations. The breakfast was delightful with freshly squeezed juice, fresh vegetable salad, warm egg dishes, sausages, and more. (*We used an Onsen outside the facility so we did not use the bath here; hence rated it as "3.") I would love to stay again in a different room during another season. Looking forward to visiting next time!

The Room was clean and comfortable.

We stayed as three families. The spacious and comfortable Room provided enough private space for everyone. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and incredibly stylish! It was such a wonderful place that we definitely want to come back again.

Mid-October 2024 2 nights and 3 days for a couple The building was a renovated traditional house. There were luxurious rooms, and although there were parts we didn't actually use, it was spacious enough to be comfortable. The air conditioning, ventilation, and floor heating were all fully equipped, making it comfortable. The onsen bathroom was very tastefully designed, with windows that could be fully opened, creating a semi-open-air feel, which was pleasant given the season. A rental villa with an onsen in Hakuba is quite rare, isn't it? The amenities, including bathrobes and towels, were well-prepared, and we were very satisfied. There was also a washer-dryer, which I think is great for long stays. There seemed to be a drying room for ski and snowboard gear, making it perfect for skiing at Happo-One. The only downside was the lack of a view, so it would be even better if there were a wooden deck or something to allow access to a shaded terrace during the good seasons, with some maintenance of trees and plants. One major disappointment was that during our stay, before checkout, several men entered the facility using an electronic key. They were not acquaintances, of course. This is something that would never happen at a hotel. Our vehicle was parked in the facility's designated parking lot on the premises, and it seemed they parked right next to it (a domestic SUV with Nagano plates), so it should have been clear that there were guests in the building. The person who unlocked the door seemed to be a real estate-related agent, as they started showing the building while talking. We were preparing to check out, so we were presentable, but we were very surprised when strangers suddenly entered our private area. In a hurry, I explained that we were still staying and about to proceed with the electronic checkout, and asked them to leave. However, in this dangerous world, I became very anxious about how the facility manager was handling the electronic key management. During our stay, we went out several times, so if anything happened, like theft of personal belongings or facility equipment, or damage, it would be a problem. After adhering to the checkout time and completing the electronic checkout, just as we were leaving the parking lot, a maintenance person arrived in a small truck. They might have been the cleaning staff. I still don't know who the person who entered during the time was, and honestly, it's unsettling. We really liked the facility, but it left us with security concerns.

More and more Accommodations that welcome dogs have been appearing in recent years, and I stay at various private rental homes around Japan a few times a year. Among them, JADE GROUP’s Accommodation is outstanding in every way (this was my third stay including other JADE properties). The stylish exterior, interior design, and furnishings; the more-than-generous space and openness; and the spacious bathroom were all clean and made for a very comfortable bath time. I loved the overall simple yet luxurious atmosphere. The kitchen appliances were fully equipped, and having a Dyson vacuum cleaner plus a washer-dryer permanently installed was extremely helpful for someone like me who is a bit particular about cleanliness. With such excellent Facilities, I did wish there were at least basic amenities provided as well. From the large living-room windows, you can enjoy views of mountains and rural scenery. In this quiet setting with complete privacy from others, we were able to relax at our own pace—and it still didn’t feel like enough time—so if possible, I recommend a Multiple Night Stay.
