Although it was a shame that we couldn’t go out for a walk because of the heavy rain during our stay, everything else was wonderful. The dinner in particular was carefully seasoned, vegetable by vegetable, and I was surprised at how delicious every dish was. We chose a Room without a view this time, but next time I’d like to stay in a Room with a great view. Thank you very much.

We stayed in a detached Room with our dog during a long holiday. We came without high expectations, but were pleasantly surprised. We have stayed at various Hotels and so-called luxury Accommodations, but this was one of the very few places where we truly felt they excel at creating generous time and space. We were able to spend our stay feeling deeply fulfilled. The dog run was also more than sufficient—spacious enough that even a large dog had no issues. Both the evening course meal and breakfast were truly wonderful, and we were completely satisfied with the delicious food. If you stay here, I highly recommend trying the meals. The staff’s attentiveness is also excellent, and even if you visit with small children, they will make sure you can enjoy your mealtime with peace of mind. This is one of the few Accommodations that makes us want to return. Next time, in winter...

We stayed at the very end of summer vacation, and everything was wonderful—the meals, the baths, the renovated Room, and the excellent service from all staff. During meals, we often saw how thoughtfully they looked out for our young children, and the front desk staff were also very kind, making our stay truly pleasant. We had almost given up on using the pool because of the rain, but it cleared up on checkout day, so we were able to fully enjoy both the pool and the slide—our kids were thrilled. Thank you as well to the staff member watching over the pool for regularly skimming leaves and sharing helpful information. It was a perfect way to end summer vacation, and our whole family is very satisfied with these great memories. We will definitely visit again. Thank you for a wonderful time!

We stayed here for the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival. The building seems old, but the Room, floors, and Facility are clean. The meals are very delicious. There was plenty of rice, vegetables, and side dishes, and we ended up eating too much at every meal. The Onsen has several types of baths, so you can relax and enjoy it comfortably. We would love to stay here again for the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival next year.

Thank you for taking care of us on our family trip. The building was old, but the bath and the Room were clean, so it didn’t bother us. The parking attendant, the front desk staff, and all other employees were very pleasant, and we were able to stay comfortably. There is no refrigerator in the Room, but there was a shared refrigerator in the washroom area that we could use. Tea was also provided in the hallway. Since we used the bath late at night, it was almost like having it to ourselves and we could relax. The open-air bath was also very nice. Breakfast was mainly Japanese-style, and the rice was especially delicious. We were told it is cooked in a traditional pot, and it even had some crispy browned rice. We also heard that staff draw the water themselves, and it tasted great as well. Our family has been saying we’d love to come again.

The Room was clean and uncluttered, with nothing unnecessary. The essentials were more than enough. Since the bath water can get very hot, there were clear and detailed instructions on the door and inside the bathroom, which made everything easy to understand. The shower pressure was strong and great as well. I can’t sleep without my own pillow, so I brought mine—and I slept very well! I’d love to stay here again when I travel to Niigata Prefecture.

They serve truly serious cuisine! You can feel the chef’s dedication, and it’s genuinely delicious! Even the standard course included this much!

We stayed as two couples, my husband and I, along with my sister and her husband. The accommodation provided shuttle service to the nearest station, and the staff's hospitality was excellent. The meals were outstanding; the rice from Uonuma was so delicious that both the porridge at dinner and breakfast the next day left us thinking we had never tasted such amazing rice before. If I had to mention one minor disappointment, it would be that the beef steak served at dinner was cold. However, all other dishes—appetizers, wild boar dish, sashimi—were absolutely delightful. As a parting gift, they gave us souvenirs which included a photo taken during our meal from the previous day—a wonderful keepsake of our stay. Thank you very much!

I love Onsen and have stayed at many Accommodations across the whole country, including luxury Ryokan, but Koguriyama Sanso stands out for its deeply satisfying meals, the best Onsen where you can always soak in peace and relaxation, the wonderful view from the window, and the quiet, luxurious time surrounded by nature—along with the hostess’s bright and welcoming personality. It is a memorable place I want to visit again even if it’s far away. Whether you’re traveling solo, with family, or in a group, I highly recommend this Accommodation for warmly welcoming everyone.

At first, based on the photos and such, I didn’t come with very high expectations… but they had prepared a very spacious Japanese-Western style Room for us. On the table there were small, adorable rice balls… I really appreciated the thoughtful touch. As expected from Uonuma, Japan’s top rice region. Both at dinner and breakfast, the service was so kind and gentle. Not only was the rice excellent and the meals delicious, but thanks to the hospitality we enjoyed everything even more. The Onsen water felt wonderful, and by the next morning my skin was silky smooth. It also felt like everything was kept very clean. The open-air bath is small, but since it’s on the rooftop, the night view was beautiful. Inside the building there were various nostalgic items on display—it brought back memories, sparked lots of conversation, and we ended up getting totally absorbed in playing games too. As we left our Room and waited for the elevator, a staff member who had been cleaning nearby went out of their way to say politely, “Thank you very much—please take care,” bowing deeply as they saw us off. All of the staff greeted us with warm smiles, and we truly had a comfortable stay. These days many places employ overseas staff with whom communication can be difficult at times, but here everyone was courteous and kind—it made me genuinely happy. This has become an Accommodation I would definitely love to visit again. The building itself feels old-fashioned with its age showing somewhat, but it is carefully cleaned—once you visit, it isn’t an issue at all. One more thing—this was my own carelessness—but I slightly cut my finger on an inner edge of the towel rack. It may be good for families with children or elderly guests to take a little extra care. Thank you very much.

The Onsen accommodation was excellent except for the outdoor bath having a cover and the volume of breakfast. The heartfelt cuisine, in particular, was truly impressive.

Stayed for one night from a weekday to the day before a holiday. Both the building and the Room had a classic feel, but it was comfortable. Above all, the rice at breakfast was delicious. I ate various meals after this as well, but this was the best. The aroma and moisture level were perfect.

This was my third stay at this Accommodation. Last time I had breakfast only and it was delicious, so this time I chose a Plan with both dinner and breakfast. Everything was seasoned just the way I like, and I really enjoyed it. There were so many dishes and such generous portions that it was more than I could finish.\n\nThe bath was quite hot, but very relaxing. Perhaps because it was a weekday and there were few guests, it felt almost private and I could soak at ease.\n\nI would love to stay again.
