This was my second stay. I visited with my parents, the three of us. The bath is on the small side, but the Onsen water quality is excellent—personally, I think it’s far better than most Onsen. Meals were the highlight for me, and the cuisine here is outstanding, on par with kaiseki in Tokyo. With plenty of seasonal ingredients, everything tastes wonderful and you can truly enjoy each dish. It was a very relaxing one-night, two-day stay.

Not only the building itself, but also the hanging scrolls and other details in the Room were wonderful, allowing us to spend a relaxing time while appreciating art and culture. As we stayed on a weekday, I mentioned at check-in that I was interested in the building, and the Accommodation staff kindly showed us several of Meijikan’s highlight Rooms. My parents and I were very satisfied. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. The in-room dining was also excellent, including freshly cooked white rice prepared right in front of us and abalone with a tender bite. We will visit again.

The hot spring water is simply outstanding. Meeting the friendly and kind proprietress is also one of the highlights. I’ll be back again later this year. Thank you for everything!

I had visited before for a day trip, but this was my first overnight stay, fully expecting peak Obon pricing. Since it’s an Onsen Ryokan, I assumed the guest rooms would be Japanese-style, but unlike the shared areas with samurai armor and other traditional touches, my Room was a stylish and relaxing Western-style space. I also appreciated the in-room coffee machine service. Above all, the baths were outstanding. The alkaline water left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth. There were three beautiful private baths, and after 9:00 p.m. they could be used freely without a Reservation. Perhaps because many families with children were staying, it was quiet late at night—so I tried them all. Including the large public bath, every bath was at just the right temperature; no matter how many times I soaked, I never felt overheated or unwell, and I truly enjoyed Onsen to the fullest. There are several Accommodation options in Nakagawa Onsen, but when it comes to bath management—including temperature control and cleanliness—I feel an Onsen Ryokan is still the best. We also enjoyed table tennis, and even after checkout they kindly let us use the large public bath area as a place to change after playing in the river. They were also very flexible and extremely kind regarding Shuttle Service arrangements and other requests. Thank you very much.

Although the weather in Hakone was unsettled, we had a wonderful stay as always. From our scenic Room, the drifting clouds and mist felt truly magical. The meals were carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious. Breakfast was also excellent, and we enjoyed an elegant morning while sipping a mimosa. In a relaxing and refined setting, we received excellent service and had a great stay. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Although we only stayed for just under six hours on a day trip this time, it was a soothing space where we could relax and feel refreshed after a long time. The full-course kaiseki dinner was beautifully presented with a seasonal touch and was absolutely delicious. Next time, we would definitely like to return for an overnight stay.

We stayed here to celebrate my aunt’s 91st birthday. Just as the Reviews said, not only was the staff’s hospitality outstanding, but every Facility and service was truly top-class. For my aunt, who has difficulty walking, the barrier-free interior made it very comfortable. During our 2-night, 3-day stay, we didn’t step outside the Hotel even once—we simply relaxed and took it easy inside—and both my aunt and I were extremely satisfied. It was a wonderful Hotel that made us want to come back and also recommend it to friends. Thank you very much to all the staff!

I was able to relax both mentally and physically. The Room was spacious, and the open-air bath was very pleasant. I felt that a bit more consideration for privacy from outside views would have been nice. Most of the staff were foreigners, but their service was very polite and excellent. Both dinner and breakfast included plenty of vegetables and were gentle on the body. I look forward to staying again.

The Room had a private Onsen with an amazing view, and being able to soak in it again and again was truly soothing. My wife and I also had a wonderful time together. Thank you very much for your courteous, kind service, including the teppanyaki dishes we ordered additionally. Reservations are rarely available, but if possible, we would love to stay at this Accommodation again.

My monthly staycation is usually at a Hotel in my local Minato Mirai area, but this time I went a bit farther to Hotel Indigo Gora. I drove there alone, and the winding mountain roads in Hakone were a little tiring. I arrived before check-in and planned to relax at the footbath, but as soon as I parked in the outdoor lot in front of the Hotel, a staff member came right away and helped with my luggage. The welcome drink and Umaibo snack were a nice touch, and being able to check in comfortably while seated is one of those pleasures you expect from a Hotel of this class. When I entered my Room with the staff’s guidance, I couldn’t help saying, “Beautiful!” out loud. It’s a compact Hotel with around 100 rooms, but the Japanese-modern design—combining a raised tatami area with beds—was truly charming. I usually prefer modern Hotels, but this stay reminded me how calming and appealing Japanese-modern style can be. For dinner, I ordered à la carte at the on-site restaurant. The shrimp, scallops, and abalone in the bouillabaisse were surprisingly tender; the burrata was rich and paired perfectly with tomato and basil. The white wine went down easily. Since I don’t eat much, I also appreciated having à la carte options instead of only set courses. The bath in my Room was spacious, and I was able to fully enjoy the Onsen at leisure. The breakfast buffet also impressed me in both variety and quality—especially the green beans dressed with sesame sauce, which tasted far better than anything I could make at home. Even as someone who eats lightly (and can be picky), it was more than satisfying. The hospitality from everyone on staff was excellent, and the entire property was beautiful and comfortable. It was a wonderful Hotel that made me want to return again.

If we have another chance, my husband and I would love to try the French cuisine next time. However, we were disappointed that the toilet in our Room did not flush well. Thank you very much.

This was my third stay. It was my first time visiting in summer, and the lush greenery outside the window was very soothing. There are many international staff members, but everyone works hard and it never feels out of place. This time, I ordered cake and coffee to go from the café lounge, and I really appreciated how a Japanese staff member carefully packed the cup in the cake box so it wouldn’t tip over—such thoughtful attention to detail. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

This time, you kindly arranged a special riverside Room (Japanese-style), and I found it very soothing to be surrounded by the sound of the stream and the forest. The Room also had a private Onsen bath, which made my stay extremely comfortable. I was also very satisfied with the scenic view of the stream from the open-air bath, along with the forest and the evening cicadas—it was truly atmospheric. The quality of the Onsen was excellent as well, and I was very pleased. As the building is a designated tangible cultural property, it felt like stepping back into Japan’s Taisho era. Although it is old, it is kept very clean, and I had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

I stayed in the Moon Room on a solo trip. Due to various circumstances, I made a Reservation after 5:00 PM on the day of arrival, and with the same-day discount it was a great deal. Since my expected arrival time was set for 10:00 PM, the Accommodation contacted me, and their warm and kind response raised my expectations. I arrived just before the welcome drink service ended. Soaking in the iconic footbath, I enjoyed sparkling wine poured generously. The Room was more than spacious enough for one person, and although I initially thought the Onsen on the terrace might be small from the photos, it was also plenty for one. It’s a circulated bath from Kiga Onsen, but for someone like me who prefers hotter water, it was just right—and it warmed me up so much that I started sweating. The door from the Room to the terrace is accordion-style, so after daybreak I left it fully open all morning—it felt wonderful. The open-air bath at the large public bath uses free-flowing spring water from Owakudani. As someone who likes Kusatsu and Manza, I felt the sulfur scent was mild, but I still really enjoyed the milky-white water. However, it was unpleasant to have long hairs and fallen leaves cling to my body. In addition to the powder corner in the large public bath area, there is also a separate powder room with a ReFa hair dryer, a Panasonic hair iron, and a Panasonic facial steamer. Since I had been considering buying them anyway, it was great to be able to try them out. (For reference, the hair dryers in the large public bath were Dyson.) There were many negative Reviews online so I felt nervous until actually staying here, but it turned out to be a very satisfying stay. I’m also interested in one of their higher-category detached Rooms (annex), so I’d love to visit again.

This was our first stay. The train-view Room delighted our children. The open-air bath was also great. We had high expectations for the buffet, and it was excellent. The selection was well balanced—not too much or too little—so we could enjoy a bit of everything. While planning this one-night trip, we researched various Hotels, and choosing this Hotel close to the station was absolutely the right decision. After checkout, we went to Owakudani and Lake Ashi. Since we left at 9:00, the first cable car was nearly empty, and we had the ropeway all to ourselves as a family. They also stored our large luggage for us, so we could sightsee comfortably with light bags. For Hakone Free Pass users, I think this is one of the best Hotels. One small suggestion: after the kids fell asleep, it would have been nice to have a small table lamp to make the Room a bit brighter. It turned into a very enjoyable trip. We would love to stay again.

Twice a year, our family treats ourselves to a slightly luxurious trip. This time it was just the two of us, and considering the location and the Room, the price felt surprisingly reasonable—so I was a bit worried. Still, we decided to stay at Kajikaso because of its great location near the shopping street.\n\nUntil we arrived by car and were waiting to check in at the Hotel, I honestly thought we might have made the wrong choice. But after check-in, everything changed: a spacious, bright Room; a garden open-air bath with perfectly heated water flowing continuously; very comfortable beds; and even two TVs. The large public bath was impressive—big enough to swim in—and the temperature was just right.\n\nDinner was excellent, especially the appetizers and sashimi. Drinks ordered via tablet were delivered quickly, and chatting with the staff was truly soothing. We also enjoyed the karaoke room and breakfast—everything was wonderful.\n\nMy husband especially loved the complimentary beer server in our Room.\n\nThank you very much for taking such great care of us!

We chose the Surprise Plan for a celebration, and the communication was very courteous. The Room and open-air bath were spacious, relaxing, and very clean. We were also happy to have plenty of free drinks. We chose the wagyu course, and everything was delicious. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with them as well. Being able to adjust the open-air bath ourselves meant we could always soak at just the right temperature, which was a great feature. Breakfast was also excellent. We felt refreshed in both body and mind, the surprise was a success, and we’re truly glad we chose this place. We’d love to stay in one of the other Rooms too!

This was an Accommodation I was very satisfied with. The private bath and the in-room bath were especially wonderful, and I was able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. Overall, I felt it offered great value for the price. For breakfast, rice, miso soup, raw egg, and natto are available for unlimited refills, but the initial serving was already generous enough that refills weren’t necessary—I was very satisfied. For dinner, you can choose from two course options; however, at check-in on the first day, the sushi & shabu-shabu course was fully booked. Even so, both courses were excellent in both quality and portion size, and everything was delicious. The amenities were also well stocked, and I appreciated the snack service as well as the wide selection of yukata provided. There were complimentary ice cream and coffee services along with late-night soba throughout my stay, which made me feel how extensive the services were. The late-night soba was also very tasty. If I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be dinner service. Sometimes water or tea was provided at the start and sometimes it wasn’t; also, there were times when drinks weren’t refilled unless we asked. That point stood out slightly, but aside from that I was extremely satisfied overall and would definitely like to stay again.

I chose this because I expected to arrive after 6:00 PM due to other commitments, and it was great! Since it’s part of a resort condominium, the renovated Room was spacious and had a wonderful view with lots of greenery. Dinner and breakfast are prepared in the refrigerator, so you can heat them up with the IH cooktop or microwave and eat whenever you like. Bringing your own food is allowed, so I enjoyed dinner with sashimi and my favorite drinks! The Onsen was at a comfortable temperature, though it felt a bit small. There is no open-air bath, but even the indoor bath has a great view. The staff interaction was minimal as needed, but their smiles were nice. Recommended for experienced travelers!

One person had to be a No Show at the last minute, but they calculated the Hot Spring Tax only for the number of guests who stayed, which was very kind. An overseas staff member assisted us at the front desk, and their language, guidance, and service were excellent—I was truly impressed. The Room was also divided into two separate areas inside, each with its own door, which solved my husband’s snoring issue. There was a large public bath and a microwave as well, which was convenient. It was a bit disappointing that the parking lot can fit only four cars when parked tightly, and that the futons were thin. I think it would be even better if thicker mattresses were introduced. That said, the hospitality was truly outstanding; I work in customer service too, and it made me want to learn from them. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us during our stay.
