We stayed in the condominium for two nights. I had seen many posts mentioning a musty smell, so I was a bit concerned, but the room was spacious. Since it’s in the mountains of Karuizawa and tends to be humid, there was a slight musty odor; however, the air conditioner has an air purifier function, and once we turned it on, it wasn’t an issue at all. I felt it was an amazing deal for this price. That said, my mother has difficulty walking, and there were many stairs and some areas without handrails, which made things challenging for her. The hot spring costs extra, but there was a shower chair available in the bath area. It isn’t very large, but we’ve visited several times on day trips before as well, and it was just as good as always. As for meals, they brought everything out quickly after we sat down. At dinner, each dish was served one by one so we could enjoy everything warm. The staff who served us were from overseas, but they were extremely polite and made dining very comfortable. I couldn’t confirm her name, but one female staff member in particular was very considerate and helped make our stay especially pleasant. Many guests also brought their dogs along, so it was fun seeing different dogs around the property. We would definitely like to come again. If I had one request only: having more handrails would be great.

This was my first stay, and I booked a Multiple Night Stay for two nights. The toilet is not equipped with a washlet, and the facilities feel old. My Room faced the Ueda Station rotary (on the 6th floor), but voices outside echoed so loudly it felt like the window was open. (As is common in regional cities, young people tend to hang around late at night.) That said, while I have several complaints, the staff are outstanding. Everyone was very pleasant and kind, more than making up for the drawbacks. The Accommodation Fee is also low. The front desk is on the 2nd floor, and there is a good izakaya on B1 as well. Overall, I think it’s a Hotel with excellent value for money.

Since around February this year, I’ve stayed here whenever I visit Kita-Karuizawa for work, and I’ve already returned for more than 10 nights. It’s a long-loved pension, so the building shows its age, but it’s kept very clean. Surrounded by beautiful trees, it feels like an especially perfect location in the coming season. The biggest highlight is the food. Even after staying many times, I can’t recall ever being served the same menu. The owner couple seem to thoughtfully create new dishes each time for repeat guests like me, and I truly appreciate their care. Not only do I look forward to every meal, but chatting with them after dinner has also become a wonderful travel memory. It’s located in Tsumagoi Village, but if you’re traveling to Karuizawa or Kusatsu Onsen, I highly recommend going a little further and staying at Motown. A pension I can wholeheartedly recommend!

Stayed in mid-January. Thank you for the thoughtful amenities such as rice, sparkling water, eggs, coffee, and seasonings. As mentioned in some reviews, the sauna temperature felt a bit lacking. It might have been due to the winter season, but it was slightly disappointing. Additionally, the mirroring function on the projector didn’t work well—possibly due to poor Wi-Fi connection. However, the room, kitchen, and location were excellent! I would love to stay again.

We stayed as a couple with our Pomeranian and were warmly welcomed by the owner. The meals were delicious with plenty of vegetables, and breakfast was very filling with freshly baked bread and unlimited coffee refills. The private family bath was spacious and very relaxing. Our dog also enjoyed the Room, meals, and the dog run to the fullest, and felt completely at ease being able to stay together with us at all times. They kindly accommodated changes to our breakfast time as well, so we were able to fully enjoy watching soccer in Sugadaira. Time passed peacefully, and we had a wonderful Silver Week holiday. Thank you very much.

Stayed with a group of 8 friends. The property is well-maintained and very clean. The sauna, barbecue area, bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, balcony, and other facilities were excellent. Although we didn’t use it, the front-load washing machine seemed very convenient. Tsuruya Miyota store is nearby for easy BBQ ingredient shopping, and the famous soba restaurant "Jigonoya" is within walking distance. BBQ equipment and tableware are well-stocked—truly impressed by the quality of this rental villa. I’d love to visit again with my family next time. One suggestion: it would be even better if the parking space could accommodate 3–4 cars.

Thanks to the very detailed videos provided in advance on directions and how to open and close the door, we arrived and checked in smoothly. The building was even more spacious and open than we expected, and it was a clean, pleasant space. We could also feel the owner’s sense of style throughout, which made our stay very comfortable. In particular, the views from the living room and bathroom were breathtaking. The consent form with detailed house rules clearly reflected the intention to have only guests who will respect good manners use the property, which also gave us peace of mind. One small thing we noticed was that we couldn’t find cooking utensils such as chopsticks for cooking, a ladle, or a spatula. *We may have simply overlooked them. Although it’s located in a quiet forest setting, it’s also very convenient—just a short drive downhill brings you close to a large supermarket. We’d love to stay again if we have the chance.

It was quiet, and the staff were kind. The place was well cleaned and very tidy. Buying groceries as a family and enjoying a meal in a different living room than usual was fun. What concerned me was that the washing machine lid seemed to have poor contact, so it wouldn’t go through to the spin cycle, and the living room air conditioner remote had dead batteries.

I chose this Accommodation because I was very interested in the open-air bath accessed by the mountain railway. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up using it three times during my stay. Since it was Monday right after the holiday period, it was very quiet, which was great. The Facility has the charm of a classic Onsen Accommodation, and the guest rooms have been beautifully renovated, making it extremely relaxing. I would love to stay again.

I visited “Haretara Iine” on a friend’s recommendation. It had a warm, homey atmosphere, and the owner and staff were cheerful and friendly, taking the time to speak with each guest. The meals were excellent, with plenty of local vegetables—beautifully presented and delicious. The bath was spacious as well, and it really helped me relax. Thank you very much.

It felt like an Accommodation focused on visiting nearby public baths, and the staff were very kind, which left a great impression. The canned beer and highballs available for purchase at the front desk were also reasonably priced. That said, a few things stood out: - I assume the Onsen is naturally low-temperature, but the open-air bath felt lukewarm. Since it was midsummer, I apologize if that temperature was intentional. - The Room with a private open-air bath was spacious and wonderful, but there was no wash bucket or chair for the bath, no sugar or milk/creamer for coffee, and no glass beer tumbler. It was a bit inconvenient. - The Wi-Fi only worked near the Room entrance. What impressed me most this time was the live performance by volunteers after dinner. From a large song list, they played our requested songs on saxophone, piano, and percussion—it was truly excellent and very moving.

The Facility is new, and the shower rooms were assigned by Room number and had locks, so it was very comfortable. However, one disappointing point was that there were two spots of dog poop in the dog run—probably left by a previous guest—and they were fairly large, so I wish more attention had been paid during cleaning. Also, since we are paying an accommodation fee, I think satisfaction would increase if items like diaper wraps (belly bands) and treats were provided. Also, when it rains you get wet walking from the Room to the tarp area, so I would be happy if there were a covered section along the way as well. In particular, it would be better if there were a roof at the entrance. I’ve written what I noticed, but overall the staff were pleasant, and it’s an Accommodation I’d like to stay at again. Thank you very much.

The baths are simply excellent. The Rooms and building are somewhat old overall, but the baths are truly wonderful. The meals aren’t flashy, but they taste good and come in satisfying portions, so we were pleased overall. We were able to set off fireworks in the parking area a short distance away, and the kids seemed to really enjoy it.

I stayed one night in Ueda while traveling from Tokyo to Kanazawa. It looks far more stylish than in the photos. I expected a renovated Hotel in an older building, but I was impressed from the moment I stepped into the front desk area, and I also loved the calm atmosphere of the Room. On top of that, the large public bath and sauna were truly outstanding. Every item at the attached bakery looked delicious, and quite a few people came just to buy bread. This is a highly satisfying Hotel that makes you want to stop by Ueda whenever you visit the Nagano area. Because I hope it continues to become an even better Hotel, my only request is this: while I was happy with the breakfast bread selection at the restaurant, I’d like to see a bit more effort put into both the dinner menu and some of the finer details.

Set in a quiet forest, it was wonderful to be able to enjoy a truly out-of-the-ordinary stay. The café that also serves as the management office was incredibly stylish—absolutely amazing. Next time, I’d love to try the spinach curry at the café! When I mentioned we were going to Ueda Castle the next day, you shared lots of helpful information, and we were able to see the moat at Ueda High School as well. Thank you very much. We’ll be back. We did not use the bath.

I visited specifically because I wanted to stay here, and it exceeded my expectations! I’d love for many people to experience this place, so although I don’t usually write reviews, this is my first time. The owner is a truly kind and gentle gentleman; the room was extremely clean, breakfast was delicious, and the whole stay felt very comfortable. Since it’s a historic building, I imagine cleaning must be difficult—but it was spotless. (Even if you ran your finger along surfaces like a strict mother-in-law, I don’t think you’d find any dust!) There’s even an old-style holding room built to protect valuables—I went inside and took photos! The other rooms also have such a wonderful atmosphere. The bath has separate hot and cold taps, so adjusting the temperature “like a DJ” might take a little effort. The toilet also has one lever to fill the tank and another to flush—an extra step, but part of the charm. I didn’t find it inconvenient at all! I usually have trouble sleeping when traveling, but the futon was fluffy and smelled lovely, so I slept soundly. The breakfast made by the owner was also beautiful and delicious—I enjoyed it in such an elegant way and was completely satisfied! I absolutely want to come back and stay again!

I stayed with five friends and family members. It was an excellent accommodation with a sauna included.

I stayed on the first floor of the annex. It was reasonably priced, and I had no particular complaints. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

Now that our kids have grown up and no longer spend their summer vacation tied up with sports clubs and team activities, three families were able to get together for the first time in eight years. Considering the extreme heat and our age, we gave up on tent camping and chose an easy, comfortable stay in a lodge. Since it looked like it might rain, the Accommodation staff secured a BBQ area for us in advance, and we really appreciated how they also accommodated a sudden increase in our group size. We were also grateful that we could dispose of the BBQ trash. The bath water is brownish with an iron scent. It warms you up wonderfully. Maybe thanks to the Onsen, my makeup went on better the next morning. It would have been even better if bathing hours were available until 11:00 p.m. The three horses were friendly and adorable. When we petted them around the neck, they leaned into us, which made them even more lovable. The staff were very kind, and we had a great trip.
