This was our first stay as a family trip. The meals, the baths, and the hospitality were all extremely satisfying. Every dish was made with local ingredients, and the seasoning brought out the natural flavors—exactly to our taste. We also enjoyed relaxing in the log-cabin-style restaurant while looking out at the garden. We used only the open-air bath. Even though it was raining, the water temperature was just right and helped us unwind. *Since it’s completely outdoors, those who dislike insects may want to avoid it in summer—they do fly around. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us. I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful. Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen. The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable. Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation. With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely. Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy. My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. It was a wonderful stay, exactly as we had hoped. The Room was very clean, every dish at both dinner and breakfast was delicious, and the private Onsen was fantastic—we were completely satisfied. Some oil from the stone-grilled Tochigi Wagyu accidentally splashed onto my skirt, but when I asked for advice, they kindly prepared a tray with mild detergent and towels and explained how to care for it properly. It was a huge help—thank you. If I had one small request, it would be nice to have simple snacks such as nuts when enjoying drinks in the lounge (a Ryokan we stayed at in Nagano recently offered this, so that may be why I noticed), but we truly appreciate being able to enjoy complimentary drinks. A highly recommended Ryokan.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused regarding our arrival and meals, and we truly appreciate your kind and flexible support. Thanks to you, we were able to relax at ease. Although we arrived exhausted, we were able to refresh properly. We would love to stay with you again.

Above all, the Onsen is wonderful. Fresh spring water flows continuously straight from the source. It has a faint sulfur scent and is a clear, silky-smooth Onsen. For the price, the Room is spacious and even comes with a private indoor bath. Of course, yukata, bath towels, and even brand-new face towels are provided. Breakfast and soft drinks are free! There are also two large private baths available for exclusive use. It’s rare to find an Accommodation that offers this much at such a reasonable price. At check-out, we were even given bottled soft drinks to take with us. An outstanding Accommodation that’s easy to visit anytime.

Above all, the milky-white free-flowing Onsen from the source was outstanding, and soaking at a leisurely pace felt truly luxurious. We stayed as a couple with our 0-year-old baby. From check-in, they took a photo of the three of us and provided toys for our child. At dinner, our child got sleepy, and when we asked for a floor cushion, they kindly brought one right away. During the koto performance, they even played children’s songs, and our daughter seemed to really enjoy it. Traveling with a child can be challenging from the very start when choosing an Accommodation, but everyone was truly kind to us. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

I stayed here on a solo trip. It is a small Accommodation, but every detail is thoughtfully cared for, and I had a very comfortable stay. Ikebana arrangements were displayed throughout wherever my eyes fell, and I could really feel the Accommodation’s hospitality. The meals—especially the vegetables—were delicious, and since they were served in my Room, I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I left the Accommodation sincerely thinking, “I want to stay here again!” Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful Accommodation where we could relax in peace, like staying at a private villa with only two Rooms. The chef’s cuisine was truly delicious—everything handmade with creative touches using local ingredients, beautifully presented and easy to enjoy. We were completely satisfied and enjoyed every dish. The staff also shared lots of great recommendations in Nasu, including tasty bakeries, drinks, and sightseeing spots, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. There was an alcoholic drink made with Tochiotome strawberries—I've forgotten the name, but I’d like to look for it next time I visit Nasu.

We visited as a couple with our preschool-aged child and small dog. We’ve stayed at about ten dog-friendly Accommodations so far, but this was the most satisfying trip we’ve ever had! You were kind to both our child and our dog, and it became more than just a place to stay—it became part of our wonderful travel memories. Our child is a very picky eater, and we always struggle with meals while traveling, but you listened to our requests and specially prepared a menu for us. We were truly touched—both sorry for the trouble and deeply grateful. It helped us so much. The dog run also had soft, fluffy grass, and our dog happily ran around every day. It made us want to live in Nasu. Highly recommended Accommodation! Thank you very much!!

Everything was thoughtfully prepared and truly delicious; the foie gras, in particular, was cooked in a way I’d never experienced before and was astonishingly good. The ayu was also expertly prepared and delicious, but I got too full to finish it all the way to the head, which was a shame. Next time, I’d like to come with a bigger appetite and take on the challenge.

The kindness of the staff, the comfort of the Room, and the truly delicious cuisine—everything was as wonderful as always. It has been three years since reopening, and I was heartbroken to hear the sad news that it will close in November. I am truly disappointed and at a loss for words. It was a superb auberge. I will visit again before it closes.

I stayed here on a solo trip as a treat for myself. From the moment I arrived, I was comforted by the staff’s warm and attentive hospitality. The meals were packed with fresh vegetables, with generous portions—I was completely satisfied. On top of that, the all-you-can-drink option, pre-dinner snacks, and dessert service made it a truly pampering stay. I was so full after dinner that I unfortunately couldn’t eat dessert, but next time I’d like to plan my appetite better so I can enjoy it. Even when we drove past the Hotel on our way out, the staff waved to me with big smiles, and it left me feeling warmly happy—almost to tears. Next time I’ll come with my family. We stayed as a three-generation family of six. Since it was the Obon holiday period, we expected crowds everywhere, but unlike a Hotel, it was much quieter than we imagined and we were able to relax and enjoy a truly wonderful time. The interior has high ceilings and feels very open, and it was spacious enough for six adults to stay comfortably. Because of the typhoon, it got so chilly at night that we turned on the heater, but the air conditioning worked well and kept us comfortable. The Onsen was also delightful, and the beautiful greenery visible from the window was very soothing. This time we ate out for dinner, but next time we’d like to use the hot plate and enjoy cooking together indoors. (One of us doesn’t like insects, so we’re glad we didn’t do a terrace BBQ. There were no bugs inside.) We also really appreciated having a washing machine (with dryer function) and detergent provided—it was extremely helpful when we suddenly needed to do laundry. Our parents were very happy as well and are already saying they want to come again, so we would love to visit again. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!!

We visited with great anticipation, having heard this Accommodation has a 150-year history. From the warm welcome at arrival, everyone greeted us with smiles, and our expectations immediately rose. We were escorted to our Room by a staff member, and the attentive service was remarkably detailed—something rare these days. The building has been beautifully renovated. Relaxing in the lounge surrounded by nature while looking out over the clear stream of the Hoki River was wonderful, and our conversations flowed easily. The facilities and our Room were spacious and spotless, and the gentle scent of incense was delightful. Every staff member we passed had a soothing smile. Dinner was carefully prepared, and the thoughtfully chosen tableware made it feel even more delicious. My mother and aunt—both very particular about food—praised it highly as well; we were truly impressed by the flavors of the ingredients themselves. The semi-open-air bath in our Room and the public baths felt silky soft on the skin, so we enjoyed them again and again. It seemed to promote perspiration; we warmed up from deep within, and all fatigue melted away. There were also table tennis, massages, and more available to enjoy—the service is thorough in every way. We also heard that for a Multiple Night Stay, different dishes are served each day. After dinner, we took a walk along the Hoki River and saw fireflies drifting through an enchanting scene—it felt magical. This became an unforgettable memory of this Accommodation. On the drive home we were already saying, “Let’s come back for a Multiple Night Stay in another season.” At a time when many places are simplifying their services, we are truly grateful to have found such a wonderful Accommodation with such attentive hospitality. We will recommend it to friends and acquaintances as well. Thank you very much.

Last year, I invited some friends and stayed here, and this year we were able to visit again around the same time because they really wanted to come back. I have visited several times for family events, and we were welcomed with the same warm smiles as always. The delicious, heartfelt meals, the well-kept and comfortable Room, and the bath that felt truly refreshing made for a wonderful stay. It’s already on our schedule for next year too—we’re looking forward to it. Thank you very much.

We were surprised to be served a welcome drink at check-in and to complete the procedures on the sofa, but both the Room and the food were incredibly stylish and amazing. There was no TV, which really made it feel like an escape from everyday life, and we thought that was part of what made it such a special space. From the moment we walked in, I feel like we said “Wow” about 20 times. We’d definitely love to come back again.

I stayed for two nights starting July 22. This time, my Room faced the Nasu mountain range, so the view was wonderful. The meals were delicious again. Since this was my second stay in July, you kindly changed the menu for me. Next time, I’ll visit with my children and their family.

I stayed solo and booked the “Tochigi Beef Sirloin Steak Course.” [Entrance & Lobby] It seems to have been renovated, with a bright and stylish atmosphere. [Front Desk] The staff provided clear, courteous explanations, and check-in was smooth. [Room] Spacious and comfortable. The futon was already laid out, which was great because I could lie down right after arriving. Since my Room was on the 5th floor, the view from the window felt open and refreshing. However, there was no bath in the Room, so I couldn’t wash and hang my rainwear after hiking, which was a bit disappointing. [Baths] The service allowing 30 minutes free use of a private open-air bath was excellent. The large public bath feels a bit dated but has a pleasant atmosphere. Note that there is no outdoor bath. [Meals] Dinner service was timely, and the staff were attentive. The menu said “ochazuke or soba,” but plain rice was also available. The Tochigi beef sirloin was tender and very delicious. Salt, wasabi, ponzu sauce, and other condiments were provided so I could enjoy different flavors. I was also happy they had my favorite sake, “Houou Biden.” For breakfast, I appreciated that it wasn’t a typical buffet but served in a kaiseki style. After checkout I realized I had left a shirt in my Room; when I contacted them, they shipped it to me cash on delivery the next day. Their quick response really helped—thank you very much. Overall, this is a highly satisfying Hotel that I can confidently recommend.

Due to an issue with the Room (air conditioning?), they prepared an alternative Room for us. The staff were courteous and responded quickly. The building is a bit old, but the Room was clean and the bath was spacious. Since there aren’t many Rooms, we didn’t have to wait by the elevator, and breakfast was prepared smoothly as well. I stay at various Hotels when traveling, and what I appreciate most is being able to rest comfortably and peacefully—so in that sense, I think this Hotel is the best. The parking lot is behind the Hotel (very close), but it may be confusing at first, so it’s reassuring to check with the front desk in advance.
