We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us. I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful. Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen. The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable. Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation. With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely. Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy. My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. I first stayed here last November and gave it a perfect score, and this time as well—it’s another perfect score. Above all, the Onsen (milky white sulfur spring) is outstanding. You’ll want to soak again and again. The men’s bath is compact with three washing stations, so it may feel a bit crowded when the Hotel is fully booked, but even so, it has a charm that makes you want to come back. Dinner and breakfast were also excellent—no complaints at all. There is a menu provided, but considering the price, it’s reasonable that the meal is set out on the table from the start. Try to be seated early if possible. The front desk staff and serving staff are very dog-friendly and wonderful. This time I used a Japanese-style Room, and they had prepared simple square mats so dogs wouldn’t slip on the wooden floor area; their thoughtful consideration—making them available as needed—was truly impressive. If I had one request for improvement: the wooden gate at the entrance to the outdoor dog run was partially rotted and starting to break, so I’d be happy if it could be repaired. Even with that, this is a Hotel worthy of a perfect score. I’ll be planning another stay, and I look forward to visiting again then.

Because the property is operated by a small team, there were a few minor things I noticed, but the meals were delicious and served in just the right portions, and I was able to enjoy the bath to my satisfaction with a Reservation. I’d love to come back in autumn to see the fall foliage.

It was a wonderful Accommodation where we could relax, take our time, and unwind. All the staff greeted us with smiles and guided us efficiently and pleasantly. From the Room window, the Hoki River flowed swiftly, and the sound of the water was quite loud, but we actually found it soothing and it added to the feeling of being on a trip. The Onsen included a large public bath and an open-air bath, and the water temperature was just right—very comfortable. However, depending on where you stand, you may be able to see into the bathroom from the Room window, so those who are concerned may want to be mindful of that. For dinner, they kindly changed a meat dish to a fish dish; my husband, who doesn’t like meat, was very happy, and everything was delicious—we enjoyed great conversation as well. Also, being able to dine in a private room was a plus: it felt more relaxed than in-room dining while still allowing us to enjoy our meal calmly without worrying about others nearby. With an 11:00 check-out time, we were able to take it easy in the morning too—this Accommodation was perfect for my husband and me as we like taking small trips for rest and a change of pace. Everything was wonderful, and I was especially impressed by how spacious the private bath was. Of course, the bath in the Room was also very relaxing, the meals were delicious, and the staff were kind and attentive—I loved everything. If I could make just one indulgent request, I would appreciate it if you could offer more savory snacks in the lounge (I wouldn’t mind paying for them), rather than only sweet items.

It was a wonderful, very comfortable Accommodation. The Room layout and atmosphere were excellent, and simply gazing at the forest view from the window was soothing—I lost track of time. The in-room Onsen was easy to use, and the water temperature was perfect whenever I bathed. The staff who assisted us were also wonderful. The meals were delicious, and the portions were just right. I would love to stay again in a different season.

I stayed here on a solo trip. It is a small Accommodation, but every detail is thoughtfully cared for, and I had a very comfortable stay. Ikebana arrangements were displayed throughout wherever my eyes fell, and I could really feel the Accommodation’s hospitality. The meals—especially the vegetables—were delicious, and since they were served in my Room, I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I left the Accommodation sincerely thinking, “I want to stay here again!” Thank you very much.

We stayed in one of the few Rooms with a private open-air Onsen bath. The interior was very stylish and lovely! Because it’s not a large Facility, we rarely ran into other guests. The staff were also very friendly and made us feel at home. The meals were more than satisfying for us as a couple, and hot dishes were served at just the right time so they wouldn’t cool down. We’ve visited many Onsens, but the milky Onsen here felt so wonderful that we’d love to soak in it again. We were truly impressed to have found such an excellent Accommodation where we could fully enjoy the Onsen!

It was a wonderful Accommodation. The staff’s service was very pleasant and made us feel truly comfortable. Their efforts for guests and thoughtful hospitality felt warmly sincere. It is a wonderful Accommodation where you can truly relax. We would love to visit again if we have the chance. It was our first time staying in Nasu, and it became a lovely memory for us. In particular, the male attendant’s lighthearted talk at dinner made everyone smile and created a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you very much. This was my first stay. The atmosphere was warm and homey, and all the staff welcomed us with bright smiles. The Facility is a bit old, but it is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The meals featured locally sourced ingredients, were beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The Onsen warmed me through to the core and left my skin glowing. I soaked in it many times. I felt refreshed for the first time in a while. I’m happy to have found an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

Our first trip to Nasu-Shiobara. We had been looking forward to our stay very much. There were four of us: my 90-year-old mother, my husband and I in our 60s, and our daughter in her 30s. Everyone agreed that the Room, baths, and meals were all extremely satisfying. Our Room had a private open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water, so my mother could soak many times with peace of mind. The spring quality was excellent as well—the hot water flowed continuously and left our skin feeling wonderfully smooth. The meals featured plenty of seasonal ingredients, were beautifully presented, and had gentle flavors—absolutely satisfying. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that our whole family agreed we definitely want to return during the autumn foliage season.

I stayed here on a solo trip as a treat for myself. From the moment I arrived, I was comforted by the staff’s warm and attentive hospitality. The meals were packed with fresh vegetables, with generous portions—I was completely satisfied. On top of that, the all-you-can-drink option, pre-dinner snacks, and dessert service made it a truly pampering stay. I was so full after dinner that I unfortunately couldn’t eat dessert, but next time I’d like to plan my appetite better so I can enjoy it. Even when we drove past the Hotel on our way out, the staff waved to me with big smiles, and it left me feeling warmly happy—almost to tears. Next time I’ll come with my family. We couldn’t hear pets from other rooms, and our dog seemed to relax and enjoy the stay. Having a private open-air bath made it easy to use at any time, which was wonderful. The meals were delicious, but since there were many hot pot dishes on a warm day, we felt that a few more chilled options might have been nice—overall, we were very satisfied.

The staff’s warm hospitality made us feel truly cared for, and we were able to forget about everyday life and relax in the Onsen. We also enjoyed the course dinner. We’d love to visit again.

We stayed on August 1–2, 2026! The Room (depending on the Plan, I assume) felt like it could have been a bit deeper and wider, but it matched the photos online. This was our first stay at Taoya as a family of four, including a second-year university student and a second-year high school student. We loved the all-inclusive free drinks (including alcohol) throughout our stay, plus the welcome dessert (the mini Mont Blanc was freshly piped on the spot). At dinner buffet, there were shake salads, freshly grilled and carved steak, and each table had a small burner for mini hot pots. There were also pasta and pizza, and even late-night snacks included in the Plan—everything was excellent in both taste and portion size. Breakfast was also buffet-style with build-your-own rice bowls, grilled fish using the tabletop burner, and freshly baked mini apple pies brought around to each table (they’re seriously piping hot, so be careful when eating). Our whole family was very satisfied. At dinner one night while we were taking a selfie with an outstretched arm, a staff member kindly offered to take our photo—an extra touch that made us even happier. The location was great too: easy access to Momiji-dani Suspension Bridge and the Nasu Highlands area, and Nikko is just over an hour away by expressway. Since it’s in the mountains we were worried about insects, but they didn’t bother us at all—we didn’t even encounter any during an evening walk (to the nearest suspension bridge), at the open-air bath on the 4th floor, or in our Room. The only insect we really noticed was dragonflies flying around the courtyard; little kids seemed to enjoy having them land on their fingers. Personally, I especially liked the courtyard bonfire! Thank you very much—we’d love to come again if we have another chance. (*Menus and types of insects may vary depending on season and timing.)

You can reach Nasu leisure spots such as Kinomata Gorge and Senbonmatsu Ranch in 20–60 minutes. The meals were delicious, and since it’s all-inclusive, we really appreciated being able to enjoy as many drinks and snacks as we wanted. Rooms on the 3rd floor feature free-flowing hot spring water directly from the source. It also leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth. The dinner menu had changed since our previous stay, and it actually felt like both the seasoning and ingredients had improved compared to last time. The portions were generous, and we were very satisfied. They also run a night bar (?), and we were told children are welcome, so our kids stopped by for a special summer vacation late night—and they looked so happy, as if they’d joined the adults’ club. Since it’s rare to find an Accommodation where six people can stay with an in-room bath supplied with free-flowing hot spring water directly from the source, we would love to stay again. We had a fun and comfortable time. Thank you very much.

Absolutely amazing. In addition to dinner and breakfast, you can also enjoy alcohol (beer and more) as well as steamed meat buns and traditional sweets at check-in and during late-night snacks. Dinner features grilled eel, sushi, crab, shabu-shabu, and more, and breakfast also offers a wide variety—everything was extremely satisfying. The Hotel has karaoke, table tennis, darts, foosball-style soccer games, and more, so we had a great time. The only minor issue was that the Room air conditioning felt a bit outdated; otherwise the value is almost too good to share. We were very satisfied overall, including the Onsen.

The meals and baths are excellent. The rice and soba are delicious. The Room feels clean. The quiet atmosphere is very relaxing. I would like to visit again. From a repeat guest who has stayed many times. The service is also good.

We stayed here with a couple of friends on the middle day of a three-day holiday weekend. The exterior felt a bit old, but the Room had been well renovated and was clean. In addition to the large public bath, there are six private open-air baths that can be locked, including one beside the gorge.\nWe were able to forget about everyday life and truly enjoy our time as a couple.\nAlthough it is a large Ryokan, it feels like a family-run place and has a warm atmosphere. We plan to stay again.
