I’ve stayed here several times because I find the thoughtful hospitality of this kaiseki Ryokan so soothing. As soon as I arrive and step out of the car, it begins with a pleasant riverside breeze, the sound of the stream, and a welcome drink. In addition to the gentle Onsen and delicious seasonal cuisine, the rice cooked in a pot right in front of you is more than I can finish no matter how hard I try—but they kindly make it into onigiri for a late-night snack. I’m truly satisfied 120% every time. I would love to visit again.

We stayed here as a couple.\n\nWe had been interested in this Accommodation for some time, and after actually staying, it exceeded our expectations. Above all, the milky-white free-flowing Onsen from the source was outstanding, and soaking at a leisurely pace felt truly luxurious. We also enjoyed the private open-air bath together without any worries, which became a wonderful memory.\n\nBoth dinner and breakfast featured carefully prepared dishes that made the most of local ingredients, and we were completely satisfied with both the taste and portion sizes. Everything at both meals was delicious, and we were impressed to enjoy freshly made dishes served piping hot.\n\nThe staff’s hospitality was warm, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout our stay, making it very comfortable. I stayed here on a solo trip. It is a small Accommodation, but every detail is thoughtfully cared for, and I had a very comfortable stay. Ikebana arrangements were displayed throughout wherever my eyes fell, and I could really feel the Accommodation’s hospitality. The meals—especially the vegetables—were delicious, and since they were served in my Room, I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I left the Accommodation sincerely thinking, “I want to stay here again!” Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful Accommodation where we could relax in peace, like staying at a private villa with only two Rooms. The chef’s cuisine was truly delicious—everything handmade with creative touches using local ingredients, beautifully presented and easy to enjoy. We were completely satisfied and enjoyed every dish. The staff also shared lots of great recommendations in Nasu, including tasty bakeries, drinks, and sightseeing spots, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. There was an alcoholic drink made with Tochiotome strawberries—I've forgotten the name, but I’d like to look for it next time I visit Nasu.

This is a dog-friendly Hotel, and both the Room and the dog run were clean. The bath was also excellent, so we had a very comfortable stay. The late-night tantanmen was delicious as well! Above all, all of the staff were very pleasant. In particular, the staff during meals and the chef who made the tantanmen were wonderful, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

We visited with great anticipation, having heard this Accommodation has a 150-year history. From the warm welcome at arrival, everyone greeted us with smiles, and our expectations immediately rose. We were escorted to our Room by a staff member, and the attentive service was remarkably detailed—something rare these days. The building has been beautifully renovated. Relaxing in the lounge surrounded by nature while looking out over the clear stream of the Hoki River was wonderful, and our conversations flowed easily. The facilities and our Room were spacious and spotless, and the gentle scent of incense was delightful. Every staff member we passed had a soothing smile. Dinner was carefully prepared, and the thoughtfully chosen tableware made it feel even more delicious. My mother and aunt—both very particular about food—praised it highly as well; we were truly impressed by the flavors of the ingredients themselves. The semi-open-air bath in our Room and the public baths felt silky soft on the skin, so we enjoyed them again and again. It seemed to promote perspiration; we warmed up from deep within, and all fatigue melted away. There were also table tennis, massages, and more available to enjoy—the service is thorough in every way. We also heard that for a Multiple Night Stay, different dishes are served each day. After dinner, we took a walk along the Hoki River and saw fireflies drifting through an enchanting scene—it felt magical. This became an unforgettable memory of this Accommodation. On the drive home we were already saying, “Let’s come back for a Multiple Night Stay in another season.” At a time when many places are simplifying their services, we are truly grateful to have found such a wonderful Accommodation with such attentive hospitality. We will recommend it to friends and acquaintances as well. Thank you very much.

Everyone at the Ryokan was very friendly, and we had a very pleasant stay. The Onsen was also excellent. My skin felt amazingly smooth—I was surprised. It would be helpful if drinking water were always provided in the Room.

It was excellent. The meals were delicious. The Onsen was free-flowing from the source, and the water temperature was just right.

First, the front desk staff were clear and courteous. The Room had been renovated and was clean, and it felt well maintained. We were given a questionnaire, but there was nothing to write with in the Room, so it would be nice to have at least one pen available. As for the baths, the indoor bath at night had many small black particles floating in it. Rust from the pipes? I’m not sure what it was, but by the morning bath they were completely gone—maybe the circulation system cleaned it up. The open-air bath was at a perfect temperature. The water quality must be good; my skin felt smooth and it was very relaxing. I noticed in the morning that if you stand by the window in the indoor bath and look outside, you can see across to the parking lot on the other side of the road and even people fishing in the stream. Since it’s on the 5th floor, it may be hard to see from below, but because you can clearly see out from above, I wondered if this is really okay. I feel a bit more privacy screening should be considered for the women’s bath. Both dinner and breakfast were plentiful and delicious! The all-you-can-drink option was also fantastic! On departure we received a 1,000-yen Discount Coupon. The validity period is short so I’m not sure when we can stay again, but since it can be used at other Itoen Group Accommodations as well, I’d like to use it if I get a chance. I stayed with my elderly mother and she was very happy. Thank you!

At the start of summer vacation, we rented a car and stayed here with three generations of our family—seven in total (we welcomed one more member this January). When we previously visited as a couple, we loved the well-appointed Onsen, the varied meals, and the comfort of the barrier-free tatami flooring throughout the building. This time we wanted to bring our grandchildren too, and it was even better than expected. There were plenty of young staff members, and their service was truly pleasant. Our grandchild was curious about what the approach to the entrance was—and ended up absolutely delighted. At the dining venue, there were many families with small children as well, so everyone could relax without feeling overly self-conscious. We’re grateful for such thoughtful consideration by this Accommodation. Sharing our first “men’s morning bath” with our grandchildren in the private family bath became an unforgettable memory. The entire property was spotless and uncluttered, making it extremely comfortable. Thank you very much.

We drove from Chiba. As an older couple, we chose this Onsen Accommodation so we could leave at a relaxed pace and truly unwind. It was a wonderful place that exceeded our expectations. The detached Room, the bath, and the meals were all outstanding. The meal included an impressive number of dishes, but each portion was thoughtfully sized, so even we were able to finish everything. The next day, we enjoyed the gentle Onsen three times and headed home unhurriedly. This is now on our list of places we definitely want to visit again.

This was my first stay. The corner Room had a great view, and everything was clean, so I had a very comfortable time. The only thing I noticed was the in-room bath. I asked the staff how to use it and tried filling it with the hot spring water right away. Since the temperature is close to 60°C, it was extremely hot at first, which I could confirm. However, when I tried filling it again later in the evening to enjoy a long soak, warm water did not come out easily. By then it was after 10:00 p.m., and I didn’t want to trouble the front desk, so I didn’t call. Another guest who uses added water mentioned experiencing the same situation: only a small amount came out from the spout little by little, and it felt like it took quite a long time to fill the tub. In the end, I gave up on using the in-room bath and used the large public bath instead, which was very relaxing. Other than that, everything was excellent—the staff were wonderful and kindly spoke to me, the meals were satisfying, and cleanliness throughout was great. With such beautiful views during this season of fresh greenery, I’d like to look forward to enjoying the in-room bath next time as well. I apologize for asking this as a request, but I would appreciate it if you could check on how well hot water fills into the tub. Personally, I was very satisfied with the hinoki bath.

This was my second stay. This time, I really enjoyed everything within the Hotel, including the private Onsen, karaoke, and massages. The buffet meals were also excellent, with crab and eel among the delicious options. One small thing I noticed was that it would have been even better if the buffet salad included lettuce or cucumbers, and that chopped green onions as a condiment were not available at breakfast. It’s a minor detail, but it stood out to me. I would like to stay again.

We stayed on August 1–2, 2026! The Room (depending on the Plan, I assume) felt like it could have been a bit deeper and wider, but it matched the photos online. This was our first stay at Taoya as a family of four, including a second-year university student and a second-year high school student. We loved the all-inclusive free drinks (including alcohol) throughout our stay, plus the welcome dessert (the mini Mont Blanc was freshly piped on the spot). At dinner buffet, there were shake salads, freshly grilled and carved steak, and each table had a small burner for mini hot pots. There were also pasta and pizza, and even late-night snacks included in the Plan—everything was excellent in both taste and portion size. Breakfast was also buffet-style with build-your-own rice bowls, grilled fish using the tabletop burner, and freshly baked mini apple pies brought around to each table (they’re seriously piping hot, so be careful when eating). Our whole family was very satisfied. At dinner one night while we were taking a selfie with an outstretched arm, a staff member kindly offered to take our photo—an extra touch that made us even happier. The location was great too: easy access to Momiji-dani Suspension Bridge and the Nasu Highlands area, and Nikko is just over an hour away by expressway. Since it’s in the mountains we were worried about insects, but they didn’t bother us at all—we didn’t even encounter any during an evening walk (to the nearest suspension bridge), at the open-air bath on the 4th floor, or in our Room. The only insect we really noticed was dragonflies flying around the courtyard; little kids seemed to enjoy having them land on their fingers. Personally, I especially liked the courtyard bonfire! Thank you very much—we’d love to come again if we have another chance. (*Menus and types of insects may vary depending on season and timing.)

Thank you very much for your attentive hospitality from our arrival to the very end! All of the staff were truly warm and welcoming, and it was deeply relaxing. The Onsen was excellent, and both the open-air bath in our Room and the private open-air bath had breathtaking views. The meals were generous in portion, everything was delicious, and we felt so happy. We were amazed by how much food there was, and thanks to the service of bringing dessert to our Room, we were able to enjoy everything right to the end. We left feeling warm in both body and mind.

There were lots of adorable cats, and they played with us using toys! When we left the Room door slightly open, they came in, which was incredibly soothing. We also had a child with us, and they happily played with the toys, so we’re really glad we came. Even our daughter, who usually spends her time playing games, didn’t play even once—it turned into a fulfilling day and we were very satisfied! She said she wants to come again, so we’ll check our schedule and plan to visit again.

I made a last-minute Reservation on the day, and there were hardly any other guests, so it was quiet. No matter how many times I used the bath, it felt like having it all to myself. Considering the price, I was very satisfied. The high Review rating is well deserved.

This was my second visit, following my stay last autumn. The staff are pleasant, and the meals—vegetable-focused—suit me very well at my age. The tableware is also beautiful. The bath was wonderful too, with a pleasantly silky feel to the water. As I was staying with my elderly mother, a Ryokan of this size is ideal. The Hasami-yaki rice bowls in the shop are so cute that I end up buying something every time. I’d love to stay again in autumn. Thank you very much.

I stayed here twice before it was upgraded. Back then, it felt like a traditional Onsen Accommodation with promotions like “Junretsu is coming!” and “We’re putting on a music show!” The building and Facilities were old, the toilet was cramped, and although it seemed to be cleaned, there were signs of age throughout. This time I stayed in the main building. The Room was clean, there was a fully equipped shower room, and overall usability had improved. Even though the structure is old, the interior has been renovated. Compared to before, the meals were delicious and offered plenty of Tochigi specialties such as garlic chive soba noodles, gyoza dumplings, and yuba (tofu skin). I will visit again.
