The Room also has a private Onsen bath, and there are four private baths as well—an impressive level of facilities for a pension. The meals offered many dishes, were beautifully colorful, and were very satisfying. We felt thoughtful attention to detail throughout. This is an Accommodation we’d like to return to. We requested an after-bath beer at check-in; we probably should have put it in the refrigerator. It would have been nice to have local craft beer, and we only realized later that we could exchange the in-house wear size, so we rated it 4—but overall it’s basically all 5s. We could also see Lake Inawashiro from the Room.

The dishes made with local Aizu ingredients were truly delicious. Both the large public bath overlooking the river and the in-Room bath were very relaxing.

My daughter, who lives far away, was able to come home during the holiday weekend, so we stayed on 9/20 during Silver Week. At first, we had booked another hotel because we planned to go grape picking in Fukushima and then travel on to Morioka. However, with the typhoon making the weather uncertain, we kept reconsidering until the last minute to see if we could make plans closer by. Then an opening came up for a room with a private open-air bath, so we quickly booked here. Since our family travels everywhere by car, changing our itinerary gave us extra time. We arrived early and were about to take a walk around the neighborhood when a parking staff member recommended some spots for us. The footbath was wonderful. The private open-air bath in the room doesn’t have a washing area, but it wasn’t an issue at all—just wash first at the large public bath or in the indoor bath in the room. Dinner and breakfast are buffet-style. When traveling as a family of four, we usually choose buffet accommodations anyway, so we really appreciate Itoen Hotel for its reasonable pricing. Some people have various opinions about the food, but if you search under the same conditions (a room with a private open-air bath), most places cost about twice as much as Itoen Hotel—or more. If you’re unhappy, it simply means you should increase your budget. The Moon Viewing Fair set and the bluefin tuna and roast beef sushi offered during Silver Week were especially popular. The ramen was also delicious—since this is Fukushima, maybe it was inspired by Kitakata-style soup? Because of the typhoon’s impact, we decided to relax at the hotel instead. We enjoyed soaking in the hot springs many times, eating until we were full, winning prizes at the game corner, and having fun playing table tennis—it was a great time. Since I booked in such a hurry, I caused some trouble due to my own mistake—I’m sorry about that. Also after checking out and leaving, my daughter realized something important to her was missing. When we turned back and returned to the hotel right away، they told us it had been found at the shop and they located it immediately—it truly helped us so much. This trip was planned as a motorcycle touring trip with an overnight stay. When I arrived at the Accommodation, the front desk staff kindly guided my motorcycle to a covered area and even provided an umbrella, which I really appreciated. The bath wasn’t large, but it was more than satisfactory. Above all, I can highly recommend the meals. Dinner was very satisfying, like a course meal—from meat and sashimi to pudding for dessert. And breakfast? It also offered a variety of delicious items such as grilled fish, and just like dinner I went back for seconds of rice. I’d like to stay here again when visiting the Fukushima area. From the Room I could see Lake Inawashiro; it was quiet around there and I slept very well.

The Onsen was incredibly relaxing, and I was able to unwind and enjoy a peaceful stay. I also appreciated that it is free-flowing from the source and available 24 hours a day. The water temperature was just right, and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. We had dinner on a riverside dining platform, and it was wonderful to enjoy the scenery and the sound of the flowing river while eating. The meal was delicious and had a great seasonal feel. The staff were courteous, which made the stay very comfortable. I would love to return if I have the chance.

This stay became a truly memorable experience. The staff welcomed us with warm smiles, guided us around the Accommodation with great care, and showed thoughtful attention to every detail—service that naturally made us want to return. We felt comfortable throughout our stay. The Onsen was, simply put, outstanding. Our Room had a private open-air bath that we could enjoy all to ourselves. The water temperature was perfect, and from the moment we stepped in, it felt as if all the tension left our body. Soaking slowly while looking out over the beautiful forest was pure bliss, and we enjoyed it many times during our stay. The amenities also had a wonderful fragrance and quickly became a favorite. We chose the sake tasting Plan, and each selection had its own character and was fun to compare. As a sake lover, I was especially happy to be able to order Hiroki Aiyama separately—an exceptionally rare bottle—so finding it on the menu genuinely thrilled me. It paired perfectly with Aizu dishes such as herring marinated with Japanese pepper leaves. Being able to enjoy such precious sake while traveling is a truly luxurious memory, and it felt like something unique to an Accommodation in Aizu. They also lend inflatable rings for the Onsen. At first I thought, “An inflatable ring in an Onsen?” but after trying it, I was honestly amazed by how comfortable it was. Floating effortlessly while soaking lets you relax even more deeply than usual. It made me appreciate both their creativity and their playful desire for guests to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. The inflatable ring left a strong impression—I could soak almost face-down in complete relaxation. The cuisine, Onsen, and service were all excellent; this wasn’t an Accommodation where only one aspect stood out—the entire experience was consistently high quality. Thoughtful care could be felt everywhere, and the whole place overflowed with genuine hospitality. People say travel is defined by where you stay, and this visit truly proved that saying right. From the superb Onsen and heartwarming service to the eye-opening inflatable ring experience, it became a wonderful trip filled with great memories. We would love to visit again in another season—thank you very much.”

We were very satisfied with our stay, enjoying delicious local cuisine and local sake. All the staff were warm and welcoming, and their service was excellent.
