We stayed at this inn again this year, as we did last year, around the same time. It’s not far from the main street and is right in the center of Kinosaki Onsen, making it convenient to visit any of the public baths. We were able to enjoy the ryokan’s hot spring without running into anyone and relax at our own pace. As you’d expect from a cuisine-focused ryokan, the meals were delicious. The service is also excellent.

We stayed for one night with the No Meals Included plan. My daughter wore a cute yukata that was available to borrow for free, and she was thrilled as we strolled around the Kinosaki Onsen town. After check-in, it’s best to choose your yukata right away! Quantities are limited, so the cute obi and cords may run out. The bath was spacious and relaxing, so we were very satisfied. If we have a chance to visit the area again, we would love to stay here once more.

Spotlessly clean and new—above all else! Even with five adults, it never felt cramped, and we really appreciated being able to use the recirculating hot spring bath at any time. That said, the bathroom door is clear glass and the inside is fully visible, so it’s fine for families, but if you’re staying with friends you may hesitate to use the sink area while someone is bathing. We ate on the balcony, and it was quiet around us, so we could truly relax. The amenities were on par with a hotel, and it was a big plus that dedicated towels were hung by both the toilet and the bathroom sink. Even at hotels, bath and face towels are often just barely provided per person, and there’s frequently no towel for drying hands after washing them—so I was impressed by how thoughtful this was. However, two things were disappointing. Even after checking via QR code for appliance instructions, we couldn’t figure out how to use the dishwasher and ended up washing by hand. It would be kinder if printed instructions (ideally laminated) were provided. Also, the griddle used for dinner teppanyaki was a small hot plate meant for 2–3 people; it was far too small for five people. At that size, you’d need two. Despite those negatives, overall this was such a great place that it more than made up for them. Next time we’d like to try Shirahama from the same group—we’re already planning our next trip.
