The powerful sound of the ocean waves and the amazing sea view with Izu Oshima right in front of you are simply outstanding. On top of that, there’s a pool and an Onsen, and at night you can see a beautiful moon—just perfect. The buffet dining was enjoyable, and the staff were very attentive. Our trip with our dog was also comfortable. I never knew my first visit to Atagawa would be such a wonderful place!! This is a Hotel that makes adults, kids, and even dogs?! want to come back!

I was finally able to stay at Akazawa Guest House, a place I had long wanted to visit, this time together with my son and his wife. The Accommodation is beautiful from the outside, but once you step inside, you’re amazed to see platinum used throughout the walls and other details. It’s a stunning space with meticulous attention paid to every element. The pampas grass in the courtyard was especially memorable, and we were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful time away from everyday life while feeling the charm of the season. Everything—the Room, the meals, and the atmosphere throughout the property—was wonderful, of course. But what stayed with me most was the warm hospitality of all the staff. My daughter-in-law is pregnant, and they kindly accommodated our requests in advance with great care. They prepared extra pillows in our Room and thoughtfully adjusted aspects of our meals as well, which we truly appreciated. In particular, the staff member who served our meals had such a lovely smile. Their service was both attentive and genuinely warm, which made us feel very at ease. The staff member who took photos for us also went beyond what we asked for and discreetly looked out for us so we could enjoy ourselves—an act of consideration that made us very happy. It’s certainly an exceptional space filled with luxury, but even more than that, I felt that the thoughtful and heartfelt hospitality of everyone working there makes this Accommodation even more special. I’m truly glad we were able to spend such precious family time at Akazawa Guest House. On our way home, my son and his wife said together, “Let’s come back again.” Thank you very much for giving us such a wonderful time that will stay in our hearts. We would love to visit again.

This is my favorite Ryokan in Izu Kogen. It was my first stay in a while. This time, my eldest daughter—who usually works extremely hard as a nurse—was able to take an unusual long weekend and said she wanted to celebrate my birthday, so we decided to stay here. There are nine private baths, each with a different style. My daughter was thrilled and kept saying, “I’m going to try them all!” At dinner, the kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) I specially requested was huge, and she happily said, “Dad, this fish is delicious!” She smiled the entire trip. The one who felt most healed by this relaxing getaway was me—the father. The staff’s service was truly top-notch, and our stay was very comfortable. I’d love to visit again. Next time, I’ll probably get scolded if I don’t bring my younger daughter too.

I keep coming back again and again because I look forward to the meals. Every dish reflects the chef’s dedication—beautiful to look at, delicious to eat, truly outstanding. Both breakfast and dinner offer a wide variety of handmade dishes, all of them excellent. As there are stairs throughout the property, it may be difficult for elderly guests or anyone with mobility concerns.

Although it was a last-minute Reservation, the staff were very kind and helpful. The meals were delicious! The Onsen was hot and left my skin glowing. I love a hotter Onsen, so I was really happy. I’d love to stay again. The nearby beach had very high waves, but that was fun in its own way. After getting out of the sea, I appreciated having showers available to rinse off the sand.

Having stayed at retreat Hotels all over the whole country, I found this Retreat Onko Chishin to be outstanding in every way. The Room, bath, meals and drinks, and hospitality all delivered a high level of satisfaction, making for a truly pleasant stay. This Hotel has been reborn through the renovation of an existing Hotel, and the quality of the renovation and overall atmosphere were excellent.

I made the mistake of thinking I had booked the same Room as before, not realizing it had been completely renovated, and only noticed after entering. I hadn’t read the description carefully enough. It was my first time using a daybed, but it felt modern, and I’m satisfied with it in its own way. As for the in-room bath, last time it rained and we got caught in the rain while using the open-air bath, but this time it felt easier to use than before. However, adjusting the temperature is still a bit tricky. The meals were just as satisfying as before in both portion size and taste. Last time, simmered golden eye snapper was served at the end when I was already very full, so I couldn’t finish it, but this time it was served midway through and I was able to eat everything. That said, the seasoning of the spiny lobster dish didn’t quite suit two elderly guests like us. It felt overly elaborate and seemed to mask the lobster’s natural flavor. For us, something simpler like sashimi or simply grilled would have been better. Our attendant was a foreign national and did their best to explain each dish clearly, which we appreciated; casual conversation might be difficult though. It seems that staffing shortages have reached Hotels as well. We were impressed that you greeted us right as we drove in upon arrival and saw us off at departure—service that remained just as attentive as last time. If we have another chance to visit Izu, we would like to stay with you again. Thank you very much.

We were able to stay at a great price with a last-minute deal during heavy rain. The Room was disappointing in that there was no valuables box, and the toilet exhaust fan didn’t work. For valuables, we had to go all the way to the bath area on the 5th floor to use the valuables box there, then head to the far open-air bath on the 6th floor. The open-air bath was amazing. We went in during heavy rain wearing a woven hat, but there were only two, so other guests seemed inconvenienced. We enjoyed it enough and handed our umbrella over before leaving. It would be better if a few more were provided. Amenities in the Room were minimal, and anything else you need is placed on the 1st floor, so you go pick it up yourself. The pillow was very thin, so we borrowed one from three types of pillows available on the 1st floor. When I visited it was pouring rain and there weren’t many other guests, so pillows were still available—but I wonder if they restock them when it’s busy? As for meals, for this price they were acceptable. The steak was processed meat. It’s all-you-can-eat crab, but it’s better not to expect too much. There was also eel; warming it up on the hot plate after cooking steak made it tasty. For breakfast, the DIY rice bowl (toppings over rice) was delicious. Above all, drinks were all-you-can-drink from check-in until 11:00 p.m.—dinner started just 30 minutes after welcome drinks ended—and after that we went to the bar. Since you can take drinks back to your Room as well, we relaxed and drank plenty. The welcome oden and steamed meat buns were also delicious. We also enjoyed midnight udon as a late-night snack—overall we fully made use of everything. The staff members were foreigners as well, but everyone worked very hard and they were wonderful. We would definitely like to return again. Thank you very much.

We stayed in “Yamabuki 301” for a refreshing getaway as a couple. Although we arrived a little earlier than planned due to our own circumstances, the staff welcomed us warmly and graciously, which truly impressed us. What stood out most during our stay was the outstanding dining experience. The French dinner was delicate and beautifully presented—something to enjoy with all five senses—and we savored it to the fullest along with the wine pairing. Even after returning to our Room, we found ourselves talking together about the lingering impressions of the meal. The Japanese breakfast was also wonderful: rice, soup, and grilled fish were served at their best—perfectly warm and delicious—and we felt genuine hospitality in every detail. We would have loved it if items like the miso and nori tsukudani served at breakfast were available for purchase at the shop. One reason we chose this Room was its water garden, and it was truly soothing. In particular, the atmosphere of the in-room bath and its perfectly balanced water temperature were exceptional—it melted away all our everyday fatigue. The spa we enjoyed as a couple was also an excellent relaxation experience from start to finish, thanks to attentive service and skilled all-hand treatments. (It would be even better if there were options such as massage Plans focused on deep tissue or loosening tight muscles.) If there is one small point: since it was an extremely hot day when we visited, we wished the refrigerator in our Room cooled a bit more strongly. However, overall satisfaction far exceeded that minor concern—this was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Next time, we’d love to visit in another season to enjoy the changing scenery; in summer, perhaps choose a villa with a pool; and while the French cuisine goes without saying, we’d also like to try Japanese dinner during a Multiple Night Stay. We’re grateful to have found an Accommodation that makes us want to return again. Thank you very much.

All the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, friendly, and wonderful!! Even though it was very reasonably priced, the Room was clean, there was a private bath, a relaxing area with manga and games, free drinks, a microwave, and access to the rooftop—our kids were delighted! Overall it was compact and easy to get around, making it very comfortable to stay! This time we booked No Meals Included, but next time we’d like to come back and relax with meals included as well! Thank you very much!

We could choose our meals, and we were very satisfied with the seafood shabu-shabu we had hoped for at dinner. The Japanese breakfast also came with plenty of sides to go with rice, and I ended up having a second helping. We also enjoyed the somen before dinner, ice cream and coffee milk after the bath, late-night soba (ramen), and the free drinks at the front desk. The Room was spacious and even had a massage chair, so we could truly relax. It was a shame the weather wasn’t great, but if it had been clear, we probably could have seen a beautiful starry sky from the terrace—I'd love to visit again if I get the chance.

Although we stayed for only one night, we were warmly looked after from the send-off to and from the station, and throughout our stay. Food preferences vary, but both dinner and breakfast were served in satisfying portions. There didn’t seem to be many restaurants around the Accommodation, so we were glad we ate at the Accommodation.

We stayed as a family of four. Since we booked our stay mainly to use the spa, pool, and kids’ area, we were very satisfied. We especially made great use of the lounge. Regarding service, we realized at check-in that our Reservation did not include the children, but the staff responded quickly and we were able to stay—truly grateful.

Great location and amazing views. The Onsen was also excellent. The bath area was spacious, and having both a sauna and a cold plunge made it perfect. All the staff were wonderful as well. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you.

With its high ceilings, the space felt open and truly luxurious. Both the bath and sauna were spacious, allowing you to relax at your own pace. The sauna also offers self-service löyly, so it heats up properly—an authentic setup that even sauna enthusiasts will be satisfied with. It was also impressive how the concept was consistently carried through to the smallest details, from pajamas and cooking utensils to lighting, reflecting the owner’s careful attention. From the large windows, we enjoyed panoramic views of lush greenery and Mt. Omuro, which were soothing both in the morning and at sunset. For breakfast, we grilled dried fish ourselves; it felt special in a way that’s different from a Ryokan experience, and it was delicious. The space, Facility offerings, and views were all outstanding—an Accommodation we’d love to visit again in a different season.

Since we traveled by train, we really appreciated the Shuttle Service to Izu-Kogen Station. The Room was spacious, well cleaned, and very comfortable. The large public bath was also clean, and we were happy to enjoy the free-flowing Onsen. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style. The taste was average, but there was a good variety, and we enjoyed local specialties such as sashimi, simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino), and Shizuoka oden. The bread at breakfast was especially delicious. There were plenty of popular manga available at the front desk, which we could borrow and read in our Room. All staff were kind, and with thorough cleaning and well-stocked amenities, we felt their thoughtful attention to detail throughout our stay. We would like to stay again if we have the chance.

I stayed for two nights and three days. They let me park my motorcycle indoors, which gave me peace of mind. The bath was incredibly relaxing, and I went in many times. The food was delicious—I ate too much. I also appreciated the all-you-can-drink alcohol option. I fully enjoyed the three days and had a wonderful touring trip. Thank you to Itoen Hotel Atagawa. Thank you for such a great and enjoyable tour—I will definitely visit again.

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, and the meals were completely different each night; both were very elaborate and delicious. Even though it was just the two of us on the second day, we were delighted by the generous dishes and desserts. If I had to mention one thing, since dinner lasts an hour, the wooden chairs—though beautiful—are a bit hard, so having seat cushions would be appreciated.

I made my first Reservation at this Hotel because a friend staying with me wanted to bring their dog. The owner and his wife were very friendly and easy to talk to. The Room had a standard unit bath, but the large stone communal bath was spacious and very relaxing. The best part here is the food. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we left completely full. It’s a Hotel I’d visit just for the meals. I’d definitely like to stay again.

We stayed with a group of 8, including my parents and my sister's family. It was our first time staying at a Vacation Rental for just one night, with check-in at 4 PM and check-out at 10 AM, so we were initially concerned about the short stay. However, since there were no guests before or after us this time, we were able to enjoy a free early check-in at 3 PM and a paid late check-out at 12 PM. This allowed us to relax more than expected, resulting in high satisfaction. Additionally, we appreciated being allowed to store food items (fresh ingredients and beverages) brought from home in the Facility's refrigerator after noon. This made dinner preparation smoother and more convenient. For dinner for my parents, I wanted to prepare sashimi and ordered it from Yamatsune Fresh Fish Shop near Ito Station based on online research. In hindsight, local sashimi or spiny lobster available at Maxvalue near Izukogen Station would have sufficed as well. During a walk near the Facility, I discovered Kanemitsu Suisan nearby; according to online reviews, it seems excellent for sashimi reservations when staying here. Regarding the Facility itself: unfortunately due to heavy rain during our stay, having the bath and sauna located downstairs was slightly challenging for my elderly parents. However, for most people this detached setup could be seen as an advantage—it was very nice overall! One suggestion would be adding waterproof speakers in the bath area for music playback. The dishes, glasses, living room furniture (table/chairs), lighting fixtures, plants—all items within the Facility—were stylishly curated without anything disappointing us; we had an enjoyable time throughout our stay. For those considering similar concerns: please note that this Accommodation operates as private lodging (minpaku). You may not expect much direct communication with staff post-Reservation completion—phone calls typically connect you only via automated voicemail where messages can be left but may not receive callbacks promptly; email correspondence became possible only days prior instead of earlier engagement like other IKYU.com Vacation Rentals we've experienced before which caused some initial unease despite FAQs covering most queries adequately on their website already. Ultimately though—the quality offered by this Accommodation is exceptional! Approaching your stay understanding these aspects should ensure an enjoyable experience overall!
