I stayed here for one night during the May holiday period. The room was very clean, which was great. From the 15th floor, I could only catch a brief view of the Northern Alps in the evening and early morning, but if I’m lucky enough to get clear weather next time, it would be an outstanding stay. Breakfast was delicious as well—these days many Hotels seem to be putting more effort into their food, and I really enjoyed it. Overall, this is a highly rated Hotel. I hear it will relaunch this autumn as an international luxury Hotel brand, and I’m very much looking forward to it.

As explained in the bathroom guide, the water seems to have an ideal pH, so it feels smooth on the skin with no resistance, and it’s so pleasant you’ll want to stay in forever. I’ve been to many Onsen, and this may have been the most comfortable of all. The meals were extremely satisfying in both portion size and taste. The Hida beef shabu-shabu was especially tender, sweet, and delicious. The steamed abalone was also tender, and mixing the two sauces made it outstanding. Everything else was equally well prepared and thoughtfully crafted. The staff were highly professional, and their smiles were wonderful. As for services, we enjoyed a welcome drink and one complimentary alcoholic drink after dinner in the lounge, which made for a very relaxing time. Next time, I’d love to stay here with my parents!

This was my fourth stay. This place is exceptionally well-equipped for dogs, and everything is comfortable. When it comes to Facilities where you can stay with your dog, owners often have to compromise on something, but here both the meals and the baths were completely satisfying. The Hotel staff are kind, and it’s simply a very welcoming place. We stayed during the Obon holiday period, but it was wonderfully cool, and our dog—who had been worn out by the summer heat of over 35°C every day—was full of energy again. It’s truly an ideal summer retreat.

Tucked away deep in the mountains, it was wonderfully quiet, and the food was delicious—we were able to truly relax. The bath was also very soothing, and on our way home my husband and I found ourselves saying, “We definitely want to come back.” My only regret is that I didn’t get a chance to chat with the gentleman by the irori hearth. I was too shy to start a conversation, but next time I’d like to work up the courage and talk with him.

In Hida Takayama, I searched by price and chose this place because it was one of the cheapest and looked clean. For our family of five, we booked a Room with two large beds and two standard beds, and it was the perfect choice. The kids loved it because it felt special. I’ve stayed at many Hotels before, and this place was as clean as a luxury Hotel, plus it even had a drum-style washing machine. Great value for the price—highly recommended.

The atmosphere of the Hotel, the food, the service, and the comfort of the bed were all excellent, making my stay very pleasant. I also learned something new about wine, which was interesting. Since there was less snow than expected, the view from the Room felt a bit lacking. I would love to stay again during a season with more snow or in another season altogether.

It was a stylish and simple hotel. It was just right for No Meals Included. The hotel staff were all lovely, easy to talk to, and provided courteous service!
