We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. It was our first family trip with the puppy we had just welcomed home, and we had many worries, but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the well-stocked amenities, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. And above all, the meals were delicious!! We had both breakfast and dinner, and both left us completely satisfied—full in body and heart. The Onsen in the large public bath was wonderful as well. The open-air bath in our Room is not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing. Our family has already been saying how we want to come back again soon.

I’d been wanting to visit for a long time, and I was finally able to stay this time. Unfortunately, because of the rain there was no goat welcome, but I enjoyed a champagne welcome drink in the lobby and headed to my Room feeling excited. The Room was very spacious and impeccably clean, so I felt comfortable throughout my stay. The fog was quite heavy so the view wasn’t very clear, but I was told you can see Mt. Fuji on a clear day. I also really appreciated the complimentary free-flow drinks in the refrigerator. I requested refills of various items such as half bottles of champagne and water. The bath is an Onsen, with a faint sulfur scent and just the right temperature. It wasn’t an open-air bath, but opening the window made it feel wonderfully airy. It was also my first time staying in a Room with a sauna (with cold plunge), and it was a great experience—I worked up a good sweat and truly enjoyed it. Dinner was thoughtfully prepared across every dish and absolutely delicious! The wine pairing was excellent as well, and I had a wonderful time until the very end. For a late-night snack, we were served conger eel sushi—far beyond what you’d expect for “late-night,” truly authentic. I enjoyed it with another refill of champagne. For breakfast we chose in-Room dining; the pork miso soup was especially delicious, and being able to have seconds left me completely satisfied. Above all, the staff were courteous with just the right sense of distance while still being incredibly attentive—checking on drink replenishments in our Room and more—which made for an excellent stay. I would love to return for another stay. Thank you very much.

With only a small number of Rooms, we were able to enjoy the Facility without much contact with other guests. As for the baths, we were able to take our time and enjoy all of them—the private open-air bath, the in-room open-air bath, and the in-room indoor bath. We’d also like to try the stone sauna next time. There were hours when we could use the lounge for beer, alcohol, coffee, and more. Although we couldn’t make it for cocktail time, we still made good use of it. It would be even better if the lounge stayed open a little later. Every dish had a gentle flavor and there was an impressive variety; everything was delicious and beautifully presented, so we enjoyed it with our eyes as well. Being able to choose three desserts ourselves was also great. Because we could dine at a relaxed pace, the portions felt just right and everything was very tasty. The Room was so clean that it didn’t feel like 15 years had passed at all, and we stayed very comfortably. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the wash area was a bit small. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as having separate towels prepared for the open-air bath and the indoor bath. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

It is a very quiet Ryokan where we were able to relax and enjoy delicious cuisine. The in-Room Onsen was spacious and comfortable, and with the drink service as well, we were able to unwind at a leisurely pace. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, allowing us to fully savor the season. We are grateful for the thoughtful hospitality of the staff. The only reason I did not give full marks for the Facility and amenities is simply a small, indulgent wish: it would be nice if samue loungewear were available.

This was our first time staying in Sengokuhara. The interior of the building felt darker than we expected. It felt very private, and we did not encounter any other guests at all during our stay. The meals were just the right amount for us and were very delicious. Above all, the in-Room Onsen was wonderful, and we enjoyed it many times. Having steps installed inside the bathtub made it very easy to use for someone with mobility issues. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. Thank you for all your thoughtful care and attention. We will look forward to staying again and will get through our daily life with that in mind.

Due to the bad weather, I think I got soaked in the rain and started feeling unwell after check-in. When I felt chills and asked the front desk for heating, they delivered a heater and a fan heater to my Room. They even set them up for me, which I truly appreciated. They also offered to bring rice porridge to my Room, but when I said I wanted to go to the restaurant, they kindly provided rice porridge specially at dinner. Everything was served with warm smiles, and it was very comforting. Thank you very much. The next day I recovered and was able to enjoy Picasso at the museum before heading home. (The free-flowing hot spring water was excellent.)

The building, Rooms, and all shared areas are stylish and spotless. The services and meals are excellent. There is nothing around the Hotel, so I was able to relax quietly in the in-room Onsen.

This was my third stay. It was my first time visiting in summer, and the lush greenery outside the window was very soothing. There are many international staff members, but everyone works hard and it never feels out of place. This time, I ordered cake and coffee to go from the café lounge, and I really appreciated how a Japanese staff member carefully packed the cup in the cake box so it wouldn’t tip over—such thoughtful attention to detail. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

I stay at Onsen inns in Hakone every month, and the private bath here was absolutely outstanding! The meals were delicious, and the rice at breakfast was especially exceptional. Above all, the staff’s hospitality made me feel truly happy. Thank you very much!

I chose this because I expected to arrive after 6:00 PM due to other commitments, and it was great! Since it’s part of a resort condominium, the renovated Room was spacious and had a wonderful view with lots of greenery. Dinner and breakfast are prepared in the refrigerator, so you can heat them up with the IH cooktop or microwave and eat whenever you like. Bringing your own food is allowed, so I enjoyed dinner with sashimi and my favorite drinks! The Onsen was at a comfortable temperature, though it felt a bit small. There is no open-air bath, but even the indoor bath has a great view. The staff interaction was minimal as needed, but their smiles were nice. Recommended for experienced travelers!

From the moment we boarded the elevator to the Ryokan from in front of Sounzan Station, it was an exciting experience. The Accommodation and all the staff welcomed us with a warm atmosphere, and everything—the Room, the carefully prepared meals, the Onsen, and the views—was wonderfully soothing. We were able to spend a slow, quiet, luxurious time. Thank you very much.

It was a lovely, small Hotel with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The free-flow option was great. The chandelier in the dining room was sparkling and beautiful. The meals were delicious as well. I was satisfied with the Onsen, the Room, and the service. Above all, it wasn’t noisy or crowded—just calm and peaceful.

We visited with our 3-month-old baby. As it was our first trip with a child, we were anxious at first, but thanks to the warm hospitality and flexible support, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. We had made a Reservation for a dinner course at the restaurant, and I was worried that if our baby cried it might disturb other guests. The staff continued to reassure me with thoughtful words, and I was especially impressed by how quickly they arranged to change the latter part of the meal to room service. I’m truly grateful to the kind female staff member who took care of us at dinner! Because of this heartfelt service, we decided to make our next Reservation with a Hyatt property as well. Thank you for your hospitality. It rained that day, but on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji straight ahead from the lobby. We enjoyed breakfast in the morning; the homemade yogurt and dressings were made with quality ingredients and were delicious. It was a continental breakfast, but we left feeling very full. The bath was clean, and we could see the night view of Gotemba from the open-air bath. On a clear day, you can also see Mt. Fuji straight ahead. The staff were polite and welcoming with warm smiles. This time, we requested a Room on the Mt. Fuji side and stayed on the second floor. Because it was labeled “Mt. Fuji side,” we assumed we would be able to see Mt. Fuji from the window, but in reality we could only see forest. In that case, I feel there was no need to make a Reservation for the more expensive Mt. Fuji-side Room. In any event, it was a very nice Hotel overall. Thank you very much.

The Okinawa Fair and the tuna carving show were amazing! This was our second visit during summer vacation, and it was so delicious that we’d love for you to hold it again next year. The open-air bath in the Room was also very comfortable, and no matter how many times we visit in a year, we never get tired of it. The warm smiles and attentive hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff are so comforting and relaxing that every time we come, we find ourselves wanting to return again soon. We’ll be back before the end of the year—thank you very much.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip. From the moment we arrived until the very end, we truly had a wonderful time. The Room was spacious and spotless, with thoughtful attention to every detail. It was so comfortable that we honestly wished we could stay there forever. All of the staff were warm throughout our stay, full of attentive care and hospitality, and we found ourselves thinking again and again how glad we were to have chosen this place. The Room, the meals, the Onsen, and especially the staff’s thoughtfulness—everything was exceptional. We couldn’t be more satisfied with our stay. We have stayed at many Accommodations over the years, but this is without a doubt the best one we have ever experienced. We are truly glad we chose “Hakone Gen” for such an important anniversary. This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

We stayed here to celebrate my aunt’s 91st birthday. Just as the Reviews said, not only was the staff’s hospitality outstanding, but every Facility and service was truly top-class. For my aunt, who has difficulty walking, the barrier-free interior made it very comfortable. During our 2-night, 3-day stay, we didn’t step outside the Hotel even once—we simply relaxed and took it easy inside—and both my aunt and I were extremely satisfied. It was a wonderful Hotel that made us want to come back and also recommend it to friends. Thank you very much to all the staff!

The facilities, bath area, and Room were all clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. There was a great variety of food we enjoyed, along with many kinds of alcohol and drinks—it felt like a luxurious Business Hotel. The staff were very kind, and check-in and payment were smooth. The weather wasn’t great, but it was still a fun golf trip. The misty garden had an almost magical atmosphere and was lovely too.
