For dog lovers, traveling can be a challenge. This time we chose an Accommodation where our dog could stay too, and it was a great success. The Room was spacious enough to spend time comfortably with a small dog. The Room was very clean, and the property had lots of Japanese art—like a small museum. We enjoyed the indoor bath, open-air bath, sauna, and cold plunge while admiring the stunning tile murals on the walls. And the biggest highlight was the meals. We upgraded our plan, and it was truly excellent—beautifully prepared and delicious. We did feel that beer and other drinks were a bit pricey. The service was polite, and even the international staff were attentive, so we were very comfortable throughout our stay. This is an Accommodation we will definitely return to.

We arrived by car, and even in the heat we were greeted before we even reached the entrance. Sometimes you’re welcomed after arriving at the entrance, or staff are stationed at the entrance to greet you—but this time they were already waiting out front. Isn’t that almost too wonderful? The welcome drink was delicious as well. This time we chose a lower grade and stayed in the Residence building. Getting from the Main building to the Residence requires walking a short distance outside, so it might be a concern on rainy days. There are also a few stairs, but staff will carry your luggage, so it shouldn’t be an issue. There is a private Onsen along the way, so for those who plan to use it, staying in the Residence may actually be more convenient. The Room was spacious enough. Our pre-requested baby cot, diaper bin, baby bath, etc., were already set up in the Room, so families with babies can stay with peace of mind. The indoor bath is an Onsen with free-flowing natural spring water in the Room. The temperature was perfect—absolutely wonderful. The BVLGARI amenities were also great. Breakfast was delicious, and the portions were just right—more than enough. As for the cuisine overall, I think the chef’s skill is outstanding. At dinner service most guests dress neatly, so for men it’s better to wear something with a collar to match the atmosphere. On our first stay last time we didn’t know what to expect and dressed too casually—lesson learned. Shorts and a T-shirt would probably still be fine; this is simply about maintaining the overall ambiance. The outer-side seating likely has better views, but if you have children I recommend sitting on the lobby side—you don’t have to worry as much about others there, which really helps. If your baby starts crying hard nonstop (as babies do), you can simply step out. I’m very interested in dinner as well, but with a baby we couldn’t use it considering the atmosphere—hopefully someday. The evening ambiance is wonderful. Service is excellent as expected—from checkout through seeing us off was superb—and I honestly wonder if there is any Accommodation that surpasses this one. Given today’s times I imagine staff training must be challenging everywhere, but this Accommodation’s hospitality stands out as truly exceptional. Thank you to all staff members and chefs alike. Due to the bad weather, I think I got soaked in the rain and started feeling unwell after check-in. When I felt chills and asked the front desk for heating, they delivered a heater and a fan heater to my Room. They even set them up for me, which I truly appreciated. They also offered to bring rice porridge to my Room, but when I said I wanted to go to the restaurant, they kindly provided rice porridge specially at dinner. Everything was served with warm smiles, and it was very comforting. Thank you very much. The next day I recovered and was able to enjoy Picasso at the museum before heading home. (The free-flowing hot spring water was excellent.)

We are always very satisfied with the pleasant hospitality, delicious meals, and relaxing Onsen. This time, we chose the teppanyaki dinner course for the first time, and it was delicious and very satisfying. It made us want to visit again right away, so as soon as we returned home, we promptly made our next Reservation. We look forward to staying with you again.

The Accommodation was very clean and well maintained. It felt newer than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Dinner was stylish and delicious, with plenty of great dishes—I’m glad I chose the plan with dinner included. The open-air bath was an Onsen, and it warmed me up comfortably. This is an Accommodation I can recommend, and I’d love to stay again.

We stayed as a family of three. We used both the second-floor Onsen, which requires a time Reservation, and the first-floor Onsen, which can be used if available. The second-floor Onsen felt spacious enough for about 4–5 people, and the first-floor one was even larger. All amenities such as shampoo were provided. In the hallway, there was a toaster oven, microwave, and a household refrigerator. Since it was this season, it was great that we could freeze our ice packs properly. There was also table tennis, which we enjoyed during breaks. It’s set up near the entrance, so it can feel a bit awkward when other guests come in, but there wasn’t much foot traffic so it was acceptable. In our Room, the futons were already laid out when we arrived. The mattresses were comfortably firm and we slept well. The toilet was clean as well, though I felt an extra light at the sink area would have been helpful. It was our first time trying an Onsen in this area; it had cloudy water and the quality of the spring water was excellent. Thank you very much.

I stayed here with my wife for our wedding anniversary. The Room and the in-room bath were very clean, and we were able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious no matter what we tried, and we were truly impressed. All of the staff were kind, and greeted us every time we saw them, so even though it was just a one-night stay, we felt very comfortable throughout. If we have the opportunity, I sincerely hope to stay here again. Thank you very much for providing such a wonderful experience.

I had always thought that if I were to stay in Hakone, it would be at Suishoen, and my wish finally came true—I was able to visit at last! It was exactly the Accommodation I had imagined, and I could truly feel the high quality in every aspect, making for a very fulfilling stay. The meals I had been looking forward to were not only delicious but also a delight to the eyes, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. That said, the corn rice at dinner felt a bit overdone… I think simple corn would have been enough. The Room was more spacious than I expected and very relaxing, and I thoroughly enjoyed the bath with a footbath feature. Above all, the staff’s thoughtful hospitality was outstanding—this was an Accommodation where I felt truly comfortable.

This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

My mother and I stayed for one night in August 2026. After we arrived, we were shown to the larger Room. We truly appreciated this unexpected kindness. The garden was beautifully maintained, and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing time there. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were just right—not too much. The cuisine was classic and seasonal. After the bath, we went to the lounge, where there was a wonderful selection of art books and magazines, and the complimentary drinks were excellent. The mountain views and garden from there were so beautiful that they made us forget our everyday fatigue. The service felt just right—neither too close nor too distant. Since it was drizzling the next day, we were also grateful for the service of being driven to the Hakone Open-Air Museum. One suggestion: it would be even better if the labels for the shampoo and conditioner in the bath area were easier to understand (other older guests also seemed confused). I would love to visit your new Accommodation near Mt. Fuji as well. Thank you very much.

My monthly staycation is usually at a Hotel in my local Minato Mirai area, but this time I went a bit farther to Hotel Indigo Gora. I drove there alone, and the winding mountain roads in Hakone were a little tiring. I arrived before check-in and planned to relax at the footbath, but as soon as I parked in the outdoor lot in front of the Hotel, a staff member came right away and helped with my luggage. The welcome drink and Umaibo snack were a nice touch, and being able to check in comfortably while seated is one of those pleasures you expect from a Hotel of this class. When I entered my Room with the staff’s guidance, I couldn’t help saying, “Beautiful!” out loud. It’s a compact Hotel with around 100 rooms, but the Japanese-modern design—combining a raised tatami area with beds—was truly charming. I usually prefer modern Hotels, but this stay reminded me how calming and appealing Japanese-modern style can be. For dinner, I ordered à la carte at the on-site restaurant. The shrimp, scallops, and abalone in the bouillabaisse were surprisingly tender; the burrata was rich and paired perfectly with tomato and basil. The white wine went down easily. Since I don’t eat much, I also appreciated having à la carte options instead of only set courses. The bath in my Room was spacious, and I was able to fully enjoy the Onsen at leisure. The breakfast buffet also impressed me in both variety and quality—especially the green beans dressed with sesame sauce, which tasted far better than anything I could make at home. Even as someone who eats lightly (and can be picky), it was more than satisfying. The hospitality from everyone on staff was excellent, and the entire property was beautiful and comfortable. It was a wonderful Hotel that made me want to return again.

Herbal medicinal teas before and after meals are also a nice touch. At dinner, you can drink as much as you like of your preferred beverages, including alcohol, and every dish was truly delicious. Although we stayed on a weekday, they kindly served us the weekend-only sashimi as well, which we enjoyed with fresh wasabi! The baths were crowded, so we couldn’t relax as much as we’d hoped, but overall we were satisfied. However, it was disappointing that the futon in the Japanese-style room was quite thin.

Choosing this Hotel for my first solo trip to Hakone was the right decision. There are relaxing spaces throughout the spacious grounds, and the all-inclusive plan is also very appealing. Getting around inside the Hotel involves stairs and covers a wide area—perfect for getting some exercise! I’ve made another Reservation, so I look forward to staying again.

As soon as we entered the Accommodation, there was an indoor dog run, and all the dogs were very friendly—our dog seemed to have a great time too. The Room was clean and well maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. The Facility information could be accessed by scanning a QR code and viewing it on our own smartphones, so there was nothing unnecessary on the table—it felt simple and uncluttered. The meals were delicious as well. Thank you very much.

The Room was spacious, bright, and clean, and we were very satisfied. We stayed as a group of six across two generations including children, and the 2LDK layout was perfect. Since two of us are smokers, we were also able to relax and smoke in the Room, which made everything even better. We would like to stay again. We checked various sites, but in the end IKYU offered the best price and felt the most reliable.

This was my second stay. Just like last time, the meals were incredibly delicious and truly impressed me. Even classic dishes like shabu-shabu had thoughtful touches that felt unique to this Accommodation, which was a pleasant surprise and made dining a real joy. The Room was also comfortable and clean, and I was able to relax completely. The Onsen was wonderful, and I enjoyed the bath in the Room as well as the other private baths many times. The attentive yet unobtrusive service was also very pleasant. Thank you very much. I would love to stay again.

I made a direct Reservation and had a very pleasant stay with kind, attentive service. I was surprised by how steep the hill is, but the Onsen is free-flowing from the source and left my skin feeling silky smooth, and the meals were carefully prepared, lightly seasoned, and delicious. I’d love to come again.

I recently traveled to Hakone. I was unsure which Hotel or Ryokan to choose, but I decided on Mitake-san because they offered in-room dining that looked delicious in the photos and had a private open-air bath option. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by adorable cats and kind staff, and the food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful and happy two days in Hakone. I hope to visit again within this year!
