I stayed with my elderly mother, my niece who had returned from abroad, and my daughter. They were very kind and attentive to foreign guests, and they accommodated our food requests exactly as asked. We are truly grateful. Unfortunately, it rained heavily both days so we couldn’t do much sightseeing, but Hakone Shrine was within walking distance for a stroll. The next day the roads were closed and it was quite difficult, but the staff informed us early in the morning, which helped a lot and became a good memory for my nieces as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

Located on the shores of Lake Ashi, the views were stunning and the building was lovely. Kuzuryu Shrine is nearby, and it was easy to take the ropeway, so we had a wonderful time. We also enjoyed a French meal at Trianon, which was delicious and very satisfying. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

We chose the Anniversary Plan as it coincided with my husband’s five-year service refresh leave and the month of our wedding anniversary. On this Hakone trip, we used the free pass and hadn’t realized the hotel was on higher ground, so we quickly arranged a taxi to get there. After the hassle of getting there, I briefly wondered if we’d chosen the wrong place—but that concern disappeared as soon as we arrived. From the large lobby windows, we had a clear view of Lake Ashi, and it was immediately obvious this is a hotel with an outstanding view—scenery you can only get from an elevated location. Our room’s balcony also faced Lake Ashi and had a comfortable table set and an open-air bath. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, so we made coffee right away and enjoyed it on the balcony with the complimentary fruit while relaxing together and taking in the lake view. There were two types of coffee. I appreciated that one was decaf—perfect for evening so caffeine wouldn’t affect sleep—while in the morning there was a richer option to help you wake up. It felt very thoughtful. The bathing setup was also excellent: there was an indoor shower room, so we didn’t have to worry about getting cold while washing up, and then we could simply enjoy soaking in the open-air bath out on the scenic balcony. The hot spring water felt wonderful; I soaked many times and my skin felt silky smooth. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious, but especially memorable was the meat: thick yet incredibly tender, with enough fat to be flavorful while still tasting light. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had meat that good before. The tableware was also beautifully chosen throughout, making each course visually enjoyable as well. The staff were all polite and attentive. One newer staff member seemed possibly mixed heritage; her explanations were sometimes a little hard to catch, but her sincere effort came through clearly and left a great impression. Although we only told them about our anniversary on check-in day, they not only prepared a celebratory message plate but also took photos for us at short notice and presented them to us at breakfast the next morning—it became a wonderful keepsake. The next morning, lake fog covered all of Lake Ashi’s surface, creating an incredibly beautiful, dreamlike scene. We made coffee again in our room and enjoyed it together on the balcony—it truly felt like a luxurious time.

The food was truly delicious! Not only dinner, but also the vegetables at breakfast were excellent. The restaurant where we enjoyed the welcome drink and the guests-only lounge were both very comfortable, and we had a wonderful time. The bath felt a little small, but it was clean and pleasant. We were impressed and would love to stay again.

This was my first trip to Hakone, and I stayed at this Hotel. The phone support and the front desk service were both very pleasant. For dinner, we chose the French cuisine; the portions were just right, and everything—from the dishes to the dessert—was delicious. For breakfast, we had a Japanese meal, and the dishes made with plenty of local ingredients made for a wonderful start to the day. On our way back, it was raining and I was traveling with my elderly mother, so I waited in the lobby until the last minute for our mountain bus—and ended up missing it. The staff noticed we were in trouble right away and suggested several alternative options, which allowed us to catch our flight home safely. Thanks to your outstanding hospitality in every respect, we had a truly enjoyable trip. The only disappointment this time was the weather, but I would love to come back and try again. I will also recommend this Hotel to my friends. Thank you very much.

The facilities, bath area, and Room were all clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. There was a great variety of food we enjoyed, along with many kinds of alcohol and drinks—it felt like a luxurious Business Hotel. The staff were very kind, and check-in and payment were smooth. The weather wasn’t great, but it was still a fun golf trip. The misty garden had an almost magical atmosphere and was lovely too.

This was our second stay, following last year. We stayed for two nights with four adults and our dog (a Yorkshire Terrier). The Room is spacious, so even a family of four can relax comfortably. The bedroom is also roomy—when we pushed the two beds together, there was still plenty of space for three people. The pet amenities were well stocked, and we had a very comfortable stay even with our dog. The kitchen is easy to use, and it’s convenient that almost everything you need is provided except seasonings. The refrigerator was pre-stocked with drinks such as wine, cup sake, craft beer, cider, and juice, as well as snacks and sweets—these thoughtful touches were much appreciated. One small disappointment was the coffee. Although there were four of us, there were only three coffee capsules; having one per person would be better. Also, we realized too late that coffee for the second day required advance request by the previous day, so we couldn’t receive it and ended up buying some from a vending machine. For a Multiple Night Stay, clearer guidance would be appreciated. The terrace feels private, and although it’s on the first floor, you can see Lake Ashi and the torii gate of Hakone Shrine through the trees—the location is excellent. Last year we noticed quite a lot of weeds in the garden area, but this time it was neatly maintained; we were happy to see that improvement. The terrace footbath was a bit too hot for us. Even at the lowest temperature setting it was still hot; we added water to adjust it but found it difficult to get just right. This may depend on the season and personal preference, but finer temperature control would be welcome. Once at a comfortable temperature, enjoying the footbath while feeling the evening breeze would be wonderful—and likely become one of our favorite moments unique to this Accommodation. The BBQ grill kept on the terrace is also easy to use, making casual BBQs another great feature. Overall, being able to spend time with family and our dog without worrying about others is what makes this place especially appealing. With well-equipped Facility features and amenities—and a relaxing atmosphere with Lake Ashi nearby—this is an Accommodation we’d love to return to again.

Having stayed with our dog at many luxury hotels in Japan and abroad, this was—without exaggeration—one of the very best stays we’ve ever had, easily competing for No. 1 or No. 2. If I were to compare it internationally, it was so exceptional that I genuinely couldn’t decide whether it surpasses the Manor at Capella Singapore. It was a stunning detached villa suite that stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s top luxury hotels. We stayed for two nights from 9/20 as a family of three with our dog. Because a typhoon was approaching, we arrived earlier than planned, but the staff handled everything politely and smoothly and escorted us to our room about two hours earlier than the standard check-in time. Before our stay, I read every review on Ikkyu, and it felt like many of the past concerns had been addressed. I was also impressed by how sincerely they seem to take guest feedback. Since this two-night stay cost around JPY 1,000,000, I was slightly worried about whether the experience would truly match the price—but the sense of exclusivity in Annex (No.100) exceeded all expectations. The dedicated parking space, an approximately 300㎡ private dog run, a two-story/two-bedroom layout, in-room dining available exclusively for this room, complimentary champagne and free drinks in the refrigerator, and private dining rooms when using the restaurant—all of these thoughtfully differentiated touches made perfect sense for what we paid. The meals were especially outstanding—clearly a level above any hotel we’ve stayed at before. The matsutake course and clay-pot rice were exquisite, and on our second night they prepared an entirely different menu from the first day. To truly experience RETONA at its best, I strongly recommend staying at least two nights—and if possible in this villa suite (though I’m sure their other rooms are wonderful as well). It became an unforgettable three days worthy of celebrating my daughter’s 12th birthday and our dog’s 6th birthday. We are deeply grateful to all staff members for their attentive support throughout—including their thoughtful email communication before arrival. If I may mention just one small request: there was a spider web on the ceiling above the sink area. We fully understand that insects are common given the lush natural setting—and it was something we could remove ourselves—but checking even higher areas would make everything even more perfect. Next time we will definitely return as a family to stay in the same room again in spring or summer to enjoy seasonal dishes in another season. This has become one of my favorite luxury hotels—thank you very much indeed.

We stayed as a group of 6 adults. First of all, the owner was very kind and considerate, even before our stay. Thank you so much! The plan included breakfast, which featured delicious items like bread, roast beef, fruits, and Hakone rusk provided in the room. The portions were generous and we were very satisfied. The bath was spacious, the room was clean, and we had an extremely comfortable stay. The sauna was also great! It would be nice if the issue with BS channels not being available and the difficulty in figuring out how to fill the bath could be improved, but other than that everything was perfect. It’s a wonderful place!

Five of us stayed together, and both the bedroom and living room were spacious, very clean, and extremely comfortable. Check-in was smooth as well! The amenities were well stocked, including loungewear, and it was very helpful to have plenty of provided tableware, cooking utensils, and seasonings. Above all, the sauna heated up to a high temperature in a relatively short time—it was fantastic! If I had to mention one thing, we would have loved one or two more relaxation chairs, but it was such a great Accommodation that it felt almost too good for the price during the Obon holiday period.

We stayed for one night with six people on a family trip. Based on the description on the site, we expected two people would be sleeping together on futons, but you provided a simple bed for one person, which was very helpful. We wanted to have a BBQ and contacted you in advance with various questions; you always replied quickly, which we really appreciated. However, the BBQ terrace has only limited roofing, so when it rained we couldn’t eat outside. (We moved the grill under the small covered area to cook and managed to eat at the indoor table.) Since mountain weather changes quickly, please keep this in mind if you’re planning a BBQ. There was plenty of oil, seasonings, and cutlery—very helpful! The nearest convenience store is about 5 minutes away by car, so we recommend buying everything at once. The building itself was clean, and the Onsen was spacious and wonderful! The Onsen was already filled at check-in and had that distinctive Onsen scent. There’s also a sauna area with an outdoor cooling space and a cold plunge pool, so you can fully enjoy it! Since towels are also used for the toilet and kitchen areas, it would be nice to have extra towels in addition to one per person. Overall, it was a very good Accommodation! We’d love to stay again if we have another opportunity!

For sightseeing around Hakone and Lake Ashi, the location is convenient. The building itself is a bit old, but it has an Onsen and the pricing is reasonable. I stayed with dinner and breakfast included, and the portions were very generous—I was completely full. On weekdays, it seems to be run by one person, but he was a friendly gentleman. Thank you for treating me to wine as well.

We stayed during Golden Week as a family of four. The Accommodation is new and the facilities are clean, so we had a fun and comfortable stay. One thing we noticed is that perhaps because part of the floor is heated, it would be nice to have indoor slippers. Also, there were many very fine fibers on the bath towels. They were washed cleanly, so it may happen during drying. In addition, the signal around the Accommodation was unstable, so we couldn’t check maps on our phones and it took quite a while to find the place. Since there are no signs, we should have taken screenshots or printed directions in advance. After arriving, we fully enjoyed the Onsen and BBQ, and it turned into a wonderful trip. The Hakone craft beer was delicious as well. Thank you very much.

The bath, the room, the sauna, the food, and all of the staff were outstanding. The goats were incredibly cute and so relaxing! My daughter was totally absorbed in feeding them and said on the way home that she definitely wants to stay again! We plan to visit again if we have the chance!

The Okinawa Fair and the tuna carving show were amazing! This was our second visit during summer vacation, and it was so delicious that we’d love for you to hold it again next year. The open-air bath in the Room was also very comfortable, and no matter how many times we visit in a year, we never get tired of it. The warm smiles and attentive hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff are so comforting and relaxing that every time we come, we find ourselves wanting to return again soon. We’ll be back before the end of the year—thank you very much.

The bar counter was wonderful, and we enjoyed many cocktails. When we shared our preferences, the bartender created drinks on the spot, making it a truly enjoyable experience. The champagne brunch we had been looking forward to was a luxurious moment with breathtaking views. We were able to relax at the bar during café time and in the Onsen until the 2:00 PM check-out, making for a very satisfying stay. We would love to visit again.

This property boasts a wonderful location where you can soak in the hot springs while gazing at Mt. Fuji. Located at Ubako Station, it is easily accessible by ropeway. The hotel also runs frequent shuttle buses, which was very convenient. You can also enjoy views of Mt. Fuji from the Japanese-style room, making for a relaxing and luxurious stay.

I was able to relax a lot again this time. It was a shame it rained, but I still managed to enjoy the open-air bath. Thank you very much for upgrading our room! Starting this visit, late check-out (1-hour extension: 3,300 yen) became available, and we used it right away. I’d like to use it again when we visit in December next time!

The building, Rooms, and all shared areas are stylish and spotless. The services and meals are excellent. There is nothing around the Hotel, so I was able to relax quietly in the in-room Onsen.

We stayed here on a trip with our dog, and the Room was exactly as advertised as dog-friendly. It was spotlessly clean, and we didn’t need to bring anything from home other than our dog’s food and leash. We could easily cook meals in the Room and eat whenever we liked, and everything was delicious. This was our second time using Rakuten STAY after Nikko, and we’d love to stay again.
