I stayed with my elderly mother, my niece who had returned from abroad, and my daughter. They were very kind and attentive to foreign guests, and they accommodated our food requests exactly as asked. We are truly grateful. Unfortunately, it rained heavily both days so we couldn’t do much sightseeing, but Hakone Shrine was within walking distance for a stroll. The next day the roads were closed and it was quite difficult, but the staff informed us early in the morning, which helped a lot and became a good memory for my nieces as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

The French cuisine here is delicious. The meat is especially tender and melts in your mouth. According to the sommelier, they put a great deal of effort into their meat dishes. The sommelier’s sense of humor made the experience even more enjoyable. I was able to buy butter from Oratche Farm! I’d be happy to see you again if we get the chance.

I’d been wanting to stay here someday, and it was a truly wonderful Room. The lighting had motion sensors, the facilities were barrier-free, and both loungewear and sleepwear (pajamas) were provided, making it very comfortable to spend time here. It was also nice to enjoy French cuisine again after a long time—it was delicious. If I had to mention a couple of points, it was sometimes hard to catch the staff’s explanations (in Japanese), and since the large public bath was set to 40°C, it felt a bit lukewarm; I wished the temperatures of the open-air bath and indoor bath could be adjusted separately. (It may be a healthy temperature setting.)

The food was truly delicious! Not only dinner, but also the vegetables at breakfast were excellent. The restaurant where we enjoyed the welcome drink and the guests-only lounge were both very comfortable, and we had a wonderful time. The bath felt a little small, but it was clean and pleasant. We were impressed and would love to stay again.

I’ve been staying here for over 20 years. Since retiring, I think I’ve been visiting a bit more often. I also enjoyed the renewed half-buffet breakfast. I’m planning to stay about two more times before the end of the year. As always, the staff were pleasant and welcoming, and I had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much. One request: while the croissants at the current half-buffet were delicious, I would be happy if you could also offer the larger ones you used to have.

This was my first stay, and I was able to spend such a fulfilling time that it hardly felt like just one night and two days. From the warm welcome upon arrival, everything was handled with great care, and the staff’s heartfelt hospitality left a strong impression. Throughout my stay, they paid attention to even the smallest details, and their service remained wonderful all the way through to the farewell at departure. Rather than feeling formal or routine, it truly felt like they valued each guest as an individual. The Room had a calm atmosphere, and best of all was the open-air bath attached to it. The luxury of being able to soak in the Onsen slowly whenever I wanted was exceptional—it felt so good that I wanted to go in again and again. Enjoying the open-air bath while taking in the surrounding garden and nature helped me forget everyday fatigue. Each dish was prepared with great care, and I could enjoy not only the flavors but also the presentation and sense of seasonality. The meal itself became one of the highlights of my trip—it was that satisfying. The overall atmosphere of this Ryokan is also wonderful. It is quiet and relaxing, and simply being inside made me feel naturally at ease. Everything is well maintained down to the smallest details, making it a perfect space for enjoying an escape from everyday life. Although it was a short stay of one night and two days, by checkout I felt surprisingly refreshed both physically and mentally—I was able to truly recover from my fatigue. This is a Ryokan where you can honestly think, “I want to stay here again.” If you are looking for Accommodation in Hakone, I highly recommend staying here at least once.

It had been a very long time since my last visit. The warm, homey atmosphere was just the same, and the Onsen water was as wonderful as ever. Lately I’ve mostly stayed at Accommodations with an Onsen in the Room, but I was reminded again how great Yunohana is—unchanged and truly special. I’ll be back again. The meals were delicious too.

The facilities, bath area, and Room were all clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. There was a great variety of food we enjoyed, along with many kinds of alcohol and drinks—it felt like a luxurious Business Hotel. The staff were very kind, and check-in and payment were smooth. The weather wasn’t great, but it was still a fun golf trip. The misty garden had an almost magical atmosphere and was lovely too.

This was our second stay, following last year. We stayed for two nights with four adults and our dog (a Yorkshire Terrier). The Room is spacious, so even a family of four can relax comfortably. The bedroom is also roomy—when we pushed the two beds together, there was still plenty of space for three people. The pet amenities were well stocked, and we had a very comfortable stay even with our dog. The kitchen is easy to use, and it’s convenient that almost everything you need is provided except seasonings. The refrigerator was pre-stocked with drinks such as wine, cup sake, craft beer, cider, and juice, as well as snacks and sweets—these thoughtful touches were much appreciated. One small disappointment was the coffee. Although there were four of us, there were only three coffee capsules; having one per person would be better. Also, we realized too late that coffee for the second day required advance request by the previous day, so we couldn’t receive it and ended up buying some from a vending machine. For a Multiple Night Stay, clearer guidance would be appreciated. The terrace feels private, and although it’s on the first floor, you can see Lake Ashi and the torii gate of Hakone Shrine through the trees—the location is excellent. Last year we noticed quite a lot of weeds in the garden area, but this time it was neatly maintained; we were happy to see that improvement. The terrace footbath was a bit too hot for us. Even at the lowest temperature setting it was still hot; we added water to adjust it but found it difficult to get just right. This may depend on the season and personal preference, but finer temperature control would be welcome. Once at a comfortable temperature, enjoying the footbath while feeling the evening breeze would be wonderful—and likely become one of our favorite moments unique to this Accommodation. The BBQ grill kept on the terrace is also easy to use, making casual BBQs another great feature. Overall, being able to spend time with family and our dog without worrying about others is what makes this place especially appealing. With well-equipped Facility features and amenities—and a relaxing atmosphere with Lake Ashi nearby—this is an Accommodation we’d love to return to again.

We have stayed with our dog at many luxury hotels in Japan and abroad, and this was honestly one of the very best—easily competing for No.1 or No.2. If I were to compare it overseas, it was so exceptional that I couldn’t decide which is better: this or the Manor at Capella Singapore. It was a superb detached villa suite that stands proudly alongside the world’s top luxury hotels. We stayed for two nights from 9/20 with three family members and our dog. Because a typhoon was approaching, we arrived early, but the staff handled everything politely and smoothly and escorted us to our Room about two hours earlier than usual. Before our stay, I read every Review on IKYU, and I felt that many of the points raised in the past had been improved. I was also impressed by how sincerely you take guests’ feedback to heart. Since this was a two-night stay costing around 1,000,000 yen, I was slightly concerned about whether the experience would truly match the price—but the sense of exclusivity in the detached Room (No.100) exceeded all expectations. A dedicated parking space, an approximately 300 m² private dog run, a two-story layout with two bedrooms, in-room dining available exclusively for this Room, complimentary champagne and free drinks in the refrigerator, private dining rooms when using the restaurant—these thoughtfully differentiated touches made perfect sense of the value. Most outstanding of all was the cuisine. It felt clearly a level above any Hotel we have stayed at before. The matsutake course and clay-pot rice were exquisite, and on the second day of our Multiple Night Stay you prepared an entirely different menu from day one. I truly believe RETONA is best experienced over at least two nights—and if possible specifically in this villa suite—so you can fully appreciate what makes it special (though I’m sure other Rooms are wonderful as well). It became an unforgettable three days worthy of celebrating my daughter’s 12th birthday and our dog’s 6th birthday. We are deeply grateful to all staff members for your warm hospitality throughout—including your attentive email support even before arrival. If I may mention just one small request: there was a spider web on the ceiling above the washbasin area. We fully understand that insects are common given such a nature-rich location—and it’s something we could remove ourselves—but checking higher areas as well would make everything even more perfect. Next time we will definitely return as a family to stay in the same Room in spring or summer—we’re already looking forward to enjoying seasonal dishes again under different conditions. This has become one of our favorite luxury hotels; thank you very much for everything.

It was a wonderful Accommodation. I got completely absorbed in the golf simulator and ended up swinging for over six hours.

We stayed as a group of 6 adults. First of all, the owner was very kind and considerate, even before our stay. Thank you so much! The plan included breakfast, which featured delicious items like bread, roast beef, fruits, and Hakone rusk provided in the room. The portions were generous and we were very satisfied. The bath was spacious, the room was clean, and we had an extremely comfortable stay. The sauna was also great! It would be nice if the issue with BS channels not being available and the difficulty in figuring out how to fill the bath could be improved, but other than that everything was perfect. It’s a wonderful place!

Five of us stayed together, and both the bedroom and living room were spacious, very clean, and extremely comfortable. Check-in was smooth as well! The amenities were well stocked, including loungewear, and it was very helpful to have plenty of provided tableware, cooking utensils, and seasonings. Above all, the sauna heated up to a high temperature in a relatively short time—it was fantastic! If I had to mention one thing, we would have loved one or two more relaxation chairs, but it was such a great Accommodation that it felt almost too good for the price during the Obon holiday period.

We stayed for one night with six people on a family trip. Based on the description on the site, we expected two people would be sleeping together on futons, but you provided a simple bed for one person, which was very helpful. We wanted to have a BBQ and contacted you in advance with various questions; you always replied quickly, which we really appreciated. However, the BBQ terrace has only limited roofing, so when it rained we couldn’t eat outside. (We moved the grill under the small covered area to cook and managed to eat at the indoor table.) Since mountain weather changes quickly, please keep this in mind if you’re planning a BBQ. There was plenty of oil, seasonings, and cutlery—very helpful! The nearest convenience store is about 5 minutes away by car, so we recommend buying everything at once. The building itself was clean, and the Onsen was spacious and wonderful! The Onsen was already filled at check-in and had that distinctive Onsen scent. There’s also a sauna area with an outdoor cooling space and a cold plunge pool, so you can fully enjoy it! Since towels are also used for the toilet and kitchen areas, it would be nice to have extra towels in addition to one per person. Overall, it was a very good Accommodation! We’d love to stay again if we have another opportunity!

For sightseeing around Hakone and Lake Ashi, the location is convenient. The building itself is a bit old, but it has an Onsen and the pricing is reasonable. I stayed with dinner and breakfast included, and the portions were very generous—I was completely full. On weekdays, it seems to be run by one person, but he was a friendly gentleman. Thank you for treating me to wine as well.

The view from the Room was wonderful. We had a clear view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji. The view from the main building’s Onsen was also great. All the staff welcomed us with warm smiles and provided pleasant service. We would love to stay again.

We stayed during Golden Week as a family of four. The Accommodation is new and the facilities are clean, so we had a fun and comfortable stay. One thing we noticed is that perhaps because part of the floor is heated, it would be nice to have indoor slippers. Also, there were many very fine fibers on the bath towels. They were washed cleanly, so it may happen during drying. In addition, the signal around the Accommodation was unstable, so we couldn’t check maps on our phones and it took quite a while to find the place. Since there are no signs, we should have taken screenshots or printed directions in advance. After arriving, we fully enjoyed the Onsen and BBQ, and it turned into a wonderful trip. The Hakone craft beer was delicious as well. Thank you very much.

We stayed here during Silver Week as a family of four. The Japanese-Western style Room had been nicely renovated, and considering we were able to stay for under 10,000 yen per person, it was excellent. The breakfast bread was also delicious. The service was polite and attentive.

We stayed with our 3-year-old child. Since we were in the LOCA THE CLASS Room, there was a sauna in the basement and a large bath that could fit about 4–5 people. Including the post-bath relaxation area, it was very spacious and thoughtfully designed. It was great that even with a child, we could bathe comfortably. There was also a refrigerator in the changing room, stocked with plenty of bottled water. It was very helpful to be able to drink cold water immediately after bathing or using the sauna without having to go up to the living room on the first floor. We didn’t use them, but there were also powdered drinks provided for before and after the sauna. The living room was spacious as well, and there were two bedrooms. The Japanese-style Room had a tatami area that became almost full once two futons were laid out, which made it feel safe and comfortable for our child at bedtime. On the other hand, there was one disappointing incident during our stay. Early in the morning, the fire alarm suddenly went off with a loud siren throughout the Accommodation. We were later told it was due to an accidental operation in another Room, but it took about an hour for security staff to check and reset everything. During that time, the alarm kept sounding continuously, so we evacuated with our child to a relatively quiet terrace. Afterward, an operator contacted us to confirm what had happened and asked whether we would still be able to make checkout on time. Since it overlapped with breakfast and getting ready in the morning, we explained it would be difficult and they extended our checkout by about 30 minutes. We appreciate their consideration; however, we had hoped to spend a relaxing morning (including enjoying another bath), so that part was unfortunate. I also saw other Reviews on different sites mentioning issues related to fire alarms. As it seems many guests come from overseas as well, I would appreciate it if you could consider measures to prevent recurrence—such as providing clearer instructions at check-in on how to handle fire alarms. Overall, both the Facility and Room itself were extremely comfortable—this is a wonderful Accommodation that is easy for families to enjoy.
