We stayed here as a couple.\n\nWe had been interested in this Accommodation for some time, and after actually staying, it exceeded our expectations. Above all, the milky-white free-flowing Onsen from the source was outstanding, and soaking at a leisurely pace felt truly luxurious. We also enjoyed the private open-air bath together without any worries, which became a wonderful memory.\n\nBoth dinner and breakfast featured carefully prepared dishes that made the most of local ingredients, and we were completely satisfied with both the taste and portion sizes. Everything at both meals was delicious, and we were impressed to enjoy freshly made dishes served piping hot.\n\nThe staff’s hospitality was warm, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout our stay, making it very comfortable. The Room was clean and had a calm atmosphere, allowing us to slowly unwind from everyday fatigue.\n\nThe Onsen, cuisine, and hospitality were all excellent—we were satisfied in every way. I stayed here on a solo trip. It is a small Accommodation, but every detail is thoughtfully cared for, and I had a very comfortable stay. Ikebana arrangements were displayed throughout wherever my eyes fell, and I could really feel the Accommodation’s hospitality. The meals—especially the vegetables—were delicious, and since they were served in my Room, I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I left the Accommodation sincerely thinking, “I want to stay here again!” Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful stay, exactly as we had hoped. The Room was very clean, every dish at both dinner and breakfast was delicious, and the private Onsen was fantastic—we were completely satisfied. Some oil from the stone-grilled Tochigi Wagyu accidentally splashed onto my skirt, but when I asked for advice, they kindly prepared a tray with mild detergent and towels and explained how to care for it properly. It was a huge help—thank you. If I had one small request, it would be nice to have simple snacks such as nuts when enjoying drinks in the lounge (a Ryokan we stayed at in Nagano recently offered this, so that may be why I noticed), but we truly appreciate being able to enjoy complimentary drinks. A highly recommended Ryokan.

We stayed for one night in Yayoi in July with our dog as a couple. We’ve stayed at many dog-friendly Accommodations, and this is the best one for us. I especially love sulfur Onsen, and while other dog-friendly Accommodations we’ve stayed at had Onsen, none had sulfur springs. Here, there is also a free-flowing natural hot spring bath in the Room, so we didn’t have to leave our dog waiting to go to a public bath. Even though many places don’t allow dogs in the bathroom area, this Accommodation provided a dog bathtub, shampoo, and towels—I've never stayed anywhere so thoughtful. Our senior large dog kept coming to watch us enjoy the Onsen with curiosity. Just walking through the spilled water from the free-flowing sulfur spring at the washing area turned his rough, cracked paw pads into smooth ones—just like the Reviews said. It’s truly an amazing Onsen. The Imabari bath towel after bathing was fluffy and very comfortable. Since it was a No Meals Included stay, we mainly brought takeout from Nasu restaurants. We also bought Nasu cheese and sausages along with drinks and snacks, and picked up bread and yogurt for breakfast at a nearby shop before heading to the Accommodation. With the best sulfur Onsen, delicious food and drinks from Nasu, a quiet setting, we were able to relax completely. Our dog also seemed very satisfied with the cool highland climate, peaceful greenery-filled surroundings, and private feel without running into other dogs—he looked truly relaxed. All of us were soothed by both nature and the Onsen and went home extremely happy. My husband said he wants to come again in winter too—so we’ll be making another Reservation. It was a wonderful Accommodation where we could relax in peace, like staying at a private villa with only two Rooms. The chef’s cuisine was truly delicious—everything handmade with creative touches using local ingredients, beautifully presented and easy to enjoy. We were completely satisfied and enjoyed every dish. The staff also shared lots of great recommendations in Nasu, including tasty bakeries, drinks, and sightseeing spots, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. There was an alcoholic drink made with Tochiotome strawberries—I've forgotten the name, but I’d like to look for it next time I visit Nasu.

We visited as a couple with our preschool-aged child and small dog. We’ve stayed at about ten dog-friendly Accommodations so far, but this was the most satisfying trip we’ve ever had! You were kind to both our child and our dog, and it became more than just a place to stay—it became part of our wonderful travel memories. Our child is a very picky eater, and we always struggle with meals while traveling, but you listened to our requests and specially prepared a menu for us. We were truly touched—both sorry for the trouble and deeply grateful. It helped us so much. The dog run also had soft, fluffy grass, and our dog happily ran around every day. It made us want to live in Nasu. Highly recommended Accommodation! Thank you very much!!

This was my first stay. The corner Room had a great view, and everything was clean, so I had a very comfortable time. The only thing I noticed was the in-room bath. I asked the staff how to use it and tried filling it with the hot spring water right away. Since the temperature is close to 60°C, it was extremely hot at first, which I could confirm. However, when I tried filling it again later in the evening to enjoy a long soak, warm water did not come out easily. By then it was after 10:00 p.m., and I didn’t want to trouble the front desk, so I didn’t call. Another guest who uses added water mentioned experiencing the same situation: only a small amount came out from the spout little by little, and it felt like it took quite a long time to fill the tub. In the end, I gave up on using the in-room bath and used the large public bath instead, which was very relaxing. Other than that, everything was excellent—the staff were wonderful and kindly spoke to me, the meals were satisfying, and cleanliness throughout was great. With such beautiful views during this season of fresh greenery, I’d like to look forward to enjoying the in-room bath next time as well. I apologize for asking this as a request, but I would appreciate it if you could check on how well hot water fills into the tub. Personally, I was very satisfied with the hinoki bath.

Thank you very much for your attentive hospitality from our arrival to the very end! All of the staff were truly warm and welcoming, and it was deeply relaxing. The Onsen was excellent, and both the open-air bath in our Room and the private open-air bath had breathtaking views. The meals were generous in portion, everything was delicious, and we felt so happy. We were amazed by how much food there was, and thanks to the service of bringing dessert to our Room, we were able to enjoy everything right to the end. We left feeling warm in both body and mind.

We drove from Chiba. As an older couple, we chose this Onsen Accommodation so we could leave at a relaxed pace and truly unwind. It was a wonderful place that exceeded our expectations. The detached Room, the bath, and the meals were all outstanding. The meal included an impressive number of dishes, but each portion was thoughtfully sized, so even we were able to finish everything. The next day, we enjoyed the gentle Onsen three times and headed home unhurriedly. This is now on our list of places we definitely want to visit again.

The building isn’t very new. Some parts of the floor feel a bit soft, so please watch your step. I ended up checking in late, but when I called to let them know and shared my expected arrival time, they waited in front of the Ryokan to welcome me. The dining staff were also courteous, and the food was delicious. The Onsen uses a rotating schedule, but it’s available 24 hours a day, so you can enjoy it multiple times. The hallways are quite winding, so it’s easy to lose your sense of direction. The price is reasonable as well, so I’d like to stay again—next time without being late and with more time to relax.

This was my third stay, and once again the hospitality from the moment we arrived made me certain it would be a wonderful trip. The welcome drinks, fruit, and tea-time sweets always make my heart race with excitement, no matter how many times I visit. Everything in the property feels new and impeccably clean. The Room’s semi-open-air bath and private sauna are especially outstanding. I travel each time with my elderly mother, and being able to relax whenever we like without worrying about others is truly a luxury—an irreplaceable experience. Both the dinner course and the Japanese breakfast featured an abundance of seasonal local ingredients, and every dish was exquisite. After dinner, spending time in the lounge with drinks and snacks was pure bliss. My previous requests were clearly shared among the staff, and their thoughtful attention made for a truly heartwarming stay. There is no open-air bath in the large public bath area, but the milky white sulfur Onsen warms you through to your core. I consider other Hotels as well, but in the end I always find myself drawn back to Mori Shun no Kago Hewitt Resort. It is a one-of-a-kind Accommodation that I will definitely return to again.

This is a dog-friendly Hotel, and both the Room and the dog run were clean. The bath was also excellent, so we had a very comfortable stay. The late-night tantanmen was delicious as well! Above all, all of the staff were very pleasant. In particular, the staff during meals and the chef who made the tantanmen were wonderful, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

We stayed on August 1–2, 2026! The Room (depending on the Plan, I assume) felt like it could have been a bit deeper and wider, but it matched the photos online. This was our first stay at Taoya as a family of four, including a second-year university student and a second-year high school student. We loved the all-inclusive free drinks (including alcohol) throughout our stay, plus the welcome dessert (the mini Mont Blanc was freshly piped on the spot). At dinner buffet, there were shake salads, freshly grilled and carved steak, and each table had a small burner for mini hot pots. There were also pasta and pizza, and even late-night snacks included in the Plan—everything was excellent in both taste and portion size. Breakfast was also buffet-style with build-your-own rice bowls, grilled fish using the tabletop burner, and freshly baked mini apple pies brought around to each table (they’re seriously piping hot, so be careful when eating). Our whole family was very satisfied. At dinner one night while we were taking a selfie with an outstretched arm, a staff member kindly offered to take our photo—an extra touch that made us even happier. The location was great too: easy access to Momiji-dani Suspension Bridge and the Nasu Highlands area, and Nikko is just over an hour away by expressway. Since it’s in the mountains we were worried about insects, but they didn’t bother us at all—we didn’t even encounter any during an evening walk (to the nearest suspension bridge), at the open-air bath on the 4th floor, or in our Room. The only insect we really noticed was dragonflies flying around the courtyard; little kids seemed to enjoy having them land on their fingers. Personally, I especially liked the courtyard bonfire! Thank you very much—we’d love to come again if we have another chance. (*Menus and types of insects may vary depending on season and timing.)

We visited with great anticipation, having heard this Accommodation has a 150-year history. From the warm welcome at arrival, everyone greeted us with smiles, and our expectations immediately rose. We were escorted to our Room by a staff member, and the attentive service was remarkably detailed—something rare these days. The building has been beautifully renovated. Relaxing in the lounge surrounded by nature while looking out over the clear stream of the Hoki River was wonderful, and our conversations flowed easily. The facilities and our Room were spacious and spotless, and the gentle scent of incense was delightful. Every staff member we passed had a soothing smile. Dinner was carefully prepared, and the thoughtfully chosen tableware made it feel even more delicious. My mother and aunt—both very particular about food—praised it highly as well; we were truly impressed by the flavors of the ingredients themselves. The semi-open-air bath in our Room and the public baths felt silky soft on the skin, so we enjoyed them again and again. It seemed to promote perspiration; we warmed up from deep within, and all fatigue melted away. There were also table tennis, massages, and more available to enjoy—the service is thorough in every way. We also heard that for a Multiple Night Stay, different dishes are served each day. After dinner, we took a walk along the Hoki River and saw fireflies drifting through an enchanting scene—it felt magical. This became an unforgettable memory of this Accommodation. On the drive home we were already saying, “Let’s come back for a Multiple Night Stay in another season.” At a time when many places are simplifying their services, we are truly grateful to have found such a wonderful Accommodation with such attentive hospitality. We will recommend it to friends and acquaintances as well. Thank you very much.

I stayed here twice before it was upgraded. Back then, it felt like a traditional Onsen Accommodation with promotions like “Junretsu is coming!” and “We’re putting on a music show!” The building and Facilities were old, the toilet was cramped, and although it seemed to be cleaned, there were signs of age throughout. This time I stayed in the main building. The Room was clean, there was a fully equipped shower room, and overall usability had improved. Even though the structure is old, the interior has been renovated. Compared to before, the meals were delicious and offered plenty of Tochigi specialties such as garlic chive soba noodles, gyoza dumplings, and yuba (tofu skin). I will visit again.

Wearing a hat in the misty drizzle, I will never forget being able to fully enjoy the beautiful mountain stream and its free-flowing Onsen straight from the source. The abundant volume of hot water, like a geyser, was truly the height of luxury and made for an exceptional holiday. However, it was disappointing that some young people got heavily drunk in the river bath late at night and were shouting loudly, but when I reported it you responded immediately, which I appreciated. I was deeply impressed by your dedication to maintaining order at this traditional Ryokan even at the expense of sleep. I understand there are limits to judging guests in advance, but I feel it would be better to provide thorough reminders beforehand. Sorry for my blunt suggestion. I know it must be difficult with so many different kinds of guests. Still, I thought that filtering out preventable trouble as much as possible would also make things easier for your staff. After all, I want to enjoy this beautiful stream-side hot spring source in peace—and that tranquility is what makes the wonderful cuisine and Room truly shine.

There were lots of adorable cats, and they played with us using toys! When we left the Room door slightly open, they came in, which was incredibly soothing. We also had a child with us, and they happily played with the toys, so we’re really glad we came. Even our daughter, who usually spends her time playing games, didn’t play even once—it turned into a fulfilling day and we were very satisfied! She said she wants to come again, so we’ll check our schedule and plan to visit again.

The bath was wonderful. The amenities, such as lotion, were well stocked, which was great. The Room was stylish, and the coffee was delicious.

This was our second stay, following last year, for our once-a-year family trip—one of the biggest events of the year for us. The kids, grandma, and we were all satisfied again this year. The children even asked to come back here again next year. The Hotel staff are kind, and the building is designed to be easy for seniors to get around, so it’s an Accommodation we can bring them to with peace of mind. We’d love to visit again.

This was my second visit, following my stay last autumn. The staff are pleasant, and the meals—vegetable-focused—suit me very well at my age. The tableware is also beautiful. The bath was wonderful too, with a pleasantly silky feel to the water. As I was staying with my elderly mother, a Ryokan of this size is ideal. The Hasami-yaki rice bowls in the shop are so cute that I end up buying something every time. I’d love to stay again in autumn. Thank you very much.
