It was excellent. I look forward to staying again next time.

Considering the price, I was satisfied. The meals were also delicious. I also appreciated having a large public bath.

The staff were very pleasant. The Facility is old, but it was well cleaned and felt very clean. I was also happy that body towels were provided. The Japanese-Western style room was spacious, and I was able to relax comfortably. There is also parking inside the building, which was convenient.

Located right in front of the station, offering the best location for train users. Thank you for upgrading my single to a twin Room. I had a very comfortable stay.

I’m from Chiba Prefecture. I love Kawayu Onsen and have visited many times. There are high-, medium- (open-air), and low-temperature baths, and every one feels wonderful. During Silver Week, I really wanted my elderly mother to experience this onsen, so we traveled together from Chiba for 3 nights and 4 days. She had said she couldn’t travel anymore, and although I persuaded her to come, she ended up loving the onsen and was truly happy we made the trip. She also ate well and seemed to regain her energy. Thank you for accommodating our requests when I left a note at the time of booking regarding the room location. It was an unforgettable, wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

Recommended by a gourmet friend, I stayed at this accommodation. Having lived in Eastern Hokkaido before, I had visited the surrounding area often but was not very familiar with Lake Kussharo. Curious about the place, I decided to visit and was immediately impressed by the stunning mountain views from the lodge. The rare snowfall for this region added to its charm this year. The experience of checking in via canoe or snowshoe from Lake Kussharo was truly memorable. The accommodation building featured facilities such as a sauna, cold bath, and barrel bath. It was delightful to cool off while enjoying the snowy scenery after using the sauna. For the first time, I also experienced tending a fireplace with firewood, which allowed me to spend mindful and relaxing moments. The meals were Chinese-inspired cuisine and absolutely delicious! The chef skillfully prepared luxurious ingredients like abalone and shark fin for an unforgettable dining experience. Thank you for kindly preparing additional mapo tofu as well—it was fantastic! Breakfast was equally exceptional. While having dinner, it started snowing outside; we appreciated how staff thoughtfully cleared snow just before we returned to our room in the accommodation building. Although it would be nice if improvements could be made regarding some minor points—such as whether or not the baths are onsen or addressing slight odors in rooms with toilets and showers—the overall experience far outweighed these small concerns. It left such an impression that I ended up making a summer reservation before leaving! This place is truly remarkable—I look forward to visiting again during another season for more unique experiences. Thank you so much for providing such precious memories!

I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days with my grown son. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, but SANSUI stands out for its exceptional balance of “closeness to nature,” “freedom during the stay,” and “quality of the setting.” It felt like a rare Accommodation where you don’t get tired even on a longer stay. Bringing our own ingredients, cooking with the provided tableware and tools, and enjoying freshly brewed coffee while looking out over Lake Kussharo and the forest was truly an experience of “staying as if you live there.” The sauna and outdoor Onsen were perfectly arranged in both temperature and flow, and being surrounded by natural sounds allowed both body and mind to fully unwind. At night, the starry sky and the flicker of the campfire were breathtaking. My husband and son thoroughly enjoyed canoeing, and each of us was able to spend time with nature at our own pace. The owner maintains an ideal sense of distance—quietly supportive only when needed—respecting privacy while providing reassurance. The philosophy of the Accommodation is consistent down to every detail, and I felt a deep professionalism in their approach that never interferes with guests’ experiences. The provided shampoo and conditioner from a Hokkaido brand were also excellent—I liked them so much that I bought them as soon as I got home. This is a place where nature’s stillness, the presence of the building, and thoughtful management are beautifully in harmony, making me genuinely want to return in another season.

Tucked away in a small forest in the rolling hills of Hokkaido, this Accommodation stands all on its own. It features a beautiful exterior and a spacious garden with an English-style landscape. From the large windows of the wood-scented guest rooms, you can take in both the garden and the starry sky. Through the windows of the open-ceiling dining room, we were thrilled to see Ezo squirrels come by for a meal! Above all, the food was absolutely outstanding. It made us think deeply about food and was truly educational as well. The carefully chosen background music softly playing from BOSE speakers matched our taste perfectly and made for a wonderful time. When it’s time to light the wood-burning stove in the dining room, we want to come back again. Honestly, this is an Accommodation we’d like to keep secret—but we hope many others can share this same happiness! We’re also grateful to the wonderful owner couple.

The place was very clean, and we had a comfortable stay! Having a Hotel at a roadside station is really convenient! The food at the restaurant was delicious, but I wish there were discounted prices for guests.

I stayed solo. The room was spacious and very clean, so I was able to relax and rest well. As the property also hosts weddings, the front desk service in particular was pleasant and professional. I booked a stay with breakfast (mini scallop rice bowl), but it wasn’t quite enough for me, so next time I’d like to stay with the Japanese set meal breakfast.

Right in front of Lake Kussharo—an unbeatable location. Rera is built diagonally in front of Fre, so you may be a bit aware of each other’s presence, and I did wonder what it would feel like if someone walked by while I was in the bath. The view from the second floor is simply stunning. The ingredients for the meals are luxurious and delicious, but unfortunately the wine selection didn’t match our taste (it would have been nice if at least the grape varieties were listed). Despite the overall great sense of style, there were some everyday-looking items like hand soap placed in the washroom, which slightly took away from the atmosphere. There was a faint damp smell on the towels, and the indoor slippers felt too ordinary—disposable ones might actually be better.

The Room had a stylish monochrome look and was wonderful. The amenities were well stocked, and the shampoo and conditioner were great. The toothbrush was also comfortable to use and felt far too high-quality to be disposable. The duvet was fluffy and very comfortable. Since I checked in using the app this time, I couldn’t pay the parking fee at check-in. When I tried to pay at check-out, no one was at the front desk, so I had to wait for a while, which was a downside. It’s a lovely Hotel, so I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A place I definitely want to visit again! A quiet, secluded inn in the forest that attracts mature guests. Every meal was delicious, and the timing of each course was perfect. I would love to visit during the snowy season.

I booked because the Hotel is renovated, offers free parking, and includes a complimentary breakfast. The self-service amenities unique to an unmanned Hotel were thoughtfully provided down to the smallest details. When I went to the microwave area to warm up the rice sandwich hanging outside my Room, there were paper plates and chopsticks, as well as towels for guests on a Multiple Night Stay. In the Room, there were mint cookies, mint tea, mint soap, and mint bath salts; even the breakfast hand towel had a mint scent—and the shampoo and mist were also mint. The in-Room amenities were stylish, and the French Bed was extremely comfortable. The Moderate Twin had a large sink and bathtub (no separate washing area), and both the table set and closet space were very convenient. In addition to the toiletries, an extension cord was provided as well, so I didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. That said, perhaps because the door is thin, voices from inside Rooms can be heard in the hallway. There was also some operating noise from what seemed like an air conditioner or similar equipment. Those were my only concerns—overall I was very satisfied to enjoy such attentive service and a refreshing “all-mint” stay at this price. I would like to stay again.

First stay. Everything was average, neither good nor bad. I used the onsen late at night and early in the morning, and it was empty, so I had it all to myself. The water temperature was perfect, and I was very satisfied. It was disappointing that there was no shop and the selection of souvenirs was limited.

The Accommodation offered convenient access in all directions, delicious meals, and excellent value for money. Recommended if you don’t mind that the Room does not have a private toilet or washbasin. The only drawback was that the Wi-Fi was not provided by the Facility, but via an external free Wi-Fi service (with a time limit). If that doesn’t bother you either, we recommend it.

While the building and Facility are showing their age, they are well maintained and there are no issues. 　The desk light is dimmable, so it should be fine for using a laptop as well. 　The service from the front desk and the staff at the breakfast venue was pleasant.

The female front desk staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Even after breakfast, they kindly said “Have a nice day” to each guest, which made me feel warm and happy. There are many convenience stores and restaurants around the hotel, so the location is excellent. The parking lot is paid, but I was able to park right in front of the hotel. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay here again.

I arrived after 6:00 PM and checked in at a different location. The soup curry there was outstanding. Made with local vegetables and meat slowly simmered to perfection. Anyway, it was delicious. I went back another day to eat it again, but it was closed—too bad. The Accommodation is a standard share house, but I soaked in Kawayu Onsen using the free hot spring voucher and relieved my fatigue. If I go to the eastern Hokkaido area again, I’d like to stay here again. More than anything, I want to eat that soup curry again.
