This Accommodation overlooks a dam lake and the surrounding forest. All you see is nature—no signs of people in the landscape. There is an open, panoramic bath. With a roof and glass doors that can be closed, it may not be a true open-air bath in the strict sense, but it is very comfortable. All-inclusive, including draft beer after bathing. There’s a great selection of quality alcohol, and plenty of snacks as well. You’re free to take them back to your Room. I like their generosity. It’s perfect for an easygoing stay-in retreat. The Room isn’t overly large, but the toilet and washbasin area are spacious enough that it doesn’t feel cramped. Dining in a booth draped with long noren curtains while looking out at the scenery is truly gourmet dining in every sense of the word. The staff seem few in number, but everything runs efficiently with no wasted movement. Alcohol here is also free-flowing—it feels great. It’s quiet at night. At checkout, there was naturally nothing to pay at the counter—clean and simple—and I left thinking how much fun it was. My rating is subjective: I gave “value for money” a 3 (as expected for the price).

From arrival by car to departure, we had a very pleasant stay. All the staff were cheerful and very kind, and the meals were excellent. When we left by car, it was especially memorable that they kept waving until we were out of sight. We would definitely like to stay again.

The Accommodation’s calm atmosphere, the cuisine, and the baths were all wonderful, but what impressed me most was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. Everyone we spoke with combined deep knowledge with warm, attentive service, making our stay truly comfortable. I initially wondered if this trip might be a bit luxurious for traveling with my three underage sons, but they seemed to experience what true quality means, and I am now wholeheartedly satisfied.

From the moment we arrived, the parking guidance, check-in, shop, and breakfast venue staff were all very welcoming, and their smiles and service made our stay truly comfortable. The Room was also clean and well maintained. We also appreciated the complimentary beer and ice cream after bathing. Thank you very much.

We stayed in a river-view room with a private open-air bath. Everything was outstanding, from the hospitality, open-air bath, and meals to the view from the room, the fresh air and scents, cleanliness, and safety. We have often stayed at hotels in the past, but this ryokan helped us rediscover the unique charm of a traditional Japanese inn. It was a wonderful stay where we could truly relax. We would love to visit again.

This was my first stay. It was quiet and very relaxing. The room was wonderful, and the meals were excellent. I enjoyed them at a leisurely pace in my room. The furnishings on display are beautiful—it feels like a museum. I also appreciated being shown another room. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I’d love to visit again. It couldn’t have been more comfortable. Warm and kind, with just the right amount of distance—truly relaxing from the heart. So this is what hospitality is. The staff’s teamwork was wonderful, and somehow it felt like coming home. Making my own onsen egg was fun, too. We stayed in a special room; it was spacious and excellent, with a massage chair as well. My family and I even said we should have stayed one more night. We were also able to use the new lounge called Waraku. After the hot springs, we could relax in our yukata at Waraku while enjoying drinks and light snacks.

I stayed here about 10 years ago and had always hoped to come back someday! After being transferred for work and moving to the Hokuriku area, I was finally able to return as I’d wished. As always, we received a warm welcome from the moment we arrived. My memory is a bit hazy, but I feel like the restaurant may have been renovated!! After soaking in the hot spring, my skin felt silky smooth; I warmed up from the core and slept very well! The crab miso from the optional red snow crab add-on was unbelievably delicious—I was truly impressed!

A trip for a couple in our mid-60s: about 2 hours from Tokyo to Kanazawa by Shinkansen, then around a 15-minute walk from the station to the inn. From the warm and attentive welcome, we were served tea in the tea room before being shown to our room. The room was a modern 90 m² space. We were told that even the bathwater is brought in from a hot spring. For in-room dining, the kitchen is connected directly to the dining area in the room, so once everything was ready, we simply went there and enjoyed each dish. There was no need to move around at all, and we didn’t encounter other guests during our stay. We were truly impressed by the hospitality of all the staff. Nothing unpleasant at all—just a wonderfully happy stay. The next day, we walked to Kenrokuen Garden and Higashi Chaya District for sightseeing, then headed home from Kanazawa Station. Our only request: there were so many dishes that it was difficult to finish everything, and it was hard to pace ourselves without knowing how far along we were—so if possible, we would be happy to receive a menu after the meal as well. Thank you very much.

The bath, the meals, and the hospitality were all perfect. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

A clean Room and a spacious large public bath. The breakfast was delicious and enjoyable as well. I only regret that I arrived early, so I could have relaxed more.

The meals were truly outstanding. The sake pairings were also excellent. This is an Accommodation I definitely want to return to for the first time in a while.

The room had a wonderful view and was spacious. In the morning, we could watch the sunrise, and the lake looked absolutely beautiful. Dinner was served in a private room, so we could relax. Each dish in the three-tiered meal was delicious, and we also enjoyed the Noto beef. The shampoo bar and hair dryer bar in the bath area were great, and there was a good selection of drinks in the lounge as well. We would love to visit again.

This was our fifth stay in two consecutive years (we also visited 12 and 25 years ago, haha). The Room was clean, the meals were delicious, and we especially enjoyed the extra-ordered red ika somen. We also loved the welcome chestnut steamed yokan. We had one from a famous confectionery in Kyoto the day before, but this one suited our taste better. We bought some at the shop on our way home. Thank you very much for upgrading our Room as well. As we were leaving, the proprietress kindly said, “Please come again,” so we hope to visit again next year. Thank you very much.

This was our first time staying overnight at Kokorian. The room had a spacious layout with a Western-style room, a Japanese-style room, and a separate bed area, and the bedding was very comfortable. The bath was in the room so we could use it anytime, but since check-out was at 10:00, I felt it was a bit of a shame—if it were 11:00 or 12:00, we could have enjoyed another relaxing soak in the morning. Dinner was a Kaga cuisine course with beautifully refined flavors and rich dashi throughout; we were completely satisfied. Breakfast also offered many dishes, and both my husband and I enjoyed it very much. My husband rarely gives compliments, but he said, “Let’s come again!” We were able to relax in the hot springs for the first time in a while, and we are grateful for Kokorian’s warm hospitality.

As often seen on social media, the first floor of the hotel has a charming retro atmosphere, with Kutani ware and stained-glass windows. We stayed in a Basic Twin room, and it was spacious with a sofa as well. Since we tend to get tired from going around during our trip, we especially appreciated how quiet the entire hotel was—it made for a truly relaxing stay. We stayed multiple nights, and complimentary water and tea were provided. The breakfast also offered so many side dishes that we didn’t get tired of it even two days in a row. All of the staff were pleasant and welcoming, which made us feel very warm and cared for. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

A seaside ryokan with a stunning orange sunset over the Sea of Japan. The fresh sashimi boat platter was more than we could finish, and the grilled nodoguro on a ceramic plate was also delicious. The room, bath, and facilities were all clean and excellent. Next time, I’d like to stay again during the Echizen crab season. Thank you for seeing us off and for the souvenir!

We stayed with a group of five. One of us was pregnant and had a seafood allergy. Thank you for kindly preparing special meals for her. Thank you also for arranging a birthday cake and for the wonderful photos.

After dinner, when we stepped outside, it was pitch-dark—only the sounds of insects and the flowing river. The mountain view wrapped in morning mist was truly beautiful, and this Accommodation was incredibly relaxing. Every time, I enjoy looking for a Hotel with Rooms that make my family say “Wow!”—and this time, of course, they did. Seeing the exterior, they said they never expected such a beautiful Room (laugh). Before our stay, we received a phone call about road closures and allergies; everyone was so kind that even before arriving, I already wanted to come back. The meals also reflected the cook’s kindness—everything served warm was freshly made and delicious. We couldn’t finish everything and ended up leaving some of the kamameshi rice. They kindly offered to make rice balls for us, but we were truly too full so we declined. It was very tasty, but there were really so many dishes that if upgrading meant slightly smaller portions and perhaps one more type of sashimi instead, that would be wonderful. The bath was also great, but the shower position was too high, and I wished there had been cold water available after getting out. If it were closer to home, it’s an Accommodation I’d want to visit every year.

From the moment we arrived until we departed, every moment was comfortable and truly luxurious. We were delighted with everything—the atmosphere, the room, the bath, and the meals—but above all, the attentive hospitality and thoughtful care from all of the staff made us want to return again. I am left-handed, and at dinner on the first night I moved my chopstick rest myself. Then at breakfast the next morning, my chopstick rest had been set up for a left-handed guest, which truly moved me...! Thank you so much for noticing even such a small detail.
