Because the property is operated by a small team, there were a few minor things I noticed, but the meals were delicious and served in just the right portions, and I was able to enjoy the bath to my satisfaction with a Reservation. I’d love to come back in autumn to see the fall foliage.

The cuisine, Room, Onsen, and service were all excellent. It truly made us want to come back! At the end of our summer vacation, we made wonderful memories here and felt motivated to work hard again. We have stayed at other Accommodations in Ikaho several times, but Kogure is the best. Please continue your warm hospitality and bring comfort to many more guests.

The staff’s wonderful smiles, their kind and attentive service to my mother who travels with me, delicious cuisine that delights all five senses, and an Onsen you can enjoy as much as you like whenever you like—everything about this Accommodation is consistently excellent, so we keep coming back. The Rooms are clean and comfortable with a strong sense of privacy, and each Room has a completely different atmosphere, which makes it fun to try them all. We would love to visit again in a different season.

As a couple in our 40s, we visited to unwind and enjoy some quiet time away from everyday fatigue. We chose a Room with a balcony so we could relax and watch the sky… but across from us, the torn shoji screens of what seemed to be a Hotel that is no longer operating were visible… at night it felt a bit like a test of courage, so we couldn’t go out… lol. Other than that, the food and baths were wonderful, and there was absolutely no sense of crowds—choosing this small Accommodation was exactly the right decision. After dinner, we went to the riverside about a 5-minute walk away, and it happened to be firefly season. We were both thrilled to see real fireflies for the first time…! The whole village was quiet, and compared with Tokyo it was cool in the mornings and evenings. In the morning we enjoyed a gentle-on-the-body, delicious breakfast. We truly felt refreshed from the bottom of our hearts. This is an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

This was our first stay as a couple with our dog. From the moment we arrived, the owner and all the staff welcomed us with thoughtful care and warm smiles, and any tension quickly melted away, leaving us feeling at ease and at home. We were soothed by the free-flowing natural hot spring Onsen in our room, and enjoyed the calm retro-modern atmosphere throughout the property that felt like stepping into an anime or fairy-tale world. While savoring outstanding, healthy, locally sourced cuisine, we could almost feel impurities gently leaving our bodies and energy returning. We were able to truly relax both body and mind. We will definitely be back.

All the staff were very friendly, and we were able to spend our stay in complete comfort. Both the baths and the meals exceeded our expectations. I used the scenic open-air bath early in the morning, and with such beautiful weather, the view was amazing—it felt wonderful. It’s also just a short walk to the stone-step street, and being able to come out around the middle of it felt like a nice bonus. This may depend on the Plan, but there was a local craft beer called Ikahop in the fridge along with juice and water, all included in the rate. There was also a complimentary service of either wine or sake (and for those who don’t drink alcohol, it seems they can provide ramune instead). In addition, there was beer service in the lounge (evenings only), as well as coffee and tea. The Accommodation was very clean and lovely throughout. I also liked that both the corridors and even inside the elevator were tatami-matted—no slippers needed. I was surprised at how small the toilet in our Room was, but aside from that, this is truly a wonderful Accommodation.

This was my first time staying here. Many of the staff are young and from overseas, but their Japanese is excellent, and I was amazed by how exceptionally polite and attentive their service was. Above all, you can really feel how hard they work. I had a very pleasant stay. In particular, the young woman who explained the meals and the man at the front desk during check-in—both were foreign nationals—and they were simply outstanding. The Ryokan itself has a wonderful traditional atmosphere, and I was very satisfied. We stayed to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday, and she was delighted as well! Next time, I’d like to bring my daughter.

On my way back from a business trip to Tokyo, I planned a visit to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, which I had long wanted to see. I stayed one night at an Accommodation in Kinugawa Onsen. I chose it after searching with conditions such as having an in-Room Onsen bath and being reasonably priced. The lobby was well maintained, and the hallways were very clean as well. Our Room had an Onsen bath and two separate rooms, so my wife went to the large public bath while I enjoyed the in-Room bath. The meals were very delicious, and the portions were just right—slightly on the generous side. It was a quiet Accommodation where I could relax in the Onsen, which was wonderful. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but everyone was polite and courteous. One thing that concerned me was that when I opened the window by the in-Room bath, there were quite a few spider webs. Also, insects gathered on the window at night so we couldn’t open it; I thought that if there had been a screen door or similar, we could have opened it. If I have another chance to visit nearby, I would like to stay again.

We stayed here on a family trip with my parents. The Room was spacious and airy, and the greenery visible from the window was truly beautiful—so we were able to relax from the moment we arrived. This time we stayed in two Rooms, “Sono Ichi” and “Sono Yon,” and both had large baths and were wonderful spaces where we could unwind completely. The staff’s thoughtfulness also left a strong impression. They responded attentively whenever needed, while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance that never felt intrusive. They warmly celebrated my mother’s birthday, which made my parents very happy. They even sent a forgotten item to our home, and we remained grateful until the very end of our stay. The meals were unforgettable as well. The cutlet was light yet full of rich lean-meat flavor, and absolutely delicious. And the ayu sweetfish was so good that everyone in our family agreed it was the best ayu we had ever had. From the Room and bath to the food and hospitality, everything was flawless. Thank you for making our precious family trip even more special.

The weather wasn’t great, but the view from the window was wonderful, and I had a comfortable stay. The meals looked beautiful and tasted great, and I really enjoyed them. I was surprised by the afternoon-tea-style presentation. Towels are provided at the Onsen, so you can go without bringing anything. You can wear the samue anywhere in the building, which makes it very relaxing. The samue is comfortable to wear, and it has pockets so you can carry your phone with you.

This was my second stay. Last time, due to an unexpected matter, I couldn’t have breakfast, so this time I stayed until just before checkout. Even though it was a weekday, the Accommodation was almost fully booked. However, I was able to use the private bath with hardly any waiting. The in-room bath also had a green sulfur hot spring with mineral deposits floating in it. At first the bathwater was very hot, but you adjusted the flow of the water for me, and after that I could enjoy it comfortably. Thank you very much. I would love to visit again.

Our family of three stayed here. The guest room with an open-air bath had an amazing view of the trees through the window. The meals were delicious, and we loved the post-bath ice pops, late-night inari sushi, morning coffee service, board games, and the excellent loan services such as a rotating hair dryer and a NanoCare hair dryer. It was relaxing and quiet, and we were able to unwind from everyday fatigue. The Onsen water was also wonderful. Highly recommended Accommodation.

This was my third stay, and the warm hospitality was as wonderful as ever. This time I stayed in the Japanese-style Room “Odamaki” for the first time; it has a spacious layout, and the wide veranda truly lives up to its name! The chair was very comfortable, and I spent most of my time in the Room right there. After enjoying the private open-air bath, I relaxed completely at the private café “Ume no Mitsu.” It’s great that there’s a massage chair, and the homemade sweets were delicious. There are two private baths in the property; they’re compact, but both are very comfortable. I’m on Team Yamakaze. The meals were also excellent with nothing to complain about—I especially loved the tomato mousse. I also love shiso rice and wanted seconds, but I was already full so I held back. Next time I’ll make sure to save more room in my stomach. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

The riverside open-air bath was closed, but we used the outdoor Onsen reached by going down 300 steps. The staircase is so narrow that only one person can pass at a time. We were told it’s open until 11:00 p.m., but we were worried about our footing at night, so we went in the evening and again in the morning. While soaking, we enjoyed the river’s flow and the mountains, listening to the sound of the water. The stairs were tough, but I truly felt glad we came. The semi-open-air bath down about 20 steps was also wonderful, with a clear view of the mountains right in front of you. The temperature was perfect for me. I didn’t expect much from the indoor bath, but it had large windows and felt very pleasant; there was a jacuzzi, a reclining bath, and a hotter pool where we could relax comfortably. Everyone at the Accommodation was very kind and welcoming. Dinner came in many small dishes. The beef and the meatballs in the hot pot were delicious. Even simple items like the beef sauce, hot-pot broth, and pickles were all excellent. The portions were just right for us as a couple. I think you need to be fairly fit to visit an outdoor Onsen that requires going down 300 steps—but I’m really glad we did. This isn’t about the Accommodation itself, but both the bus driver from Nasushiobara Station and the person at Shiobara Onsen Terminal who explained a map of Shiobara Onsen were incredibly friendly, which made our memories of this trip even better. It was a truly wonderful Accommodation where we could stay comfortable throughout our visit. Everything was impeccably clean, and from the moment we stepped into the Room, we felt at ease. The meals we had been looking forward to were outstanding in both presentation and taste for both dinner and breakfast, and we enjoyed them very much. The baths were also a highlight—not only the open-air private hot spring bath with its wonderful sense of openness, but also the cypress bath in the Room, where we could stretch out to our heart’s content while surrounded by the soothing scent of wood. Everything about our stay was excellent and became a great memory. We would definitely like to stay again. One last question: the towels smelled so lovely and were very relaxing! If you don’t mind, would it be possible to tell us which fabric softener you use?

It was my first time staying at an all-inclusive Hotel, and I was truly impressed by how outstanding and delicious the food was. The staff were also very helpful and responded quickly to any questions, which I really appreciated. I would like to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

This was our first stay with my husband, a friend, and two dogs. The Room was spacious, and although it rained both nights, we were able to relax and take it easy. The dog run was covered with wood chips, so our dogs’ paws didn’t get muddy. Having a free-flowing hot spring bath in each villa was very appealing, and my Onsen-loving husband took many baths and was very satisfied. This time we chose the No Meals Included plan, but we bought cheese and bread from the shops introduced in the in-room guide for this Accommodation, and everything was delicious. We’ve been talking about staying for three nights next time. We’re looking forward to staying again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I requested caregiving equipment, and it was installed perfectly, which was a great help. The staff were polite, provided clear explanations, and were very attentive. The Hotel is luxurious, and the guest rooms are beautiful and spotless. There is a wide variety of meals; they look gorgeous and taste great. In any case, it was a wonderful Hotel. I would like to visit again.

Because it is located a little away from Yubatake, we were able to spend a very quiet and relaxing time. The interior has a refined, design-forward atmosphere, yet since the building was originally a cottage and has been renovated, it also feels wonderfully cozy with the warmth and scent of wood. The guest-room bath with free-flowing Onsen water direct from the source was a bit hot at first, but once we got used to it, it felt amazing and allowed us to fully enjoy Kusatsu’s Onsen. After bathing, we felt warmed through to the core and our skin felt pleasantly moisturized. Even the amenities such as lotion were high quality, and we could sense attention to detail throughout. Both dinner and breakfast were truly outstanding, and each dish reflected great care in ingredient selection. The vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, and Joshu beef grilled over a wood fire had an especially fragrant savoriness that left a strong impression. The octopus rice at dinner and the white rice cooked in an earthenware pot at breakfast were also exceptional—perfect with grated yam and bonito flakes. It was a meal where you could really appreciate how delicious the rice itself is. We are not very knowledgeable about wine or sake, but there was an impressive selection, and the well-informed master recommended options tailored to our preferences—making this Accommodation particularly appealing for those who love drinks. Some past Reviews included harsh comments, but after staying ourselves, we could clearly see sincere efforts to improve; it felt like this Accommodation continues to evolve into something even better. Even understatedly put, it was an exceptional stay. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Facility offerings, Onsen baths, cuisine, and hospitality. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that we would absolutely want to stay again when visiting Kusatsu.

This is my third year traveling to Kusatsu Onsen in summer, and I was finally able to stay at Naraya as I had long hoped. The free-flowing Onsen from Shirahata Gensen was wonderful, and I enjoyed it many times. The Room was clean, and the meal was excellent—especially the sushi served at the end, which was so delicious that I left completely satisfied. I felt there were many younger staff members, but everyone greeted me with a smile, making it a great trip. I would definitely like to stay again.
