The facilities were kept very clean, and the staff were kind and attentive, so we had a wonderful stay. Just as we had heard, the hot spring water quality was excellent, and the open-air bath was fantastic. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I decided to write a Review for the first time in almost a year. Everything was flawless, and it was an extremely comfortable stay. The handrails for the open-air bath in the Room were thoughtfully placed with careful attention to movement flow, so even with my mobility issues I was able to bathe safely without feeling anxious. In addition, the handrails were made of wood rather than cold metal, and I truly appreciated the consideration shown throughout for guests. Thank you very much for such a blissful time.

This is my favorite Hotel, which I visit about twice a year. You can relax and unwind surrounded by nature. At night, if the sky is clear, you can see countless stars from the parking lot. The Onsen also has an open-air bath, and it was wonderfully relaxing. Meals are served buffet-style, and dinner in particular features many local ingredients. I enjoyed freshly prepared roast beef and tempura. The cold noodles were also delicious; I asked where they were sold and stopped by on the way home to buy some. For breakfast, I especially loved the yogurt—when I learned it was from a farm in Iwate, I visited there as well. Although our Room was assigned for us, it was spacious, which was great since we had a lot of luggage this time. Overall, it exceeded my expectations for the price.

We were very satisfied with both the Facility and the meals. In particular, we were truly impressed by the wonderful thoughtfulness of all the staff—those at the front desk, those who served our meals, those who saw us off at the entrance, and those who kept the property clean. It was an extremely satisfying trip. The service was refined, courteous, and pleasantly discreet. In particular, the veteran staff member with sommelier credentials made superb selections of sake and wine, which made our meals and conversations all the more enjoyable. We stayed in a Room with a private Onsen. We also used the large public bath, and since there are only a few Rooms, we were able to enjoy it privately. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two hot spring sources, but the water was soft and the temperature was just right. In any case, the garden is wonderful. Although Tendo Onsen is located in town, it’s in a calm setting where you can hear cicadas. And the food is outstanding—no typical “just to increase the number of dishes” meals; instead, you can enjoy local and seasonal ingredients prepared with care and served with refined flavors. They also have an excellent selection of Dewazakura sake. I stay at various Accommodations for work, and among those that fit our budget and lifestyle, this is one of the very best. We’d love to stay again.

I had a very comfortable 3-day, 2-night stay in a quiet setting. The meals were delicious, and the nightly mini concerts in the lobby were truly relaxing. As I was traveling solo, it wasn’t cheap, but the Facility and the quality of the cuisine more than justified it. If I had to mention one thing, the toilet paper in the Room was thin and a bit inconvenient to use. It was a wonderful and comfortable Hotel that will likely make me want to return again in summer.

Thank you for taking care of our family of four for one night and two days. One of us was delayed due to work and might not have made it in time for dinner. When we informed the staff, they kindly changed our dining Room and made various thoughtful arrangements so that even if we arrived late, we could relax without rushing. We were in a difficult situation, and I was truly moved by your deep hospitality. I asked for their name, but they said, “We all do this together...” To Mr./Ms. K-sawa and all the staff members at the dinner venue, thank you very much for everything. I was deeply impressed. This is my favorite Accommodation. It had been far too long since my last visit, but it’s still just as wonderful. The food was exceptional as well. I’ll come back again in a different season. The sake tasting set, matsutake mushroom hot pot soup, imoni (taro stew), udon, and hassun platter were all outstanding.

This was my first time visiting Zao Onsen. After considering several Onsen Accommodations, I chose a smaller Accommodation where I could truly relax. As I headed from Kaminoyama toward Zao, the temperature dropped, and after riding my motorcycle in the intense heat, the cool breeze felt wonderful. The Accommodation is an older building, but it was filled with many charming decorations that made me feel warm inside. The indoor Onsen was artificial, but it was pleasant and available 24 hours a day. Outside, in a separate building, there was a free-flowing hot spring bath fed directly from the source; it was strongly acidic and at a comfortable temperature, making it very enjoyable. Dinner dishes were all carefully prepared and included many local specialties from Yamagata Prefecture. It was great that each dish came with an explanation when served. The steamed dish in particular was outstanding. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of items, and I was very satisfied. All of the staff were kind and greeted us properly—I could really feel their hospitality. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again.

The Accommodation is pleasantly small, making it convenient to get to the restaurant and the baths. A fireplace welcomes you in both winter and summer. The free space on the second floor is stylish, and the Room is clean and beautiful. The meals are always enjoyable and delicious. For me in my 60s, it’s just the right size, with just the right amount of food—an exceptionally comfortable Accommodation.

After leaving the Ryokan, I boarded the Shuttle Service bus to the station without realizing I had forgotten my smartphone. Later, a member of the Shuttle Service staff kindly made a round trip by car to deliver it to Shin-Aomori Station. I feel truly sorry and deeply grateful. Their thoughtful care meant so much to me and left me with a warm feeling until the very end. I would love to stay here again.

I had a hard time choosing a Ryokan. I had already made a Reservation at an affiliated Hotel, but for some reason I ended up booking overlapping dates and didn’t realize it was a double booking. I only noticed after Furukama kindly called me. Thank you so much. The location was also very easy to find with the navigation system, and even though it was my first time there, I arrived without getting lost at all. We were welcomed with warm smiles and cheerful greetings from everyone, and the explanations were easy to understand. The baths were spacious and wonderful. There were many kinds of shampoo to choose from. We made a Reservation for a private Onsen, and it was so relaxing. Bathing while chatting as much as we wanted was also really fun. And the hair dryer was that high-end model—my hair loved it. After taking our time in the bath, we could relax before dinner. Everything we tried was delicious. Breakfast was buffet-style with lots of local specialties, and you could see the thoughtful touches throughout. It wasn’t a bed but futons, and they were incredibly comfortable—the pillow was excellent too. It was a trip filled with great food, great sleep, and total satisfaction. When we left, everyone saw us off together, and they took a commemorative Hanagasa photo for us in front of the entrance. The building wasn’t particularly new, but it felt clean and bright. Also, there seemed to be many younger staff members. Having so many young people probably means it’s an easy place to work—and it felt good being there. Thanks to Furukama, my first trip to Yamagata was truly enjoyable. It became a place where I definitely want to stay again. And that toilet… quite unique. It gave us something to talk about.

We stayed with No Meals Included, but we were able to enjoy complimentary late-night ochazuke. The broth was rich and very delicious. There were three of us, and since the washing area for the private open-air bath was a separate shower booth, we ended up taking turns one by one. However, the Onsen itself and the mist shower were both very pleasant. Next time, we’d like to stay again with meals included!

This was my first stay here. Above all, the Onsen were outstanding. I was able to enjoy a variety of baths— a clear, colorless iron-rich spring in the Room, a thick mixed sulfur and carbonated spring, and a gentle sulfur spring— and I was completely satisfied. We are a couple in our 70s who enjoy driving and hiking. This time, we planned to walk the Goshikinuma hiking course and stayed at Shikisai Ikkiryoku in Bandai-Atami Onsen. With such high Review ratings, we had certain expectations, and it turned out to be a Ryokan that truly satisfied us. The staff’s hospitality and service were genuinely outstanding. From check-in and reception to being escorted to our Room and shown around, they spoke to us at just the right moments, which completely eased any anxiety about staying for the first time. We were also deeply moved when they saw us off at departure. The entire building felt very clean. It is described as a long-established Ryokan with over 100 years of history, but rather than feeling old, it had a dignified atmosphere that we found wonderful. After relaxing in the Onsen, the meals were excellent in both quality and quantity, and we thoroughly enjoyed beer and sake as well. After an early-morning bath, we took a walk around the garden. We also enjoyed viewing the garden from inside while having coffee—both experiences were wonderful. There were many autographed boards from famous guests displayed along the corridors, which was quite enjoyable. It reminded both my wife and me of how hospitality and service used to be at traditional Ryokan—“Yes, this is how it was!” As we celebrate our golden wedding anniversary this year, this became one of our most memorable stays during our travels. I’ve never liked insects, so I’m not a fan of open-air baths in this season. However, they had taken precautions, so I was able to bathe without stress. I deducted one star because the chlorine smell in the indoor bath bothered me. The food was delicious and almost too much in quantity.
