I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I entered the room. There was a space to take off your shoes right away, just like at a traditional hot spring inn, which really lifted my spirits. The entire room—including the Japanese-style room with beds and the bathroom/toilet—felt very clean. Since we were there, we also enjoyed the hot springs. They were clean as well, and we were able to fully enjoy two types of open-air baths. It wasn’t crowded, so we could relax and soak at our leisure. Breakfast was homemade, gentle on the stomach, and delicious. The restaurant staff were also kind and welcoming. If I had to mention any drawbacks, it was that it was a bit far from the station and the wait time for check-in was long. That said, overall satisfaction was very high, and it’s a place I’d like to stay again when visiting Chichibu. Thank you to all the staff for making our trip so comfortable.

This was an Accommodation I had been interested in for some time. The hot water was pleasantly warm, so I could soak and relax at length. The meals were excellent, and I also ordered grilled sesame tofu as an extra. It was exquisite. Overall, the service was very good, and I would like to visit again.

We thoroughly enjoyed the all-you-can-drink craft beer server. The open-air bath overlooking the bamboo grove was also wonderful: during the day, you can hear cicadas, and at night it has a majestic, Bamboo Cutter’s Tale atmosphere. The meals were excellent—both dinner and breakfast offered a great variety of dishes. The bar had many cocktails and Japanese whiskies, all delicious. Thank you to the bartender.

Thank you for taking care of us the other day. I hope this will be helpful to others, so I’ll share my comments by category below. Guestroom & Amenities: We were accommodated in the large room on the 1st floor. Incense was gently burning, which made it very pleasant. The restroom was also spacious, so even elderly guests can feel at ease. The water provided in the in-room refrigerator was truly delicious. Hospitality & Service: This was exceptionally good. The proprietress was very kind, and my two elderly parents seemed genuinely happy. Everyone else as well treated us not by following a script, but with their own sincere words and attitude. I’ve stayed at quite a few places over the years, but this is not something easily done. In the end, I believe this is how true care is conveyed. Hot Springs: We gave the private open-air bath to an elderly couple, and I used the large public bath on the 2nd floor. The quality of the water was excellent—so much so that I almost regretted rinsing off afterward. I took a look at the open-air bath too; it was beautifully decorated with flowers. That said, they mentioned that the water temperature felt a bit low—but that’s simply personal preference. Facilities & Equipment: Since there are only stairs, going up to higher floors may be difficult for elderly guests. We stayed on the 1st floor, so it wasn’t an issue for us. Seasonal flowers were displayed at corners along the hallway, creating a lovely atmosphere. I also wished I could have spent more time looking at the Chichibu Meisen display corner. Meals: No complaints about either taste or portion size. The finishing udon noodles were light and refreshing—excellent. Also, the multigrain rice was wonderfully soft; it tasted completely different from what we cook at home. Overall Satisfaction: There is a star rating system; on a 5-point scale, every category is 5 out of 5. If it were out of 10 then it would be 10/10—and if out of 100 then it would be 100/100. We had no complaints at all—only thoroughly satisfying time throughout our stay. With my elderly parents’ stamina and traveling such a long distance to stay overnight, this will probably be our last trip together. It may sound like closing remarks, but I’m truly glad we chose your inn. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lastly, to our dinner attendant (I apologize for not asking your name), please take good care of your knee. We look forward to visiting again someday.

Thank you for taking care of us during the typhoon and heavy rain. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful, and I was especially moved by the homemade chestnut soup prepared by the proprietress. I only wished there had been a shower in the open-air bath that is available 24 hours a day. I would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

This Business Hotel offers covered parking for motorcycles. The location is excellent—Seibu-Chichibu Station is truly just a short walk away, and you can also walk to JR Chichibu Station. The breakfast buffet staff were very kind, which was great. This time, I stayed here while touring Chichibu by motorcycle for the pilgrimage and to see the Kawase Festival, and thanks to that I had a wonderful trip.

I visited with my 4-year-old daughter. We checked in at 4:00 PM, let her play in the kids’ area right away, and had dinner in our room since bringing food into the room was allowed. The room and bath were both very clean, so both my child and I were very satisfied. The amenities were well stocked, and the children’s items in particular featured cute character designs that made my daughter happy. There was also a drink bar on the first floor, and for breakfast the egg-over-rice (tamago kake gohan) was especially delicious. The staff’s service was also great. It’s close to the zoo, so I highly recommend it. My daughter said she wants to go again.

The cleanliness throughout the building, the color tones of the furniture and interiors, the beauty of the design, and the carefully arranged details all conveyed the Hotel’s overall elegance. What impressed me most was the warmth of the staff. Their demeanor and choice of words reflected outstanding hospitality, allowing me to relax and enjoy my stay with peace of mind. Breakfast was also excellent—not only for the food itself, but also because it could be enjoyed slowly in a serene setting. It felt like one of the great highlights of staying at this Hotel. This Hotel is not simply a place to stay; it is a place to step away from everyday life and spend quiet time in refined comfort. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to take their time enjoying their stay while appreciating its beautiful atmosphere and distinctive world that the staff so carefully preserve. I sincerely thank all staff members for providing such a wonderful space and service. I would love to visit again. However, some guests’ behavior was disappointing. At minimum, basic manners matter—no swimming in the large public bath; no shouting by adults or children; no arguing or yelling between parents; no running in the breakfast area. Even though it was only one night, there was a significant gap between guests who wanted to enjoy a quiet, high-quality environment and those without manners. With both groups mixed together, it is true that there were many moments when I could not fully enjoy what should have been such a dignified and lovely atmosphere. The food, cleanliness, ambiance, elegance, professionalism at reception, quality of furnishings, and housekeeping (except for parts related to air conditioning within the building) were all excellent and very satisfying. This is an issue on our side as guests. Please follow basic etiquette in shared spaces: do not run (especially in the breakfast area), do not shout, do not argue loudly even as parents—and keep your voices down. Unfortunately there were many guests who did not observe these basics. I especially wish people would refrain from swimming in the large public bath. There were also children splashing water around with wash buckets—yet some parents did not correct them; instead they swam together with their children while being loud. It felt chaotic. I also did not want to witness arguments between parents. I do not want to hear shouting or yelling. If only guest behavior improved—but aside from that point, this Hotel is outstanding!

We truly felt the Hotel’s warm hospitality. Your greetings and temporary luggage storage were very helpful. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and everything was delicious. With the Hotel’s Kawagoe map, we were able to explore Koedo smoothly. It became a fun and memorable trip, and we felt the accommodation cost with breakfast included was a great value. While looking for a Hotel near Kumagaya Station, I chose this one because it was the cheapest and had great Reviews. I expected a somewhat retro Hotel, but since I was mainly focused on price for just one night, I didn’t have any particular expectations. However, just as the Reviews said, the moment I entered the Hotel it smelled wonderful, and all of the staff (mostly older women) were truly kind and pleasant. Their thoughtful attention and friendly words came so naturally that I was genuinely impressed!! The Room was more spacious than I expected and very well cleaned, so the age of the building didn’t bother me at all. I’ve stayed at several Hotels in front of or near the station before, but if you’re staying with No Meals Included, this is by far my top recommendation! I probably won’t be going to Kumagaya again, but I wish I had stayed at this Hotel sooner. Every staff member I met in the Hotel left a great impression—such a wonderful place. Thank you very much!

We stayed with our 3-, 2-, and 1-year-old children. Thank you for your very attentive service and for the toys for the kids. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.

We stayed with two families. As expected from the reviews, it was clean and wonderful! The kids were also happy to share a room with new friends for the first time. We initially planned to use a day-use hot spring for bathing, but the bath at the property was spacious and clean enough that we ended up using it instead. If you’re heading to the Chichibu area, we highly recommend it.

Close to the station, I was completely taken with its compact design. It's a Hotel I would like to use again.

Five middle-aged men stayed here together. The building itself has a historic feel, but the interior is well maintained and clean, so it didn’t feel particularly old. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying in both quantity and quality, with a great balance for enjoying drinks as well. The white rice cooked over firewood at the end of the meal was especially delicious. We’d love to return next time with our family.

We visited to see the moss phlox at Hitsujiyama Park. The Accommodation offered a free stargazing tour, and we had a wonderful time. Every staff member was truly hospitable. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

We had a wonderful two-day stay. Upon arrival, we were guided to our room with a detailed explanation, and the room located on an elevated spot offered a stunning view. I booked the Anniversary Plan to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday, and he was delighted with the decorations and cake—it was worth making the reservation. The meals were plentiful, leaving us completely satisfied when we left the accommodation. The atmosphere seemed enjoyable even in colder seasons, so we would love to visit again. Master, thank you for such a fun and wonderful time. It was my first stay, but you listened to so many of our stories over drinks, and it was truly relaxing. You even celebrated my birthday and Mother’s Day with me—it was the most fulfilling time I’ve had in decades. If I have the chance, I would love to stay again at this Hotel.
