This is a perfect Ryokan with meticulous attention to every detail. The building is beautifully maintained, and the finishes and Facilities feel refined. The Onsen is excellent, and the amenities are well stocked. The meals are delicious, served on beautiful tableware, and satisfy both taste and presentation. Drink prices are reasonable as well. The location is close to Yubatake, making it easy to enjoy a stroll around the area. I would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

I personally love the Genroku-no-Yu bath, though it may not be to everyone’s taste. The route to the annex can be hard to find, so it’s best to ask the front desk for clear directions first.

We stayed for one night with our dog. The dog’s name tag was adorable. We were very satisfied with the meals, the Room, the bath, and the complimentary drink service—it was so comfortable that it made us want to stay another night. Since it was raining, we didn’t go to Matsumotoro’s baths, but we’re already talking about going next time.

The staff were very kind and helpful, which made our stay wonderful. With this Plan, we were able to use the private bath free of charge. Since there are only a few guest rooms, we enjoyed a calm, relaxing atmosphere where we could clearly hear the sound of the clear stream. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

From parking assistance at check-in through to check-out, the service was exceptionally courteous. The meals were delicious, and the portions were very satisfying. Our child really wanted to play table tennis, and even though we asked outside of regular hours, you kindly opened the Facility for us. We truly appreciate it. Thank you very much.

At the breakfast buffet, the chef prepared dashimaki tamago and onigiri on the spot (you can choose the fillings), and I was happy to enjoy them freshly made. Today’s miso soup had clams in it, with a rich clam broth—it was delicious and comforting. There was a wide variety of dishes and desserts, including konjac-based items and Ota’s famous yakisoba, so choosing was fun and exciting. I’d love to stay again.

The Accommodation has a nostalgic, retro feel while still being very stylish and lovely. This time we stayed in the “Japanese Twin with Terrace” Room—tatami flooring, low beds, and a deck terrace. What impressed me most was how comfortable the bed was! I was told it’s a Nishikawa Muatsu mattress, and it truly felt amazing—I slept unbelievably well. The pillow was also excellent, and I completely fell in love with the bedding. I’d like to use the same one at home, so I would really appreciate it if you could tell me which type of Muatsu it is. The Onsen was wonderful as well. All three private baths had their own unique charm and were beautiful. The large public bath was also very relaxing—I ended up going in many times during our stay. As soon as you soak in the Onsen, your body warms up right away. The water feels soft, and your skin becomes moisturized and silky smooth. I also loved that bath towels were provided at the baths, so you can always use a clean one. Truly excellent therapeutic bathing. Unfortunately it rained this time—but because of that, we were able to take our time at the Accommodation, soak in the Onsen slowly, and enjoy doing nothing. We chose a Plan with 12:00 checkout, so we didn’t have to rush in the morning and could enjoy the Onsen until the very end. And then—the meals. Absolutely no complaints. Each dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. It was a meal where you can truly enjoy every course for what it is. And something I’ll never forget: draft Yebisu beer! After it arrived, the foam gradually rose up into a rich head—it looked delicious even before tasting. And when I tried it… it really was incredible. I honestly thought there aren’t many places where draft beer tastes this good—it moved me. This “Joshu Beef & Gunma’s Blessings / Three Free Private Open-Air Baths / 12:00 Checkout / A Nostalgic Holiday” Plan was absolutely perfect for me. Shima Onsen in the rain is wonderful too. Soak in the Onsen, eat well, drink well—and sleep incredibly well. In this charming retro Accommodation, I had an amazing time that relaxed both my mind and body. All of the staff were pleasant as well, and the overall atmosphere throughout the Accommodation felt very comfortable. We felt great from start to finish during our stay. The Onsen, meals, bedding—and above all else—the warm hospitality from everyone on staff. Everything felt so comfortable that this is an Accommodation I definitely want to stay at again.

This was our second stay, the first in two years. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, including local specialties unique to the area. Both the buffet staff and the front desk staff were very kind and attentive, which made our stay truly comfortable. In particular, the buffet staff explained things in a way that was easy for our child to understand and spoke to us in a friendly manner, which we really appreciated. When we stay in Kusatsu again, we would love to choose this Accommodation. Thank you very much.

I soaked 9 times over a 3-day, 2-night stay. That’s because you can bathe all night long except for three hours in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. It’s so relaxing that your everyday fatigue feels like a lie. The Onsen quality is truly the best. This time, my skin checker even showed an age of 25. Thanks to the “Beautiful Skin Deity.”

We stayed in a guest Room with a sauna. The sauna, open-air bath, cold-water bath, and the Room were all spotless down to every detail, and we had an amazing time. Meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast, and we were very satisfied with both the variety and the taste—everything was delicious. The staff’s service was also excellent. We look forward to staying again next time.

This was our first stay at this Accommodation, and we really liked it—the atmosphere was great, and the Room was spacious and very relaxing. It’s also close to Yubatake, so getting to Yubatake in the daytime and when it’s lit up at night, as well as shopping for souvenirs or grabbing a quick drink or meal, was no problem. Since it isn’t right around Yubatake, we were able to spend the nights quietly. We’ll definitely stay here again the next time we visit Kusatsu.

It was our first time visiting Oigami Onsen, and the three of us stayed here with my elderly mother. This Accommodation is the only one set on such spacious grounds, and it was obvious at a glance how different it is from the others. Dinner was thoughtfully prepared, and the Joshu beef steak in particular was tender and delicious. The only slight disappointment was that the souvenir shop inside didn’t have much variety, so there wasn’t anything I wanted to buy. I would have appreciated a wider selection of food items. I also became curious about Senkyo’s history and ended up looking it up. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

Although the building is historic and compact, the cuisine—and even the tableware it is served on—are outstanding. The hot spring water comes from both the Yubatake source and the Ryokan’s own private source, each offering a distinct bathing experience. The staff are wonderful and exceptionally attentive. This is an Accommodation you will want to stay at again and again.

I have visited Ikaho several times for Onsen-hopping, and this time I stayed at Kishigon, which I had wanted to try for a while.\n\nI really enjoyed visiting the three different baths. In particular, Gonzaemon-no-Yu had a wonderful atmosphere and became my favorite.\n\nWhen I visited Ikaho last time, I stayed at another Onsen Accommodation with the same Golden Hot Spring water, but it was disappointingly lukewarm, so I was a bit worried. However, at Kishigon the temperature was just right for me and it was excellent.\n\nThe view from the Room was great as well. At the post-bath lounge area (available only during certain hours), we could enjoy alcoholic drinks, and in the lounge we could have coffee.\n\nSince the stone steps are right in front of the Accommodation, it was easy to take a stroll after check-in or after dinner.\n\nOverall, it was great value—there were so many things to enjoy at a reasonable price.

I thought it was a very nice Ryokan. Even though the building and Facility are understandably old, all of the staff were wonderful. Dinner had a wide variety of dishes, and for my growing son they kindly provided extra white rice in addition to the final rice course, which we really appreciated. The attendant was also very kind, and we enjoyed our meal at a relaxed pace. There were several baths and we couldn’t try them all, but I’d definitely like to come back and enjoy them again. One small downside was that the shower temperature in the bath area wasn’t consistent, but overall it was a great stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

We stayed for one night and two days with our grandchild. As mentioned in the Reviews, the building and the Room itself are indeed old, but everything was properly cleaned and there were no issues. With the all-you-can-play passport, we fully enjoyed bowling, the pool, craft-making, festival-style games, quizzes, a stamp rally, and more. The free shuttle bus from the Hotel to Yubatake at night was extremely helpful; it was my first time seeing the Yubatake illumination, and I was surprised by how many tourists were there. Even though it was summer, walking around Yubatake felt pleasantly cool—almost a little chilly—which was wonderful. The next day we used the Hotel bus again because I wanted my grandchild to enjoy street food and try yumomi (hot spring water stirring). I had only ever visited Kusatsu in winter before, so this summer trip was a first for me. While news reports talked about extreme heat in Tokyo, I was amazed at how cool and comfortable Kusatsu is in summer. At night we didn’t need air conditioning in our Room; it even felt slightly chilly. Summer in Kusatsu is great.\nThe meals were delicious, and everyone at the front desk, each reception counter, and the shop—especially the international staff—was very polite and pleasant. Every staff member provided excellent service; I was truly impressed. This is a highly recommended Hotel for families with children as well. We would love to visit again. One drawback is that the Hotel is so large that it’s easy to get lost—especially when trying to find the baths; as noted in Reviews, we got lost too. Overall though, it was a wonderful Hotel. My first time in Sakura City, and I had a great impression. I’d love to visit again.

We stayed for one night during the Obon holidays with my daughter’s family. My son-in-law was visiting Kusatsu Onsen for the first time, and he really enjoyed the delicious meals and the yumomi experience at the Ryokan. All of the staff were kind, and even our 9-month-old grandchild was able to enjoy it, making it a wonderful trip. We would like to stay at Sakurai Ryokan again.

This was our first family trip since losing my mother. As my father requires nursing care and had previously fallen in the bathroom in the Room, we were a bit worried. However, the entire property is barrier-free, and a wheelchair was available at the entrance. We didn’t need to use it, but it gave us great peace of mind. Everything was delicious, from the welcome sweets to dinner, and we were very satisfied with both the Japanese and Western breakfast options. My daughter usually prefers bread in the morning, but even she said the Japanese breakfast here was delicious. We were able to relax and take it easy for two days—thank you very much for your hospitality.
