We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and a babymoon trip. In short, choosing this Accommodation was absolutely the right decision! This time we used the maternity Plan. Since there are very few Accommodations that offer a maternity Plan, the moment I saw the Plan name I thought, “This is it!” and made a Reservation. When we arrived, the staff welcomed us, carried our luggage from the parking lot, and even provided welcome drinks and a thorough explanation—right from the start, their attentiveness was flawless. With only seven Rooms, the property was wonderfully quiet, and everything felt unhurried. The all-inclusive setup—being able to enjoy drinks and light snacks whenever we wanted—was fantastic. During bar time, my wife was thrilled to have non-caffeinated options and non-alcoholic cocktails as well. She even said, “Next time I can drink alcohol again, I definitely want to come back!” (laughs) Our Room was a stylish maisonette with a chic black theme. The open-air bath viewed through the large window—and the forest scenery beyond—was beautiful. We were truly grateful for all the thoughtful touches for my pregnant wife: a large maternity cushion on her bed, extra cushions prepared for her chair at meals, and more. Breakfast and dinner were satisfying beyond what you’d expect at an upscale restaurant. They confirmed in advance what my wife couldn’t eat and adjusted each dish accordingly. It was also fun hearing how it differed from the standard menu. When we mentioned it was our anniversary, they even prepared a lovely fruit platter with dessert at dinner—we were both genuinely moved. We skipped using the in-room open-air bath this time because there were many insects outside, but we thoroughly enjoyed the private bath whenever we liked. The lounge also felt incredibly open thanks to its high ceiling and large windows that let us take in nature. During bar time after dinner, when Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream was sold out, one of the staff kindly brought an alternative for us! We expected it would simply end with “Sorry, it’s sold out,” so we were touched by how far they went for us. And after checkout as we drove away by car، staff came outside waving goodbye with their arms raised—it was such wonderful hospitality that made us think، “We’ll definitely come back!” Thank you for such an amazing stay from start to finish! It became our best anniversary and babymoon ever۔ We’ll absolutely return once my wife can enjoy alcohol again!

The elegant building and stylish interior lifted my spirits the moment we arrived. Every staff member was consistently kind, and their thoughtfulness really came through, making our stay extremely comfortable. We traveled with a child, and they were so gentle and welcoming to our little one as well—it truly warmed my heart. The beer in the lobby was delicious, and I couldn’t help but have more than I planned. Dinner was wonderful across the board—especially the tuna and the Wagyu steak!! I had high expectations, but it exceeded them. With such lovely staff, an all-inclusive plan, a spotless lobby and Room, and beautiful views, it was simply perfect. I don’t think there are many Accommodations as special as this. If you’re traveling to Izu, I highly recommend this Accommodation—you’re sure to have an amazing trip! I’m still thinking how I should have eaten and drank even more to fully enjoy everything… haha! After checkout, I realized I had left something behind. When I contacted them, they kindly shipped it to my home right away. It arrived the next day, and their quick yet careful support truly warmed my heart. Thank you so much. We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay in July in a Room with a jacuzzi. Thank you for taking such great care of us. The front desk and dining staff were extremely kind, and as a truly pet-first Accommodation, we could feel thoughtful touches that set it apart from other places. It’s hard to find this price with breakfast included anywhere else. The star-filled sky was amazing—we were even moved to see satellites with the naked eye. We would definitely like to return again next year.

It was a relaxing experience surrounded by magnificent nature, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. At reception, healing music plays as background music, and together with the scenery it creates a wonderfully out-of-the-ordinary atmosphere. The open-air bath attached to the Room, the meals (for dinner we enjoyed sashimi, meat, salt-grilled ayu, and more; for breakfast we had a Japanese-style meal), and the service were all flawless—5 stars. We will definitely visit again!

A relaxing, tranquil Accommodation for adults. Watch the ever-changing sky, sea, and forest, and the sparkling stars; soak in the Onsen whenever you like; and enjoy high-quality meals... Above all, the staff’s hospitality is outstanding. During my stay, they never once asked for my name or Room number, and they even adjusted the end time of dinner to fit my spa Reservation. Thanks to their seamless communication and thoughtful care, I felt completely at ease throughout my stay. I will be back again. Thank you very much.

I was a bit worried about traffic when driving during the Obon holiday, but I wanted to explore Nishi-Izu freely for the first time in a while, so I decided to go by car. As a result, we arrived close to 5:00 pm, and it was a shame that things felt a little rushed before dinner starting at 6:00 pm. However, it was truly luxurious and delightful to be able to relax and enjoy the wonderful views at the dining venue—just like from the Room—while still having privacy. The in-Room Onsen bath was amazing. For some reason no insects came near, and I enjoyed it comfortably many times until the next morning. We requested breakfast to start at 8:30 am, but that didn’t mean we slept in—we took over an hour from just after 7:00 am to stroll along the Dogashima promenade right in front of us. It made breakfast taste even better. This location is truly rich. We also really appreciated the 12:00 pm check-out time. If you have to finish breakfast quickly, pack up, tidy the Room, and check out at 10:00 am, it feels like bringing everyday life with you and you can’t fully enjoy your stay. Thanks again for such a luxurious and rich stay.

We stayed here for an anniversary trip. The Room was bright and pleasant, making it a very comfortable space. From the warm welcome to our departure, all the staff provided consistently thoughtful and attentive service throughout our stay, and we were impressed from start to finish. The Onsen was wonderful as well, and we enjoyed it many times. It left both our skin and hair feeling cared for and silky smooth. The meals—and the way they were served—were outstanding, and everything tasted exceptional. The tableware was beautiful too; we couldn’t help but feel the chef’s dedication in every detail. Thanks to you, we had a truly enjoyable dining experience. We’re also deeply grateful for the lovely photos you took—they mean so much to us and will be treasured keepsakes. We sincerely appreciate being able to spend such a wonderful time here. We’ve already been talking about coming back again soon. We look forward to seeing you then.

Thank you for taking care of us on our family trip. Check-in while enjoying a welcome drink was a nice touch, and the Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were two bathing options: a free open-air bath and a large public bath, and we could even see Mt. Fuji from the large public bath. Dinner was delicious across the board; although we were full by the end of the meal, the house specialty “Izu Mabushi” was light and refreshing, so we enjoyed it easily. Breakfast featured a variety of side dishes served in small portions on multiple small plates—beautifully presented, and every dish was tasty. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming, which made our stay even better. We would love to come again. Thank you very much.

Our First Visit to Ubud no Mori All of the staff were incredibly kind and spoke to our dog so warmly. Thanks to them, we felt welcomed and comfortable from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—we were more than satisfied!! We even got to enjoy the late-night soba, which made the evening even happier. Being able to relax and have such a wonderful time with our dog became a truly special memory for us. We would love to visit again! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

The location was excellent, and the views of Sanshiro Island and Suruga Bay from the Room, the bath, and the lobby were amazing. There were complimentary drinks and tokoroten available in the free lobby, and the private family bath was open—everything could be used without a Reservation. The night view from the rooftop was also wonderful, and we enjoyed it like a vacation home. The staff service was outstanding as well. We would love to stay again.

The staff were incredibly friendly and kind! The Onsen was amazing, but what impressed me most was the hospitality. And the kimbap was unbelievably delicious. On the second day they kindly served inari sushi, but I liked it so much I wanted to eat kimbap two days in a row!! The building is old, but it felt like visiting the countryside, and everything was thoroughly cleaned and spotless.

After the rush of everyday life finally settled down, I decided to challenge myself with my first solo trip, hoping to relax somewhere I could hear the sounds of nature. Choosing this Accommodation was absolutely the right decision. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they took great care with my allergies. The Room was exactly what I had been hoping for the moment I stepped in—beautiful greenery through the window, yet a very modern design that made it easy to truly unwind. The bath temperature was also perfect for summer. I had wondered how dining alone would feel, but there was no need to worry at all—the meals were outstanding. I also requested acupuncture treatment, which was handled very carefully; my severe lower back pain eased so much that I could rest at night without any pain. Everything about this stay was wonderful, and I think solo travel may become a habit for me. I would love to visit in every season. Thank you very much.

We stayed for two nights during the Obon holiday period in August. From our email exchanges before arrival, we already felt this was a very attentive Accommodation, and our stay fully lived up to that impression. The Accommodation has the charm of a traditional Japanese Ryokan, yet it never feels outdated—rather, it offers an elegant and calming atmosphere. What impressed us most was how impeccably clean everything was wherever we went. Even in shared areas such as the lobby, the large public bath, and the massage area, we didn’t notice any dust or litter at all. Needless to say, the Room was also cleaned with great care, including the private open-air bath attached to it. The Onsen water temperature in our Room was just right, allowing us to soak and relax comfortably; even after bathing we stayed pleasantly warm, and we felt it was truly high-quality Onsen water. We only used the large public bath once or twice because it felt a bit shallow for us, but both the washing area and changing room were spacious and very comfortable to use. The private bath was also excellent; however, the only issue was that the tub surface inside was extremely slippery—I nearly slipped and fell. I later noticed there was a warning sign, but it might have been helpful if someone had mentioned this in advance. What made us happiest about both the large public bath and private baths was that towels (both sizes) and amenities were all provided there. These days many places ask guests to bring towels from their Room to shared baths (or private baths), which is always inconvenient and frustrating. Here, towels were available at every bathing area—and there were plenty of towels in the Room as well—so we could enjoy bathing very comfortably. The only Facility/amenity improvement I would hope for is regarding the indoor slippers provided in the building: they were quite tight around my toes and didn’t fit me well, so my toes rubbed painfully enough to peel skin. If possible, I would have appreciated having an alternative option such as sandals alongside them. The meals were delicious with no particular complaints; however, I’m giving four stars simply because I hope they will become even better going forward. Overall: a comfortable and spotless Accommodation; every staff member (including housekeeping) was genuinely polite yet friendly, with wonderful thoughtfulness throughout. It’s an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again.

This was our repeat stay once again. No matter how many times we visit, the view of Mt. Fuji from the men’s open-air bath is truly breathtaking—something you can only experience here. Unfortunately, it was cloudy this time and we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but that just gives us something to look forward to next time. The French dinner made great use of local and seasonal ingredients, and we were completely satisfied with both the presentation and the taste. The portions were just right for us, and it’s also a pleasure to enjoy different dishes each season. The breakfast buffet was equally well stocked with both Japanese and Western options, and we enjoyed everything down to the fruit and desserts. It was a little disappointing that the made-to-order omelets from before are no longer available, but it’s understandable if it’s part of efforts to keep the Hotel running for years to come. Most impressive of all is the hospitality of the staff. At breakfast, for example, they kindly introduced recommended dishes in detail—it really came through that they pay attention to each guest, and we felt their warm consideration throughout our stay. Many paintings and artworks are displayed throughout the building; I’m not particularly knowledgeable about art, but simply walking around inside is enjoyable. The building isn’t new by any means, but on this remote island I can’t help imagining how such a large Hotel was even constructed in the first place. I was also impressed that such extensive Facilities have been maintained for so many years in a harsh environment surrounded by sea. We’ve stayed at many Hotels over the years, but Awashima Hotel is one of those rare special places that naturally makes you think, “I want to come back.” I hope this wonderful scenery and warm hospitality will continue unchanged for years to come, so it remains a beloved Hotel for many people. We’ll be back again.

Relax in an Onsen in the mountains while gazing out at the sea. This location was simply unbeatable. And above all, the food was truly delicious! This time we enjoyed a French dinner. French cuisine at an Onsen Accommodation—more satisfying than we ever imagined. In the morning, it was a complete change to Japanese breakfast. The views, the Onsen, and the food—everything was exceptional. It was a luxurious time that left both our hearts and stomachs full.

This is a historic Accommodation, yet the staff are full of energy, and operations from check-in to check-out are efficient with no wasted time. The seasonal cuisine is truly delicious, and getting to the various baths is an adventure—through maze-like corridors and, in some areas, even across a suspension bridge. It’s packed with excitement! You can have a wonderful stay just at Kikuya alone, making it an Accommodation you’ll want to visit again and again. Both check-in and check-out are well designed and smooth, so there’s no waiting—excellent! Thank you very much for taking such great care of us again.

Although it’s a bit far from Shimoda Station, they offer not only a Shuttle Service from the station but also a Shuttle Service to Sotoura Beach. If you plan to relax nearby, you won’t feel inconvenienced at all even without renting a car. There is a complimentary drink bar inside the property, and it was great that we could even enjoy beer and highballs. The pool is also available, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. What stood out most was the excellent service for children. They handed out “Rock-Paper-Scissors Rally Cards,” and if kids won three times against staff members, they received fireworks. At night, we used them to have fun on the beach, and our child was absolutely delighted. Just as the Reviews we checked in advance said, this really is a wonderful Hotel. If we have another chance to visit Shimoda, we would definitely stay here again.

All the staff provided excellent service. The meals were delicious, featuring mainly local fish, including sashimi. The coffee mill was a nice touch as well. We will visit again.

We stayed from August 1 to 2 for my girlfriend’s birthday trip. From the moment you step into the Hotel, you’re overwhelmed by the incredible setting—this alone is more than satisfying! The Hotel is kept beautifully clean, and the stunning views throughout are truly soothing. The amenities are well stocked, and the food is unbelievably delicious—everything feels exceptionally fulfilling. During meals, the staff always watched the timing and brought each dish at just the right moment, and they even helped us celebrate her birthday. Every member of staff was genuinely wonderful, and we were grateful from start to finish. It became an unforgettable birthday trip. Thank you so much—we’ll definitely stay again!
