I stayed here on the day of the Ito fireworks. Since I wanted to go swimming before check-in, they kindly stored my luggage and let me change clothes in advance. The meals were served in tiered boxes, and I could enjoy them at a relaxed pace in my Room—they were delicious! The Onsen had both a rock bath and a tatami bath, and with separate times for men and women, it was great that I could use them anytime during my stay. The Room was listed as having some limitations, but it had an ocean view.

We stayed with our 3-year-old and our 2-month-old baby. We chose this Accommodation because the Room has a private open-air bath, and in-room dining—now quite rare—meant we could relax even with small children. About two days before our stay, we received a confirmation call and were grateful for the details about the Shuttle Service pickup location. When we told them our children’s ages, they kindly said, “We’ll make sure your Room is thoroughly cleaned.” The Facility felt a bit dated, but the Room was very clean. Everyone at the Ryokan wore hakama, which looked wonderful. Since we arrived with children, they guided us to our Room first, and being able to complete check-in in the Room was also a big plus. We were welcomed with matcha tea and warabi mochi, which helped us unwind after traveling. With only eight guest Rooms, it was very quiet throughout our stay—comfortable like having a private villa. They had already laid out futons so our child could lie down anytime, and they spoke warmly to our older child by name—thoughtful service that really stood out. Every in-room dining dish was delicious, especially the fish dishes. The private open-air bath attached to the guest Room had a lovely hinoki aroma. It rained on arrival day, but the next morning we enjoyed a bath while looking out at the sea. There is also a reservable open-air bath on the rooftop; after putting the kids to sleep, my spouse and I took turns using it. We even enjoyed stargazing at night—such a special memory. Thanks to all of their thoughtful care, this became an unforgettable family trip. We would love to stay again when we visit Izu. Thank you very much!

First, thank you for accommodating my food allergies despite the last-minute Reservation the day before. The Accommodation is tucked away in the mountains, quiet and surrounded by nature—yet surprisingly well located with views out over the sea. There is no Shuttle Service to the Accommodation, so I took a taxi from Izu-Kogen Station. There aren’t many taxis waiting, but you should be able to get one without too long a wait. As it’s truly a detached-style Accommodation, each Room is set apart, so you don’t have to worry about noise from other guests. I believe all Rooms are detached and the number of guests is limited. The villa has high ceilings and a charming design, with an indoor bath featuring large windows as well as a private open-air bath in the Room. There’s also a small garden and an open-air bath without a roof. Of course, being outdoors means it’s affected by the weather. The views are lovely, but once you sink into the tub you can’t really see the ocean—just so you know. On clear nights, you can enjoy a sky full of stars. In-room dining was attentive and comfortable throughout, and I truly appreciated how carefully they adjusted the dishes for my allergies. They can also add or modify menus using local ingredients to suit your preferences. The refrigerator was stocked with drinks, and amenities were more than sufficient. I was able to relax without needing to leave my Room at all. A recommended Japanese-style Accommodation where you can unwind in privacy without worrying about others’ eyes.

This Accommodation let us fully enjoy both the sea and the Onsen. The sound of the waves heard from the tatami Room was truly, truly soothing—it was a Room that made us want to keep watching and listening forever, and to stay longer. From arrival to departure, every staff member was kind and attentive. We were able to enjoy the meals, drinks, and even late-night ramen. There wasn’t a single thing to complain about—this is a place we absolutely want to visit again. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

I chose this Accommodation because I wanted to visit Mihama Beach and it was conveniently located, but I was amazed by the incredible hospitality. The proprietress was like sunshine, and all the other staff were so pleasant—truly a wonderful Accommodation. The young woman who served dinner even picked up on our small conversation and celebrated my husband’s birthday, which we hadn’t mentioned. The Room cushions were unbelievably thick and fluffy—so much so that I almost hesitated to sit on them. Since I was traveling with my elderly father, they were very considerate of him, and he was in great spirits as well. This is the first time I’ve experienced such a warm Accommodation. Thank you very much!

We stayed here as a couple. In addition to the in-room open-air bath and the Onsen, we were especially impressed by the ocean view from our Room, and we were able to relax and unwind in a quiet setting. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we also enjoyed meals and drinks via room service; the dining space itself was wonderful as well. The overall atmosphere and interior design throughout the property felt calm and comfortable, making it a stay where we could truly enjoy the luxury of doing nothing. Above all, the hospitality from all staff was exceptional—their service was both attentive and warmly welcoming, which left a lasting impression. The views, the Room, the food, and the staff’s care all exceeded our expectations. Although it was only one night, we had a truly lovely time that became an unforgettable memory. We would definitely like to return, and we highly recommend this Accommodation to anyone looking to spend special time with someone important.

The staff struck just the right balance, and both the meals and the soothing hot spring were wonderful. It was a fantastic free-flowing bath with no chlorine smell. We enjoyed an affordable stay, drank plenty of beer, and were treated to Shuttle Service by car—truly a luxurious time. Thank you very much.

As last year, we stayed for two nights in a Junior Suite to celebrate our grandchild’s birthday. The forecast was wrong, and the sun came out all three days, so we were able to fully enjoy Iritahama Beach and the pool instead of Nabeta. The staff’s consistently warm hospitality made our stay even more wonderful. Breakfast was great, but on the second day some items changed, and our grandchild was disappointed that their favorite shigure-ni from the previous day was no longer available, so I rated it 4. We’re looking forward to visiting again next year. They say they’d like to stay three nights next time.

We stayed as a couple. We made our Reservation one week before our stay, and the only Room available came with a semi-open-air bath. The Room was very clean and spacious, facing the ocean—absolutely wonderful. The beach is right in front of the Hotel, and it felt like a private beach; we could take a walk at sunset and really enjoy the resort atmosphere. Not only was the in-room semi-open-air bath great, but the large public bath with an open-air bath was also very spacious, so we could relax and enjoy it at our leisure. For dinner, since we don’t eat much, we chose the standard course and it was more than enough. It seemed you could also order extras such as golden eye snapper, abalone, and spiny lobster. Breakfast was entirely self-service, and even if you wanted to grill dried fish (aji), you had to go get items like a pot and solid fuel yourself, which felt a bit inconvenient. Alcohol was free during dinner, which was excellent; however, there were no vending machines inside the Hotel for other times, so having to go out to a convenience store to buy drinks was disappointing. Considering the Facility and overall offering, it felt like good value for money; overall satisfaction was high, and we would like to stay again.

This is our fourth year staying here. We stay here every summer on our family trip. It’s a Hotel that perfectly embodies the “Welcome home” concept, and each year we truly feel like we’re coming back home when we stay. Our children also love everyone at the Hotel, and we are always comforted by your thoughtful attention to detail and warm smiles. The meals are also delicious—our kids, who usually don’t eat much, ate so much that even we were surprised. In our first year, the main purpose of our trip was going to the beach, but now staying at Powell has become the reason for our visit. Next year, as our children move up a grade, how we spend summer vacation may change and we might not be able to come in summer. Even so, I’m sure we’ll visit again even if it’s in a different season. This was our seventh destination on our classic hotel tour. To be honest, among the classic hotels, we thought Kawana would be a “maybe if we can,” but we made a Reservation hoping to enjoy the pool during the Obon holidays. Now that our stay is over, it was so wonderful that we want to come to Kawana Hotel every summer. One thing we had researched in advance was the omurice said to have been eaten by Marilyn Monroe, and we knew we couldn’t miss it—so we went for lunch right after arrival. We enjoyed a relaxed meal at Sun Parlor in a beautiful setting with ocean views. We also had shaved ice at Sun Parlor. With condensed milk and honey harvested from beekeeping at Kawana, we changed the flavor ourselves with each bite and had fun tasting it different ways. Another highlight was the movie screening held in the second lobby at night. The film that day was Roman Holiday. Combined with the classic atmosphere of our Room, it felt like it created a truly special summer night. Since the pool and baths can be enjoyed even after check-out, we went back to the pool on day two as well. The natural spring water pool was very cold and refreshing; lying on a poolside bed with views of blue skies and the sea, listening to the splash of water, felt absolutely perfect. All of the staff were very kind. Compared with other classic hotels, this one felt especially welcoming, making for a stay that brought back nostalgic summer memories. We’d love to visit again next summer.

We stayed for two nights for my wife’s birthday trip! The sea in Inatori was a bit rough, but we still had a Room with a great ocean view and an open-air hinoki bath, and we were able to relax very much. It was also nice that meals were served in a private dining room. The buffet offered more dishes than you’d expect from the term “half-buffet,” so it took some effort to carry food back to the private room, but we could eat quietly. We also truly appreciated that you prepared a separate cooked dish for my wife, who doesn’t like raw foods. Since it was during summer vacation when the pool is available, there were especially many children at mealtimes, so having a private room felt like the right choice. We were able to use the reservable private baths almost whenever we wanted, and it was convenient to check availability by registering on LINE. However, perhaps due to the age of the Facility—which is understandable—my wife has some difficulty with her legs, so moving around (to the restaurant and private baths, etc.) felt like quite a lot. In particular, access to the large panoramic bath on the 6th floor was only by stairs, and there were small steps inside the Room (such as around the washbasin area and low-bed space), so we deducted just a little in terms of barrier-free accessibility. We’re fans of Izu Animal Kingdom’s “Syrup Family,” so we would definitely like to visit Inatori again—and return to Akao Hotel. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

I stayed here for business. What impressed me most was the warm hospitality of the staff. I also really enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant. One thing I would like to see improved: as someone who loves an early-morning bath, I would appreciate it if the baths could be open in the early morning.

This was my first time using IKYU. We decided on short notice to take an Onsen trip three days later (on a weekday), and an AI recommended IKYU, so I installed the app and searched. The last-minute deal that came up was an accommodation in Izu (Koyu-ro Ikawa). Let me say this upfront: I will definitely return. It was that wonderful. I believe it’s an older Ryokan that has been renovated, and I was truly impressed by the concept. It’s a triumph of spatial design. The entire building is kept softly dim, with skillful lighting creating a luxurious atmosphere, and carefully selected sofas placed in the lobby. Together, these elements gently conceal the age of the building and create a gorgeous space where you can completely relax. It was also clear that every service and facility—such as welcome drinks and the after-meal dessert buffet—has been thoughtfully planned and provided. What I especially want to highlight is the private open-air bath in a separate annex on the first floor. You can soak in an indescribably wonderful space, and that time left a powerful impression on me. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. There is only one thing I regret: while almost all staff were perfect (100/100), when we arrived about an hour before check-in at 3:00 p.m., the young female staff member who came out from the back to assist us at reception was extremely disappointing. Her language wasn’t polite, and it made me feel as if we were being pushed out of the property. We pulled ourselves together and returned before 3:00 p.m., but everyone else was outstanding.

The Accommodation was very clean, the meals were delicious, and we were able to relax and enjoy the lounge. Breakfast offered such a generous variety that it was hard to choose, and everything was excellent. The staff were also very kind. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

A secluded mountain Accommodation near Shimoda. The Rooms are spacious and well laid out, making it easy to relax. The Room and location are great, and a cute kitty will welcome you. The pH 9.5 hot spring water and the hostess are outstanding. Meals are just right for older guests; younger guests may want to adjust with extra rice. It’s also only about a 3-hour drive from Tokyo, so highly recommended!

This was our first time staying here. The Room had a beautiful ocean view, and the location was excellent. We were also glad it came with a bath. What surprised us most was how delicious the food was. The sashimi was wonderful, and both the fish and meat dishes felt like high-end French cuisine. We chose a Japanese breakfast, which also impressed us with its variety and outstanding flavor. During our stay, there was a fireworks festival at Toi Coast, so we drove about 10 minutes to watch. We could also see a luxury cruise ship on the sea, making it a very memorable fireworks display. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

At check-in, I was able to choose my breakfast, and at the venue it was served individually, allowing me to enjoy a relaxed meal. I chose the Japanese set and had grilled dried horse mackerel. It was very delicious. I was able to spend a leisurely time and was completely satisfied!

The fresh fish sashimi was outstanding. The meat dishes were also delicious, and we were very satisfied. The service was courteous and attentive. I think this Accommodation would be comfortable with no issues for guests up to their 60s. As Tokiwaya is a traditional Ryokan, I felt there are many challenges in terms of accessibility. I stayed with my 95-year-old mother, so I made a Reservation for a Room with a private bath, but there were many steps inside the Room and the bathtub was deep (my mother was able to step over it), which unfortunately made it difficult to use.

The mist felt like a shower of beauty serum, and my skin became truly soft and deeply moisturized. After enjoying the hot stone sauna, the open-air bath, and the radon Onsen, even my knee pain had eased by the time I left. I was amazed—my knee could bend again! The staff were all very warm and welcoming, and breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. I prefer this style over a buffet. I would love to visit again.
