The tableware and essential kitchen items were well stocked, and the place had been thoughtfully aired out before our arrival, so overall it was a great stay. The kids were thrilled with the loft bunk bed, and we were able to enjoy a fun vacation-home experience.

We stayed as three families. The spacious and comfortable Room provided enough private space for everyone. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and incredibly stylish! It was such a wonderful place that we definitely want to come back again.

Mid-October 2024 2 nights and 3 days for a couple The building was a renovated traditional house. There were luxurious rooms, and although there were parts we didn't actually use, it was spacious enough to be comfortable. The air conditioning, ventilation, and floor heating were all fully equipped, making it comfortable. The onsen bathroom was very tastefully designed, with windows that could be fully opened, creating a semi-open-air feel, which was pleasant given the season. A rental villa with an onsen in Hakuba is quite rare, isn't it? The amenities, including bathrobes and towels, were well-prepared, and we were very satisfied. There was also a washer-dryer, which I think is great for long stays. There seemed to be a drying room for ski and snowboard gear, making it perfect for skiing at Happo-One. The only downside was the lack of a view, so it would be even better if there were a wooden deck or something to allow access to a shaded terrace during the good seasons, with some maintenance of trees and plants. One major disappointment was that during our stay, before checkout, several men entered the facility using an electronic key. They were not acquaintances, of course. This is something that would never happen at a hotel. Our vehicle was parked in the facility's designated parking lot on the premises, and it seemed they parked right next to it (a domestic SUV with Nagano plates), so it should have been clear that there were guests in the building. The person who unlocked the door seemed to be a real estate-related agent, as they started showing the building while talking. We were preparing to check out, so we were presentable, but we were very surprised when strangers suddenly entered our private area. In a hurry, I explained that we were still staying and about to proceed with the electronic checkout, and asked them to leave. However, in this dangerous world, I became very anxious about how the facility manager was handling the electronic key management. During our stay, we went out several times, so if anything happened, like theft of personal belongings or facility equipment, or damage, it would be a problem. After adhering to the checkout time and completing the electronic checkout, just as we were leaving the parking lot, a maintenance person arrived in a small truck. They might have been the cleaning staff. I still don't know who the person who entered during the time was, and honestly, it's unsettling. We really liked the facility, but it left us with security concerns.

I have stayed at luxury hotels and villas around the world, and this was definitely among the top-tier experiences. Simply outstanding.

We stayed as a group of 10 across three families and enjoyed a comfortable time with the spacious living-dining area, rooms for the children, and separate family rooms. The fact that there were three showers and toilets was great for ensuring privacy! For meals, we considered hiring a private chef but decided to cook together while enjoying drinks at our own pace. It would be nice if the private chef option included Western cuisine as well. During our stay, we visited local supermarkets such as Delicia, Big (AEON), and A-Coop. Among them, A-Coop is recommended for its variety of vegetables and selection of prepared foods. For breakfast or snacks, we recommend visiting the bakery just one minute away on foot (Sakurara Confectionery). Their rice flour donuts were chewy and delicious! Our favorite spot in the accommodation was the dining table (180×180 cm), which had an excellent square shape and size for group meals! Even with many people seated around it, conversations felt comfortably close yet not crowded. Additionally, the BANG & OLUFSEN speakers were very stylish with excellent sound quality! We highly recommend using them in stereo mode. Please note that connecting via Bluetooth may only link to one speaker; it seems necessary to select AirPlay for proper stereo connection. While some parts of the manual could be improved regarding these features, we appreciated how helpful JADE Group staff were over phone calls and on-site support when needed! Although vacation rentals can sometimes raise concerns about support services, everything from pre-arrival phone assistance to post-arrival hospitality was excellent. We had a truly pleasant stay. We look forward to staying at another property from this group in the future!

We stayed as a group of three families (6 adults and 4 children). The accommodation was clean both inside and out, allowing us to have a wonderful time. The thoughtful touches such as insect repellent, mosquito coils, and pet sheets were much appreciated. We also made several inquiries by phone before and during our stay (e.g., about towel replacements), and the staff responded promptly and courteously, which was very helpful. If possible, we would love to stay again next year. If I may suggest some improvements: - A minor point, but while there was a rice cooker and measuring cup for rice, there was no rice paddle. It would be great if one could be provided (or at least noted in advance if unavailable). Additionally, having cooking utensils like long chopsticks for stir-frying would be even better. - The refrigerator took some time to cool down; it would help if it could be turned on before check-in if possible (the air conditioning was already on and very comfortable). - A guide or instructions for using the kitchen appliances would be helpful (especially for overseas-made IH stoves, microwaves, dishwashers). - Including a floor plan of the building might make it easier to visualize the space. Even with these points in mind, we had an extremely satisfying stay. Thank you very much!

Located in a nature-rich area of Hakuba, this accommodation offers a relaxing experience surrounded by natural beauty. The garden is equipped with facilities for barbecues and campfires, allowing guests to enjoy meals while listening to the sounds of birds. The rooms are exceptional, each featuring its own toilet and bath/shower room. Additionally, the top floor boasts a stone-built bath resembling an Onsen, which we enjoyed multiple times. There are two living rooms so spacious that it was hard to decide where to settle in. Conveniently located near all attractions in Hakuba, with ski slopes just nearby, it’s perfect for morning walks.

We stayed here on a touring trip with friends. Being able to have a barbecue on the terrace was fantastic. We’d love to stay again.

The room and amenities were very clean and excellent. We stayed as a group of seven spanning three generations, and we were able to relax comfortably. The barbecue facility was fully equipped, and there was a backyard larger than a futsal court where we enjoyed playing catch and soccer. This is an accommodation we would love to use again.

The staff at the Stays were very kind, and it felt like an old and good Property. The bath was also very pleasant. It was a place that makes you want to stay again!

This was our first trip to Hakuba with my daughter, and we were very satisfied with this accommodation. With only four rooms, each uniquely designed, we chose the "Condo" room this time. The room featured beautiful interior design, offering a luxurious and private experience. My daughter was delighted as well. For us, the enjoyment of a trip heavily depends on the accommodation's room and meals, and Kunugi exceeded all expectations with its hospitality and cleanliness. One of the highlights was the bath facilities—three options including indoor baths and an outdoor Asian-style bath that required a reservation. The outdoor bath had a tropical resort vibe where we could relax while enjoying views of the garden. It was so pleasant that I ended up using it twice—once in the evening and again in the morning. Dinner consisted of a full-course menu featuring fish and meat dishes that were casual yet delicious. The French toast served at breakfast was also excellent, which made my daughter very happy once again. Having stayed at many hotels or ryokans before, I believe accommodations like Kunugi—with its originality and exceptional hospitality—are rare to find. While winter is likely their peak season due to increased demand, visiting during off-season periods like now through autumn offers more reasonable rates. Summer in Hakuba feels like experiencing Japan’s traditional landscapes—a truly unique region worth visiting. We will definitely return for another stay! The owner was incredibly kind—a wonderful host—and even provided shuttle service for us. Thank you so much for making this summer trip such an unforgettable experience!

I had reserved a twin room, but it was set up with a king-size bed, so I checked with the front desk. They confirmed it was a setup mistake and promptly corrected the bed arrangement. Since I needed to head out right away, I couldn’t take it, but their offer of complimentary coffee was also excellent. The service of providing free drinks in the in-room refrigerator, including alcohol, was wonderful as well. I would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed with two adults and four dogs. The interior was very clean, and the bedding and towels were comfortable. Although dogs are allowed, there was no odor anywhere inside, so we had a very pleasant stay. From the second-floor bedroom window, you can see snowy mountain scenery, and it’s a wonderful way to start the day feeling refreshed. The cottage itself is lovely, and the location is excellent: a supermarket, Snow Peak, Patagonia, The North Face, an Onsen, and restaurants are all within walking distance—very convenient. There is also the Kiryugawa Walking Trail nearby, so we had no trouble finding places to walk our dogs. I think this is a cottage where both guests traveling with dogs and those without can relax comfortably. And the owners are truly wonderful people. We’ll be back!

This is our fourth summer stay, and Hakuba Mountainside never disappoints no matter how many times we visit. The Facility is always kept clean and comfortable, and the front desk and housekeeping staff are polite and friendly, making every stay truly pleasant. The kitchen is also very well equipped, with plenty of cookware for anyone who wants to enjoy serious home cooking. Our summer holiday starts with waking up to birdsong in the morning. We then enjoy a walk, followed by a leisurely lunch with fresh local vegetables and naturally leavened bread. In the afternoon we take a nap, and in the evening we head to Happo-no-Yu, famous for its highly alkaline waters. Soaking slowly while taking in the view from the open-air bath is pure bliss. At night we go to bed early with a book—this luxurious, peaceful day is something we repeat every year. And by the end of our trip—perhaps thanks to Happo-no-Yu—our skin feels wonderfully smooth and makeup goes on surprisingly well, which has become one of our annual pleasures too.

I visit every winter season. This is a Hotel that’s easy to stay at, and it improves every year, making it more comfortable. I think the food was better this year. The ski resort shuttle to and from the gondola station was quick, there were fewer international guests, and I could enjoy skiing at a relaxed pace—very satisfying. This year, the Tsuga-no-Mori lift was not operating, so I couldn’t see the magnificent Mt. Shirouma, which was a bit disappointing, but I rediscovered a beautiful spot with views of Mt. Yari in Hakuba. I had a relaxing and enjoyable ski trip.

The Room was clean and comfortable. The meals, handmade by the hostess, were very delicious and offered in such generous portions that we couldn't finish them all. We were able to enjoy our meals together with our beloved dog, making it a pet-friendly Hotel. It was an unforgettable stay. Thank you very much!

Hakuba Happo Onsen is located at the western edge of the Fossa Magna, and its rare mineral composition—due to exposed serpentinite—is said to be unusual in Japan. As it was the off-season (summer), I was able to relax and enjoy the large public bath on my own. Dinner was authentic French cuisine, and breakfast featured galettes. The one-night Plan with dinner and breakfast for one person, priced just under 20,000 yen, felt both luxurious and great value. In winter, many international skiers visit, so Hakuba may have plenty of Hotels and lodges where you can enjoy excellent meals. The Accommodation owner kindly came to pick me up at Hakuba Station even for a single guest. While being served by a wonderful madam during dinner, I enjoyed Nagano-produced wine. The Hotel itself is quite old, but even taking that into account, it was a very good-value stay. It was also conveniently located—about 1–2 hours by bus or train—to Nagano, Matsumoto, and Itoigawa Station on the Sea of Japan side along the Itoigawa–Shizuoka Tectonic Line. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I used this place for my grandmother's birthday. I had been in contact with the front desk staff in advance for arranging a cake and surprise, and they were very helpful. Also, I was looking for a clean and stylish villa where I could stay with my dog, and in conclusion, choosing Jade was really the right decision! The interior was so clean that it was hard to believe it was a pet-friendly villa, and everything we needed, such as a cage, bowls, and sheets, was provided. The living room was very spacious, and it was an extraordinary experience where I could gather with my family after a long time and have fun. When it was time for the BBQ, the staff started the fire for us, and we could start right away. The freshly cooked white rice was also delicious. We ran out of charcoal halfway through, but the staff quickly came to help, and their prompt response was excellent. It's rare to find a villa with such high-quality buildings and solid service where pets are allowed, so I will definitely be returning! Thank you to all the staff.

It was very helpful that the property was so close to the starting point! Being able to use the parking lot until the race ended was a huge help. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you for your hospitality.

It was very clean, and we had a great time! There was a tent outside, so we could enjoy a comfortable BBQ even in light rain! With floor heating, it seemed like we could stay comfortably even in the upcoming cold season. The staff were also kind.
