The beach was right in front of us, and from the rooftop Onsen pool we had a panoramic view over Karatsu city. We were welcomed with a cake, and there were also sweets in our Room, plus a whole lineup of ice cream before the bath. The breakfast buffet was so plentiful we couldn’t finish it, with an excellent selection of desserts as well. As expected from Chateraise—I wished we could have stayed one more night.

This Hotel impressed us in every way—hospitality, Facility, everything. At check-in, a staff member even came out to the parking lot to greet us. While enjoying a welcome drink, we received a thorough explanation of the property. The kids were beyond excited about how spacious and spotless the Room was, and about the view. There were thoughtful loan items such as card games, so not only the children but also we parents had a great time. We were also happy to find ReFa straightening and curling irons and a SHARP drum washer-dryer permanently installed, with detergent provided as well. The cleaning was impeccable down to every corner—truly impressive! (We stayed at another luxury Hotel the night before and noticed uncleaned areas and even flies, but here there was nothing like that—everything was beautiful.) At night, we relaxed by floating in the pool while gazing at the stars. And then breakfast—again, amazing: tender Wagyu steak in the morning and carefully prepared dishes using local ingredients. We had mentioned it was an anniversary trip, and they even prepared a cake and drinks for us. Every staff member was polite and warm; our 6-year-old son says it’s “the best Hotel ever.” I didn’t know Kouri Island could be such a wonderful place. We would absolutely love to stay again—with this Hotel as our main reason for coming back.

We stayed here with four generations of our family. Because our 93-year-old grandmother has become more self-conscious around others and rarely goes out to eat, we chose a Room with a private Onsen. She was truly delighted, and we are so glad we chose this Room. Since it was a trip with four generations, we wanted a space where everyone could relax at their own pace, so we made a Reservation for the Wakakusa Room. Thanks to the spacious Room, everyone in the family was able to spend time comfortably and freely without any stress. We usually live in Mie, so it’s rare for our whole family to travel together. This time, traveling with our 3-year-old son and 93-year-old grandmother, we were able to create wonderful memories as a family. Last summer, after renting a nearby vacation home and visiting Morito Beach, we discovered SCAPES THE SUITE. We made a Reservation because we were drawn to the easy beach access and the property’s atmosphere, and we had been looking forward to our stay. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy the sea with our family, including our two young daughters. We used the pick-up and drop-off service from Zushi Station, and being greeted by a classic Cedric taxi instantly set a resort mood. We arrived a little early and planned to wait in the lobby, but perhaps because of my IKYU Diamond membership, we were shown to our Room right away. It was the twin “Mandarin Orange.” It felt more spacious than expected, with the Shonan sea right in front of us and Enoshima clearly visible at all times. Due to the weather we only caught a faint glimpse of Mt. Fuji for a moment, but having the ocean always in view was truly soothing. After the concierge kindly showed us around the Room, they helped arrange our one-hour private jacuzzi time (per Room) as well as breakfast time. We were worried about an approaching typhoon, but fortunately it took a course that didn’t affect us much—so we even enjoyed occasional sunshine. Our daughters’ family was able to swim several times, while we grandparents stayed in the Room caring for our 7-month-old grandchild. It was wonderfully relaxing. With children aged three and zero with us, we ate out for dinner; however, the Hotel restaurant also looked very appealing. This time we only had breakfast and lunch here, but next time we would love to try dinner as well. No matter where you look from within this property—the balcony or even from the jacuzzi—the view of the sea never gets old. That scenery itself felt like your greatest hospitality. We also strongly felt how much everyone working there loves Hayama—and loves this Hotel. The pride and care of both the concierge team and those serving at breakfast/the restaurant really came through. We were also delighted by your gift: Genbei’s famous beach sandals. You coordinated sizes and colors for each family member perfectly—our daughters’ family was thrilled. Finally, after receiving an outstanding carrot dressing as well, we headed home feeling refreshed. The Hotel we chose for our first trip to Ishigaki Island Everyone was surprised by how spacious the Room was—it’s a space that makes you think, “Is this what an ideal villa stay feels like?” Since our goal for this trip was simply to relax, choosing UBUFURU was absolutely the right decision. Because they don’t accommodate many guests, we were able to spend quiet, fulfilling time there. Breakfast didn’t have a huge number of items, but that actually let us savor each one carefully. Having a washing machine in the Room made it easy to do laundry at our own pace, and we realized it quietly adds a lot of comfort to the trip. If I had to mention an area for improvement: I would have liked the sauna temperature to be a bit higher. The cold plunge temperature and the outdoor relaxation setup were excellent, so improving this point would make guests even happier! Thank you as well for preparing a BBQ dinner on short notice on our second day. Being able to eat at our own pace with family while looking out at the ocean became a wonderful memory. As mentioned in other Reviews, be careful if you do it in the Room—smells will linger no matter what—so I recommend doing it on the balcony instead. All of the staff maintained just the right distance without being intrusive, while still responding properly whenever we needed something. Thank you very much!

Everything—the scenery, the people, the space, and the food—was exceptional. I felt instantly healed rather than gradually. The sunset was beautiful, and each person who helped us showed heartfelt hospitality. The cooking that brought out the best in the ingredients was outstanding, as were the delicious broths. I stayed here while sightseeing in Osaka. The hotel is conveniently located near the station, and the room was spacious and easy to use. The table and chairs in the room were very practical and made my stay even more comfortable. The amenities, welcome drink, and breakfast were simple but well taken care of, and I was very satisfied. I never expected to find such an exceptionally refined Ryokan in the quiet seaside town of Esashi. From the moment you step inside, there’s a sense of quality in the air, and the staff’s attentive, warm hospitality gently eases away any travel fatigue. The cuisine fully showcases the blessings of Esashi’s sea and land, with care and artistry evident in every dish. The seafood freshness, in particular, is outstanding—I truly felt the authentic flavor you can only experience by eating it here in Hokkaido. Overall, Ryotei Gunrai is an Accommodation so complete that the stay itself feels like a work of art. I’ve visited many Accommodations across Hokkaido, but personally I consider this my No. 1 Ryokan in Hokkaido. This was my second stay, and it confirmed it. The tranquility, cuisine, and service are all harmonized at a remarkably high level—an extraordinary place that makes you certain you’ll want to return again.

This was our first time staying here as three generations, and we truly enjoyed it. We were impressed by the building, the location, and the furnishings inside. Everything was provided—kitchen equipment, amenities, and more—and we were amazed at how well-equipped the Facility was. Each Room was spacious and had its own toilet and shower, and even with a group of 10 people, we were able to relax comfortably in the kitchen and living area. The children also loved having a kids’ Room on the second floor, running around in the garden, catching insects, and playing by the shore. The BBQ ingredients you prepared for us were fresh, plentiful, and delicious. Breakfast was also well-balanced and very tasty. We stayed for only one night this time, but our whole family is already talking about coming back for a Multiple Night Stay next time. Thank you very much for your kindness!

The front desk staff welcomed us with exceptional kindness. The Room was spacious and spotless, with a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Toya. In the private open-air bath, we could soak in the Onsen while fully enjoying the spectacular scenery of Lake Toya. The open-air bath in the large public bath on the top floor was at the perfect temperature—never too hot—so we could relax without having to step out repeatedly. Looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity bath, we felt completely refreshed in both body and mind; it was truly outstanding. The dining was also excellent. The dinner buffet featured an abundant selection of fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi, including scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp. There were also hot dishes such as grilled crab legs and steak—all you can eat. Breakfast offered a wide variety of seafood as well, including raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, and our whole family was thoroughly satisfied with the meals at “Kohan no Sumika.” I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Ryokan so far, but “Kohan no Sumika” is one of the few Hotels that I can say I absolutely want to return to. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, our family enjoyed an unforgettable and perfect stay. Thank you very much. 2. Business Courtesy Version (more formal and polite tone) This is a flawless Onsen Resort Hotel. I stayed at “Kohan no Sumika” on August 30. The front desk service was extremely courteous, and the Room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well maintained. From the guest Room we could enjoy sweeping views of Lake Toya, and in the private open-air bath we were able to savor both the Onsen experience and the beautiful scenery of Lake Toya to our heart’s content. The top-floor open-air bath had a wonderfully comfortable temperature that allowed for a long soak without overheating. Relaxing while looking down over Lake Toya from the infinity Onsen made for an exceptionally luxurious moment of calm. Dinner was highly satisfying: along with plentiful fresh sashimi and nigiri sushi—such as scallops, sea urchin, and shrimp—there were also all-you-can-eat options like grilled crab and steak. Breakfast likewise included seafood such as raw surf clams and sweet shrimp, leaving our entire family very pleased with its quality. Although I have stayed at more than 70 Japanese Onsen Hotels to date, “Kohan no Sumika” is one of those rare outstanding Accommodations that I would very much like to visit again. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for everyone’s warm hospitality; thanks to you all, our family enjoyed a truly perfect time together.

I had such an enjoyable time relaxing while admiring the stunning scenery that time flew by quickly. Sitting on the sofa until the end while gazing at the sea made me wish to stay longer... It was such a satisfying experience that I've decided to come back again next year!

This luxury Japanese-style Ryokan with views of Mt. Fuji offered exceptional service. The view from the Room was stunning, and the windows were polished to a shine, which showed true hospitality. Both the in-room bath and the large public bath were comfortable and deeply relaxing. The meals were also delicious. The attentive service made our children happy as well. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

I’d been wanting to stay here someday, and it was a truly wonderful Room. The lighting had motion sensors, the facilities were barrier-free, and both loungewear and sleepwear (pajamas) were provided, making it very comfortable to spend time here. It was also nice to enjoy French cuisine again after a long time—it was delicious. If I had to mention a couple of points, it was sometimes hard to catch the staff’s explanations (in Japanese), and since the large public bath was set to 40°C, it felt a bit lukewarm; I wished the temperatures of the open-air bath and indoor bath could be adjusted separately. (It may be a healthy temperature setting.)

Since there were no vacancies at other facilities, I made a Reservation. I wasn’t expecting much because it wasn’t a high-priced property, but the meals and the view from the restaurant were wonderful. However, the coffee machine used powdered milk and it tasted terrible. I’d like to visit again if I have the chance.

The lounge also had a great collection of records—I couldn't resist playing some nostalgic tunes. There were plenty of tabletop games too; I almost didn’t want to return to my room! Watching the sunset from the Onsen while relaxing at this hotel was truly rejuvenating. I
