We were happy to see the energetic Hokkaido dogs again—Miyon, Dan, and Dolly! This Accommodation was satisfying in every way, from the Onsen to the meals, and they even moved our “repeat guest” plaque to our 8th car. Thank you to all the staff for your consistently warm and attentive hospitality.

Anyway, the meals were excellent. There was plenty of fresh fish, and the horaku-yaki I debated adding was also very delicious. The appetizers were varied and tasty, and the sea bream rice had a gentle seasoning and was great. Since I couldn’t finish it all, they made it into rice balls for me, which I enjoyed later as a late-night snack. Amazing value for money.

This time, I stayed one night at Atami Pearl Star Hotel with a married couple who were friends from my university days. The place was very clean and spacious, and the service was excellent. All of the meals were delicious, with just the right portions, and we finished everything. We also enjoyed a relaxed breakfast. They even had local guri tea available, which I was very happy about. The amenities were great as well, and what made me happiest was the bed. It was the same as mine at home—soft with just the right firmness—so I slept very well. When I visit Atami again, I would like to stay at this Hotel again.

There is also a large public bath; it wasn’t an Onsen, but it was clean and relaxing, so we were very satisfied. All of the staff members were pleasant as well—they spoke to us naturally when needed without being intrusive—so we had a very comfortable stay. The Facility offeri

The Room was very clean, and being able to watch Shinkansen trains from the high floor was a hit even with our grown-up kids. The bathroom with a separate washing area, unlike a typical unit bath, let us soak and relax without worrying about getting the surroundings wet, which was truly soothing. Everything at breakfast was delicious, and we fully enjoyed Nagoya specialties. Since the Hotel is directly connected to Nagoya Station, it’s perfect for leaving your luggage and going sightseeing—we’d like to come by Shinkansen next time.

The location was outstanding above all else. The in-room bath was an Onsen, and the view was so incredible that I could have stayed in it forever without wanting to leave. The Room was a perfect size and felt very clean. The meals were excellent, and I was very satisfied with both breakfast and dinner. There wasn’t any particular dress code inside the property, and it was fine to dine in loungewear, which made for a very relaxing stay. We joined the optional stargazing guide tour, but unfortunately Mt. Onidake—the planned observation spot—was covered by clouds so we couldn’t observe there. However, the guide quickly took us to another location, and we were able to see a wonderful starry sky. We enjoyed the Milky Way and summer constellations with the naked eye. The only disappointing thing was that there was a used tissue left in the pocket of the loungewear provided in our Room—apparently from a previous guest. I wonder if they didn’t check the pockets during cleaning… I also became curious about other Onko Chishin properties, so I went ahead and signed up for membership (lol).

This is a very nice Hotel where you can fully enjoy the great nature of Lake Akan. The woody interior seems to have been recently renovated and is very relaxing. There is coffee service in the lobby, and luggage storage is done by placing your bags in a locker after setting your own code. We splurged on a better Room and it had an outstanding view, plenty of space, and even a microwave. Breakfast was excellent—as you’d expect in Hokkaido—not only seafood but also pizza and hamburgers, plus smoothies. We also heard we could use the baths at the main building of the same Tsuruga group, so we went there. There is a shuttle bus, but it’s about a 7-minute walk along the lakeside. The baths at the main building were incredibly luxurious.

It was an absolutely wonderful stay. When I asked to leave my luggage before check-in, you kindly accommodated my request, which allowed me to go about my plans with peace of mind. The moment I stepped into the Hotel, I was enveloped in a refined yet glamorous fragrance that instantly made the experience feel special. All of the staff were impeccably presented, with polished manners and elegant language. Every interaction felt delightful and memorable. The Club Lounge presentations were all excellent. In particular, the Pasha coffee served at afternoon tea and the specially paired sweets were exceptional—I truly enjoyed a luxurious and uplifting time. I also stopped by the bar before bed, where the bartender created one original cocktail after another tailored to my preferences. It felt like being in a dream. In my room, I initially found the shower controls a bit difficult to use, but when I contacted you, a staff member came right away and explained everything clearly, which was very helpful. Above all, the bed was more comfortable than anything I have ever experienced, and I slept wonderfully. Thanks to you, it became an unforgettable trip. I would love to stay again. We booked this Accommodation for our annual summer trip as a couple, as we had wanted to visit for a long time. Although the Accommodation is surrounded by the sea, it was calm with little rocky-shore scent, and the sea breeze felt fresh and pleasant. There are only four Rooms, and after researching in advance, we made a Reservation for a Room close to the deck and the ocean—exactly the location we loved. Inside, there was a faint scent of wood, and details like a small raised tatami area and subtly varied wood grain in parts of the flooring made it simple yet very comfortable. It’s a small thing, but I was also happy they had a good-quality hair iron available. For activities, we tried SUP and the sunset cruise. It was cloudy, but that actually meant it wasn’t too hot, so we were able to fully enjoy both. My husband also enjoyed listening to records on the audio system in the lobby (I think). We had planned to watch the stars by a bonfire after dinner, but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate… however, the staff prepared sparklers for us, and we were able to enjoy them quietly. The meal was a course menu that reflected glimpses of the local-born chef’s unique creativity, and it was fun just imagining what would come next from reading the menu. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious, but perhaps because of their background in Japanese cuisine, the dashi-based soup in particular tasted exceptional. Also, although everyone working in the kitchen seemed young, they created such a pleasant atmosphere and appeared well trained in their respective fields. It was a short trip, but it felt like an escape from everyday life and left us refreshed—I think I can work hard again. It was truly wonderful Accommodation, and I hope to return again in another season.

I’ve been staying here for over 20 years. Since retiring, I think I’ve been visiting a bit more often. I also enjoyed the renewed half-buffet breakfast. I’m planning to stay about two more times before the end of the year. As always, the staff were pleasant and welcoming, and I had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much. One request: while the croissants at the current half-buffet were delicious, I would be happy if you could also offer the larger ones you used to have.

It was an extremely satisfying stay, and above all, the meals were outstanding. I was only able to have dinner, but everything was carefully prepared, from the seasoning to the presentation. I also personally really appreciated that the meal was not served in the Room, but could be enjoyed in a spacious dining area. The view from the dining area was superb.

We truly enjoyed the delicious meals at both breakfast and dinner. The bath was also very comfortable. We stayed for our wedding anniversary with a Plan where we went fishing and the head chef prepared the fish we caught. We had such a wonderful time, and it was an Accommodation that made us truly glad we chose it for our anniversary. First, the atmosphere of the Room was fantastic, and it was lovely that you can see the ocean from every Room. It felt great to relax while gazing out at the sea from our Room. While fishing, we caught a fairly large fish that we both said might be a conger eel. We never expected it to be pike conger, so we were surprised when we found out later (laugh). If you bring the fish you catch back to the Accommodation by the designated time, the head chef will turn it into one dish for dinner. This time, our pike conger was served as a dish layering zucchini tempura and pike conger tempura, with ume plum paste and salt on the side. The flesh was incredibly fluffy and delicious. I think what makes this Plan special is being able to have “the fish we caught ourselves turned into such a wonderful dish.” It also became an unexpected travel memory. For dinner, I had mentioned in advance that I’m not good with raw fish, so they cooked mine through. They prepared it in ways that suited each type of fish—grilled or lightly seared—so I could enjoy everything deliciously. What left an especially strong impression was how attentive the staff were. They cleared away an egg-and-soy dipping sauce that came with sashimi once, but later my husband and I mentioned that since there would be udon at the end after Matsusaka beef shabu-shabu, “We should have kept that egg-and-soy sauce.” Then they brought us a fresh serving of egg-and-soy sauce, which made us very happy. It felt like they even noticed our small conversation; not only was the food excellent, but their thoughtfulness really stood out. During our stay there was also a group visiting from overseas, but because dining areas were separated, it never felt noisy and we could enjoy our meal at ease. The baths were also very spacious and well equipped—sauna; open-air bath; cold bath; jacuzzi; standing bath; and more. It was so nice that we wanted to go in again and again during our stay. The Room, cuisine, baths—and above all the considerate care from everyone on staff—were all completely satisfying. It became a wonderful stay worthy of our wedding anniversary. This is an Accommodation where we’d love to stay again for another special occasion.
