I stayed here with my child. The building blends beautifully into a quiet, peaceful town, and its wonderful atmosphere instantly soothed both body and mind after a long day of walking. It was our first trip to Okinawa in a while. In the past, we traveled with our children and visited many places, so we didn’t spend much time at the Hotel. Now that we are both in our 60s, we enjoyed a relaxing Multiple Night Stay for two nights. Because it is a remote island a little far from Naha, we could truly feel the authentic, non-touristy Okinawa. Not only was the food wonderful, but being warmly chatted with by the staff was the greatest “reward” of all. We became fans of Kouri Island and One Suite. We would love to visit again.

I have been staying here for some time, and recently I always stay for three nights. Each time, the property is quiet and thoroughly cleaned throughout. The wonderful, delicious meals were excellent, and both the open-air bath and the large public bath were spotless. The background music was also pleasant. The Room has two rooms with a veranda, and it was the perfect size for just my spouse and me. The staff’s service was also good.

This was about my fourth visit, and it had been a while since the last time, but once again I had a thoroughly satisfying stay in every respect. As it was just the beginning of September, we were served dobin-mushi and matsutake mushroom rice, allowing us to enjoy the flavors of autumn a little early. Everything was delicious. The Room was spotless, and the entire property felt clean and well maintained. Above all, every staff member was polite and composed; meals were served at just the right time, and they always seemed to be attentively looking out for guests in a natural way. This was our first stay, and thank you very much for preparing such a wonderful Room! Our family had a great time. Since we have a small child, we really appreciated the valet service on hot days, and we were truly happy when your staff helped carry our plates to the table at the breakfast buffet while I was holding my child. Also, because we could switch our breakfast vouchers to the lunch buffet at your affiliated Hotel next door, it was a big help that they didn’t go to waste even on days when we had to head out early in the morning. The value for money is excellent and the in-house Facilities are well equipped—this is a Hotel I would recommend to friends and acquaintances. Thanks to you, it was a very satisfying trip. This luxury Japanese-style Ryokan with views of Mt. Fuji offered exceptional service. The view from the Room was stunning, and the windows were polished to a shine, which showed true hospitality. Both the in-room bath and the large public bath were comfortable and deeply relaxing. The meals were also delicious. The attentive service made our children happy as well. We were completely satisfied with everything—the meals, the Onsen, the Room, and the service.\nSimmered golden eye snapper is a specialty at Ryokan in Chiba, but although this one looked lightly seasoned, the flavor was thoroughly infused and we enjoyed it to the very end without finding it too strong.\nWe also loved the silky feel of the Onsen.\nWe’d love to visit again!

The Hotel staff were all very kind. Our pet tends to bark when approached by people, so we were concerned at first; however, they maintained an appropriate distance which made our stay very comfortable. Although it rained on our first day, the weather improved on the second day.

We stayed for three nights as a family of three. Above all, the location—right in front of the ocean—was unbeatable. It sits along the coastline that continues from Toguchi Beach, and it’s about a 5-minute walk to Toguchi Beach. It’s also less than a 10-minute drive from Irabu Bridge, making it a convenient base for sightseeing. The sea during the day was wonderful, and the starry sky at night was just as amazing. One morning after the rain, we were even treated to an incredible view of a huge rainbow over the ocean. The time we spent looking out at the sea and rainbow beyond the pool is especially unforgettable. There’s also a small area in front of the villa that feels like a private beach. This time we decided not to go into the water due to an approaching tropical depression, but you can borrow pool items, sand-play toys, and life jackets. We were told that around typhoons, waves can wash away some of the sand and reduce the beach area. The pool is also just the right size for families to enjoy together. And what we loved most was the BBQ. We bought our own ingredients and enjoyed lighting charcoal for the first time in ages. Having drinks while BBQing with an oceanfront view was simply perfect. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and basic seasonings, so self-catering is easy. There’s also a water dispenser, complimentary drinks in the refrigerator, plus a washer-dryer with detergent—very convenient for a Multiple Night Stay. Trash can be separated and left by the entrance in the morning for collection. We also appreciated being able to sleep comfortably on built-in beds rather than an extra bed even with three people. There are four beds in total, so we were able to recover well from travel fatigue. The staff were very kind as well. It’s not like a luxury Hotel with full service and staff on-site 24/7, but during staffed hours they responded quickly whenever we needed something. On our last day, they even came outside to see us off despite strong winds and heavy rain—we’re truly grateful. Since it was summer there were some insects as expected, but insect spray and repellents are provided; I recommend setting them up soon after arrival. Geckos are part of island life too (in good humor). Perhaps because priority is given to views, there isn’t much eave overhang; during heavy rain we noticed some raindrop noise against windows at times—but in return, views from inside this Room are genuinely spectacular. The windows have excellent sound insulation; normally you can barely hear waves indoors at all. If I had one wish: having mats at both the entrance and terrace doorway to brush off sand would make things even more convenient. This is a villa where you can stay “as if living,” at your own pace. Our whole family was completely satisfied—an amazing 3-night/4-day stay!

I never expected to find such an exceptionally refined Ryokan in the quiet seaside town of Esashi. From the moment you step inside, there’s a sense of quality in the air, and the staff’s attentive, warm hospitality gently eases away any travel fatigue. The cuisine fully showcases the blessings of Esashi’s sea and land, with care and artistry evident in every dish. The seafood freshness, in particular, is outstanding—I truly felt the authentic flavor you can only experience by eating it here in Hokkaido. Overall, Ryotei Gunrai is an Accommodation so complete that the stay itself feels like a work of art. I’ve visited many Accommodations across Hokkaido, but personally I consider this my No. 1 Ryokan in Hokkaido. This was my second stay, and it confirmed it. The tranquility, cuisine, and service are all harmonized at a remarkably high level—an extraordinary place that makes you certain you’ll want to return again.
